I also love the several units of dimensions it has for design (saves me time and effort of converting it every time on Google search) Cons I do not like the interface. But you need to be careful with lots of pages. It will impact performance a great deal. This is not a book layout software like ID. It for small books, and brochures. Also logo creation experience is great, but the gradients do require a better approach and better algorithms. Pros I think what I like the most is the vector tools. They are very elaborate but easy and intuitive to use. I tried to use AI, it never stuck with me the way CorelDRAW vector tools did. I believe the print merge is another very solid feature but you need to careful with it. Cons One of the issues CorelDRAW has is it tries to do too much. While this is not necessarily a con, a lot of development maintenance goes into supporting features that at the end of the day are irrelevant. I think the table system is very badly implemented. I would give it 1/10. If you need tabular support find another software. October 30, 2023 5.0 Corel Draw has been essential to my sign writing business over the years and has given me the tools to develop my marketing portfolio also so very positive experience wiht this software. Pros I have used this software for around 10 years for vector art for sign writing and for marketing design for online and print ads. It is full of functionality and a lot of elements of it are easy to use. Being able to send images to other Corel software it great and the functions for sign writers are good. Cons There is so much functionality that is not always obvious what it achieves. I have had to study the user guides and teach myself some functions which are more fiddly however for someone with advanced education or formal training with this software I expect it would be easier. Pros Corel draw is on of the most user friendly software but yet powerful graphic design software's, most or all the tools needed like color pallets, pen tools, shapes, cropping tools, rulers and measurements plus many more tools are carefully placed on the screen so that I do not have to start looking for tools within the software menus or submenus while working, so in short its very convenient. Cons In order to edit images in Corel Draw it has to load Corel paint and now you have two software's for one simple edit, wasting both time and computer resources, that is processing power and RAM. Even so, I taught myself how to use it, as it is an intuitive software with easy tools for execution, administration and work control. To this day, I keep updating my knowledge and using Corel every day in vector graphics and image editing. Pros In addition to making my work day easier, it also exports to various other image and vector editing software from other companies without any loss of quality. As I receive materials from other companies that use other software, this makes it very easy. Adobe Illustrator does not export files to Corel for example, it has to be saved in pdf to work with Corel. Corel is part of my professional life and growth and I love it. Cons The only thing I think could be improved in Corel would be the export of files with shadow and glow effects to close the file for sending the graphic in pdf. The workflow and navigation is straight. I love the way of mixing elements and selection tool, fewer clicks to get to what you look for than the rest of the similar. And also a powerful tool for designers. The font selection is huge. One of the best font managers I used so far. Pros Corel is a great tool for designers. It has an easy learning curve and very intuitive once you start. The tool bar covers most of the needs of any designer. It is great to make shapes and complex layout, but it is oriented to visual design in general. Not an specialized tool for any particular graphic field. Cons Color management by default is not good. CorelDraw combines the features of apps like Illustrator, Photoshop and Indesign in one intuitive and easy to use application. Need to design a vector ad that uses a few images? Edit the image and adjust resolution inside CorelDraw without having to first use another program like Photoshop. Need page layout for a multi-page project? Do it all in CorelDraw instead of having to build every page or ad separately and import into a separate application just for page layout. In addition to features that allowed us to use a single program rather than multiple, CorelDraw has an assortment of shortcuts that just make sense, and that Adobe hasn't bothered to include an easy way to accomplish in programs like Illustrator. Select the next object below or last below is a perfect example of this. With Illustrator a simple feature like this wasn't possible until CS5, while Corel had it for years before. All in all, CorelDraw's ease of use and flexibility saved me countless hours over the years. Cons The biggest problem CorelDraw faces is that it is not advancing as quickly as its competitors. I still believe it is the best tool for the specific projects I had in the past, but if I had a project that involved solely vector illustration, or photo editing, I'm not sure if CorelDraw would be the best choice for it. It really shines in projects that would normally require a mix of PS, AI and ID. I hope that it continues to advance in the future so that it remains relevant for other types of projects as well.
