Freelancer Telecommunications Used the software for: 2+ years ### "Image Manipulation at a mouse click" February 12, 2021 5.0 Overall, this app has all the functionalities needed to create professional outputs of your image projects, has a lot of options for effects, nice and smooth rendering, added vector function and ability to export in different formats. Pros This was the first app I used for my photo manipulation projects and although it was quite overwhelming learning its interface at first, it was worth it. I was lazy to learn this until I discovered tricks like background removal, masking effects, recoloring, making composites and collages, recoloring, deblurring, etc. These functionalities make a not so professional picture turn into a pro by a few mouse clicks. I also learned from this software how important vector graphics is when I learned about logo and icon creation, since it avoids the hassle of resizing non high resolution images into a bigger canvass which ends up pixelated. The vector functionality allowed me create my own designs as I was fascinated by Manga and anime at that time. In addition, the paths function was really amazing as it allows text to follow the contours of my image designs. Cons All I can say is that this app requires higher RAM, like most multimedia apps, as it creates lagtime especially when stacking up multiple layers with high resolution and large image sizes. Reason for choosing CorelDRAW The other apps have limited functionality and although Adobe Photoshop is comparable to CorelDraw, the added vector functionality is attractive since I was heavily into Manga and Anime designing at that time. Pros I like the ability to bend and make it do whatever you want to achieve related to graphic design, when i first came across the software i thought it wasn't a great deal but when i started exploring it, i realized that there is nothing you can't do with CorelDraw,you can achieve almost anything and can bend it to do so many wonderful things in different ways. Cons The one thing i can say that i didn't pretty much like with coreldraw is that it is somehow hard to learn, it takes a long time before you get use to the user interface and also the shortcut keys are not common unlike the Microsoft shortcut keys that are straight forward, but once you get use to the system, then sky is your limit because it's fun working with coreldraw and so many wonderful things can be done on it. We distribute and Stored thousands of documents via .cdr (CorelDraw Files) Pros The colour management feature is one of best thing in this application as a Publishing firm. Trace function which we can convert images to editable illustrations are very useful when designing many things. In new versions, we can attach the font files to cdr document which solved many problems in earlier versions when transferring documents. "Prepare for Service Bureau" which gather all files (CDR file, PDF, Font Files, Document info, font info) helps alot when moving or distributing documents. Cons The major issue with the CorelDraw is we cannot open new version's .cdr file with older versions. Hope CorelDraw team will make a way atleast in future versions which gives capability to open new files in older versions. Sometimes the Application going crash when working with complex designing.
