The best solution for us at the moment in our price range. As we grow we'll begin looking for something a bit more robust at a higher price.

Pros

This isn't the best NGO management software out there, but it is definitely the best option at it's pricing tier. It enables overall management of the many moving parts of an NGO. The organization manual is an amazing feature--internal documentation is something no one ever has time to do. Reporting generation is also crucial. Customer service really makes NewOrg stand out.

Cons

There's a few features that we feel are missing, in particular re: internal communication platform options and data import. Other features could be improved upon, especially the report generation function and the donor module.

Pros

The NewOrg platform is incredibly flexible. We are not their "typical" client, but they were able to customize their platform to accommodate all the quirks of our non-profit's programs, including building 3 custom portals for our stakeholders; building out custom, calculated fields that help us with our reporting; creating a variety of reports to answer the questions we need to be able to manage our programs and show our impact; and created custom solutions to help our team process client applications more accurately and more quickly. Additionally, most of those items (except the portals) were created in hours to days - not weeks to months like the other systems we have used. When we submit tickets, they are usually resolved in less than a day, and if not possible, they let us know when it will be complete. Implementation couldn't have been more collaborative, thought-provoking, focused, fun (yes actually fun!), and productive. It was truly a joy to implement this system and that's something I've never said before.

Cons

We had a few items that we'd like to customize but can't, but none are dealbreakers. I love the reports and dashboards, they're a huge upgrade over our prior system, but a few more customization options, summation options, and visualization updates would go a long way.

I have had a very positive experience throughout implementation, launching and now reporting, building dashboards and utilizing customer support. NewOrg helped us bridge the divide between program implementation needs, funding and contract requirements and building in organizational dreams/learning culture features that we were unable to get from our previous client management system.

Pros

NewOrg has great support and walked us through every step of the implementation process to make sure we were getting what we needed for both front line staff and reporting.

Cons

Moving to a new system is always a challenge for staff and there is a learning curve, but NewOrg set us up with thorough instructions and ongoing real live human support.

Reason for choosing NewOrg

We talked with other organizations using all of the systems we were considering, but NewOrg had the best customer service support reviews of the options we were considering. They were also able to meet our confidentiality challenges that we face as a multi service organization including domestic violence services which requires specific security requirements between dv and non-dv services/clients.

CiviCore's customer support was slow to respond, at best. Reporting was an ongoing challenge as the reporting feature was not intuitive and we have frequent reporting requirement changes. We cannot say enough positive praise about New Org. The entire onboarding team and support team have been responsive, communicative, and incredibly collaborative through the process. From hearing our specific needs and supporting overall scoping, to determining feasibility of wishlist items and how it would impact other parts of our portal integration, the team has been true partners from start to finish. Everything we ask for has been truly vetted, tested, and provided, and the ongoing support through the quick response to their ticket support system has been efficient. We are very happy with this system and truly cannot express enough how transformative the integration of New Org has been for our organization.

Pros

New Org has provided incredible transparency into the fiscal health of our organization, as wall as our current status. The real-time reporting, quick support responses to tickets, integration with other systems, and user-friendly functionality has been transforming our ability to provide urgent assistance needs to our clients, and to provide excellent customer service.

Cons

There is nothing not working to meet the needs of our organization within New Org. They have truly catered the platform to meet our unique program needs, and we have worked collaboratively to continue to expand our platform to better support our stakeholders.

If we could do it all over again, we would pick NewOrg. It was the only platform that met our unique organizational needs and our budget. The personalized onboarding process was a surprising bonus that we didn't expect.

Pros

As a nonprofit, we did a lot of research on softwares prior to choosing NewOrg. NewOrg fit our budget while also meeting all of our "wish list" features. We were thrilled with the onboarding process, which was personalized and interactive. A huge bonus is the ongoing support provided for a very reasonable cost after launch. The platform is easy to use, and any time we have questions, our dedicated support person is quick to respond.

Cons

We initially sought a software that made it easier to build our own customized reports. However, it's very easy to submit a support ticket for a customized report, and the support team is very responsive.

It's honestly been really pleasant! A lot of non-profits don't go into database development thinking it will be fun-- we're social workers. :-) Our Engineer, \[sensitive content hidden\], was really thoughtful and deliberate in his recommendations during the development phase. By the end of it, it felt like he had a good understanding our program, both from a data perspective and from a service delivery framework.

Pros

I really appreciated the individualized support that NewOrg gave our organization during the planning phase. Our engineer asked a lot of good questions and even, anticipated potential issues during the development.

Cons

The biggest challenge for us so far is that we aren't able to make certain fields required. Part of this is that our multi-service organization have access to the same questions. While some questions are required for a department, it may not be for another. It would be great if we could somehow find a way to make certain question required based on the department.

The system was already in place when I joined the organization, and I was immediately impressed by how well-structured it is from a donor-management perspective. Throughout the entire development and implementation phases of our project, NewOrg was very engaged in the process and helped to ensure that the database would meet our critical needs. Post-launch they have been incredibly fast in addressing our support tickets when minor tweeks have been needed, in many cases issues have been resolved on the same day.

Adapting our internal naming conventions for data fields to the language that NewOrg uses took us a minute to wrap our heads around.

### "NewOrg made it possible to work remotely during Pandemic"

For the last few years (prior to Pandemic) we have used this system for one of our program and have had NO issues. It provides all the features we needed. Anytime we needed to add or remove items from the program, they were right on it with the same or next day. Excellent customer and IT support. Once the pandemic hit, our office was going to be shut down and panicked on how we are to serve our clients with our other program. Contacted NewOrg and they were able to build another system quickly that allowed us to work remotely. I cannot express how happy we are as were able to customize the program to fit our needs, especially being a Federal Grant holder for 2 programs.

Pros

The ability to customize the program, select type of report to run, it can be used anywhere at anytime from different mobile devices.

Cons

The ability to remove old team member names from current view when running reports and on some dropdown items. These names must remain due to the documenting but should be removed from current viewing.

I have been using NewOrg for 8 years and I can say that it has definitely evolved to meet our needs. In that time, I've cultivated a relationship with the developers/support team personnel, and it is apparent that they take pride in what they do for the companies they serve. They are quick to respond to support tickets and check in periodically to ensure they are meeting our needs in terms of functionality. They also work to accommodate shifts in workflows that arise from program changes, which are frequent when dealing with the government. NewOrg is a boon for smaller organizations looking for an affordable but effective customer management system.

Pros

The best things about NewOrg are its ease of use, customizability to the organization's needs, the support team who truly strives to provide the best user experience, as well as the price point for the amount of functionality that is provided.

Cons

Some features such as the Dashboard, seem limited/ aren't as intuitive. Also, reports may be hard to customize once they are developed depending on the criteria you wish to use. The NewOrg team can often find workarounds for this but something to keep in mind if you will need a more fluid reporting tool.

Everyone has been kind, helpful and attentive. The initial set up is a little intense but after we were up and going I see the necessity of this time.

Pros

NewOrg had been attentive to our specific needs and have been quick to respond. We love the fact that it is so user friendly.

Cons

Some of the base areas of the software that are not changeable. But it is so minor that I hesitated even mentioning.

Most others were selling a system but no support. NewOrg offers excellent support!

At the end of the day – NewOrg is helping us tell our story and bring our data to life. We are on the precipice of being able to capture data for the thousands of community members served by Sierra Community House each year. That is a major accomplishment, and we could not be doing it without NewOrg.

Pros

I won’t lie in saying it has been a heavy lift to get a handle on the complexity of our reports and the data needed to fulfill our grant reporting requirements, but NewOrg has been patient and helpful each step of the way. The hours of time they have dedicated to our teams has been amazing. Our staffing capacity due to responding to COVID in our community has been challenged these past two years … and continues to challenge us. Even with the challenge of merging four organizations into one database, I am more grateful than ever that we made the decision to transition to NewOrg. We receive support from this team that never existed before, and for that I am deeply grateful.

Cons

I wish we could remove some of the stock/template questions in events.

We had many calls with NewOrg prior to purchase, and unlimited customer support was a huge factor. They also seemed to "get" us and our organization's needs.

Overall we love NewOrg, its capabilities and features. We especially appreciate the NewOrg Support Team. They are amazing! They have been responsive to our ever changing needs and oh so helpful in finding solutions as challenges arise.

Pros

One of the best things we like about NewOrg is that it is easy to access information. NewOrg affords our agency the ability to organize all program data in one database. Many of our clients access multiple program services. With the NewOrg Management System, our clients are entered only once as contacts but then 'admitted' to various programs streamlining the data entry process. The implementation process was designed to meet our specific agency needs. It was clearly outlined with customization, beta testing, training, timelines and benchmark meetings. The comprehensive training was well received by our staff. The Training Video Library on the NewOrg website offers brief tutorials and ongoing updates on the system’s features and functionality. The Duplicate Wizard is a great tool to help us eliminate multiple data entry of client information.

Cons

What we like least is the industrial appearance of the reports. We would like them to be more relective of our agency and the services we provide. It would be great if they were colored and had our logo. Also there are a couple of additional customizable features that we would like such as adding/changing colors on the screen and the ability to select a 24 hour clock instead of just a 12 hour clock.

It's been enlightening, and a pleasure.

Pros

NewOrg's team clearly cared about helping us to further our mission with the software tools that would serve us best. They worked really hard to make it right for us. They listened carefully and tailored the system to our needs. They were clearly skilled at hearing what we needed (even when we didn't know), and then creating the software to meet those needs - and they were great to work with.

Cons

I have learned that creating software that is individualized enough to serve optimally takes a certain amount of effort from everybody on both sides of the team, both from the end user and from the developer. However, this isn't really a con; it's just a fact. NewOrg was great to work with and took as much of the burden on themselves as possible.

Pros: Easy of using the program Ability to change and customize our screening reports as needed Flexibility of reports Quick response time when requesting changes or additions to our reports The Support person I deal with has always been very helpful and friendly Web based - I can also look up info on my cell phone Cons: Reports sometimes take longer than usual to populate during certain times of the day. Monthly fees seem high since my department is the only one using this program and I don't need all that NewOrg has to offer. Overall, I love working with NewOrg and the services they provide.

Data base system has capabilities to track clients we serve, volunteers who serve the clients and supporters of our agency. As the data base is built, think about the end result, what information is necessary to report. Features of the system include shared contact records, documents can be attached to records, surveys to groups of contacts, email/mail function, and flexible reporting. The mail/email module is a little difficult to navigate, but does have the ability to create templates for recurring communication.

While some processes require extra steps and I look forward to future features like participant chat, the current development of the participant portal is a major win for transparency. Additionally, their customer support is outstanding and always responsive to our team's needs

Cons

While NewOrg is a valuable daily tool, there are certain features that are currently unavailable, such as an integrated chat function for direct participant communication. Additionally, some workflows currently require extra steps to complete a single process, which can impact overall efficiency.
