### "IMS/Mica review"

If you were to ask my staff members, who have all been with the practice over 10 years, what they think of IMS/Mica their reply's would be, "we love working in Mica". Mica saves us time, allows us to navigate through multiple task simultaneously, it is very user friendly, and we love the color coordination in many fields. Mica can be very proud of their support team, every staff member we have worked with are the most supportive and pleasant business associates. Mica may be a smaller company but it is exactly why we sought them out; the size and organization structure within the company are some of the benefits that makes them so successful and accommodating to our practice. Our medical practice has been in business since 1994 and working with Mica has by far been the best experience for us regarding computer program and support.

Pros

My focus selecting a new program was the ease and efficiency of the program, but just as important the quality of the support team. Mica has not disappointed us, in fact we have enjoyed our ongoing experiences with Mica's responsive, knowledgeable and patient team. I do not hesitate to acknowledge that Mica is the best program and team I have worked with in my 25 year tenure with the practice. The software program for my Reception team and Account Revenue team is user friendly, has many options to navigate throughout the system and provides a wealth of information with just a few clicks. My entire staff finds the program easy to learn and is very efficient to use. Any questions we have are only a phone call away, calls are answered promptly and we are never left without a means to move forward with our task.

Cons

We have not experienced an issue with IMS/Mica that we could not resolve or find another way to work through our task.

Reason for choosing IMS

Athena shut down our income flow for months, after that we were very cautious and skeptical. We had numerous conversations with IMS/Mica and what we learned made it unanimous among our management that Mica would provide us a good service and assist us in all set-up and never leave us without support and assistance no matter how long we are business associates.

Medical Manager was phasing out the program. Before IMS/Mica we attempted to engage with two other companies, both unsuccessful. I talked to Mica and hoped they would be a good fit and they were an excellent fit across the board.

We now have the convenience of having all our records in one place, no more searching for charts, no more misplaced charts, everthing is at your finger tips. We have noticed that our documentation is better and more extensive, we are able to do better follow up on our patients that require periodic testing, scanning and lab work. The accounts receivable is much easier to follow up on and work. The scheduling function has decreased the number of scheduling errors, as we can now see everones schedule at the same time and you can see if the room you need is already booked, the functionality of the scheduling module is so much better than our previous system.

Pros

We like the fact that our record keeping and followup care for our patients is so much improved. With this system we can set reminders, when patients need followup scans or appt's. We can track referrals so much easier. Our documentaion is better. The system is easy to use, I have had several new employees over the last year that were able to work on the system from day one, it doesn't take long to show someone the basics of the system in regards to finding a patient, locating their chart, reviewing their chart and making visit notes in the chart.

Cons

It is difficult to think of something I like least. I guess the report function is sometimes difficult to use. There are so many reports that IMS is able to pull sometimes it is difficult to narrow it down to the particular report I want. General customer service is very quick to help me locate the one I need, so it is not really a problem, just something I wish I had more time to delve into.

Pros

Fairly simple to use once it is set up for your practice. It took very little time for the staff to transition to using this software. MICA provides outstanding support and any issue is resolved quickly.

Cons

Overall we are very happy with IMS. The reason I gave it 4 stars for functionality is that the Point of Sale (POS) module is not great. We sell products in the office and the POS module isn't very retail oriented. Not a deal breaker by any means just wish it was a little better.

They are constantly updating and improving. It's good right now, but we are always excited for the changes.

Pros

The improvements I envision to customize it to our investors' needs are recognized by IMS. Not all of my requests are fulfilled right away, but they always take note of our needs and let us know that they will work on it.

Cons

The fact that a lot of the features and custom messages i'm hoping to already have don't exist yet.

It has helped us improve the work flow in the office and patient care.

Pros

I like the immunization feature. You can link the CPT code with the ICD-10 code and the lot number.

Cons

I do not like the fact that there is no space in the demographics where to put the Advance Health Care Directive Code (DNR).
