February 11, 2019

I used LibrarySoft when I was the sole librarian at a nursing school under a hospital, for not quite five years. I thought LibrarySoft was easy to learn and was efficient in cataloging and uploading records to the online catalog.

Pros

The cataloging module was effective in adding new records when uploading from floppy disc. Editing records was very easy. After cataloging records were completed, they automatically uploaded to the online catalog.

Cons

When uploading cataloging records from floppy disc, sometimes the fields (Subject, Publisher, etc.) displayed in the wrong lines, so editing was involved, which became time-consuming. Also, customer support was in Seattle, three time zones earlier, so I had to wait until at least noon to call if there problems.
