Had to call Support once and he was so helpful. Attended my first webinar that answered a lot of questions as well. My experience so far with ChurchTrac has been a good experience. Pros ChurchTrac is very friendly user. I like the attendance keeper part, because it is so easy and teachers can do their attendance automatically in the system themselves. I like the Worship part, which our Worship Team is looking forward to start using to the fullest. The accounting seems to be easier than last system I used. But most of all, I appreciate the Support group! This is something we did not have on the last system and it was the pits. Cons The Worship part is the only part, I am really struggling with a little. But it is the one that I have not done much in it yet. Not sure about the Connect Web page, due to that is our MMS area and they will be taking care of that area. Reason for choosing ChurchTrac Board had me check this one out due to the cost first. Fell in love with it and gave my approval. So we really did not look at the other ones that was on the list that was presented. Pastor / Treasurer Religious Institutions Used the software for: Less than 6 months ### "Comprehensive CMS " September 6, 2022 5.0 It has been a great blessing as it reduces my amount of time each week to update all accounting/giving data from 5-6 hours a week to about 30 minutes on one day. Pros Straight forward set up and quick start with free integration of directory data. The accounting system (giving and ledger) are straight forward in their respective applications and ease of use. It helps to have some accounting basics beforehand, but even without this, the online videos and webinars are a big help, especially the Q&A. The reporting features are a real bonus for monthly, quarterly, annual, and especially EOY giving reports. Integration with other apps and ability to link to an existing website is another big bonus. Cons It would be helpful to highlight inside the editing screen or with the online help documents the critical info needed when setting up the directories, as this is what connects to all other software features. It would be helpful to provide more instructions on the Stripe integration for a website. The integration with ChurchTrac and Connect is seamless, but attempting to find the correct link or iFrame data to put inside an existing website for giving is nearly impossible to find, and Stripe's help is not very helpful. This is especially needed for those without website modification skills. If ChurchTrac had a Stripe "expert" or an inside contact at Stripe, this would be great! (I am not on FB or Twitter, so cannot chat with other online folks about their experiences.) Secretary/Treasurer Religious Institutions Used the software for: Less than 6 months ### "Great software for smaller churches" March 24, 2022 4.0 ChurchTrac has solved lots of issues we were having in the past. Mass emails and texts are a lot easier now. And our members have expressed liking to access their info on their phones. Pros This software has condensed our expenses because it offers a lot of platforms to use in one software. We condensed from using 3 different softwares into just ChurchTrac which is not only cheaper, but less time consuming. Cons On the Donation Management, printing the weekly report is quite a few steps compared to the software we used before. Also adding in the donations could be tweaked. On the previous software, it was easy to click "tab" to enter everything in whereas now you have to click each box. July 1, 2022 5.0 Excellent!!!! Pros I think the thing that has put Churchtrac ahead of everyone else is that you are constantly improving your product and the ease of using it. Cons Really the only thing I can think of is the multitude of applications in this product. It was overwhelming at first, but I honestly don't know what we would do without it. I was previously using one program for the bank register, another for the app/website, and still another for church management. Now I only have to open one program! Cons I've lost the functionality to create groups and message within the app, but that is a small price to pay for the smooth operation between Android and IOS. I wish I had the ability to view and perhaps print a month calendar instead of clicking each individual day to change anything.Lots of "clicking" to get things done sometimes. Pros It does what we need without giving us things that we don't that increase its cost. And it does it in an easy to use way so that others can come on board with it easily. Cons We're still learning all the ins and outs of the accounting piece, and the reconciliation process could be easier if we didn't have to try reconciling all the way from the beginning but could go on a month by month with our bank statements. October 20, 2022 5.0 The product is an exceptional value and provides our small congregation with a platform that we would not be able to normally afford. From the beginning, Churchtrac has been true to their mission and have consistently introduced new features accompanied by quality support. Because of Churchtrac, we had a familiar platform to help us maintain communication with our members and supporters during the COVID-19 pandemic. Using the Connect feature allowed us to be accessible to them and to others. As the congregational leader, having Churchtrac has part of our minstry gives me more confidence when casting vision, developing plans, and making operational decisions. Whether I am moved by the Holy Spirit at 2am or someone brings something to my attention at 2pm, Churchtrac is just a series of keystrokes and clicks away. Pros What I like most about Churchtrac is it's value. I don't know of another "Church" platform that offers the features and the consistent platform development they offer for the price point. Cons Churchtrac is a bit "clunckie" and has a learning curve. But Churchtrac's support provides step-by-step instructions and is responsive when the videos and documentation aren't enough. Pastor Religious Institutions Used the software for: Less than 6 months ### "New church plant" March 7, 2024 5.0 It took awhile to set up but I was self taught and had a lot of moving parts to incorporate. So far my members are extremely impressed with the user interface and the admin account is working great for me. We will build our church directory this way which is also a huge savings of time and money. I really like that I was able to drop quick books and pay for this with a little less a month. All of the features we get with Churchtrac would be hundreds a month if it had to pay for it individually. I like that we can do backgrround checks right in the system and the other add in apps like sms. I have used planning center before and for us this is a way better system and easier to use. Thank you for supporting churches in this way. Pros I love how easy it is to set up and use the product. There is an app that church members can use. I also love that they can see their annual giving online and that they are grouped by families with individual profiles. I set up the whole account on my own in a day. Cons Not having a phone number to call when I needed help. You can schedule something for a future call but that wasn't what I needed. I figured stuff out on my own but a support line would have been helpful. Reason for choosing ChurchTrac We are a new church plant so price was our biggest concern. I also wanted something that would grow with us so we wouldn't have to switch later. The services we need were all wrapped into one great price with Churchtrac and even at unlimited names/users it is still less than the starting point monthly cost with other products. I have watched its progress and expansion since it was a basic, DOS-based bookkeeping and contributions-tracking program. It has always been an excellent program for non-accountants.In its present form, I consider it one of the finest church management systems (not program - system) available. The simplicity of use as compared to the features and related reports astounds me. The pricing structure, as it has been from the beginning, is at a level that might be expected of a mission driven, not-for-profit cooperative. Pros Ease of use, resulting reports, functionality. Cons As with any complex system, there may be a few issuses crop up from time to time, but this system has been expanded and tested for years. I have not encountered any major issues. " September 6, 2023 5.0 I've been struggling to get my Accounting books up the proper way they need to be. Not by anyone's fault but my own, but I'm determined that within this new fiscal year they are going to be set up and running properly. Pros We use the people and family set up quite a bit. I use the giving and Accounting screen quite frequently and there are others who use the Connect and email screens. I honestly believe just about ALL portions of ChurchTrac is used in on way or another. Cons In all honesty, I don't know of any certain portions if ChurchTrac one wouldn't like. Vice-President Religious Institutions Used the software for: 1-2 years ### "Easy and AFFORDABLE Church Management" February 8, 2020 5.0 Another thing I like about ChurchTrac is they know what they do best and don't try to be everything to everyone. Doing so just adds too much complexity and makes software difficult to use. We really wanted then to add file sharing. Many of the popular ones didn't fit what we needed. They politely declines and pointed out there are a number of third parties that already do that. We eventually found an easy to use and affordable solution. Also, they had a rather primitive payroll module that we were using. After careful consideration they came to the conclusion that the amount of time and money they were spending to keep it up to date didn't make sense since there were plenty of other options. So, they provided plenty of advance notice along with some suggested companies that did non-profit payroll. Pros AFFORDABLE: ChurchTrac offers unparalleled VALUE. Even the smallest of churches can afford to have a robust set of features: Member Management, Online Giving, Finances, Communications (by phone, e-mail, text) and Calendars are the ones we use most. We also are able to produce our pictorial directory of members using ChurchTrac. It's the first time we have been able to do it without a lot of extra help and expense. EASY TO USE: As a new user, I appreciated the informative pop-up help text available throughout the software. DOCUMENTATION: There are thorough guides available online that provide more detailed instructions on how to use the system. SUPPORT: They are very responsive and helpful when you need them. Cons I wasn't impressed with their Payroll module. It was primitive and had some peculiar glitches. They realized this, too and made the appropriate call (see below). Was unsure as to whether I should buy the program. Did so because of the low price. Not I would not be without it. November 4, 2020 5.0 I think being able to email to the entire congregation, enter accounting, giving and child check in, it just makes it the best program and user friendly! Pros I really like that everything is in one place. You can track attendance, membership database, accounting, giving, etc. When I started using ChurchTrac it was a desk top program. Not online. But everything transferred over and was even better than before! I have worked for the church almost 6 years and I have ChurchTrac open all day as I am working! We just recently started using the Child Check In and that works fabulous! I have spent countless hours on the phone and thru email with \[SENSITIVE CONTENT HIDDEN\] and she is the best tech support and I would highly recommend anyone that is new and is struggling with the program to reach to her! Cons I don't there is anything that I don't really like about it. You can create reports for almost anything, you just have to learn how to use the program. Pastor Religious Institutions Used the software for: 2+ years ### "Best business decision our church has made" December 8, 2021 5.0 What I appreciate the most is how ChurchTrac keeps evolving by adding new features and helping churches stay relevant in the technology and mobile space. Online Giving revolutionized the way our ministry takes in donations and almost eliminated the administrative burden we were accustomed to. Church Connect took us to another level and allowed our pastors and elders to share resources with our members in a safe, secure environment. Customer Support is AMAZING!!! I can't say enough for how efficient, professional and courteous they are whenever we've had a question or a problem. Pros The ease of use was a determining factor in our ministry going from a totally manual system to a church management software. I was skeptical of this in the beginning, thinking we'd use it to get ourselves organized and then move on to something else, but features in ChurchTrac kept getting added and the value kept increasing Cons As powerful as it is, I think the membership creation feature is too complicated. As a pastor, I appreciate and understand all the choices available but training someone to properly input has presented some challenges. I think a basic creation step should be first and then the extra details and identifiers can be added later when appropriate. We did an exhaustive search of the available systems and chose ChurchTrac. We made an excellent choice. Pros The capability of this software and the training and support we receive is amazing for the modest investment. We wanted to start with a CMS system and avoid the problem of growing with disparate systems. ChurchTrac is the perfect system for our needs. Using ChurchTrac with the Church Connect functionality is allowing us to have the capability of the higher end CRMs without taxing our budget. The support we receive and the training videos are amazing. I strongly recommend emerging churches look seriously at this software. I love it. Cons I would like to have the ability to build and track my budget by month. I am sure the developers will get this functionality added. We are using Quickbooks for our gov't-required accounting, but for the day-to-day bookkeeping, ChurchTrac even handles that! I especially love how it intgrates giving with bookkeeping so well. Pros ChurchTrac integrates everything I could possibly need for all aspects of church administration: people tracking, attendance, giving, receipting, income, expenses, processes, follow up, tracking screening, messaging (email & text), people reports, budget tracking & reporting, online directory (I print only as needed now), congregational access to their own giving record & contact information, ... the list goes on. I haven't found any other software that does as much as ChurchTrac. I recommend it to everyone. The price is also outstanding for what you get. Can't find anything more reasonably priced! Cons Would love to be able to sort people on the people screen by membership status & attendance, and would love to see individual attendance on the people screen.
