We became clients when changes occurred with our staff during the pandemic. The accounting software is so much easier to understand and use than QuickBooks that we use ChurchTrac now exclusively. Pros We made the switch to ChurchTrac at the beginning of the pandemic and it has been a tremendous help in keeping our membership and attendance records up-to-date, as well as providing an affordable and easy to use online giving feature. This is the most-user friendly and easily accessible church database I've ever used. The customer support has always been readily available to us, and several webinars have been helpful for us as well. Cons Sometimes when using the site on my phone it's a little slow and difficult to navigate. Also, I don't like getting multiple emails a day about updates and information. It’s fingers are in almost everything we do. Pros It’s great that all of the different aspects of churchtrac integrate with each other and help each other. And the price for everything they do is incredible! Cons It would be nice if the transactions could auto link to the software, but it’s not difficult to import and reconcile transactions. Treasurer Religious Institutions Used the software for: 2+ years ### "Great Program for Our Church" March 22, 2023 5.0 With ChurchTrac we now have an accurate Membership database with all of the personal information we need. Pros ChurchTrac was very easy to set up and use. Their customer support is excellent. We were not able to integrate our old program but ChurchTrac was easy enough to customize in order to input the People/Membership information that we required. We also use this program to record our donations and print reports. I appreciate that we don't have to pay for something that we don't use. Cons As a church we do use envelope numbers for our members and it would be great to have the envelope number shown on the yearly tax receipt. Also the plan is based on names so it would be great to have more options as it jumps from 250 to 500 and then 500 to 1000. This is payable in US funds so the cost can be deceiving so it would be a great option to see what the actual cost would be in Cdn funds. Pastor Religious Institutions Used the software for: 2+ years ### "Very Helpful Church Software" May 16, 2024 5.0 The experience with ChurchTrac as a company has been amazing. The customer support is great, and I do see them slowly adding features. I look forward to seeing how this will grow even better over time. Pros The people management works great, and there are many ways to message people. The donor management and accounting features integrate well together. The scheduling of volunteers has made the process much easier. The distinction between accounts and funds makes it easy for churches, and running financial and budget reports is very easy. Overall the software is amazing and the customer support has been very quick and SO helpful! Cons There are a couple of little quirks. For those in Canada, it does not use double value entry accounting, so I have to enter the HST amount in the note line, export it as a CSV file, and then add it that way. It can still be tracked but it takes a few extra steps. Our worship team does not like it as much as previous software when it comes to using it on the platform in a service. The two things I love the most about ChurchTrac are the attendance/database, as well as the scheduling! Cons I won’t say there’s a part I don’t like, just some features we don’t use! Reason for choosing ChurchTrac ChurchTrac was the one affordable solution I found. The price literally couldn’t be beat. I didn’t even check out many other products due to price! Everything offered attendance + way more than I needed at a far heftier price. I appreciate their honesty, care and reaching out constantly to support and guide you through learning the platform. I am more of a technical person, but I can promise you, even if you're not technical, they will have support available to walk you through the process. Pros It's a full featured platform that rival all of the big names out there I looked at. The integrations are on point, the User Interface is very intuitive and development is ongoing. Have been with them for a little bit over a year and multiple additional features were added at no additional cost!!!Thank you! Cons The Accounting piece with ledgers and so forth can be deeper - but honestly, I wouldn't leave for that - based on their track record of improvements on the platform, I believe it's a matter of time. It's customizable and we can automate information that is displayed. Cons I do not have least liked at this junction of usage. Its support staff is top-notch and knows what they are doing Pros The software is all user-friendly. Not only do they keep it up to date but they add cool workable features without hicking up the price. Cons The only Con that I can think of about the software is how they have the pledges set up for individual people. They should be able to be reset/or updated from year to not. Having their giving carry over each year does not give you an accurate account of their pledges. I don't like not being able to speak with someone or at lease have them look a my information. Pros I can pull and print reports of the information I put in. Cons I liked the previous package better -- it was user friendly. This package is not easily walked thru to pull reports and input the information as the previous package. Someone has changed my login and password - there is not a way to speak with anyone for help! The steps provided did not work. I have been locked out all week and now starting another week. I am disgusted! Reason for choosing ChurchTrac It we something we used and we did not realize so much had changed with the new software. Whenever she visited a website, a popup would say that her computer failed a security check, and told her to call a toll free number answered by a person in India. This is a common scam that all internet users should be aware of....if you cannot access websites or accounts that you normally visit because they are being blocked by a popup, DO NOT call any numbers that are displayed on your screen in the popup. And absolutely DO NOT give anyone your personal information out to criminals who are posing as experts to help you fix your computer. Instead, reach out to the company or account directly to ask for assistance (use a different, un-infected computer to look up the number if necessary). In this case, we were able to help her disconnect her computer from the internet until the malware is removed by a qualified professional. DW Deborah W. Perfect for smaller churches" March 11, 2021 5.0 This program has been a time saver and I actually enjoy working in it throughout the day. Pros Integration was very easy. I did a data dump of my old program in ShelbyNext and sent the file to customer service at ChurchTrac and they took care of uploading it into ChurchTrac for me. The ChurchTrac customer service is amazing!! They always respond within minutes of me opening a ticket and make sure they follow through to completion. The software is very easy to use and I love that most of the member's information is on one screen so I'm not having to bounce around looking for information. I also using the giving module and it is very easy to enter. I love everything about this program and can't say enough good things about it. The other program we were using was not user friendly at all. I love that ChurchTrac was created by pastors because they really understand what information churches need to track. I've worked at 3 different churches and used multiple systems and this is by far my favorite and easiest to use so far. Cons The only thing that I could see needs improvement is the reports. They are very basic and don't really look polished. My biggest problem with the reports is printing a church directory and not really being able to manipulate what information I want to include or not. Most times when I run reports I export it to CSV so I can resort and reformat it to how we like it. I wish I didn't have to do that. But they are adequate. It was not user friendly and we had a hard time getting accurate reports from the system. It was also 6 to 7 times more expensive than what we're paying for ChurchTrac now. I would highly recommend it. All my interaction with staff has been great! Pros I like that keeping all information in one place. I love Church Connect that allows us to create a webpage and "app" and online giving. I love that I don't have to be a very computer savvy person to learn this software. And Customer service has been wonderful and the helpful articles for training are really good. Cons Well, I don't use the accounting features, so I cannot comment on those. Other ladies use that portion. For me, I would like to see background checks added to ChurchTrac. Also, a very small detail is that I would like to able to have bullet points or numbered points under a heading in the service schedule that I print each week. March 16, 2022 5.0 For the past 5 weeks, we've watched every video made on use of the software and we are already very happy we made this transition to ChurchTrac. The ChurchTrac tech team has been BEYOND HELPFUL, FRIENDLY, HAPPY, JOYFUL and it's very apparent they love their product and love helping us, their customers. The Zoom mtg for getting started was so helpful and at the end of our session, they asked how they could pray for us. That was very unique yet, of course, the mutual purpose we share together. Pros The price was our most important element. Beyond that the other attributes, tools, navigation of the software and the components were easy and powerful in helping us make our decision. Cons Our church transitioned to ChurchTrac from ACS - Realm where we had a peer-to-peer newsfeed and we don't have that exact feature with ChurchTrac. However, we needed to pull away from that feature anyway. It has provide us with many more.blessing then what our initial needs were for a database software. Pros I recently sent an email for help and within 24 hours they answered my question and the pro lem was resolved. This was a blessing because it was in training of others that the question came up. To have it fixed helped. Cons I can't setup a our weekly worship event with attendance as a reoccurring event with tags. I had to manual setup 52 weeks. They are super friendly and I love all the features that come at a low price! They really are about equipping churches and you can tell in their interactions with customers. Pros I personally have used several different church management software programs and this is my favorite by far! It is incredibly user friendly and has everything we were looking for. I LOVE the support they provide! They are quick to respond to emails and offer clear and helpful training for literally everything with their product. Cons The only "complaint" I have is that I wish there was an easier way to add kids to families other than creating their own profile, but I understand it's set up that way because of how they charge based on the size of the people you have in the system.
