### "Create amazing 3D models for your projects with MATLAB"

January 9, 2021

4.0

Overall, I have used MATLAB extensively for 2 of my projects in our organisation. We did make 3D models, but I constantly required inputs from an experienced MATLAB professional since the software is not easy-to-use for a new user. Therefore, if your requirement is long-term and will be dedicated to work on 3D modelling, consider taking beginner to advanced courses and post that you shall be ready to produce the required models.

Pros

1\. Powerfull toolset with which you can achieve any level of details in the software. 2. Granular controls are allowed in the tool which can help you create very detailed 3D models. 3. Widely accepted by the community and is accessible by most of the people in the modelling field. 4. Strong online community with experts (since this tool is in the market from quite some years). So you can always, find solutions to your problems with a simple Internet search.

Cons

1\. Good amount of hands-on experience is required to produce usable models. 2. Stock appearance of the tool becomes quite redundant for frequent users. More themes and colours can be added to the UI. 3. Vendor support cannot be availed without a license which can become a problem at times (in case solutions are not available on the open forums.)

### "MATLAB for engineers"

June 22, 2020

5.0

As an engineer, I have been using MATLAB for years. I highly recommend MATLAB to all the people out there who are looking for software for solving mathematical problems integrated with a reach visualization system for data plotting and representation.

Pros

Coding in MATLAB is straight-forward and does not include any fancy syntax compared to other coding languages available in the current market.

Cons

The Simulink portion of MATLAB has a good bunch of modules and tools available. What I feel is few of those simulink modules still lacks detailed documentation and should be improved.

### "MATLAB Review"

August 10, 2020

4.0

My overall experience with MATLAB is very positive. There are many alternate programs a user can use for data organization and MATLAB provides the best features and overall user experience.

Pros

MATLAB's importation of data features are very easy to use. There are many ways to not only import, but organize raw data so it can be used right away with the users program.

Cons

It can often be difficult to trouble shoot a users script. At times, the "help" features that analyze a user's script can confuse the user more than it can help.

Documentation is quite easier and intuitive which enables me to make different text files in more effective way. I really like its functions and interesting features.

Pros

I have excellent experience with MATLAB. It works perfect. Its programming language is so much easier to understand that even beginners can understand it so well. With all these features this software is my all-time favorite and worthy enough to buy it.

Cons

What I have to say about least things is. It is completely perfect tool that does not keep a single con. It is really appreciable product.

### "Good for coders"

January 28, 2019

5.0

Pros

You can create your own projects in a very short period of time and copy over old projects to create new ones. The file exports are easy to understand and can go into a stats software. You can make quick and easy projects or really get fancy with your coding and establish really sophisticated projects.

Cons

You need to have at least an elementary understanding of coding to work MATLAB. This isn't really a good software for beginners or those who have projects that can be better used on a survey making platform.

MATLAB is the scientific tool which is widely accepted by the research community. Calculations, data modelling, visualization can be accomplished with this. It even has add-ons/ integration with other software.

Pros

It's the default tool which is used in almost all the universities to model data and get results for the research.

Cons

There is a steep learning curve when using the software. If you are a researcher or an analyst then this tool is for you. Not for everybody

### "My take n MATLAB"

October 30, 2019

5.0

I've been quite happy with MATLAB tools, especially when prototyping numerical software or ML models. However, the lack of multi-platform support has been a thorn on my side.

Pros

Powerful tool for circuit simulation, useful for applications that naturally converge to matrix calculations such as image manipulation. Also, intuitive API for plotting.

Cons

Ugly interface, so so syntax highlight. Namespace and working directory manipulation isn't so intuitive as well. The lack of multi-platform support is also a huge letdown

### "Great software/language for modeling data and visualizing engineering problems"

September 9, 2019

5.0

I used this a lot in engineering college for several areas of study: math courses, signal processing courses, data computation/compilation courses. I would recommend the use of MATLAB for anybody looking for a good math and engineering problem solving tool.

Pros

This software/language is easy to learn. The online community surrounding MATLAB is so large that you can find help to accomplish your needs very easily. The user interface is good; it is geared towards college education level engineering, science, and math practices, as well as professional levels.

Cons

Nothing. Honestly, I have yet to find something that I really did not like about using MATLAB. Every function, feature, modeling tool, etc. has always been available.

### "Good mathematical software"

October 22, 2022

5.0

I've used MATLAB for decades in stimulus creation (with Psychophysics toolbox) and for data analyses and modeling.

Pros

I think the language is easy to learn and intuitive.

Cons

There are other products kind of like it that are free or much cheaper. Part of the issue is that I don't use all of its features; if you do, then it's more worth the money.

### "Getting started with MATLAB"

December 4, 2018

5.0

Pros

MATLAB offers great versatility for any type of calculation problem you want to solve, physics, statistics, control systems, mathematical models, signal analysis, etc. It is a very useful tool for students and academics. Use of graphical interfaces and charts is also very impressive as it will let you present the information in the way you want. Coding on MATLAB is also very intuitive, as it is very similar to other coding languages such as python or javascript.

Cons

MATLAB may be daunting at first, because of its many applications and uses, so it will take time to adapt to its many configurations and options, such as the use of libraries or code editor. The heavier the model, code or simulation you're trying to run will require you to upgrade your hardware as it demands a lot of your PC's resources, so it may not perform as good on low-cost PCs as it would on a last generation PC.

### "MATLAB has enabled me to complete summations and fourier series with ease."

July 10, 2018

5.0

Lots of saved time for personal projects over signals and systems analyses.

Pros

MATLAB allows you to simply many lengthy mathematic equations into something far more simple using programming logic. Being a python/c++ developer normally I was first caught off guard with the syntax, but adapting was easy and took less than 10 minutes. I was able to figure out convolution integrals and fourier series without referring to the documentation since the syntax was simply that intuitive.

Cons

Depending on the version of MATLAB you have there are some features that are missing and would require you to hackishly put together an alternative method. For example: piece-wise functions is on MATLAB R2017, but not on revision A of 2016 which led me to have to develop a much more messy way to have a piecewise function using heaviside functions.

### "Awesome for prototype, bad for final product."

March 18, 2019

5.0

I have used MATLAB during almost 5 years for different tasks related with signal processing, maths and statistics. It is amazing how easy is to create a prototype and grow it from there. Besides, it is very scalable, due to its great vectorial calculus optimization, which force you to think in a non-for-loops way. Nevertheless, when your software is very big, i do not recommend MATLAB. I think it is not easy to mantain, it is difficult to distribute and maybe other solutions (which of course require more time of work) fit better.

Pros

· Ease of use. · Huge variety of toolboxes for different purposes. · Good (not great) IDE in last versions (autocomplete, error solver, etc.). · Optimization for vectorial calculus.

Cons

· Bad GUI programming API (too difficult to obtain a good result). · Cost: it can be too expensive for some companies. · Limited compatibility with open source tools (basic programming is compatible with Octave).
