I am currently doing my University project on SImulink. It helped me alot by saving my time for writing thousands of lines of codes. Its gives us real time monitoring

Pros

1) Students can easily use Simulink to make a project instead of writing lengthy codes. 2)The documentation of MATLAB is excellent .I haven't seen such a detailed discussion of any block , function, etc in any other software

Cons

It does not provide each and every block in a Simulink. We have to make function by ourselves.

### "This is an excellent program for engineering evaluations and creating useful functions quickly."

June 20, 2018

5.0

Pros

What I like most about this software aside from its GUI interface that parallels looks and usability to popular programs such as MS Office is its publishing feature. I think it is great how a report can be written up within the code format and with the click of a button, a report can be published that included written text and a user organized format and presentation of functions performed within the script or program file. This makes it very convenient as it allows everything to be together in one file, with a report generated without the necessity of a word processing application and splice in excerpts from the script or program file.

Cons

While the product is an excellent value an customer support is outstanding, I do feel that it is still very very expensive. The expense is only worth it I feel if it is a program that will be used on a daily basis, otherwise, I feel the price tag may not be worth it for occasional users or those seeking the conveniences provided by it.

### "MATLAB Review"

November 13, 2018

5.0

I use MATLAB daily. I use it as it's simplest as a calculator, but I've also generated projectile motion and vehicle dynamics simulations to help visualize my work. Students can usually get cheap licenses. I think it is one of my most valuable tools as an engineer.

Pros

As an engineer, MatLab was the first coding software I was taught. I use MatLab almost daily basically as a super calculator. Anyone with coding fundamentals can use MatLab's language to solve their given problem. My business has a couple licenses, and interacting with the customer support has always been very simple and easy. It's post-processing and plotting capabilities are also simple and incredible.

Cons

What I like least is what others may like most. Matlab churns out biannual software updates, and if you don't update it, you will get a notification each time you boot it up. Since I use the software so frequently, sometimes these updates change up the interface and where various features are. When this happens, it's usually pretty easy to get reacclimated to the new

### "Review for MATLAB"

November 20, 2018

5.0

MATLAB is a very large platform for the programmer. So many times it is really tough to find out the exact keyword to write a code. Mathworks.com is platform where we can find many solution of MATLAB errors. But this website is not sufficient and it gives very concise solution and it is also backdated. So mathworks.com needs to update their solutions or tutorials.

Pros

This software is almost free. It is very easy to learn because most of the terms or the tutorials are very easy to find out in the online.

Cons

Some errors are very difficult to figure out. Like, one day I copied a code form one file to another file but it shows some errors, though the main file runs properly. I tried several time to figure out the problem but I failed. Then I tried some random thing to solve this problem like removing space and unfortunately it works.

### "a very useful software"

November 22, 2017

5.0

I have used Matlab for creating plotting data in graphical format to study mechanical strain relation. I have also used Matlab for optimization algorithms.

Pros

Matlab has a lot of functional features which could solve any complex numerical algorithms. The plots and graphical representation are very helpful than excel. The best part of matlab is it can iterate 1000 of design solutions for various inputs by just giving one code

Cons

The interface of matlab is not that much user friendly and also debugging errors is quite difficult. The processing duration gets a bit longer for complex fluid mechanics equation and optimisation algorithms.

### "Matlab is a good statistical tool to use"

June 17, 2022

4.0

Overall, Matlab is useful for statistical analysis. Anything beyond this I would not recommend this tool.

Pros

Matlab is a decent tool to use when needing to do statistical analysis or some basic coding to understand mathematical theories. I found the features useful for writing/running code efficiently and it was fast.

Cons

The items I like least about this product is that the data visualization and analytics beyond statistics is sub par. I wouldn't use this when I have tools like R that can perform better and is more advanced in these fields.

### "MATLAB REVIEW "

May 22, 2019

5.0

Currently i am working in signal and image processing, computational electromagnetics, Microwave and Radar systems. For solving all my Academic problems i always prefer MATLAB, even our professors also recommending MATLAB for Antenna and electromagnetic related problems.

Pros

I really loved this software, Since all of the library files are inbuilt in the software we don't require to add additional library. The other software like python, java requires adding additional libraries to operate some functions. But in MATLAB once you install the software you can easily start your coding. All of the functions , operators, etc are well explained in the help tool of MATLAB along with proper example. So as a Post graduate engineering student i always use MATLAB for signal and image processing.

Cons

The loading of software takes small time of delay.

### "This is a great programming tool for engineers and researchers"

April 29, 2019

4.0

Pros

Once you establish baseline competency in Matlab's programming language of choice, it is easy to set up pipelines to transform data and compute whatever you may need. This makes things like report generation, summaries, etc, very pain-free to create.

Cons

It is pretty expensive, but I think that it's worth it. The built-in IDE could have more features, like a better auth-complete for functions.

### "Good tool for numerical analysis"

January 19, 2020

5.0

Before switching to other programming languages, the software was or me very easy to use and very useful to understand some problem solutions.

Pros

I used Matlab back in the university to do some problems from numerical analysis. It contains many packages and you can easily find the necessary one if you have a product license.

Cons

Not about the software, but it was strange for me that in Matlab programming language arrays indexing is starting from 1. And about the software. As a student I didn't have so much finances to pay for that software, so I switched to open source languages.

### "Great for students"

September 26, 2019

5.0

It's an excellent way to get students comfortable with programming. We just wish it integrated with more LMS products like the Lockdown Browser.

Pros

Our engineering students have gotten a lot of hands on practice in programming code with this software. We use it for homework and exams.

Cons

Because we use this with online courses and need to cut down on academic dishonesty while testing, we were disappointed to find that you can't use this in conjunction with Respondus LockDown Browser, which is free. We had to get our tests using this proctored to make sure no cheating is occuring on exams while students use MATLAB.
