We support one of our products through chat support using Olark and I love it so far.

Pros

I use this product for about 8 hours everyday and it's only gone down maybe once or twice.

Cons

Can't think of any. It's been reliable so far.

Pros

Cons

I wish that there was a screenshare option. There used to be, but for some reason it was taken away.

Pros

Like that it can be implemented simply to your business web page and then accessed from your computer or phone.

Cons

Wish there were more detailed options to integrate with our CRM but so far it has proven to be worth the investment.

Pros

It's very easy to setup and start implementing onto your website. We like that we're able to see who are returning visitors or new visitors so that we can create a new chat accordingly. There's also built-in features that allows some automation so you can make sure you're meeting the needs of your customers, and responding to them in an effective manner. You're able to start a chat after a customer has visited x page, been on your website x number of minutes, and other additional requirements.

Cons

It would've been nice if it could sync with our shopping platform so we're able to see if it's a current customer to serve them even better. Also, I don't believe we're able to ask questions and poll like some other chat programs allow when you're not available to chat.

I am the sole user of Olark for my company. It's an incredibly good platform and easy to use. I have also found useful the feature which allows me to email transcripts to my various colleagues internally. The customer service is excellent! Highly recommended!

In all honesty, it isn't the most "feature rich" live chat system out there, but as far as doing what it says on the tin, it does just that. I would recommend as a starting platform into Live Chat for any business.

Pros

Nice design, simple to install, works with 3rd party apps.

Cons

Outages and loading issues far too often.

I really wish you could add screen shots or attach pictures. Also some emojis would be nice. It is easy to use but when only text is available it is difficult to read a person's emotion or reaction.

One of our favourite features is that when our operator is off line we can hide the button completely. This is great because it doesn't make us look like nobody's here at all. Also, the seasonal theme's are cool too. Love the Christmas ones. Thanks!

My organization runs a series of institutional research projects that were supported until 2016 by Fluidsurveys (RIP). The Olark plug-in for Fluidsurveys was a nearly perfect low-cost solution to expand our technical and interpretive support to survey respondents, since it was quickly and easily implemented, and required very little training. After a little bit of in-house testing specific to our business needs, we were soon able to provide real-time support and reduce incoming emails and phone calls, so it was a win for our organization and our survey respondents.

Pros

Low cost, simple design, easy to use, intuitive.

Cons

I wish it was available as a plug-in with other online survey systems, since the tool I used it with (Fluidsurveys) is being retired by Surveymonkey.

Pros

Olark is a great feature to use. We let our customers know that for an online chat service Olark gives you many options and even a free option. I have recommended this to many of my customers.

Cons

Actually this software if worth getting. There are no cons as they do offer a free service as well and as I stated many of my customers use this service so their customers can chat live on the website.

Pros

Olark has an extremely simple integration with our e-commerce site (Nomad). It's as simple as copying one code into our site and voila! It works. You're able to see what pages your site visitors are on and can initiate a chat box at any point. You can have auto-responder messages and can let users leave a message if you don't have anyone logged in to accept chats. Overall a great product!

Pros

Olark offers the best feature/price combination for our needs for now. We like the co-browsing feature which is pretty straightforward for our clients and doesn't require much explanation on how to use it. If we rarely need support from Olark they usually answer the questions fast and thoughtful. Some of the companies we tried before only provided canned suggestions. Not the case with Olark.

Cons

The chat doesn't support file attachment feature. It forces the users to send the screenshots (of a previously encountered error e.g.) separately and our support folks have to attach the files to the issues later by hand.

automated messages when our emplyees are offline, it helps a lot managing our customer service requests.

Pros

Integration with Shopify is just as smooth as butter. We never had any issues with it so far. So we are keeping this one.

Cons

The pricing i a bit pricey for a chat software. But considering that it comes with automated messages, which is important to us, i think the price is worth it for our application.

Pros

Olark is a great option to allow communication through chat on your ecommerce website. Addressing customer questions and concerns was a breeze.

Cons

There are certain limitations to what you can do in the Olark platform. Some other chat platforms outclass Olark in that aspect.
