We had never used live chat on our site before trying Olark and it took no time to figure out how it works! Now we find our customers love how quick and easy it is to use and it saves a few phone calls!

Pros

We don't have many staff as operators so being able to turn it off for lunches/meetings is such an essential feature for us.

Olark had nice functionality for communicating with live chat with website users. We used the product within a team of sales reps through rotation and it was fairly easy to use and it did the job we needed it to.

Pros

Olark was an easy-to-use platform that integrated with website chat with a former company. Chats came through in real-time and there were no specific disruptions and it did the job we needed it to connect with website visitors.

Cons

Was sometimes difficult to manage chats by conversation in the dashboard. This was a few years ago so product improvements may have already happened.

Olark is a cheaper alternative to Intercom or more design oriented chat tools, works good and the interface altough not the fluidest does its job. The new rolled out updates brought some fresh design and features but Api calls are still slow. I can highly recommend the tool, customer support is first class .

Love the LiveChat feature! OLark is an inexpensive way to get in contact with customers in the moment. They have smart features that send certain messages to customers based on your preferences which I really like, and an away message so customers can send you a message when you're not there that gets sent to your inbox. Love the cute boxes and how I can change them based on the season and the theme of my website. Great addition!

Pros

Inexpensive in comparison to competitors. Since I am the only one that answers the chats it's not worthwhile for me to purchase an expensive multi-user system.

Cons

I don't hear the beep when I get a message or I forget to turn it off when I walk away. Not really your issue, though!

Can communicate with customer easily, get there messages directly to the back end. Trail period usage can’t identify the all features. If the trail period can be extended the app should be great, and they should not collect card details.

I loved it, used it and recommended it and then found tawk.to which is honest to god the same tool but free. Game changer.

Pros

This is a great tool. In a vacuum I would say its the best thing since sliced bread. However, we do not live in a vacuum and other tools exist that do the same job for free.

Cons

Well I get billed every month and that literally stabs my wallet and chest simultaneously.

I would recommend Olark to any company that wants to give the customers/potential customers different avenues to communicate. Some people like to call in, some people like to email, and some people like chat. For chat, Olark is great!

Pros

This is a super great way to talk to customers fairly effortlessly. You can answer support questions and talk with potential buyers and nudge them in the right direction. It saves us a lot of time from tedious phone calls and our customers prefer it too.

Cons

Unfortunately as is the case with most add-ons, they slow down your pages. With Olark my pages load slower than they used to, it's not unbearable but it is noticeable. It would also be nice if it integrated with more programs, specifically CRMs. They don't have integrations for ZoHo or InfusionSoft yet.

I like most that you can pull in different site analytic data into one dashboard that you can easily share with clients and coworkers.

Cons

There is not much I don't like, I wish that you cadd add more than one user per account. I think right now you have to pay for multiple users.

Pros

I really like that I am able to see what our sales team talks to our customers about daily in the transcripts. I also like that we get a weekly update to say what each sales rep has done during the week. Olark is really good for letting you know when someone sends you a missed chat.

Cons

I don't like that the CRM cannot be translated into hubspot with each person that is spoken to.

We transitioned to Olark for our website based chat functionality. Setting the options and copying the code into place couldn't have been any easier to do. We're very pleased - so are our customers!

Pros

Ease of use and configuration.

Cons

There is no ability to designate chat availability schedule. This is huge. If operators fail to "go offline, or sign out" when they leave at the end of the day then chat experience for website visitors sets the expectation there is someone on the other end...when there isn't. We need to be able to assign our business hours in COMBINATION with our operators logging in and out.
