### "Great chat solution"

We've been using Olark for two years on our website and usually perform at least 3 chats every business day with it. The chat interface and its behavior are nicely customizable to match our site's appearance and business workflow. Favorite features include the integration (we use Sugar CRM) for passing records of chats back into our CRM and marketing automation system (inbox25) and what Olark calls its Targeted Chat capability, where we can have automatic behaviors initiated for certain types of visitors on certain pages of our site, e.g. automatically initiating discussions with website visitors from North America who spend longer than a minute looking at our case studies. We're fans of Olark and recommend it. Try it out on our site if you haven't already - it integrates quickly and is easy to test.

Pros

Support is very responsive. Company uses Olark chat service itself for support - so you always end up getting a real person in real time during (West Coast) business hours.

Cons

Occasional service disruptions, but rarely longer than a few minutes.

The interface to super easy to use, and building chat views are a breeze. The integration aspect is seamless and isn't painful like some other chat systems.

Cons

There are free options out there that are similar. On occasion, I have experienced some outages, which is frustrating for customers.

I like the Olark interface and, as far as chat functions go, Olark may have the most to offer. I think it's great as a customer service channel but somewhat lacking as a lead generation and sales device.

Pros

With more and more business being done over the phone, some customers prefer to avoid business interactions or to limit them as much as possible. Olark makes it easy for those customers to engage business and ask questions on their terms: comfortably, quickly, and with little pressure. They can engage your organization in a chat directly from your website. Organizations, meanwhile, can easily engage multiple customers simultaneously through Olark.

Cons

While Olark shines as a customer service device, I'd venture to say that it takes too much pressure off of customers from a sales standpoint. If a prospective customer prefers not to come into your store or even call you over the phone, the odds of that customer making a purchase are relatively low. I have seen a low volume of qualified leads generated through Olark.

### "Great tool for connecting"

Pros

I really like the preset features that allow you to connect with a customer who is stuck. Gives a real chance to feel like shopping in a retail environment.

Cons

The mobile platform could use some improvements, but overall really like the software and happy we implemented it.

### "Nice live chat tool"

We had a small startup, and we decided to use some live chat tool to react to our customers' questions quicker. We tried Olark and the idea totally worked. While we did provide email support, we discovered that lots of people liked using live chats to get a quick answer to their questions. They even preferred to use live chat to send us emails when we were not around (if there's nobody to chat live with you, olark offers to send you an email). When my friend had his startup, I shared my experience with him and advised to use olark as a live chat too. As far as I know, he also liked the results, so you may want to try it out yourself.

Pros

Cons

Generally I liked the software very much. Sometimes it glitched on our website for some unknown reason, but I don't know the specifics, so probably the issue was on our side.

I think chat is better the supporting customers over the phone, since you can easily send the links to the correct URL

Pros

Olark lets you see what pages the customer had viewed, what page they are on, and even what referred them to your website. It also tells you if the customer is new or if they are returning customer.

Cons

I wish there was a way for the system to know when I walk away from my desk so that customers aren't talking to an unoccupied chat!

Pros

The interface is quite easy to manage for customer service representatives. As an administrator, the settings and back-end are super simple to customize and activate to tailor to your website's needs. The installation and adaptability of the code into your site is almost instantaneous.

Cons

Although it is one of the most affordable solutions in terms of website chat applications, there is still a cost to bear in comparison to a free option like installing Facebook messenger to your shopify website. However, you would reach a broader audience with the olark service.

Excellent performance. I was happy I could view transcripts, agent performance, and activity among other stuff. Olark is easy to use and I recommend it for newbies.

Pros

Ability to see where the customers come from. Ability to create shortcuts to increase response time in case the customer chats. Olark introduced translator. Notifications when a new customer sends a message Ability to customize specific messages for the customers Tgging, blocking, ending chats and shortcuts made easy

Cons

The popup message to pay was ever on screen. I never liked it though it was my obligation.

We like the product and have used it in over two different companies.

Pros

Best Chat tool for front end UI because its a small bubble on the page and allows your users to be able to actively reach out to people on the website, you can see who is on the webpage, as well as integrate directly with SFDC.

Cons

It does not have a lot of OOTB integrations with some of our tech stack which isnt a deal breaker.

Pros

For web chat between customer service and customer it works and has the same features everyone else has. Above that it has granular control over push notifications for instances. For example it can identify when a user is likely to leave your page.

Cons

Doesn't have KB, chat, and offline email integration the way it should be. No one does and their is an opportunity for someone to come up with a single website widget that integrates all 3 of those functions so you don't have to clutter your site with lots of different messaging apps.

Pros

I found it really helped with assisting our customer with any questions or problems they may of had, as a lot of our customer don't like picking up the phone so it allowed us to help them in real time.

Cons

We did have a problem where customer support wasn't the fastest at replying.. ironic really.. but this was a one time issue, apart from that they are been great!

Its a great tool and we got a lot of customers through this, great tool for products on all types !

Pros

Olark is a good tool, which we use on some of our websites. It has good features that is very much needed for engaging with customers. We are happy with their support and their new UI is really good. Olark also has really good features in which we can gain insights about customer behaviors and actions they took on our website.

Cons

They are really slow in some cases and in some times the chat gets delayed and we began to loose customers.

Pros

While the free trial was limited in scope, a paid subscription ups the available features to include unlimited chats, automation, and a per chair subscription which kept cost low & chats easily managed.

Cons

The integration choices are fairly limited in comparison with other chat platforms, and the free plan is extremely limited. Even a small business would need more than 1 operator at times.

Olark is a great first ever live chat software. It is super easy to set up and use. While it may lack features, everything critical is already there and working. So if you don't need any extra bells and whistles - Olark will work well for you.

Pros

The biggest advantage of Olark is how easy it is to install and have it running in no time. The dashboards features pretty extensive analytics and chat history. Customer support was also pretty quick when I had an issue. They also have a mobile app but I rarely used it.

Cons

I think the biggest con is that very same simplicity that makes it easy to use. I have had hard time generating a really detailed CSV report about the chat history of our team with timestamps, client emails, names, etc. The customization of the whole Olark experience for both us and the client is also pretty lacking.

### "Switched To Olark; Wish We Switched Sooner!"

Pros

Olark is super easy to use. We originally were using a free live chat software...and what we learned is that free is not always better. Olark was our top choice and we started with a free trial. After 2 weeks of the free trial, we knew we had to be a paying customer. Super easy to set up, to customize, and our users love it. It is just like texting (similar chat bubbles...you can see when the person is typing, etc) and so it feels familiar for users. We've increased chats and increased our satisfied customers!

Cons

My only con is that you have to pay "per seat". In our previous live chat software, we were able to just purchase one seat and have two people monitoring that seat. With Olark, each login needs its own seat. This is an added expense, but Olark is competitive with their pricing. It is worth the extra cost for us.

It allows me a greater margin of communication with many people, allowing my organization to make itself known through personalized pre-chat surveys, detailed information about visitors and detailed reports, generating a previous empathy between us and the clients.

Pros

The versatility that this tool has to integrate efficiently with Mailchimp one of my most efficient alternative messaging or the unalterable ability to use Google Analytics tools make this Chat system a powerful tool to connect with the right client, in the Right place, at the right time.

Cons

As for the negative elements The live chat from Olark has not allowed me to even talk to some customers directly from the Groove widget the other has been that the automatic sending of the chat transcripts from my help box in Scout to facilitate communications with some person has not occurred in the time that was aspired.

Olark works very well for what it is. Besides the occasional outages, it works exactly as described. We love being able to chat with our customers, but sometimes it would be handy to be able to send a screenshot of what we’re looking at on our end. Otherwise, it works great.

Pros

Olark is very easy to use for all participants. We were concerned that it would be difficult for our website visitors to get the hang of, but we’ve not had any complaints so far! It’s very easy for us to use as well. We especially like the chat log feature. It helped us create a database of commonly-asked questions, which helps us when we have a new employee answering the chats.

Cons

We’ve experienced a few outages, but they weren’t very long. We were able to get back up and running within minutes, which is very important. The ability to share images with the visitors to our website would be handy. Other than that, we haven’t had any issues.

Olark makes it super easy for customers to interact quickly and efficiently with our staff.

Pros

This program is so easy to use that everyone in our office has taken a turn! We love that it can be a subtle, yet helpful, add on to our website. We also like seeing who is on our site and being able to recall past chats. The price point is also very affordable.

Cons

Probably the most frustrating part is that we had a few times when the alarm noise just shut itself off and we missed a few chats before we realized what happened and turned the alert sound back on.

This is a very easy turn-key solution to customer website chat. Our agents find the software very easy to use. Our customer really love the chat and ask us anything about our products and services, and often even place orders with our agents. Olark has been an invaluable addition to our customer service philosophy. Some things I wish Olark had the ability to do: 1. Block a user from entering a credit card number (yes, it happens) or custom RegEx matches, 2. allow customers to chat with us via SMS on their phones (our agents would chat in the same chat window that they currently do), and 3. have an Olark Android app so our agents can chat with customers after hours if needed (yes, we would pay them :-). Over all the experience has been very positive. Olark's customer service is caring and responsive. I would recommend trying Olark (really it's easy to implement or turn off). You've got nothing to lose, really. You can customize almost everything about it from the user's point of view.

Pros

VERY easy to implement and customize. Great use experience.

Cons

Can't think of anything right now.

Olark has been a very great tool for my team to use. It creates a way for us to reach our customers via different avenues. We get many chats every single day and our customers appreciate being able to use this to get a hold of us without picking up the phone.

Pros

Olark is very easy to use, it is cost efficient, and it gives you insights to your customers that you would not have otherwise known.

Cons

If you have a large sales team you will need a lot of logins for Olark. This can take it from an inexpensive tool to a relatively expensive one.

Pros

We wanted to offer our software customers a channel for support and Olark seemed like a good choice. The interface is easy to navigate, and they have done a good job of thinking through the experience, like being able to customize and "away" message and the confirmation message. It is also very easy to implement with just a couple lines of code.

Cons

The biggest problem with Olark is its reliability. We are currently in the process of switching away from it because we would be online, ready to chat, and customers would tell us that on their end it wasn't showing up. There were multiple planned and unplanned outages, and it cost us some good will with our customers.
