Pros

The interface to super easy to use, and building chat views are a breeze. The integration aspect is seamless and isn't painful like some other chat systems.

Cons

There are free options out there that are similar. On occasion, I have experienced some outages, which is frustrating for customers.

I like the Olark interface and, as far as chat functions go, Olark may have the most to offer. I think it's great as a customer service channel but somewhat lacking as a lead generation and sales device.

Pros

With more and more business being done over the phone, some customers prefer to avoid business interactions or to limit them as much as possible. Olark makes it easy for those customers to engage business and ask questions on their terms: comfortably, quickly, and with little pressure. They can engage your organization in a chat directly from your website. Organizations, meanwhile, can easily engage multiple customers simultaneously through Olark.

Cons

While Olark shines as a customer service device, I'd venture to say that it takes too much pressure off of customers from a sales standpoint. If a prospective customer prefers not to come into your store or even call you over the phone, the odds of that customer making a purchase are relatively low. I have seen a low volume of qualified leads generated through Olark.

Amazing, responsive customer support. Stats are helpful and easy to follow. Ability to manage and monitor employees is top notch.

Cons

My company uses iMessage via Olark. Love the integration and ease of use, but inability to upload attachments to send to customers is frustrating.

### "Nice live chat tool"

We had a small startup, and we decided to use some live chat tool to react to our customers' questions quicker. We tried Olark and the idea totally worked. While we did provide email support, we discovered that lots of people liked using live chats to get a quick answer to their questions. They even preferred to use live chat to send us emails when we were not around (if there's nobody to chat live with you, olark offers to send you an email). When my friend had his startup, I shared my experience with him and advised to use olark as a live chat too. As far as I know, he also liked the results, so you may want to try it out yourself.

Cons

Generally I liked the software very much. Sometimes it glitched on our website for some unknown reason, but I don't know the specifics, so probably the issue was on our side.

I think chat is better the supporting customers over the phone, since you can easily send the links to the correct URL

Pros

Olark lets you see what pages the customer had viewed, what page they are on, and even what referred them to your website. It also tells you if the customer is new or if they are returning customer.

Cons

I wish there was a way for the system to know when I walk away from my desk so that customers aren't talking to an unoccupied chat!

I set up Olark for a web page where the user was an adult from 50 to 60 years old. With Olark we managed to help many people to understand the page and the possibilities.

Pros

With Olark you can be connected with your potential customers in a simple way. You can know what part of the web they are visiting, their operating system, their browser and even share a screen to help in a direct way. You can also configure different questions / answers for different pages. It is very useful! In addition, it is very easy to configure!

Cons

The design system is limited and often does not adapt to the needs of the website.

Pros

The interface is quite easy to manage for customer service representatives. As an administrator, the settings and back-end are super simple to customize and activate to tailor to your website's needs. The installation and adaptability of the code into your site is almost instantaneous.

Cons

Although it is one of the most affordable solutions in terms of website chat applications, there is still a cost to bear in comparison to a free option like installing Facebook messenger to your shopify website. However, you would reach a broader audience with the olark service.

We like the product and have used it in over two different companies.

Pros

Best Chat tool for front end UI because its a small bubble on the page and allows your users to be able to actively reach out to people on the website, you can see who is on the webpage, as well as integrate directly with SFDC.

Cons

It does not have a lot of OOTB integrations with some of our tech stack which isnt a deal breaker.

Pros

For web chat between customer service and customer it works and has the same features everyone else has. Above that it has granular control over push notifications for instances. For example it can identify when a user is likely to leave your page.

Cons

Doesn't have KB, chat, and offline email integration the way it should be. No one does and their is an opportunity for someone to come up with a single website widget that integrates all 3 of those functions so you don't have to clutter your site with lots of different messaging apps.

Olark is a great chat tool. When you focus on one part of customer support like they did (chat), you end up with a good product. Pricing: I like their pricing policy. You can define the actual number of operators and get billed accordingly. You can go up and down on that number as you need. Functionality: Both the chat client and the operator view are easy to use. There is enough functionality to allow you to transfer chats between operators, ask for feedback, etc. Another great feature is sending some visitor information from your website where you use the client to the operator. For example, if your users log in, you can transfer the user information, email, etc for the operator to see. Stability: There have been some stability issues in the months before January 2017, but Olark seems to be on it and it improved recently. You can sign up for SMS and email alerts too. Reporting: Reporting is available, altho I would like to see some improvements. Most serious companies with a good customer support have operator schedules. I would love to be able to have the ability of defining schedules for each operator and have that included in the report. As much as you want to get reports from end users and about their satisfaction, you need to keep track of the operators and if they are sticking to the schedule.

Its a great tool and we got a lot of customers through this, great tool for products on all types !

Pros

Olark is a good tool, which we use on some of our websites. It has good features that is very much needed for engaging with customers. We are happy with their support and their new UI is really good. Olark also has really good features in which we can gain insights about customer behaviors and actions they took on our website.

Cons

They are really slow in some cases and in some times the chat gets delayed and we began to loose customers.

Pros

While the free trial was limited in scope, a paid subscription ups the available features to include unlimited chats, automation, and a per chair subscription which kept cost low & chats easily managed.

Cons

The integration choices are fairly limited in comparison with other chat platforms, and the free plan is extremely limited. Even a small business would need more than 1 operator at times.

Olark is a great first ever live chat software. It is super easy to set up and use. While it may lack features, everything critical is already there and working. So if you don't need any extra bells and whistles - Olark will work well for you.

Pros

The biggest advantage of Olark is how easy it is to install and have it running in no time. The dashboards features pretty extensive analytics and chat history. Customer support was also pretty quick when I had an issue. They also have a mobile app but I rarely used it.

Cons

I think the biggest con is that very same simplicity that makes it easy to use. I have had hard time generating a really detailed CSV report about the chat history of our team with timestamps, client emails, names, etc. The customization of the whole Olark experience for both us and the client is also pretty lacking.

The Salesforce integration is a must and they are continuing to improve the product. The latest feature release is the reporting capability which is a nice add-on.

Cons

They do have a lot of widespread issues (though they are transparent via their status page), and support is only available through chat (which makes sense but can be frustrating).

I really enjoy using Olark. I think it's fun. The bird with the its little birdhouse is so cute, and the way it turns to nighttime when you're not accepting chats--adorable! It's super easy to use. I am a huge fan of the notification systems. I like how you get both visual and auditory notifications, and well as follow-up notifications to remind you, "Hey! Don't forget about me over here! I'm still waiting!" I like how you can tag chats with whatever tag you desire; we've really had some fun with those! The co-browsing feature is pretty awesome, though I'll admit, some of our customers are rather paranoid, and the fact we can do something like that freaks them out quite a bit, so I avoid telling most people we have the ability to co-browse. Still, it's a really cool feature, and it can be SO helpful! One thing I wish they'd improve is the length of time you can block a user. When I last used Olark, the longest you could block someone was 24 hours. Some of the people who visit chat prove themselves worthy of a significantly longer blockage period.

Olark works very well for what it is. Besides the occasional outages, it works exactly as described. We love being able to chat with our customers, but sometimes it would be handy to be able to send a screenshot of what we’re looking at on our end. Otherwise, it works great.

Pros

Olark is very easy to use for all participants. We were concerned that it would be difficult for our website visitors to get the hang of, but we’ve not had any complaints so far! It’s very easy for us to use as well. We especially like the chat log feature. It helped us create a database of commonly-asked questions, which helps us when we have a new employee answering the chats.

Cons

We’ve experienced a few outages, but they weren’t very long. We were able to get back up and running within minutes, which is very important. The ability to share images with the visitors to our website would be handy. Other than that, we haven’t had any issues.

We're looking for Whatsapp business alternative and guess what? We found Olark. Secondly, the pre-filed chat help us in getting the genuine feedback.

Pros

Belive it or not the real-time chat is heart and soul of the Olark. We features we really like the color customization as we changed it to Red color to match with out website.

Cons

We wish they too have more native integrations rather the Zapier ones as available in Intercom. And ability to connect Telegram, Twitter and Facebook to continue the chat further.

Olark makes it super easy for customers to interact quickly and efficiently with our staff.

Pros

This program is so easy to use that everyone in our office has taken a turn! We love that it can be a subtle, yet helpful, add on to our website. We also like seeing who is on our site and being able to recall past chats. The price point is also very affordable.

Cons

Probably the most frustrating part is that we had a few times when the alarm noise just shut itself off and we missed a few chats before we realized what happened and turned the alert sound back on.

Overal Olark is a great tool that will serve most website needs for a chatbox. It's geared for non-enterprise clients, from my experience, but is still a very capable chat tool.

Pros

Olark is a simple to use and simple to set up a website chat tool that allows any website to have a custom chat. Setting it up was super easy and took no time at all aside from installing a plugin (we have a Wordpress website) and getting up and running was fast.

Cons

Olark has some limitations around it's functionality that other competitors such as Drift have. Drift is designed for a B2B application, integrating with robust platforms whereas Olark does not. This is a pretty specific use case, but one that I noticed.

This is a very easy turn-key solution to customer website chat. Our agents find the software very easy to use. Our customer really love the chat and ask us anything about our products and services, and often even place orders with our agents. Olark has been an invaluable addition to our customer service philosophy. Some things I wish Olark had the ability to do: 1. Block a user from entering a credit card number (yes, it happens) or custom RegEx matches, 2. allow customers to chat with us via SMS on their phones (our agents would chat in the same chat window that they currently do), and 3. have an Olark Android app so our agents can chat with customers after hours if needed (yes, we would pay them :-). Over all the experience has been very positive. Olark's customer service is caring and responsive. I would recommend trying Olark (really it's easy to implement or turn off). You've got nothing to lose, really. You can customize almost everything about it from the user's point of view.

Pros

VERY easy to implement and customize. Great use experience.

Cons

Can't think of anything right now.

We got good customer engagement and leads from chat. Our team was able to help website visitors progress further (and faster) in the funnel.

Pros

Olark is easy to set up and get started with quickly. With minimal (to none) IT involvement you can engage your website visitors. Very good options to trigger a chat based on activities and other attributes. Screen share option is good (sometimes buggy though).

Cons

Customization options for the appearance of chat window are limited.

Pros

We wanted to offer our software customers a channel for support and Olark seemed like a good choice. The interface is easy to navigate, and they have done a good job of thinking through the experience, like being able to customize and "away" message and the confirmation message. It is also very easy to implement with just a couple lines of code.

Cons

The biggest problem with Olark is its reliability. We are currently in the process of switching away from it because we would be online, ready to chat, and customers would tell us that on their end it wasn't showing up. There were multiple planned and unplanned outages, and it cost us some good will with our customers.

I have a small team and the relation ease of use, quality and price is high. I have it integrated with a CRM, but I cannot share all data Olark generates for my lead management

Pros

You can have your chat online working in minutes. It is very easy to define your look and configure conversations. Staff working with Olark very, very quickly as it has a very friendly interface.

Cons

If you want to create a complex first level desk offered by chat online it becomes complex and expensive.
