Olark is a solid platform that allows us to serve our customers in an immediate way that many prefer to email or phone. Feature-rich and easy to use and configure, Olark allows us to respond quickly and simply to technical, marketing or customer service change requests.

Pros

Simple, Easy, Robust and customers love it

Cons

Cost, occasional availability issues, needs stronger reporting (perhaps with internal SLA's) and more integrations.

Thanks to the ease of use for both the customers and us as operators, our sales have increased significantly in the last 6 to 12 months. The new pricing plan was also a wonderful change and allowed us to add another operator. For us, Olark has been an amazing way to connect with our customers on a more personal level and make sales. Thank you Olark!

Pros

The customization features are not only nice, they are easy to implement and change at will.

Cons

While I think the keyboard shortcuts are great (and use them), I can see how some users may find it not so easy. So it's good this feature is optional.

Olark is an extremely simple chat tool to websites, it is easy to implement and use and helps convert users on your website.

Cons

The functionality is limited, they do not have custom bots and automated playbooks

Pros

Olark is so easy to use and customize. You can have multiple teams and adding new operators is a breeze. Everything else you need in a chatbox can be added on with customizable subscriptions.

Cons

In the previous version they seemed less profit obsessed and you used to be able to screen share easily in the base package. Now it feels like every little extra bit

I've looked at a number of live chat providers and Olark is my hands down favorite. It's incredibly easy to use and loaded with powerful features like targeted chat that you can't get from almost any other provider. Plus, the good folks over at Olark are incredibly helpful. I only gave Olark 4/5 stars for Features & Functionality because their Salesforce integration doesn't have many customization options and they don't have a Slack integration, but hopefully those will be rolling out soon. Otherwise, Olark is about as good as you can get!

Pros

Super easy to use, but loaded with powerful features.

Cons

No Slack integration and the Salesforce integration is a bit clunky.

Pros

If you're currently just relying on email for support, you need live chat, and Olark is the easiest and best experience for your users. As a product owner, it's thrilling to have a live chat with a real user using your product and help them achieve their goals. You learn so much by being their with them.

Cons

It was a bit challenging to coordinate with a large team of people all responding at the same time. I really wish they had a better slack integration.

I like how easy this was to install- plus you can get a free trial. The analytics are great and I like several of the extensions and the possibility of integrating chat with other applications. The chat interface and its behavior are customizable to match our site's look and feel and business workflow.

Cons

This product affects page load speed (which slows down my site, although it's true of many website add ons). I wish the pricing was more affordable with larger number of users.

Great. No problems so far.

Pros

The first thing that caught my eye with Olark is the user interface. It is well-designed, eye catching and a delight to use for both customers and our team on the other end. Another feature that stands out to me is the level of integration with other software suites. Especially with CRM software and analytics, you're spoiled for choice. Olark provides us with quite a lot of data on customer interactions which really allows us to fine-tune the way we approach each customer interaction uniquely.

Cons

More options for customization of the chat templates would be great.

Olark has been great for us. It's been terrific to communicate with customers this way, however there have been some issues. 1) There have been a few times where Olark goes down. We don't rely entirely upon Olark, but that still causes problems 2) Cobrowsing is going away and that was the big differentiator between Olark and everyone else I evaluated 3) You can't include things like gifs and images in chat. Overall, pretty good product but lacks a competitive moat.

Pros

Works well. Easy to use. Easy to set up new operators, chat with customers, etc. Integrates with Help Scout, Zendesk, etc

Cons

It goes down at least twice a month for a few minutes to longer. Can't share gifs/images Doesn't have a lot of features or functionality to separate themselves from the pack

Very straightforward and easy to get started. I'm using it along with Pidgin so I answer to chats very quickly. I don't like having a website open for chat.

Cons

It doesn't have all the bells and wistes that are present in the new conversional marketing tools like Drip

I really enjoy using olark. It's one of the most streamlined and enjoyable chat experiences (for both customer and provider). I wish there were a few more features to customize the customer's interaction (required fields type things). The biggest problem is that our team has experienced a lot of downtime and it's very frustrating for your users when the chat doesn't work. Almost makes me want to turn off olark altogether sometimes.

Pros

Looks better than almost all other products (though I think it's falling behind and needs to update its appearance and UI to the customer)

Cons

The interface is clean and simple to use.

Cons

We had multiple outages - our chat widget disappeared from off the screen while we had chat agents on the site - confirmed by customers and our own employees. Olark support blamed local internet outages, of which we found no evidence. We kept our account active as we switched to other live chat products, and received several emails from Olark apologizing for similar outages (at least they owned those). We paid for Olark, and only had 1 agent account available. We switched to Zoho SalesIQ and received 2 agents for free.

Olark allows us to always be in contact with prospects, attendees, and clients. While our focus is on prospecting, this works for support needs as well.

Pros

This integrated with our site no problem and is about as easy to use as any interaction can be. I use this daily with one other person and we never seem to trip over each other. I cannot say enough about how simple this is.

Cons

Personally I have only one complaint, and this is I wish it would time out quicker. Sometimes I walk away and forget to no longer accept conversations. That is not Olark's problem, but I wish there was an auto shut down.

Very happy with this tool. I use it on my website to answer any questions visitors might have and it's easy to customize everything.

Pros

I really like all the features available. I can do real-time monitoring and start a conversation with people that are visiting my website. I was able to get a few clients that contacted me through the live chat just by answering all their questions immediately. You can also do the integration with Wordpress (I use WP for my website) and free trial is available.

Cons

There's nothing I dislike about Olark. It's a great tool and even though pricing is a bit high.

Cons

Doesn't seem to offer any mobile options, you'll want to have a team man the chat or else you're bound to miss inbound inquiries.

Pros

Ease of use. I was able to get a very basic computer user to learn this software and her interactions made our conversion rates consistently higher.

The biggest benefit is giving my prospects and customers another way to contact me without emailing or picking up the phone. Plus, it's been proven that live chat helps to boost your conversions, so it has had a positive impact on sales.

Pros

I like that this was simple to install, plus it integrates with Google Analytics, which allows you to build data on where you chats are being initiated. I love the fact that it's unobtrusive on my website - some of the other chat services out there were too big and cluttered up my site. Olark doesn't.

Cons

I wish that there was a way to put chats on hold, or at least give the person chatting the option to leave information for a follow-up email later. I also wish that it allowed you to customize just a little bit more. It's important from a design standpoint to have the chat box match your website.

What I like most about this software is that it allows for more communication through online chat to provide 100% customer satisfaction customer service

Cons

What I like least about it is that it tends to kick you off if you remain idle for too long and I like leaving the window open all day for communication line and I have to keep going back and checking to make sure that it’s not shut off and then I’m accepting shots

It's a quick and easy setup tool that gets you chatting with your customers in real-time. It's very reliable and integrates nicely into the workflow we have for our other help desk software.

Pros

Simple, easy and reliable chat tool that integrates well with CRM and other Help Desk software. Olark has been a game changer for us, we now can offer support right in the moment as customers need it to keep them running smooth with our product. The Olark team also provides stellar support over live chat to their own customers.

Cons

There much more designed for smaller chat teams, and lack a few features. They've just now implemented file sharing with in chats, this has been a huge help, and is something we've needed. They also don't quite have a note feature yet which would be very handy for our internal communication.

The benefits I get from Olark is the ability to chat with customers whenever the enter our website. If they have any quick questions they get answered promptly.

Pros

We use Olark on our website so that clients can ask quick questions if they need to. We find it very useful as sometimes clients just need a quick answer and don't like waiting for an email response.

Cons

There is nothing I can say bad about this company besides the fact I think they could potentially lower the price. I have yet to look elsewhere and compare prices because we are getting everything we need.

We started using Olark because of it's simplicity and ease of use. Olark has served us well in that it only took minutes to integrate into our website and be fully functional. The customization features are simple enough that anyone can set up the integration. The only need to tie up Developer Teams is to copy/paste the snippet into the website code and you're done! If you're looking for a chat product that is simple yet professional looking, Olark is exactly what you're looking for!

Pros

The ease of integration and simplicity of the setup and customization

Cons

The removal of the co-browsing feature. In my mind, that was one of the things that set Olark apart from the other chat vendors. The ability to be on the phone with a customer and be able to see their screen makes customer service much easier and allows us to add a personal touch to our customer interactions.
