Imagine putting $30,000 into a brand new studio and then the software that you just purchased decides to update and every single person that tries to register for class is told that their credit expired in 1899. I had everything set up fine and then there were so many issues after the update.... classes and teachers were completely scrambled and I spent hours figuring out how to work around the glitches with absolutely no human to talk to or help. I literally had to figure it out on my own they were 0% helpful. Pros After the amount of customers I lost during the last update NOTHING. There is not a thing that has gone as it should. I absolutely regret trusting this software and if I didn't already have my studio relying on them I would 100% pay 3xs the price for ANY other booking software. This has been a TERRIBLE experience. Cons There were so many issues when they had the system update and NO HUMANS TO TALK TO. NO PHONE NUMBER TO CALL. JUST AI ROBOTS with automated responses. Even now I've been trying to contact them to fix the issues and haven't heard from a human in two days. My business might fail now because I made the mistake of trusting this software. At best, the app is too bare bones to be useful for a business owner, and you get no useful planning data from it at all. I don't feel like anyone who's actually run a gym well or knew anything about business projections was involved in designing this. The only way I can get the info I need is to export their data into excel and then create formulae to do it myself. It's not 1995, just go with a company that actually knows what they're doing. Separate to that, my experience with their customer service has been truly poor and has potentially cost me members. Pros Went with studiobookings over the clearly better products on the market at the exact same pricepoint because it's the only one that didn't make gender assumptions. That is, sadly, it's only pro. My entire experience has been frustrating at best, and my customers have consistently had problems with the app and booking. Don't bother telling studiobookings though, it's google's fault apparently, or a long list of other companies'. Never been them though, according to their reply to me. Cons You can't get any useful KPI data out of the back end. Not helpful to running your business or future planning. For the last six weeks members have pretty frequently had the app not work for them. Manually going in and booking and cancelling for several hundred people almost requires a full time employee. Don't complain to studiobookings though, wow did the email I got back make me feel small and shitty. I can't imagine what would've happened if one of my customers had been treated like that, I'd never see them again. Reasons for choosing StudioBookings Only because at the time every other produce required customers to list gender, from only two options. This was the only choice that didn't require gender to be asked. That said, I was suspicious from the start that it wasn't going to give me any useful data for growing my business, and it does not. I have had three separate occasions where I am unable to reach the service in the last month alone - one nearly a whole day, one is currently down since 30 minutes and a short one a couple of days ago. It is not good enough when you supply an online service that needs to be up 24/7. Pros Simple software service that has all the basics you need for a small studio. Cons They are not taking their responsibility as a service provider serious enough as they are not addressing their problem with their under performing server, which crashes way too often for it being useful for a studio that needs access all the time. StudioBookings comes with a built in Waiting List feature. This means that your clients that book into a full class is automatically added to the waiting list for that class. You can also set the number of people you want on a waiting list as well. If someone cancels in the class, the first person on the waiting list is automatically added and they get an alert. There have been a few buggy things in the app that I've pointed out and EVERY SINGLE TIME, they've not only responded to my comments and questions, they've made the fix. I mean seriously, I've been blown away by their responsiveness. Pros Ease of use for me. Seems to be built for smaller studios like mine. Price. Cons Still some issues with Instructors and Staff being able to see Instructor pay. Also, I wish there were a direct link to an FAQ or support page directly from the software. Instead, the link inside the program goes to the marketing page which actually doesn't make sense since someone using the software is already 'sold' on the product. Easy to set up, and to be candid- once you set up, why would you switch? Good news is w/ fast & friendly customer service - you don't need to. Looked at alternative to mind body because so many studio owners I know complain about them so glad I took the leap. This software is also very flexible too meaning you are able to do things that others can't (coupon code). The price is right and I highly recommend Studiobookings software. Pros Easy to use, great price, amazing customer service. Cons Not knowing how to do things and but luckily they are quick to help.
