I have just found one or two things more difficult when setting up, like linking to the pension provider etc. Then having called customer support I was given the help required quickly and efficiently. Overall I have had a good experience and have recommended this product to others, I also use it in other places that I work. Pros Simplicity easy to transfer the required details over to HMRC or chosen pension provider! I looked at a number of alternatives but BrightPay seemed like the easiest to use, it was the most cost effective being free for 1 employee and what was really important for me BrightPay have great video help files and free telephone support. Super. I've used them for almost a year and now I know that I made the right decision. Well done BrightPay, great product and support. Pros Great online video help files and free telephone support. It's easy to use, great visually unlike some options and does what it says on the tin. It's provided all we need, interfaces with the bank and pension provider, emails the pay slips and has generally streamlined the whole payroll function. Very useful video tutorials on You Tube available before you commit to the software which really helps to make an informed decision. Never needed it but know there's good support and backup available if ever it was needed. Pros Free for small users. Review Source JW John W. It keeps me, my staff, rti and the government (pensions/paye) happy and it makes sense. It makes my accountant happy as well even if i forget to run the reports because he can always find them himself. Pros It takes less than 5 mins to comply to all the new regulations - a few clicks and its all done. Cons I always have trouble remembering where and how to get the reports i want - should be a reports tab on top you can click to get all your reports instead of each section. I find it very easy and intuitive to use (especially as I am not a payroll expert) The integration with HMRC is problem-free - never had an issue (unlike other cloud based solutions eg Xero). Master data maintenance is also very easy to use and the reporting is comprehensive. I've been using it for a couple of years now and have never had a problem. Its easy to use (or, as easy as HMRC rules would allow it to be!) and pretty straightforward. I pretty much only use it for payslips, P60s, and RTI submissions. I do the actual payroll payments by hand. Pros Free for small companies. Cons Only use it once a month so I don't get used to doing things, and I don't have any need to explore the features. Review Source LE Lyndon E. As I work within the IT industry I can tell the difference between good and bad software, and this is definitely one of the good ones! We previously used the free tool from HMRC, which I found terrible in comparison to BrightPay and quite buggy. I've also seen other companies using products from the more well known vendors, which seem overly complex compared to BrightPay. Really simple, and well-protected (you can password lock it). I use Bean Balance to do my accounts and the two integrate seamlessly - just copy your RTI from BrightPay as an XML and BeanBalance processes immediately. You can run payroll at the click of a button in BrightPay, export payslips for records, and if you add your HMRC Gateway credentials, it will even publish your RTI straight to HMRC. Cannot fault this product, and with the free license as a 1-person LTD company, you cannot go wrong! Review Source RG Rosalind G. I was initially attracted to Brightpay because it appeared simple and intuitive to use - and having used it to file EPS returns over the last 3 years - I am very pleased with it. On the few occasions I have needed support, the team responded very quickly - and my issues were resolved quickly and easily. I would not only recommend it to others, I will also look to purchase a paid licence when my business becomes big enough to require one. A big 'thank you' to the Brightpay team. For now, we only have one staff member, and it's free without limitations for up to three employees. Doing payroll for the first time is a bit of a learning curve, and we were a bit peaved to find that we didn't get a response when we tried to contact support via the web form. However, when we tried via e-mail instead, we found that we got very thorough, rapid and personable support. Pros \- Free for the first three employees. - Very attentive customer service via e-mail. Ideal for small business with simple requirements. Very easy to set up first time and the year end transition was quite seamless. Quite impressed with this software (meets HMRC's requirements for a small business). Pros Very easy to set up, easy to run, RTI filing is quite seamless, reports (including payslips) generated have professional look and can be customised (using company logo). BrightPay also satisfied HMRC requirements for their reporting purposes. The decision was something of a 'no-brainer'. The software is updated regularly to keep pace with changing legislation/HMRC requirements. On the one occasion I needed support, this was available immediately by telephone. I had a problem on first set up and the support was fast and really excellent and much better than my experience with other software companies. If I manage to grow my business and take on extra staff I will definitely stay as a paying customer. Brightpay is a doddle to use and far easier than the HMRC system it has more plusses than minuses, I would recoment it to anyone who needs to run a payroll system. It is easier and cheaper to use than Sage/TAS payroll which are mega costly.
