Any problems I have had have always been dealt with promptly the customr service is great . The only problem I have had that couldn't be resolved was submitting auto enrolment contributions to my pension provider , but i think the problem was at their end , not BrightPay. We free-trialled all the market leaders and found Brightpay fitted our requirements almost perfectly. There are one or two tiny niggles, but it is a simple matter of getting used to them. We particularly like the simple way it calculates and email pay slips, pays HMRC and calculates HMRC periodic payments (we pay quarterly), and deals with auto-enrollment Pros easy to use (intuitive), immediate phone support if needed, MUCH easier than HMRC RTI tools, wish we had used it years ago. Easy to import the data from HMRC Cons none really, just a bit of a niggle that i found confusing when it copies "this month" to next month - some users like the feature as it compares the wages bill to last month. I find end of year much less stressful than when I used other payroll providers. Customer support is brilliant and you are never left hanging on for hours as your queries are answered immediately. I would definitely recommend Brightpay to anyone who is interested in a hassle free and value for money payroll package. It does, exactly, the job we want it to do. If we do have a problem, always down to us, the problem is sorted swiftly. The staff members we talk to are very pleasant and helpful and we could not wish for a better service. Pros It's ease of use and logical layout. IT never lets you down. Cons None that we have found. Iris was dated, expensive and unintuitive whereas Brightpay was the opposite. I also found the companies to be polar opposites. Brightpay were prepared to listed and provide support without prohibitive costs. Brightpay is also regularly updated with new features being added all the time. I couldn't recommend them more highly. We searched the internet for an alternative product and after trying a few very quickly realised that Brightpay gave us exactly what we needed with ease of use and a user friendly front end. Once you have put in the basic information it is there for future years. The customer support is second to none. Emails are replied to quickly and telephone support from helpful, English speaking staff is available if needed. Links to HMRC are easy and self explanatory. Pros Simple to use. April 4, 2017 5.0 I absolutely cannot say enough how good this is- I panicked with auto enrolment after using basic tools for years - I tried various other payroll software and found them complicated and even more stressful - Brightpay was a breeze and I love it and cannot recommend it enough- my only regret is not having used it a long time ago - Brightpay is my friend!!!!! It was relatively easy to set up and once I had done one payroll I had the process clear in my mind (although this may have been helped by previous payroll experience on other software). In summary, Brightpay is a great solution for what we require and is quick and easy to run each month. What has really impressed me is the service support when we had an initial glitch with RTI submissions. Niamh was so helpful and quickly got to the root of the problem, which was actually with HMRC! Pros Simple functionality. It does what it says it will without unnecessary complications. Recommended by HMRC. The layout is very easy to use and I have never had any issues with any of the funcationality of the programme. I only have a few employees and it does everything I need it to do. I have no experience in payroll and only have a small business so it is great to know that I can use it quickly and easily. Pros sraightforward layout, really easy to navigate Cons I needed to add a DEA and there didn't appear to be the exact option I needed so I had to use my best guess at the closest one. It took a very short time to set up, once I had found the relevant passwords from my UK government gateway account. Monthly it takes me a matter of minutes to do all necessary reports, filings and print outs; year end is almost as simple. I had a query re the software at the fiscal year end, which their help desk responded to immediately and led me through what to do. really this seems about as simple as you could hope for. Pros User friendly system. Free for small companies. Great support Cons Payroll tax and HMRC reporting is always going to be worrying unless you an expert, so as with any system I am nervous in doing my returns. Review Source MP Melys P. Director Management Consulting Used the software for: Less than 6 months ### "All the help you need with payroll" October 26, 2016 5.0 Setting up a business was a daunting problem- trying to manage a payroll even for one person with all the tax returns and reporting responsibilities was almost impossible and resulted in me being fined twice for late filing by the tax office. Once I found Brightpay this all turned around the system was easy, and comprehensive it does everything you need and more. Since using it my account is relieved as I manage to produce accurate reports for everything and the tax office have stopped fining me , which must be a good sign. I have already recommended this product to others as for me it has made a load of difference in my understanding and keeping up to date with things. Plus I can do everything without having to pay for an expensive third party or agent to do things for me. At first I used the free option but upgraded when our company went Limited and we took on an extra employee. The change over from Sole Trader to Ltd Company was trouble free. This included a customer support call regarding P45'S, their response was quick and helpful. Pros I chose BrightPay because it includes help with Pension auto-enrolement. Mostly, I'm used to it now, but the online guides make it really simple to follow for people new to the software, Pros Calculates all NI & PAYE for me as a director - correctly, according to my accountant. Produces payslips, P60, etc. in a format that is easy to understand. Prompts me to complete RTI to HMRC. Online guides are great and easy to understand. Cons Occasionally it has calculated PAYE / NI that I do not understand and have had to refer to my accountant for advice - would be great to have a webchat or phone helpdesk for those specific queries.
