### "Great for asset visibility"

April 12, 2026

5.0

Really good for scanning subnets, software, AD. The registry and file scanning alongside script deployments is super useful.

Pros

Great for asset visibility and value for money. The asset info gained in comprehensive and highly configurable.

Cons

The gui is a tad dated in its look, but overall, it is very easy to navigate. The ability to create reports could be better.

Alternatives considered

Reason for choosing Lansweeper

Lansweeper is about 10th of the cost and is fairly good at vulnerability scanning too

### "Does what it says, and fairly well."

March 12, 2025

5.0

We've used it for several years now and it has been great for identifying devices on our network. It's also on prem so we control the data.

Pros

It gives a full picture of what devices are connected to which switch ports.

Cons

It's fairly expensive for 200 assets which is now the minimum.

Alternatives considered

Lansweeper is easier to manage and doesn't require a Linux server.

### "A really good starter tool for endpoint management"

December 27, 2018

3.0

I recommend this for a small (<2K nodes) single site environment. If they beefed up the deployment tools and added an agent based WOL, this would be a rockstar of a product.

Pros

Simple to setup and easy to use. With a little SQL skills you can easily setup dashboards to monitor some critical information, like primary software versions or percentage of total deployment of AV software.

Cons

Deployment tools are really weak. Installer logic is very limited with no access to WMI for creating conditions. Deployment packages do not survive reboot (ie multi reboots in a single installation package). Deployment installations are flakey. I can push the same package to a computer and it will fail 3x in a row and successful on the 4th. Tech support is based in UK, so if you are in the States forget phone support. "Software" inventory is based on Add/Remove registry, not file based. Any taught files to scan for are not included in any "Software" reports. They are completely separate

### "Useful asset inventory tool, does what it says on the tin"

April 14, 2026

4.0

Solid tool for IT asset management if that's your main need. Not the flashiest product but it's reliable and the data it surfaces is actually useful for audits and compliance work.

Pros

Network scanning and asset discovery work well out of the box. Getting a full picture of your hardware and software inventory without a ton of manual work is genuinely useful, especially across a mixed environment.

Cons

The interface feels dated and some reports take more clicks than they should. Setup can be a bit fiddly depending on your network topology.

### "Lansweeper"

March 10, 2020

5.0

One of the simplest technologies to deploy and manage. Asset, software and forensic audits are so much simpler and safes a lot of man hours.

Pros

Deployment is easy and simple. This can also be said of the overall management of the software. A very important factor in my line of work is reporting. Lansweeper simplifies this with a whole list of standard reports that can also be used as templates for custom reports. Besides using Lansweeper for asset and software management, we also use it to report on vulnerable applications and assist in some of our internal forensic investigations.

Cons

There are currently no SIEM integration. This would be a great feature to integrate with our SOC.

### "The Perfect Network Map"

February 4, 2021

5.0

They have been a solid company to deal with. Licensing is always on time upon renewal date and the software upgrades almost on its own. There are endless amounts of customizing you can do to suit your needs.

Pros

I love the ease of scanning our entire network and getting the full spectrum of what we have. When it comes to auditing software and equipment there is no more guess work. I can look at everything from a 10,000ft view or right down to individuals event logs with a few clicks of the mouse. No more jumping over multiple hurdles to troubleshoot a PC any longer.

Cons

I wish there was a better way that when a user switches IP addresses that it easily detects the change and can discard the old record. I find myself clearing out multiple assets at times.

Alternatives considered

Reason for choosing Lansweeper

Very user-friendly and it makes our internal and external audits a breeze. With a few clicks of the mouse, I can give full reporting of all software and equipment. The options are endless on what it can do.

### "Lansweeper: Integrated Asset Management, HelpDesk, and KnowledgeBase"

June 23, 2025

4.0

As a HelpDesk manager, I live in Lansweeper. I couldn't do my job without it. When I start my workday, I open two lansweeper tabs in my browser. I dedicate one tab to HelpDesk and have another for searching for assets and users.

Pros

I love Lansweeper's integration. Lansweeper is asset management, HelpDesk, and KnowledgeBase all in one.

Cons

Making configuration changes in Lansweeper isn't very intuitive. Tracking down settings for a particular Lansweeper component in the "Configuration" section can be difficult. For example, adding a new value to a custom field in the HelpDesk section requires you to expand a couple of hidden areas in the "Ticket content" configuration screen.

### "Great for organizations with larger budgets"

October 15, 2025

4.0

Love the product overall, but they have priced themselves out of the SMB market segment. Lansweeper also doesn't make it clear which product features are under active development, and which have been abandoned, and the auto update feature for the onsite doesn't work properly.

Pros

Love the level of detail and the way it arranges the asset pages. Also has some good built-in and monthly reports they publish.

Cons

Price has doubled/tripled in the past 2-3 years and many features like vulnerability scanning are further paywalled into an even higher tier package.

### "Easy to use yet powerful"

August 20, 2025

5.0

Lansweeper has been great for my company. It is easy to use yet can do as much as you want it to. I would definitely recommend.

Pros

Lansweeper allows us to easily manage all our assets and quickly identify new devices. We also use Lansweeper to deploy some software packages

Cons

Depending on scan frequency, changed IP addresses can take a while to propagate through the system causing minor delays

### "Cool IT inventory and network discovery tool"

March 4, 2025

4.0

I have been using Lansweeper for years and I think it's very helpful when you talk about IT inventory and network discovery. But after the price rises we have looked into another alternatives, not so focused on inventory but also in remote support, patching, etc.

Pros

\- It doesn't only discover PCs and servers but also printers, routers, switches and non-Windows devices (Mac, iOS, Android, Linux, etc). - You can scan the network without an agent installed in the PCs (although if you want you can install the agent in order to speed up the updates when a change in a computer happens). - You can see a very detailed asset information as hardaware specs, installed software, user accounts, etc. - You can create custom fields and reports.

Cons

\- It doesn't offer threat detection nor vulnerability management. - The initial setup can be a challenge in large networks. - You can't use it for remote management or patch deployment. - The price is a little high in big environments (especially after the last rise).

### "Lansweeper - Great way to track IT assets for small businesses with limited IT staff"

September 19, 2022

5.0

Pros

The software is very easy to setup and manage. It provides multiple ways to scan assets (via login script or scheduled scans from the server). The reporting is great out of the box, but provides enough flexibility to add custom fields or generate custom reports. The forums have lots of custom SQL queries to create your own reports as well.

Cons

Prices are increasing substantially if you are a small business that was previously on the $500 a year minimum. Going forward the price minimum will be $2000 a year.

### "Ideal for SME network internet and management"

December 14, 2023

5.0

Positive. This was up and running within 30 mins. Customizable reporter and altering to give you weekly updates and changes. Great product.

Pros

That is scans all ips and reports detailed information. This does progress, printers pcs even down to Amazon echo!

Cons

Very little it's very customisable. If anything interrupt it can do too much. But one your are familiar I would be surprised if it doesn't meet your needs better than most if the competition. Only real drawback is it's an on prem solution that needs to be updated periodically rather than some of the cloud based alternatives

### "Greate value for the cost"

January 13, 2023

4.0

This helped us a lot get an inventory of our environment and be able to deploy scripts and packages to systems without going manually. It was a game changer when we started using it.

Pros

The ease of use and being able to deploy scripts and software to reports built showing specific devices I want to target. The agentless asset scan and deploy via WMI works well. With the LSAgent it helps for devices outside the office.

Cons

I wish there was a way to build a series of tasks that you string together to build a deployment. You can build out complex scripts and deployment logic, but I would like to be able to group those into a larger deployment method. The lack of remote screen control is disappointing too.

### "User-lock Feature and Functionality in summary review"

January 10, 2019

5.0

Better management of Assets. Ease if Helpdeks ticket handling and asset association Group permissions helps to easily deploy access to resources. Just to name a few.

Pros

Since using Lansweeper in our network for over two years this application if found to be very helpful as it allowed us to easily scan our network automatically throughout and discover hundreds of different types of assets. The well defined structure, dashboard, reports and its components helped us to easily build and form a scale-able, flexible network management solution for our environment with the ability to know what has changed, when and where. The deployment is very simplified. We had managed to easily setup the database, web console and scanning service, all on the same machine. The agent-less and fully automatic scanning engine makes it a second to none and a worthwhile purchase.

Cons

There is not a difficulty of a problem area that we have found with the use of this application. In fact, the software probably just need a more rich dashboard for future versions and that should complete its visual effect at a glance.

### "Awesome IT asset management software at a low, low price!"

November 22, 2019

5.0

We bought lansweeper primarily to keep up with software licenses, but it's a very valuable asset management tool all around. We probably only use 5% of its functionality, but it's worth the (low) price just for that. I'm looking forward to taking more advantage of the power tool as time permits.

Pros

Lansweeper is awesome. It's so helpful, and so powerful, and it's cheap! They also send regular emails with helpful information about security vulnerabilities that have been patched, so I can alert my users to run Windows updates, update their browsers, etc.

Cons

Honestly, nothing really. It does have its own ticketing system built in, and I'd love to see an easy integration with Zendesk, but it does have the ability to send emails, so having it do that to open a Zendesk ticket is an easy thing to do.

Reason for choosing Lansweeper

It was on a list of recommendations with 4-5 other software packages. A quick look at each of their websites was enough to convince me that Lansweeper was the way to go. I've not looked back; Lansweeper is a great product that is well-supported and continually updated. And it's inexpensive!

### "Excellent Product for the Money"

July 9, 2019

5.0

I liked this so much at my previous job that one of the first things I did two years ago when I switched employers was to arrange to purchase licensing at my new place of employment. Everyone here has been just as impressed with it as I am.

Pros

I cannot imagine doing my job as a systems administrator without this tool. It makes automating so many processes super easy, and is easy to customize with a great user base.

Cons

I really can't think of anything negative to say about this. Some auditors don't like the fact that it needs either local or domain admin privileges to utilize most of its functionality, but so do many tools in this category.

### "Lansweeper - a great tool for any IT Department."

January 7, 2020

5.0

We were wanting a way to push new software and more specifically new virus software out to all our computers quickly. Lansweeper was able to handle this very efficiently and quickly. Has become a great tool that I use regularly. Was recommended to me, and I recommend it to others.

Pros

Easy to use software, able to get great information on all the computers on the network. Able to push updates and installs without having to go to every computer to do it. Saves e time and money. Able to see so much information about each computer, without having to go to them and log in to get it.

Cons

Almost gives too much information that it can be a little distracting to use. First time using the software was a little confusing, but picked up what needed done easily.

### "Useful for asset management and able to obtain key information for machines in our environment. "

April 25, 2018

5.0

Pros

I like that I am able to extract asset information for each device, this is warranty, hardware information, IP details, past user logins. It is useful from a management perspective as we can report on devices on our network which have reached the end of their lifecycle in terms of age, operating system or warranty. Easily able to extract this bulk information.

Cons

Personally i would have like to integrate the asset information and data into our service desk ticketing system for our staff to have this information more freely. But this proved difficult.

### "Lansweeper productivity"

February 22, 2015

5.0

To give you guys a bit of background information: I am a system administrator of a company located in Belgium, but we have sites located all over the world (Australia, United States, United Kingdom, ..). If you are looking for a network inventory software that is very customizable to your needs I would say use Lansweeper. I am working in an environment that exists almost exclusively exists of Windows computers and servers and it scans everything I need. Personally I am a big fan of the software scanning and the software license information. Lansweeper saved us dozens of hours of license and asset detail collection so far. Recently they came out with their latest version 5.2 and the deployment feature is still a bit of riddle to me. Although with their features included already I'm starting to get the hang of it! The updates are free (and frequent) and it is very easy money for us if we see what it does to the productivity. Definitely should try this one, all I had to do was download a trial and ask for the possibility to test everything!
