I use it every day not only for tender estimating but also for cash flows and much more. It is a great product, with great support. Pros Candy is by far the most user friendly program I have worked with and updates are done very often. I will never use another program for estimating tenders. You can structure it according to your needs and use your own experience to define your pricing. Cons I can not say anything negative about Candy, I almost want to call it perfect. The tools and reports meet all our requirements. I use the Estimation module extensively, and it's proven to be good and efficient for our daily work. The customer service team is responsive and always ready to help. Cons The interface feels outdated and overly complicated, which impacts usability. The Post-Tender Project Tools are tedious to navigate. Finding required documents is difficult, and the EVM workflow needs significant improvement to be more intuitive and user-friendly. It is difficult to track tasks. It enabled me to go paperless to a large extent. The integration with QTO is exceptional to me since it can handle both PDF and DWG files, making measurements easy and precise. Cons The program lacks Windows shortcuts like Ctr+C etc. which makes it time consuming to perform basic task like copy and paste. I think it is very compatible with windows, allowas for easy importation and exportation of excel bill of quantities documents. Once measures have been linked to an item it updates automatically as you add or subtract. Allows for comprehensive comparisons of original vs. actual quantities. Payment certificates are easy to create and share. Very good integration with BuildSmart Pros Fairly easy to understand and use, even if you are used to software such as DimensionX. Easy importation/exportation of Excel BOQ. Cons Sometimes while using a tool the curser seems to jump to other areas of the screen not being used. No shortcut key to quickly select the same tool being used. The costing and program tracking must also be one of the best features. The use of this resource has proved invaluable to our organization. The ability to manage drawings effectively is another big plus regarding the software. It has allowed us to work collaboratively with engineers, architects and the like. With the built in auto save function, i know that my work is always safe in case of any accidental errors. and lastly, i cannot express how grateful i am for the constant support from RIB, whenever i need assistance, they are eager to help and very knowledgeable about the product itself. Cons Candy currently does not work well with one drive and we've experienced issues where the current working file was saved through a one drive path, but then the next time i wish to use that file, it is then an issue with how it is saved. I generally have no issues when saving to my C drive, however, my company protocol is to work off of onedrive and this causes some additional (unnecessary) work for me. Admittedly the monthly price tag does put off getting an additional license to allow more employees to use this software and if RIB could look at exploring more flexible package options that could suit certain use case, i feel the user base could only increase Review Source BI Bruce I. Pros Easy to use and accurate cost calculations. Masters, resource lists and price code worksheets easy to setup, import to new jobs and manage. Everything from the pricing, program (schedule), cashflow and project control is carried out in one package. Creating accurate reliable information is easy. Reliable outputs. Cons Updates to software sometimes come with "bugs" which are frustrating. Customised reports do not always work so well. Intergration with software outside RIB Candy is not always so smooth. It has made preparing and reviewing of estimates much easier compared to using the traditional Excel. Pros Quantity takeoff which can is linked to the BOQ. This is helpful especially when there are changes to drawings and design during tender stage.
