We deal with importing goods from continents all over the world all batched in varying volumes, which was a total headache. We went from 15+ spreadsheets to something so slick it has greatly reduced my time needed. In fact, when I added up the time to manage the spreadsheets it totalled 248hrs per year. Learning the terminology was a bit tricky, to begin with, and with our many bulk products breaking down to smaller units it took a while to get everything into the system but with the help of the unleashed team and the training program, I have everything in the system running and I would not look back. I only wish I did it sooner. Don't think about it, just do it. Cons Terminology is a bit hard to figure out if you are new to this field. It would be great if there was an android based app as well! February 27, 2017 5.0 I use Unleashed daily, and it's so easy to process orders, assemble products, disassemble products and build bill of materials. It also integrates with xero our accounting software so that's a huge bonus. The batch tracking function is also the bees knees! Having entered into a company with 5 existing users its been hard to interrogate the system - but with help from \[SENSITIVE CONTENT\] I have been able to make it work for me and my role. The tutorials are also very helpful and these are easily locate don the website. Im still learning everyday about unleashed and what it can do ..... Cons The Vision setting doesn't seem to read inventory very well - it can show sales figures but doesn't show inventory by unit so that's disappointing but I'm still working through it all and hope in 6 months time that I will be using the software to its full potential - I need more assistance with forecasting so that might need a add on package which I guess for cost purposes could be a con but I haven't quite got that far yet. I also like the app that means I can access orders from my phone or my iPad, which is useful. Cons We dislike the inability to show batches on invoices. Founder, CEO Retail Used the software for: 1-2 years ### "Lacks even the most basic 'smarts' required for retail inventory management and customer service is woeful" October 7, 2018 2.0 We are an online retail business, running on Shopify, with approximately 2000 SKU's. I've heard good things about U/L from product creators with small product catalogues but this is not a solution for a serious retail business. Pros It captures landed costs and margins and is the SaaS platform that can be accessed from anywhere and more convenient to maintain vs. PC based software. Cons Good luck integrating with Xero without costly setup via accountants. Extremely limited in terms of real world functionality. We still have not been able to perform a simple stock take due to the systems' considerable limitations and no one on the U/L customer service team is willing to help us beyond explaining Unleashed's limitations and how we must conform to them. Out of the box reporting is woeful. We had to integrate with Power BI to gain any meaningful insights. Customer service team are lovely people but not solution focused. If asking for a (seemingly common sense) solution to a problem, expect many emails back and forth with no resolution. Review Source Phill D. I am writing this review because I was very happy with Unleashed, and the only reason I changed was because Tradegecko developed an integration with WooCommerce which was of huge value to me. Pros It was an easy system to set up and use. It allows you to customise your invoices which is a feature that Tradegecko could definitely benefit from. Cons I think the price has gone up recently on new subscribers of this system. I didn't see any change in price which was greatly appreciated, but when I was reviewing Unleashed vs Tradegecko it did appear the price had gone up. I also felt like the system itself was not evolving quickly enough. The system was fantastic when I first got it, but after 2 years a system like this needs to develop or it will die. It enables easy management of sales, purchases, and control of stock. Cons The manufacturing side of the software (bill of materials etc) is not good. You can't relate a BOM to a sales order or a customer when you print out the BOM to be manufactured. The reporting side of the software is not good either - it's hard to get stock reports that include assembled items. Review Source KW Kim W. I used to use excel spreadsheets to keep track of my inventory components, purchases and completed pieces. Moving across to Unleashed has encouraged me to improve my profit margins, sped up the quotation process and ensure that I have popular components on hand. Using Assemblies and Bills of Materials ensures that I am quoting at the most up-to-date prices. I also like being able to store images against inventory items. Finally, I love the integration with Xero. Cons The templates for invoices and sales can be cumbersome to use. Being able to move text elements and have them snap to a grid wold help (i know there have been some updates recently but I have not tried them yet, so this may be solved). Review Source Ben T. Pros API integration directly with leading accounting platforms and CMS. Powerful search functionality. Ability to customise and fine-tune everything as desired. Simple things like bulk updates through CSV files. Cons Can be slow to use. Not all of this is due to the performance of Unleashed, as local internet capability may be a factor. Though there could be speed improvements. Reporting is good but not great, though I know this is currently being addressed. Reconciliation between accounting software and Unleashed can be tricky, though this is more an internal issue. Being able to adjust for damage and warranties is something which assists us during the year and makes our auditing easier. Cons not being able to change a sale once its been dispatched/completed. Also on the pricing options, i dont like the fact that as a legacy customer we have not been automatically given all of the new user rights at our original price level. If you release new features (Iphone app access) i would have thought we would have been given access to it, regardless of you changing your pricing levels. Allows you to invoice without stock being in system Cons Drop down lists too short should have more in the lists and a scroll feature always not just sometimes. this makes it very slow to check stock as you need to use the arrows on the stck card to scroll instead of the drop down at the search bar. Limited search of client database Product Comments section is in a column- would be better if you could type a line of comment across the page as per the product description. not a 9 character line 10 lines long in the column looks unprofessional on quotes and wastes lots of paper. How many screens and saves does it need to create a customer name address and phone number . Not good if you have the customer on the phone. Price and availability enquiry cannot be done from 1 screen. painfully slow when trying to provide option to customer on the phone. invoice Form design is feral especially if using additional discount on top of tier structure. setup functions/customising and layouts are inconsistent across different screens- Lots of clever stuff you may not use- Pros Good marketing and support, plenty of powerful tools and cliches. January 24, 2019 5.0 Pros Our company is new to Unleashed but the professional onboarding service has made our system changeover very pleasant and smooth. We were taken care of by the onboarding specialist, all our problems were answered, she's professional and very knowledgeable in the system. It's been amazing learning from her and having her support, changing or starting new systems can be very daunting and rep has helped us make this entire experience absolutely amazing. I highly recommend Unleashed! Cons So far it's been great! It can be overwhelming if you haven't used a detailed inventory system like this before, but with the onboarding support, you'll find all the things you were feeling overwhelmed about will be fine after speaking to the support team. Pros Unleashed has been a very important part of our business since we started. We use Unleashed for our manufacturing, IM and sales. It is a vital part of the ease of ordering our ingredients and packaging, manufacturing our drinks, managing our inventory, monitoring our cost of good sold and invoicing our customers. It does this seamlessly and interacts with our Xero system seamlessly - too easy. Cons A bit slow in operation, especially compared to invoicing system Xero. Accounting Used the software for: 1-2 years ### "UNLEASHED NOT FIT FOR REAL TIME INTEGRATION TO VEND HQ" May 18, 2017 1.0 Cons We've been using Unleashed at one of my clients for the past year. The client have four retail shops running Vend that integrates through to Unleashed. Although the functionality in the software is quite good (not as user friendly as DEAR INVENTORY), the support is really pathetic. We are struggling now for more than a week with data that is not pulling through from VEND. The support team cannot give any substantive feedback. I phoned them, paid an extra fee per month for "PRIORITY SUPPORT" to just get hold of somebody after nobody replied on my emailed support requests. That also did not help. There is no need to pay extra for NO EXTRA SUPPORT. I would not recommend Unleashed for use in ANY environment where there integration to VEND is needed. The integration between Dear Inventory and Vend is much more sophisticated and it does not have breakdowns like Unleashed. If you are having difficulties with the implementation of the system just give them a ring or send an email, and they will respond the same day. They will plan a shared screen session to clear things up. Make sure you have accurate supplier, customer, product, etc. details available at the moment when you start implementing, it saves you a bunch of time. Pros The customer service of Unleashed is outstanding. Cons Unleashed doesn't offer a shipping cost option which can make things complicated. Regarding shipping costs, we have a feature on the roadmap called 'charge lines', which will allow you add freeform costs to any sales order - that is, a pre-existing never diminishing product you've set up for shipping, or simply whatever you want to choose to type in. This will most likely be released in the second quarter of this year, barring any unforeseen difficulties - however if it's delayed at all, it's only because we're ensuring it's right before we release this feature. Extremely useful assembly / bill of materials support -- better than any competing software that I am aware of. Good integration support. For years, our company searched for an inventory management software that could integrate with our ecommerce, bick-and-mortar point of sale, and accounting softwares as well as support the inventory processes of light manufacturing. Unleashed surprised us by offering all of this. Since switching from another brand-name SAAS IM system, we haven't looked back. Cons Support is helpful, however we've had one issue with an integration that took a fairly long time to resolve. We are a laboratory that does tests and research. Managing our inventory is normally a real pain, but unleashed has helped us control what we do. Since we're working with formula's, it was really hard to find a competitive product that could deal with multilayered BOMs. Unleashed exceeded our expectations. They also keep adding features which is great. Integration with Quickbooks is also very handy. Additionally their customer support is very fast and accurate with punctual follow up.
