It keeps a lot of varied admin tasks in one place and automated. Cons It's not the nicest software to use, it's a bit clunky, especially using alongside other software when trying to position windows. Usually a minor complaint but in this type of software, being able to run alongside other applications flexibly is quite important to me. Pros For such an inexpensive system Shop Mate has a huge range of functions, all the elements needed to really get the production floor running smoothly. Starting with Estimates which can generate quick quotes that can be emailed directly to the customer. When the customer accepts the quote, it can be used to rapidly create the sales order, which can then easily start the job in the factory. Then the schedule calculates when the job will be started and finished, assigning the best and available resources to get the job completed on-time. If some materials are not in stock, then the purchasing function calculates what is needed, and if vendor quotes are recorded, who is the best vendor to get it from considering cost and delivery time. The integration between each module is really slick, and designed to minimize effort and data entry. Cons Whilst the applications run in a windows environment, some windows do not allow flexible resizing of the window, or user selection of the columns to display or hide.
