Comments: The practice management side of their system is reasonable though old. The EHR is miserable. I am an Ob/Gyn physician and our office has been using it for a number of years. We have been unhappy with it from the beginning but it is expensive to change. We are now changing EHRs regardless of the expense because the service is so terrible and they are so expensive. If you need help or support, the process is to place a phone call, open a ticket, and wait 2 wks for a response. Only one person from the office is designated to be allowed to communicate with support, so I, as the provider using the thing cannot actually call and talk to anyone. The EHR has always been behind on updates and will not run on the newest versions of internet explorer. We have to keep outdated versions installed on our computers to use the system. All updates, fixes, etc. are charged to you on top of your regular fees. They nickel-and-dime you for everything. You can save frequently used phrases but only as non-editable blocks, which is annoying for drafting notes. The customer catered to for this company appears to be insurance companies and the government. Your needs as an office or medical provider are an afterthought and treated as a nuisance.

We are actively looking to replace this product with something better.

Pros: The software is simplistic and functions more like a case management and billing system rather than an EHR. The billing side of the software works with a fair amount of consistency making sure that cash flow is not a concern. In our experience we have been assigned a support representative and account rep making communication consistent with the software company. In general the representatives understand our business model making the support process easier than needing to explain your entire process to a new person each time.

Cons: CG charges the customer for all support, even when the product is not functioning properly. The EHR does not allow for customization of the front-end and in our experience we have used fields for purposes other than what was intended by the developers making it difficult for new users to understand the software. The design is outdated and lacks an intuitive interface.

Recommendations to other buyers: Make sure that the software will interface with all clearinghouses and payers that are in use. This software requires that all new users be set-up via an application process. Ensure that your workflow and operations can wait for new hires to start providing services in the software. This EHR, in our experience, does not operate like an EHR, but rather more like a billing and case management system. Make sure to connect with other companies similar to yours to find out their pain points and what work-arounds that have had to put in place.

Pros: I love this EMR, it is 100% Web Based, and the speed is incredible. The templates are easy to navigate, and I can set it up to follow my work flow exactly how I want. I have been very impressed with how easy it is to navigate, and use. It was also very easy to learn, since it follows clinical logic. Great system!

Cons: It is relatively unknown because they have a large footprint in the SW, I wish their were more users in my area.

Recommendations to other buyers: You need to find a system that works for you. We were very happy with the performance, our last system lagged, and it was really uncomfortable when patients had to wait on us to document their visit, but WebEHR, was fast and flipped thru documentation just like a paper chart. Great System!!
