Pros: If you want to stick to just basics and you need a clean, responsive E-commerce site, then Shopify is for you. No programming knowledge is required and there are many fine templates to choose from, and you can always find more. If you are interested in starting online, Shopify is a good choice because it offers a PCI compliant and secure shopping cart and payment gateway solution. Adding products to Shopify is surprisingly fast and easy but you are limited to 100 Variants. Shipping integration with USPS, UPS and Fedex is included and integrates with many popular software via Add ons. Things like email marketing, product feeds, and popups are easy to find and setup. And you can export your products to Google, and setup customer reviews with some other add ons. Having all these extra with add ons is both good and bad, and customers should be aware of the small downsides to Shopify.

Cons: Most things come included, however any extra customization requires some kind of add-on with monthly charge. Thankfully they have a good amount of add-ons to choose from, but most have fake reviews. Shopify much like other modern shopping carts is unable to store credit cards, out of the box. If your business needs to charge a customer for re-shipping, you have to create an invoice each time using an addon or creating a new order. Customer support is responsive but very general, but the basic Shopify will suit most small business owners. I am however not like most people, and like more customization. You cannot customize things too much other than what templates and add ons offer. Development on Shopify is highly difficult and goes above and beyond html / css however you can make some small changes like adding an image, or a link, a variable, or a tracking script with a look in their help center.

Overall: Helped a friend setup multiple online businesses.

Pros: Good UI but some of the simple options available with other ecommerce products are unavailable or cost extra. For example, if you want to calculate shipping for each item (as opposed to a flat shipping charge) you have to pay extra monthly. Also, you cannot adjust image sizes. If you want a different size image for the category page and the product page, you have to upload 2 images.

Cons: This may be a good platform to start your online experience with, despite the high fees. However, I've run into an unexpected hurdle that I can not seem to resolve. I have had a chargeback (stolen credit card) from an order. It was settled, I had to pay out of my pocket. After I covered the chargeback willingly to keep my store operating, they froze my orders and would not let my money out of my account. They have started a fraud investigation on me, and requested my re-seller agreements and shipping and tracking information for my latest orders, which I produced promptly. This is not the frustrating part. I understand the importance of security and fraud prevention and would assist in any way I can to resolve the issue. It has now been two weeks since I submitted all the required information for review, and I have not heard anything back. No, we've received it and it's in review no we need more information. NOTHING. I have been calling back and they would not let me talk to the person who requested the information from me, because he is either out of the office, or we are unable to transfer your call directly to him. I have sent many emails directly to the investigator, starting off with nice and progressively more frustrated, but still professional and non-offensive.

Pros: If you want to build an ecommerce website and you have little to no experience with web development, then Shopify is your place to go. Anybody can easily get something set up in less than a day and begin selling immediately. I have created multiple websites on Shopify for myself and it is a very user-friendly platform with a lot of basic functionality that you will need in your business. Shopify can automate many steps in the process of selling products, and it will also act as a central hub for all your customer and product information. If I wanted to set up a website from scratch or piecing together other applications, it would take a lot of time and proabably cost me a lot more than the monthly cost of Shopify.

Cons: Shopify is perfect for getting you going and it's great if you have a pretty standard and straightforward product line. If, however, you need to have some kind of a custom made function on your website, it's possible you can run into some hurdles. Shopify is in a tricky situation where they are trying to cater to those with little tech skills, but also needs to be able to work well with those that DO have the tech skills and want to customize things. One thing that is frustrating with Shopify is you're limited in certain ways when it comes to customizing website themes. You also are not allowed to upload your own theme. You must purchase the theme through Shopify. You are limited in your ability to customize the checkout page on your website.

Comments: Overall, Shopify is the clear leader in their industry. Do they have shortcomings? Sure. But compared to their competitors, the shortcomings are few and far between. After all, no system will ever be exactly perfect to your unique business unless you decide to build your own software which comes with the glitches and lack of functionality that building your own software entails.

Pros: AMAZING CUSTOMER SERVICE. Shopify is entirely unparalleled in this regard. Their live chat option is not only convenient but staffed by PEOPLE WHO ACTUALLY KNOW WHAT THEY ARE TALKING ABOUT! They are not an outside tech support and it is clear how well each of them is versed in the system and its capabilities. Another amazing feature about Shopify is the plethora of apps that are available in order to customize your system (many of which are free!). This means that if Shopify is lacking in any way in terms of your particular business needs, there is definitely an app for it.

Cons: 1. They dont allow for multiple warehouses/locations in their inventory system! 2. They dont allow for cost of goods (COGs) vs. Retail pricing in their system which means it is completely useless for any inventory management or accounting needs 3. Their inventory system doesn't have an "inventory taking" system built in which means it has to be done manually (NOT an option for anyone who has ever had to actually manage an inventory. which i assume is ALL of us) Overall, their shortcomings are ENTIRELY within the inventory department which is such an essential aspect of running a business and book keeping.

Pros: 1. Easy to use and hassle free. Analytics is super helpful.
2. There are some learning curves but it is easy to get accustomed.
Shopify constantly add up new features like social network integrations, new sales channels, added security and so on.
3. A lot of Apps to try although it is the double-edged sword. It is easy to determine which app you will pick based on a lot of reviews compared to different platforms.
4. Their default payment system - Stripe is very easy to set up. PayPal and Amazon Payment integrations are also very easy to set up.
5. Facebook, Pinterest and Instagram shopping integration is awesome. It is really helpful either send more customers to your website or real sales on those platforms.
6. Amazon and eBay integrations are not that great but worth to try.

Cons: Apps, Apps, Apps. If you want to add up some features that means you have to pay the extra money and also you might need to sacrifice your site's speed because of the added codes from Apps. Not every App but some Apps will definitely drag your site's speed. Uninstalling Apps are easy but there might be some residues from uninstalled Apps. That is annoying sometimes.

Overall: We saved a lot of time and money to build our own website. Most importantly we can be assured by the stable service.

Pros: Really easy to setup without any technical knowledge and very cheap options. I find it ideal for startups beginning their journey and business that want to go online with very low investment needed. It has also a wide ecosystem of plugins that you and add for the non out of the box functionalities, a lot of them for free and really easy to install and configure. Also one thing to remark is that you don't need to worry about hosting or capability as you scale the business as they take care of all of that + CDN for best perfomance. Also it has a more professional suite just in case you need more support.

Cons: The 2 most deceiving facts about Shopify for me is when you go international as it does not support multicurrency or different stores by country sharing stock (you need to create a different shopify for all of them)., that sometimes impact conversion as even if you are capable of doing some tweaks to show different currencies you can only transact in on, same happening with the localization of the site, which is not good for SEO purposes. the second thing is the fact that you cannot customize the checkout funnel, that provides the system to be more stable btu does not allow you to do A/B testing and improve conversion on checkout.

Overall: Quick and cheap setup

Pros: -Shopify lets you sell via your Facebook page
-Allows you to use Shopify in a physical location to sell goods / manage inventory
-Gives you access to Shopify's Buy Button, which allows you to sell goods on an existing website or blog.
-Top notch security measures keeping my transactions secured
-Brilliant customer support team
-Keeps a track of my inventory in a much effecient way
-Get detailed analysis and reports on my sales and forecasts
-Easy to use and understand software
-Interface is well designed making me addicted to the software
-Integration with Paypal
-Value for money

Cons: -A lot of Unnecessary deductions by Shopify like Credit Card rate of 1.6-2.2% for every transaction via credit card
-Shopify payments not available in many countries
-Only 10 themes available with the free plan
-Software crashes sometimes when I try to export data

Overall: I have benefited a lo from Shopify. Shopify has surely helped me in running my online business. I haven't earned much yet through this platform because I feel I'm still new to this online realm. I have more online presence with an increasing customer base. I can sell my products easily without any hassle. The return I am getting from just a small investment in this portal, this is just astonishing. As everything is online, I don't have to give this business a lot of attention as I know it still keeps on running without my intervention. The analysis feature helps a lot in marketing my product to the right market further bringing in more income for me. My inventory is well managed, payments are received securely and also my customers are growing. Clearly this is quite beneficial for the expansion of my business

Pros: Shopify has been providing a very easy to use and powerful SaaS e-commerce platform for years. I can't even imagine using a non-SaaS shopping cart these days and Shopify is my go to product - even for sites that don't sell anything - purely for the ease of use of the content management (blog, pages). With a massive amount of site themes and 3rd party add-on apps, so much is possible. And, with help from a knowledgeable programmer, you can really make Shopify do anything with it's native language, Liquid. I think the real defining moment with Shopify for me that continues to happen is when I turn a less technical client onto Shopify and they don't call me for help because they intuitively figured it out. That alone is a massive accomplishment. But, I love all the other very thoughtfully engineered things like automatically connecting to GoDaddy to setup a domain.

Cons: There are some limitations in terms implementing more complex catalogs or functionalities that often will require a 3rd party app. An example might be very complex business rules for shipping in terms of multiple products that require multiple boxes, etc.

Overall: Ease of use and endless opportunity.

Pros: Shopify is a platform focused on product and inventory managment for your online sales. It allows you to tack your inventory and have reports on your sales. You might say "well, others can do that as well" and the answer is yes, but can they do it better? Shopify is a software as a service, self hosted with a monthly pament. For setting up a quick shop for someone not tech saavy at all Shopify is perfetc, just a few clicks and you're earning money. If you have a physical store the POS is free! Customer service people is always happy and gentle.

Cons: Lack of customization for the product structure at the development level. You end up doing "tricks" with tags and tables inside the content of the product to do some cutomizations at template level. Customer service is a fallacy, yes, they have a chat and they talk with you but 3/3 times I've used it they said my problem was going to be resolved later, that they would open a ticket for that and they never happened (I had to open again a chat in order for them to remind my case). Layout of the admin sections is not clear enough, many links and sections are hidden in undescriptive links.

Overall: Blazing fast developments, more customers, more earnings

Pros: It's really easy to integrate different applications and tune-up your store. Thing is, some of the applications are very cheap and very easy to implement because they're made for the platform- That's the real beauty of Shopify for me. Custom platforms are the best way to go when only you're ready for the investment they require, and I, having over 6 years of experience with website management, would definitely not recommend that venture especially if you're a starter. You cut very key costs and just pay subscription- a whole building of Shopify company-hired developers work to make the platform better. Shopify is just easy, and it is very scalable which makes it a great choice for a store that sells a lot of different products. If you're selling 1-5 products, I would recommend a funnel.

Cons: More features to the below-enterprise plan are needed. Checkout code and Cart code easy accesses and customization. Shopify Platform-Integrated Emails Panel is an essential change, must be added. It should also be able to synchronize with email marketing software such as Klaviyo, Conversio and others such as Mailchimp. -Email marketing is on a HUGE rise according to Salesforce 2017 report -Follow the trend ;) The only feature between the second and third plans is abandoned carts and it's nowhere as good as what email marketing apps provide, and, having in mind the bigger investment- I bet most of the stores on this plan don't use the Shopify-integrated one.

Pros: When using it to process payments, it's intuitive to use. Simply use the search bar to search product name or SKU and relevant products with photos comes up. It's best used for products with few variants or with detailed variants. In our cafe, it allows baristas to show all customizations of drinks right on the receipt which increases efficiency in our store. We can also adjust what tax applies on each order or product in the order, and can create discounts on the spot.

Also, it offers a 'quick sale' function which allows the staff member to add a product without going to the back end of the system. Additionally, customers can be added to the order meaning that our stored customer information can be added once the customer is ready for checkout. This is particularly useful when some customers have credits on their accounts, or have tax-free status.

Cons: While searching, even if the whole SKU is put in, Shopify POS (in its tile view) will only show the product, not the variant within it. Also, it doesn't show the SKU unless you press and hold the product image. This can be time-consuming and can sometimes lead to staff accidentally selecting the wrong product, despite knowing the exact SKU of the product they were looking for.

Also, if our wifi ever disconnects in the store, the POS on the ipads is rendered useless. There should be some way of temporarily logging orders placed while offline then uploading them to the system. And since the latest update, it takes about 4 steps to let a customer pay once the order has been input if they are paying with debit/credit since we use external terminals.

Pros: Shopify is the greatest E-Comm platform around and here's why. You can build a 1000+ product online store in under 5 hours (assuming you have your inventory database completed). You can import a theme from Shopify and give your store a beautiful, mobile optimized design, import your products, and launch your store so fast it will make your head spin. Shopify Payments is really easy to set up and really eliminates the whole "merchant service" middle-man piece that used to be an annoying step in building an online store. You also have full access to liquid html and CSS that can be easily customized, especially if you are a well-versed coder, and make your site as custom as you'd like...just stay within the general guidelines otherwise it may not optimize as you'd like.

Cons: The monthly fees are a little high especially in the higher tier membership options, but it is a very good software and definitely deserves the entry level fees they charge. Other than that I have no complaints.

Overall: Love Shopify. Over 10 different online stores with Shopify currently running and I love every second of it! Great software!!

Comments: I migrated my store from another platform to Shopify. As a non-technical store owner, I was able to achieve more in 7 days than I was able to on 3 months on a different platform. The hosted aspect of Shopify handles a large portion of the technical pains that arise when running a transactional website. As a result, I was able to put more time into improving the products, marketing and growing the business. Not to mention, I almost entirely eliminated the need for a full time developer to make sure the back end is properly working, everyday. The main objective with eCommerce is to grow and get to profitability fast, not fiddle around with hosting and ensuring that apps are not clashing.

Pros: The low technical skill requirement, the availability of 3rd party apps to enhance the store, the general excitement and size of the community, the availability of vetted experts through their expert directory are all clear advantages. The cherry on top is the attention to design and user experience that is offered through the Shopify dashboard and with the themes in the theme store. Lastly, and most importantly, the customer support is amazing. I once emailed them at 1am on a Sunday morning and got a response in 15 min. What? Overall, it's just an easy, pleasant experience - but still, don't underestimate the amount of work it takes to put up a profitable shop.

Cons: A downside, and it's surely being worked on and considered - is that it's quite complicated to take advantage of theme updates if you've purchased a theme from the theme shop. For this, you need to find technical help and do it very carefully, but this is where the experts directory helps. Shopify takes feedback from the community very seriously and it's why they've experience such awesome growth.

Pros: Full-featured and powerful e-commerce platform. You only need to choose template from a large number of proposed and customize it for your style. No design skills needed. It is very easy to add new sales channels, manage a large number of your products, set up to place orders with one click, easily follow your progress and track popular products among your potential buyers. Shopify is a convenient platform for selling any product. With the help of Shopify, I was able to sell faster my company products, track what my customers liked more and work on what really makes a profit. For me, it was easy to set up this platform for e-commerce. All functions suit me completely and meet all my parameters. If you purchase this software, you will get a lot of benefits, and a great platform for e-commerce. The only thing that I would advise, is to spend more time designing the template at the initial stage, to think over all the nuances in advance. At the first time in Shopify you will feel all the simplicity and powerful of this service, it cannot be easier.

Cons: The only thing I would like to edit my template, but I cannot do it already, everything needs to be done correctly at the initial stage. In addition, the import of products through the CSV file system seemed a bit more complicated than necessary.

Pros: The platform (from the perspective of a developer, not a shopkeeper) is fantastic. It takes a bit to learn, but it was clearly built thoughtfully with the aim of making it a seamless process for a store owner to get online and serve their customers quickly. Compared to building a shop with Shopify vs Wordpress vs from scratch, Shopify is good at doing what it set out to do.

Cons: The support/community available to developers is nothing like the open source support/community that is available for other tools. As I was getting started developing, I felt like Shopify provided excellent documentation for folks interested in opening a shop, but not so much for developers trying to learn the system. The basic documentation is there from Shopify, but there isn't a central place where one can go and find answers to the tricky bits one runs into over the course of developing a theme/shop. I get it that they're trying do develop an ecosystem that is mutually beneficial to developers and shopkeepers and Shopify and so maybe it's intentional to make you have to 'earn' it to keep the pool of people involved tight.

Overall: It is quick to get started developing and has great basic documentation and support for shopkeepers.

Pros: Beginners can make easy use of this software like I did around 5 or so years ago. Advanced users can toy around with CSS if they want. It's a great platform that has a lot of easy to use and useful features. Great if you want to start simple but eventually learn more and more as you progress and learn advanced techniques. Can't really do that with Wix, and I thought Squarespace would be the same way based on what I've heard about it. Want to open up a store online right away for a low cost and come out with something that looks great with minimal effort? Shopify is for you.

Cons: I really don't have anything bad to say. More customization if I want to get nit picky, but I'd just go to Wordpress and build something from scratch there if I needed to, it will just take me longer so Shopify is the way to go as long as it has everything you need, and for a lot of people it does.

Overall: Excellent. Started a business back in college and used Shopify, made quite a bit of beer money which was great.

Pros: - A Shopify website can look clean & beautiful right out of the gate. - There are thousands of add ons that make Shopify able to fit almost any ecommerce situation - You can work with a new theme, while you're existing theme stays in place, instead of working with a duplicate or "staging" environment - Customer support is amazing. Gurus are responsive and savvy, and can be accessed by chat, phone or email (unlike other companies that rely primarily on community support forums)

Cons: - It's not easy to set up, surprisingly. There are so many features and add ons that it makes the process incredibly complicated. And, things aren't where I'd expect them to be (settings, preferences, etc) - Themes and add ons can make the price of Shopify deceptively expensive. Once a website is generating profit this might be a good thing, but considering how long it can take to get a site fully functional, it can be quite a large start up cost. - You need to feel comfortable editing code, or hiring a designer to make changes to the design - If you want to switch to a new (or more modern theme) you'll need to start all of your design again. Not just design, but product layouts, page layouts. Everything starts over from scratch again. - Support times are often very long

Pros: Easy of use and seamless integration. Shopify is really easy to use and easy to develop with. It has many payment options and the integration is seamlessly. There are multiple and beautiful templates. Also there are many applications that extends the basics functionality of Shopify. As a developer i like Shopify because we can deliver a project in the shortest time possible. As a user, i like the intuitiveness of the platform and the options it provides. The new 'Sections' features have been a major success, allowing the themes to be super dynamic

Cons: The coupons functionality is very tight and inflexible. You can't combine multiple coupons at a time. Also the navigation functionality needs some enhancements like drag n' drop functionality to create submenus. Another thing that needs improvement is the filtering collection functions.

Overall: As a developer I managed to deliver projects in less time. As a user I increase the sales of various customers.

Comments: I wish they would go back to the previous version. The update that was made several months back decreased the ease of use. Overall it is still the best for integrating our website and POS.

Pros: It is very simple to use Shopify to integrate our website and products in our various locations. I really like how simple it is to add a new product or remove a product. Also, I like how simple it is to change product descriptions and add pictures. Discounts are also easy to add at checkout. Also, I do find it simple to see sales based on location with Shopify. This is a feature that I use on a regular basis.

Cons: Ever since it was updated, it is much harder to use and more confusing for my staff to pull register reports. I also have found that the plug-ins are not as straight forward as they should be. We use AppCard and shippo plug-ins, but I am not thrilled with either. I wish it was easier to use the full functionality of Shopify on the app, instead of needing to login on the web.

Shopify is by far the best shopping cart I've every used, and the POS is no exception.

Pros: VALUE. Shopify allowed us to have a free developer account to test and work through our hesitations before paying a penny for the cart. The POS system comes with the cart for free, it works flawlessly on any apple device, I haven't tried the android offering, but I'm sure it's great as well. The account comes with multiple logins for managing employees with specified permissions for keeping eyes and fingers out of places they shouldn't be. And to top it all off it has a fantastic API connection that allows us to connect it to our Fishbowl Inventory Management system, which brings in the orders from both cart and POS and sorts the inventory out, handles the shipping with shipstation, posts back tracking and fulfills the orders in shopify and all the while capturing all the financial data in QB. I could seriously fire multiple employees for all the time and work this automation is doing for me.

Cons: If I had to complain it would be that there are some things you can't customize that you might be able to with one of the self hosted carts such as magento, woocommerce, or even magento 2.

Overall: It's constantly saving us money. With Shopify POS we don't have to spend anything extra for the POS support that connects into our existing shopping cart.

Pros: What I like the most is the multiple payment options and the ease of setup of them. The Shopify Payment Gateway has lower commissions in comparison with others. As a developer, I like Shopify because it has allowed me to deliver robust e-commerce sites in less time than with other platforms. The Shopify store has beautiful themes and many apps that expands the functionalities and capabilities of the platform.

Cons: I really like Shopify but sometimes the most basic task could be cumbersome: filtering collections by options as color, size or type in a more complex way could only be done with applications, no native support (consider that other platforms manage this without the use of apps or plugins). Also, when developing themes with Shopify, reusing sections in different pages could not be done at the time of writing this review.

Overall: I have been able to deliver projects more quickly providing the client with a robust, secure and easy to use platform.

Pros: This is exactly the one you are looking for if you want something that doesn¿t involve any extra programming knowledge. Also if you want to begin a career via the online market, Shopify is the best option. Regular notifications are received through email and messages, which helps a lot for online shoppers. Shipping prices are reasonable. Customer service is appreciable. The payment methods are easy to use.

Cons: The thing is, for every add-on, extra payment has to be made for the month. Customization is not a good shot here. If the person knows how to customize, Shopify can be a problem as it basically is for the beginners. If you wish to have your own themes, this ain¿t the place for this. Everything is literally bought and sold in Shopify. For every add-on app, more money has to be put in, plus you will experience a time lag, since each added app implies a lot of additional codes.

Pros: I like how everything I need to have an online shop/e-commerce site can be done with Shopify, and how easy it is to set everything up, and actually have my e-commerce site up and running within a day. From selling physical products, to customized ones, or even drop-shipping, everything is just made easy with Shopify. Everything is complete, and can be done within the Shopify system.

Cons: I would probably say that I didn't like how changing the themes and widgets weren't so beginner-friendly. You'd need to be a bit knowledgeable in code to tweak the existing themes. Not that the themes they have aren't good, but sometimes, you just want to change it up a bit, so that's just the only issue I have.

Overall: I love that I was able to set-up my e-commerce website in a day, and that Shopify saved me a ton of time, and effort by making it super easy and that everything is really straightforward to use. I was able to focus on other aspects of my business without having to spend a ton of money on a new website by having to hire a developer. Shopify saved me money and time, and I think it's a great option for startups like me.

Pros: The website is very user-friendly and making purchases was very easy. You are also given an email verification after your purchase.

Cons: I ordered a Dewalt drill through Shopify and waited over 2 months for a ship date verification. I contacted shopify customer support and even though the vendor on their site did not follow through on my order, that there was nothing they could do about it. I would have expected the customer service rep to at least attempt getting in touch with their vendor before brushing me off. I have copy and pasted the email.

Pros: This is hands down the best online website builder that lets you make an eCommerce (online shopping) website out of the box. The integration features it has are impressive, because you can do anything from integrating buttons into Pinterest posts, to selling T-Shirts that are printed automatically by someone else at a factory and then automatically shipped to people,... it's super flexible and powerful. I use it for two of my online stores!

Cons: The setup time on it is a little long for my taste, but it's probably because I am not as familiar yet with setting up Shopify sites as I am with other technologies.... however, once it's setup it's really, really easy to use!

Overall: I love Shopify's ability to let me make a dedicated eCommerce product page, use powerful SEO functions to make it discoverable by consumers online, make the page optimized for paid traffic if I want it to be, and then integrate a direct link with that page right from a button in Pinterest, which makes the page even more valuable in terms of getting products into the hands of my prospects!

Pros: Shopify is one of the few platforms that provides their Point of Sale system which works with ecommerce systems to allow any updates of merchandise and inventory to be made instantly. This is by far the biggest pro of Shopify. It also has blogging capabilities which is a great way of advertising products. The CSV is a handy way to import existing customers and product information.

Cons: The back end is NOT easy to learn. You are going to have to get some on-line training in order to build your 'collections" , don't say "categories". Shopify has their own jargon, maybe because they use liquid. Even if you know HTML & CSS, it won't help you much. You will find yourself getting frustrated and will probably want to hire a Shopify Expert (they aren't cheap). Also, while Shopify offers many add-ons very few of them are free.

Pros: The flexibility of the platform using themes for UI and apps for features and options on both the front-end and the back-end as well as the widespread adoption of the Shopify platform by both developers and merchants make it the best choice for most business cases. There are many ways to create feeds and advertisements and there are also plenty of social media integrations.

Cons: The Shopify team has been reinvesting all their revenue back into platform improvements and expansion for several years -- anything that has been an issue in the past has eventually been improved or fixed. For our variant cases Size and Color there have been some usability issues for how variant images and image galleries can be set up and linked and this could be improved.

Pros: It gives your website a professional and polished look, and the software does have lots of functionality and integration with other application as well too.

Cons: 1. The costs as with most extra functions being at add-on cost, this platform is very expensive. The basic package only gives limited functionality, beyond that the professional packages start to incur high monthly premiums. Although you can pay annually, it is still a high cost with app charges,
and sales transaction charges on top.
2. The SEO on this platform needs lots of improvement, including canonical links and users unable to access w3c and other areas to improve ranking.
3. Beware of buying unique themes as Shopify does not ensure the creators comply with SEO or provide free updates for changes. Users are even expected to fund developers to update theme updates!
4. Given blogging is not only a vital source of traffic, but also a great website ranking tool, this platform have given little thought about functionality of blogs including only basic fomattng and nobility to respond to reader comments on posts.
5. The way in which SSL certificates are shared across the platform is also of concern.

Pros: It's easy to use, even for the biggest technophobe, and the customer service is super helpful when things don't seem straightforward. The SEO optimization for any Shopify store is the best I've seen for any e-commerce platform and your store is easy to find for customers. The store themes are also beautiful and professional, which creates the best first impression for my products. It has secure payments, easy checkout, and everything is customizable. It's like everything is taken care of for you, so you can focus on enjoying your business!

Cons: The only thing I don't like about Shopify is calling for support outside of regular business hours - the waits are long, and the tech gurus don't seem to be as familiar with the software, or as able to get to the heart of your question, as those you get during the day

Overall: Increased exposure for my online business selling sustainable yogawear and yoga tools. Expansion of my inventory and greater opportunities to develop my business.

Comments: I have been in the eCommerce business for over 15 years. I worked with different platforms along the way, from custom built apps, to Wordpress and Amazon Webstore. I have tested, Magento, Volusion and countless others. Nothing comes close to Shopify. Shopify combines simple to use interface, which allows even non-techies to open a store. Yet under the hood, it is a powerful software providing a lot of room for customization (as long as you have the necessary knowledge, or hire it). One of its strongest features is the API, which allows it to connect to external applications. Combining its connectivity with its popularity, provide you with a wealth of external apps that can be used for almost anything you can think of: accounting, logistics, fulfillment, and more. If you can't find the app you require, you can hire someone to create it for you. Whether you are new to eCommerce or have many years of experience, do yourself a favor and give it a try.

Pros: Shopify is SaaS (Software as a service), which means no need for hosting, software updates, security seal and so on It include Integrated payment and reasonable fees Best of class customer service and support. Really the best. (Not mention that many other platform don't even have a customer support) Wonderful and easy to set up and use admin and back office. Great SEO Many add-ons and apps available. You can get started with practically no upfront cost. Shopify allows you to sell offline and online store

Cons: If you require many apps the cost per month could be somewhat expensive. Shopify created it's own script, called liquid, which may make it harder, in comparison with other platform, to find an experienced programmer.

I use Shopify every day for the small business I help manage.

Pros: Shopify is easy to use and easy to navigate. I really like the homepage with a dashboard snapshot of you business at that moment with a live view into your website visits, total day visits, sales, etc. I've started using it as a CRM instead of our other software. When you look up a customer it gives you a nice snapshot of their information, orders, history etc. Shopify also offers pretty decent analytics on your business performance and spending reports. You have access to even more reports if you upgrade.

Cons: I would like to be able to customize the reports that I download. You don't have a lot of flexibility on this front - this might be a part of the analytics upgrade but that upgrade is significantly more costly and not worth it for us at the moment.

Pros: - Easy to add products and get up and running in a short amount of time.
- Great customer database, easy to keep information up to date and accessible by all team members.
- Tons of integrations available.
- Excellent reporting once you learn how to use it.

Cons: - The default settings aren't always visually appealing and it can be challenging to create more aesthetically pleasing product listings. It requires a little more HTML knowledge to really customize, especially when you compare to some of the easier drag and drop sites (like Weebly).
- They are big company and therefore changes take forever to implement. Not making progress as quick as I would like to see.

Overall: Has helped grow our eCommerce business and increased overall conversions.

Pros: Where do I even begin? First of all, I got addicted to Shopify the first hour of playing with it. it's an extraordinary software that is pretty easy to learn that let's you make beautiful high-converting online stores. Also nothing beats hearing that cashing sound wherever I am. Oh and by the way. Shopify has the world's best support. In my world, that's a fact.

Cons: I've been using Shopify for 2 years and right now I'm sitting here and been thinking for 10 minutes to give some constructive feedback bht I can't come up with something. I'm not a developer. I absolutely adore this company.

Overall: My experience with Shopify has been excellent. It honestly improved my life so much. They have helped me build an online business that I can run anywhere in the world.

Pros: The dashboard and interface are easy to work with.
There is a lot of app integrations and you can pretty much connect it with anything to help simplify the running of your business.
There is a ton of wiki and help on the site itself and it is actually a real pleasure to use this system to run my clothing company.

I moved to this from Prestashop and the easy of editing your themes and templates are so much simpler here. overall I say that Shopify is a great product.

Cons: So far the only 2 drawback I am seeing is the fact that you are unable to connect any Amazon account that are not Amazon.com, so being that I sell on both Amazon.com and Amazon.ca I need to use a 3rd party app to make that connection. It would be nice if Shopify did this like it does for Amazon.com

My 2nd drawback is the inventory tracking. While the inventory tracking is great and simple to use for my specific purpose it is indeed to simple. I wish you had the ability to setup different warehouse so that when you have multiple locations it could track the inventory this way.

Pros: I used Shopify to sell some online services for a while and I started with the free trial. From the get go I could tell that Shopify was the right service for me, not only did they advertise my store for me, but they told me what to do to get more sales, and they were right. Shopify fees are minuscule compared to other sites, but it doesn't really matter since the profit made from Shopify outweighs the fees by so much. Overall, this is definitely the site I would recommend to sell online products and services through.

Cons: In the beginning, the Shopify interface was a bit confusing for me, but as I got used to it, and starting listing more services, I quickly became accustomed to using Shopify. There are little guides throughout Shopify that show you what certain buttons do so that helped, and there's an easy to see forum where you can check for Frequently Asked Questions that other users have had, which helped so much. Overall, even with the confusing interface in the beginning, once you get used to it, it's really easy to navigate through.

Pros: Integration; There's simply no other ecommerce platform that combines so many different integrations such as Google Shopping, Amazon, Pinterest, and FB. All this at little or no additional cost other than the monthly price.

Other than that, Shopify is very user-friendly. I can always intuitively figure my way out of a jam just by playing around a bit on the site. I went from beginner to novice to expert in just under 6 months doing this.

Cons: There are some features that are only available through paid apps, I think that should be eliminated to a certain degree. I know Shopify is adding some built-in features such as Ping, which is great. I hope it continues.

Pros: Speed and load times are fast. Secure and reasonable cost for hosting package. I've never worried about my site being totally secure. Cons: Monthly hosting costs and individual transaction costs can add up. Proprietary coding requires time to learn. Initial setup process is cumbersome if you're short on time but seems that each new version gets easier.

Comments: I love Shopify and have referred to many business owners interested in online selling.

Pros: My favorite thing is that Shopify is extremely affordable. They have a lot of different options for different budgets, which I really appreciate. The software is also very easy to learn, so creating your website and products descriptions is a breeze. However, what makes Shopify stand out the most is their customer service. It is by far the most amazing customer service I have ever experienced. I love to do things myself but am not a great learner from videos so I have called customer service A LOT and no matter what time of day or who I get, they provide the most amazing, patient, helping, and supportive customer service I have every seen.

Cons: My only complaint with Shopify is that is hard to tell what the final product will look like on your website. How the product appears on the Shopify page is not exactly how it looks from your website. However, it doesn't effect sales in a negative way, it is just a personal thing.

Comments: I definitely recommend Shopify for businesses that are going to sell a large number of items, or drop-ship. I've tested and used about a dozen other sites, and Shopify is one of the best for ecommerce.

Pros: Easy to create an account. Integrates with top payment processors but it's own merchant fees are very competitive. Have some good drop-shipping integrations that offer large amount of products. Good shopping cart experience. Can offer discount and coupons. Handles sales tax and shipping well. The layouts of the storefronts are good with ability to categorize products. Page loading speed is great.

Cons: Would like to see templates that have more customization options. Easier on-boarding and dashboards would be nice.

Comments: Opening our Shopify store was an absolute breeze! Prior to Shopify, we were selling on a custom site and platform that we had built, including a handful of integrations with Cloudflare, Celery, and Google Analytics. It was incredibly cumbersome to manage and maintain, as our site was very image-rich (product photos, demonstrations, etc.) and trying to serve that content at scale led to a constant juggling act with Cloudflare to keep our image caches correctly updated when content changed. By the time we were all said and done, we were spending 3-4x a monthly subscription to Shopify to keep the site afloat. Fast forward to now - our site is highly available around the globe and has integrations with many major sales platforms (Apple Pay, Messenger, Facebook Pages, etc.) and support has become trivial - Shopify's administrative panel makes it super simple to get order and customer information quickly. Coupling these features with the iOS app, it's allowed me to get out from my office and engage the rest of our team without worrying that I might be missing something!

Pros: Shopify tracks EVERYTHING. It also handles every need from creating a customer or order, to finishing an order through to completion. No need for any other software just to manage or ship orders. It's customer service help chat box is above helpful and Shopify's committment to its users is phenomenal

Cons: that I didn't know about it 7 years ago when I first started my business. Shopify has simplified the managing and operating of my small business and enabled me to increase my audience base and shorten my order placement/shipping turn around time by almost half since I can do everything I need to for the customer all right within Shopify.

Pros: Shopify websites have a very clean and polished look. They have basic templates that are super nice. The website control panel has lots of features to get going in the world of Ecommerce.

We like that there is a huge community of developers and designers ready to help with any project. There are so many integrations and compatible products.

Customer support replied pretty fast to any questions that we had.

This is the most popular shopping cart platform in the world, so that comes with a piece of mind that they won't be shutting it down anytime soon,

Cons: Even though having a huge marketplace is a good thing. Most third party features cost a lot of money on a monthly basis. Unlike Magento, most Shopify third party developers want recurring monthly payments for basic features that Shopify should already have. For Example, if you want a better product search on the the website, it might cost you an extra per month. If you have 10 more add-ons like that, you can see how the price just sky-rockets.

Some of the Search features are too basic. People want an Amazon experience with filters and other options for browsing. Third party apps are too expensive to achieve this with Shopify.

Some of the way they handle URL's are annoying. Such as using the word "Collections". Very strange.

Cons: Bit expensive for start up but has everything in place

You cannot host your backend to other servers as AWS or any if you want - it is fixed and it is with shopify only.

there are lot on dependency in many things which you have to accept and pay for them

Comments: Good site, easy to use especially for a beginner. Lots of help available via customer service and online support. You must follow the step by step instructions and you will succeed! You can set up your site as simple as you like or advanced as you like...Many , many options.

Pros: So far I am still new to the software and wanted to leave a review because sometimes the first stages of using a new software can be crucial to long term or short term use. I have been provided step by step instructions on how to use the software and how to make sure I am following all of the steps of setting up an online store. Setting up an online store is new to me and I have been told that this software is one of the easiest to use which is true for me. I may come back and write another review after I have used it for a few months but as a beginner it has been pretty easy.

Cons: Since I am a beginner I do not have any cons as of yet. The only thing that really isn't a con but can seem overwhelming is that there are so many different options to how you want to set up your online store, which vendors to use and categories are endless. So it may take you a little longer than you like and it's not a bad thing to have more options than you want or need.

Pros: I was using square as my POS for a long time and it worked fine for years I had zero complaints
but something better came along shopify POS ... the reason i decided to switch over (again i had 0 issue w square i loved it) is because my website runs on shopify so its alot nicer to be able to ring customers up and tie it to my website i can then add them to my email list , aesthetically it looks nicer esp on the customers end, i can literally sell items from my website on the go!
love it! helps me track what i sell more of, which makes my job easier!
the fees are decent.

Cons: I did sign up for this when it first came out so I had to "wait" a few weeks before it got to me, which was not a big deal but really was the only con .
no complaints as of yet

Overall: got us more sales!~

Pros: With Shopify, you can quickly launch a store, even within a day. Moreover, tons of widgets and plugins can easily be added, you can easily change the theme and make edits. I love how flexible Shopify is for my clients. I can design a custom site and then develop it with no problem. Shopify even allows selling on multiple platforms, like Pinterest and Facebook. With Shopify, my work is easier and fully organized.

Cons: A mobile application can use several more functions, for now, it seems a little empty. Product categories and subcategories are time-consuming and non-standard to implement. Well, the most important is the price, for us as a big company it is not a lot, but for a beginner, it's quite a lot. I would advise developers to make different subscriptions for different companies.

Pros: I love shopify i currently, use it for 3 sites, its very user friendly if you dont know how to code/edit html. shoot even if you know nothing the apps on shopify can help you open a shop from scratch.
they have the best amount of themes/apps than their competitors. they have a "university" which is awesome for beginners and experts alike. The customer service has been great.
but when it boils down to it how EASY it is to work/learn how to use shopify is what sets it apart from its competitors, i cant even compare it to its competitors actually !

Cons: The only con is the price it is a bit higher than other sites, especially if you have multiple domains.
this is the only thing that has ever made me question changing services.

Overall: allows me to create /manage my brands

Pros: There's many features of Shopify's platform that I enjoy, including user, product, and order management. Having a basic blog is also fantastic. However, it's the power of it's template system that really makes Shopify shine. It's easy for web developers and designers really make Shopify their own visually.

Cons: The reliance on paid-for plugins with monthly payments. It's poison and will be the system's eventual downfall. The ability to print labels and manage shipped items- tracking numbers, service integrations (USPS/UPS/DHL/etc) is absolutely imperative and until Shopify integrates these basic features into the system, many developers and designers will still have a hard time taking Shopify as seriously as other solutions.

Recommendations to other buyers: Shopify is clearly easy to update and maintain. While I can build a website within a month, most of my time is used teaching a client to use the platform. Not for Shopify. Clients are quick to learn the basics and with the documentation, although a little outdated, most of their questions are throughly answered. This allows them to continue to use Shopify long after the developer is long gone.

Pros: Shopify online and Shopify Retail sync up well. Setting up an online store is easy and there are several themes available.

Cons: In the 3 months since we added the Retail Package, we have discovered a major bookkeeping problem for us. We have over 100 layaway orders. When a payment is made after the original order was created, there is no way for our regular staff to print a receipt with the date a new payment is made. This creates a big problem for our customers that want to see the date each payment is made. We have reached out to Shopify for adding a feature to register shift printouts that includes all transactions/payments that were made on that shift but the problem is that the payment is attached to a previously created order. This is a nightmare for our bookkeeping department. There is a printout of totals for the shift but we need itemized printouts as well. We are getting nowhere with support. Another feature requested is customized order exports. We would like to export information that we want, not all that is exported.

Recommendations to other buyers: My recommendation is that you find out exactly what is needed for your business and bookkeeping requirements. If Shopify can resolve this register shift printout problem for us, we are totally happy with it.

Pros: It provides an easy entry for the junior entrepreneur. The risk is minimized and your exposure to customers is tremendous. They provide a host of systems and templates to help you set up your store to match your particular niche. You get out what you put into it, however, so don't expect to populate a store and have instant success. This can help you expand your brick and mortar business if you have one.

Cons: Competing with others is not easy and there are quite a lot of customers already present and established. This is not for the impatient. There are other storefronts that offer options Shopify does not and that I personally think have better exposure and a more trusted name right now.

Overall: The ability to set up and scale up a business without committing to a lease for years.

Pros: The application makes it easy to start an e-commerce site even for people with less technical knowledge. A lot of templates and themes are available so you can effectively personalize your site. Offers a safe payment option along with integrations with Paypal. The application is integrated with fed- ex, UPS etc. They provide email marketing options and also enables promotion of your product to other platforms. Ensures a quick and responsive customer service. A cost-effective solution mainly for small businesses. Provides ample analytical tools. Allows social media integration.

Cons: An absence of multiple warehouse application. Inventory system lacks in many features. Multiple currencies not allowed. A/B testing feature is absent.

Pros: Shopify is built on their liquid proprietary framework. It's extremely powerful and allows for the ultimate customization while remaining efficient and replicable. The theme community is great and it has some of the best looking templates on the market.

Cons: The ability to migrate large numbers of products from other platforms proved difficult at times. There are 3P apps that leant a hand but it still isn't seamless.

Overall: It's feature-rich, robust, secure, and built on liquid which is completely customizable and intuitive to learn. It has helped grow many businesses that I've supported and provided an interface that was easy for my clients to learn.

Pros: Before Shopify I used several other platforms to sell products online. Yes I was earning but all of them had some insufficiencies. But after switcing to Shopify everything completely changed for me. Shopify is combination of all other platforms and it makes Shopify unique among other platforms. After Shopify my sales doubled and it provided a comprehensive statistics. After a short analyze I managed to understand in which area my store is suffering or which products are bestsellers. My most liked features are inventory and order management functions.

Cons: Overall I am satisfied with Shopify. But for new starters fees may be a little high. If you have less products to sell then you will face some costs before revenue.

Pros: It has beautiful and customizable templates (but they are not always free). Also, Shopify is easy to use and very expandable. Apps or plugins allow us to launch new initiatives in a timely and cost-effective manner. It's solving the business problem of having an easy e-commerce solution. I recommend to others all the time. The customer service with Shopify could quite possibly be the best part about working with them. Their tech support is so knowledgeable and quick to provide support. Easy going professionals.

Cons: I'd like to see more free templates. Shopify uses a different set up to customize their themes rather than using PHP for their templates. Overall there is great control of SEO, though they do unfortunately require pages and collections to be part of your URL string for those respective sections of your website, these words have pretty much no SEO value to any website.

Pros: With the Shopify platform you can have your online store up and running in just a few hours. The platform is easy to navigate and there is no coding experience needed to build your online store. There are lots of free templates to help get you started quick. There are also paid templates as well. Customer support is very basic, but is available 24/7.

Cons: My only complaints about Shopify is the inability to easily hide out of stock products and variations. You have to use round about methods to hide out of stock products, and it's impossible to hide out of stock variations.

Pros: I use this software as a retail outlet for my small business. Uploading photos and information is super easy, pricing and payments are fast and simple. I like that I can send discount codes, automatically stop and start them, to all customers, or just to one. The options are pretty much limitless.

Cons: I'm not a software coder by any means and sometimes the auto generated things do funky stuff. I was able to contact support and they have fixed all my issues, it can just be a little irritating when you think things should work as expected and they just don't.

Cons: I understand that some users have had contact! The software is great - no complaints.

Comments: The backend is easy to read, nothing is crowded together. Nice size font.

Pros: Ease of use, back end is easy to read, many templates to choose from to create your website. There is also a Theme Store to choose different themes to dress up your website. Over a 1000 plug ins to add to the website - shipping, marketing, sales tax etc. The customer support is 24/7.

Cons: Shoipify charges a transaction fee per sale unless you use Shopify Payments for the transactions. This is in addition to the monthly fee. Some of the apps have a monthly fee such as the sales tax app which will add up if you use several of the apps in your website. Shopify has their own coding language, they do not use HTML ' CSS if you want to make customizations.

Pros: Shopify is a leading online shop builder to grow your business and starting a new online shop, or bringing an offline store online. Amazing range of designs to choose from with user friendly interface to make your life easy and everything is available within few clicks.

Cons: Shopify charges the additional fee to a platform as a percent of sales which is really not fair and it might pinch you. Besides that, you might feel the need of few customized designs basis the product or service in offering. Email hosting is not the part of the service bouquet.

Pros: - Very user friendly back end for non technical teammates
- Great integration support that allows you to connect to virtually any known online service that runs your business

Cons: - Certain restrictions especially on the check out cart and process are a pain; you are not able to customize them much at all
- Developing in liquid (their native coding language) can be costly as it's not well known

Overall: This is the ultimate out-of-the-box tool for every startup. Very little needed to get your store up and running quickly while having the peace of mind that it will scale with you for quite a while.

Great customization, easy enough for someone who doesn't know coding to get started, yet robust enough for someone who does to customize.

Cons: Theme updates mess with all the customizations I made and require a few hours to set up. Gift card feature doesn't allow customers to send them to a gift recipient. Very minor issues that are continually being updated though!

Cons: With any type of platform there's bound to be drawbacks, one that I would consider fairly obvious would be that Shopify has no way to track the cost of goods. I'm sure that there are people that find ways around it but it seems like an obvious must-have.

Pros: The best part about Shopify is how comprehensive it is, between the product itself and the apps available on the Shopify appstore really no other ecomm products come even close. I've been able to build profitable stores within hours

Cons: While pricing looks good at a glance, after 3 years of using Shopify I've been starting to realize how deep they monetize. Shopify has margins on every component of their product, from payment processing to data to shipping labels. Not a huge fan of this kind of monetization built into paid services.

Pros: Very good customer service, and their staff happen to be pretty dedicated to their job. Shopify provides a way to sell stuff online without having to learn too many technicalities, therefore, it is ideal for beginners to start selling online. Everything is managed, from the servers to the security, to the technical nitty gritty. Your job is to sell.

Cons: Everything is relatively expensive at Shopify, and there are very few plugins or apps that can work without having to buy it, unlike other competing platforms. All the apps/plugins and the theme itself may add up to be a high monthly cost for many folks to bear. If you are making money, it's not too bad. But if you are not making money, then it's quite a heavy financial burden to carry around, and sooner or later, you will end up cancelling it.

Overall: I could setup an online store rather quickly with this software. Even plugins like Oberlo make things easier in this regard. The customer support was also very helpful and always on hand to help out with any issue. Security is not an issue at Shopify either; they made sure their servers were very hard to attack, and I've never heard of anyone's store getting hacked in all the time I was there. At the same time, being so costly, it prohibits many of joining them.

Pros: The user interface is easy to use, readily customizable, and robust. You get a website, website builder, hosting and e-commerce all in one. Pros: Overall, Shopify is user-friendly and allows for a very customizable experience. Using shopify, you don't have to worry about storage or security issues. Also, Shopify offers many applications/plug-ins that help shop owners customize and work through any specific needs they have.

Cons: Compared to other Ecommerce platforms, Shopify doesn't seem as intuitive. I imagine the platform would be harder to learn for a novice versus some other platform options on the market. Shopify does have some major flaws, for instance in their shipping customizations. For the last project I launched for a client on the platform, we had to install an applications (not free) to be able to meet our shipping customization needs. This would not have been an issue on other platforms I've used. Overall, you have to be careful when using Shopify, because installing the add-ons that you need can get expensive.

Pros: Shopify is the best application to create and design your own online shopping center. It's really easy to use and setup. No need to work with codes, everything is working automatically. All you have to do is choose a template and start selling. The best thing that I love is that you don't have to create databases about all address and other datas of people who bought something from your website. It saves automatically.

Cons: Up until now we didn't faced any problem about Shopify, it provides many multiple services. Trustworthy and securitive software. Highly recommended.

Overall: Thanks to Shopify team, we improved our marketing skills and abilities.

Pros: You can continue to add features that make the site work the way you want it to. It's very aesthetically pleasing and super user friendly. Easy to learn and customers and staff can navigate through the site with ease.

Cons: Every feature you want, you have to add on and pay for it. For a company with very few orders, it doesn't matter. But for a company on a Pro plan or with a large amount of orders, it gets very expensive very quickly. We are paying over twice what we paid with Volusion to get the same amount of features.

Overall: We use Shopify's Pro plan for all of our customer's online and over the phone orders. We have several apps added on to make it do what we want and plan to add others slowly. We also use the POS app at events to collect payment from clients. The POS app hasn't been very good to us - a lot of errors and glitches for the amount of volume we have.

The best ecommerce platform. Period. Don't even question it.

Pros: Shopify is the BEST ecommerce engine. Hands down. Tons of features. Millions (or a lot) of apps to help manage inventory, drive traffic, improve on conversions, jump start SEO.

Cons: Shopify is expensive and it lacks some essential features like cost attributions for products (apps will do it at a cost) and other small overlooked details. It's not cheap and if you don't qualify for their payment processing, you have to pay them a % of the sales, which is total BS but manageable.

Comments: Why do I like Shopify? Very simple, I believe that e-commerce is part of the EVERY businesses future. It doesnt matter if you offer a service or sell products, customers need access to what you offer online and preferably process their needs at the same time as well. Shopify is offering the opportunity for business owners with limited e-commerce skills to also be part of that movement. Myself I am a bit more advanced in this, but not a real developer. I was using Magento before but for every little change you needed to do you need to have developers in your team, and it can take quite long. Shopify solved all that for me!

Pros: - Perfect solution for any business to access the e-commerce space. - Nice dashboards providing all the information you need. - If you really want, you can set up a store within a day. - AMAZING 24/7 support. They changed my entire way on how I look to customer service.

Cons: - Their App store can use more apps, but hey it will never be enough. - Limited access to certain pages like the checkout pages. - Shopify Plus solves a lot of problems and gives you access to more pages, however is quite pricy. So it depends on how ambitious you are.

Pros: Well, so many things. Built on solid open standards Ruby-on-Rails web 2.0 web framework. This is the 'Apple' of e-commerce platforms regarding quality. Huge ecosystem of integrations in the Shopify App store and growing almost every day. Great selection of slick beautiful templates from graphic artists. Most beautiful templates I've ever seen in an ecommerce platform. Very easy to set-up and use.

Cons: I wish it had *direct* integration with other platforms such as Google Apps, HubSpot, Freshbooks, and Teamwork Projects for order fulfillment. These are available through numerous third-party add-ons, but direct integration would be better. Still, it has more indirect integrations than any other ecommerce platform.

Overall: This is the platform chosen for our new website, moving up from Yahoo! websites. Huge improvement. Shopify is state-of-the-art.

Pros: I used to build eCom sites for a living. I am now happy that I got out when I did because these guys would put me out of business. First the price is perfect. Second, the amount of time it took to setup was days and that was more of us getting our content together. Finally, the integration with our inventory system really helped.

Cons: Playing around with the skins/styles, is difficult. Its like a javascript but not really. Takes some getting used to.

Pros: 1. Amazing platform to set any merchant quickly their online presence and start selling their product without having any knowledge of website building and technical stuffs.
2. Easy to maintain interface.
3. Fast access and quick addition of product and their removal, product tracking and maintaining orders.

Cons: It is just free for 14 days unlike other platform that gives a free trial for 30 days. This trial period is not about the money it is about gaining the know how of any new product and its time to make mind whether to buy the particular subscription or not, So Shopify should increase this time period.
Rest paid feature is good.

Overall: I can sell my product instantly and no need to become seller on some other website like Amazon and flipkart and rely on their services.
It gives control so I like it.

Pros: Ease of use even for those with very little tech know-how . I've let some of my team members work on Shopify projects and they found it easy to use. It offers quality templates for FREE but don't feel cheap. With different integrations for drop shipping, it is easy to add and keep track of products to your store without the need for using up space in your PC to save descriptions and images. Support is quite good and you can have help in the Shopify forums. There's enough time to try it out with its free trial period of 2 weeks. There's no annual lock-in which is good for those who aren't sure yet.

Cons: There's really nothing much one could ask for for the quality features and the price. One should however be mindful of the trial period because if you wish to finalize your subscription after the end of the trial, you may have to start over because. So it's best to contact support and request for an extension if you're not done testing yet.

Pros: I love the excellent customer support Shopify offers. When I have a question or run into a problem I can call or email Shopify support and they will help me resolve the issue very quickly. Shopify offers an amazing service for such a low price! I am able to make 5 figures a month and pay less than $100 a month to run my stores with their service. I love how I can customize my website exactly how I want. I really enjoy the easy install apps Shopify offers in it's app store.

Cons: A hold on my revenue for possible chargebacks is my main complaint with Shopify. The service has held 20% of all of my sales "just in case" of chargebacks even I have had no chargebacks since I started with the service. That money would really help my cashflow.

Overall: A 5 figure store!

Pros: When we first looked into Shopify years ago, its transaction fees and lack of features made it hard to recommend to anyone but those who didn't have a budget for a proper ecommerce website. Today Shopify can do so much with such little effort that it almost seems silly to recommend something else. Shopify has made it so that anyone can start an ecommerce business without having to first invest tens of thousands of dollars, while at the same time providing a very powerful tool that has everything larger businesses need.

Cons: We haven't built enough on the platform yet to realize any annoyances, but we plan on moving more sites to it shortly. So at the moment while I am sure there are things that we won't like, the platform is good enough that we are migrating some existing stores to it.

Pros: Shopify makes setting up an online store as easy as it can possibly get, while still allowing for more advanced users to customize as much as they want. Also, they offer some of the best customer care I've ever experienced at no additional charge - highly recommend!

Cons: The only con I've identified with Shopify is the delivery system for discount codes, however, I believe a fix for this has recently rolled out, but haven't had a chance to work with it yet.

Pros: Shopify is a really clean solution for an ecommerce store front. The liquid scripting, in particular, makes it easy to customise your store and make it do just about anything you want... and for advanced scenarios, you can build Shopify Apps using their API.

Cons: Shopify is clearly targeting the low end price wise and it doesn't come with all the inventory management features of a full blown ERP system... although it can be synced with a more sophisticated back end using Apps from the Shopify app store. Also, if you want multi-currency, you either get "display only" (best estimate conversion rates for display purpose, but not used for actual transactions) or you have to run multiple stores...

Recommendations to other buyers: Of all the SaaS eCommerce platforms out there, Shopify and BigComerce are probably the leaders. However I prefer the Shopify solution to mobile support, which is Html5/Responsive shop templates (i.e. design/develop/test once).

Pros: The absolute best thing about Shopify is the ability to customize to your specific needs no matter how big or small your ecommerce site it. This can be aesthetically or technical. It is incredibly helpful to have so many features available to use, and the only guides and tutorials (and user forums) make it easy enough for even a small shop to get up and running quickly. I would recommend Shopify to any one looking for a website to sell anything online.

Cons: At times customer support can be lacking, but the lack of customer support is made up for with the user forums and online guides and help.

Pros: I like that Shopify POS is integrated with our Shopify website. If we sell something in store, it deducts it from our inventory online, which is very convenient. I don't have to worry about inventory being off.

Cons: The thing I like the least about Shopify POS is that when I issue store credit to a customer, there is no way in the system to know who the store credit was issued to in the future. In other words, you have to keep track of it yourself.

Pros: For the creation of an online store, you can use shopify, just use one of its pre-built themes and go ahead. Do you want to send emails, shopify has an app for that, abandoned cart? shopify has an app, everything works correctly.

Cons: Depending on the product you sell, it will be the commission, with some client we tried to sell beauty products and WOW the commission went up, and they held our money some days, my client was not happy with this, he claimed that I should have warned him, but that was out of my reach I never knew, in the end everyone was happy, but my client insisted on changing platform.

Pros: Listen one of the best eccomerce platforms ever all others are so complicated and you cannot understand what is going on. But Shopify simple and ready to work for you .I have opened up 3 stores with no problem drop and drag or just add the products little design if you know how to do it and your good to go. I recommend Shopify to anyone who wants to build a store right away.

Cons: Some of the apps are costly and you really have to be careful choosing the right apps for your shop .

Overall: Creating my own shops was the best experience ever easy to use and great templates and the pricing monthly is not bad for beginners

Pros: When we looked for an eCommerce solution we chose Shopify. Reason: efficient, feature set, customization, reliability. The last being our most important criteria. Shopify delivers on all.

Cons: Design is somewhat a challenge as not all templates in the store cover design needs before going full custom. Also, some 3rd party integration seem to be harder to achieve than others and some, quiet frankly speaking, should be part of Shopify.

Pros: I love Shopify! With my small business it has been making it easy for me to track my inventory and keep close contact with my customers. The functions and applications makes it so easy- what is even easier is the mobile app. Super convenient and I can take my business anywhere! I rarely need to ask for their support, but when I had a question for something I thought wasn't possible their customer service is on point! Always willing to go the extra mile to further leave a great impression. Superb job Shopify!

Pros: Shopify is easy to use and offers a wide range of app abilities. Given their high user base, technical issues are rare and usually resolved quickly.

Cons: I would like if there were easier filtering options when looking to review orders by a special parameter. The ability to add a custom refund or cancellation reason on an individual order would be great as well.

Overall: Shopify is an all-encompassing tool for e-commerce that offers vast customization options.

Pros: An all in one ecommerce solution that really works. My client spent on developers in Asia and it was a bust. It will help both small and larger businesses be competitive and have a working website from the get-go. It has everything you need for an end-to-end solution. Best of all you'll get your foot in the door with Amazon and Etsy to name a few. There are also several payment options so you can start small and work your way up. You won't have to pay the big price until you are at that level of traffic. There's also built-in speed and security with Shopify - -and we all know that if you are using credit cards you really need security. Finally, amazing support!

Cons: So the price can be a bit tricky because we all want to start with the a month plan, but really the place to start is per month. Not too bad but still...Then there is a platform transaction fee, credit card fees, and add-on fees. None of which is that bad or truly unexpected if you have done even a bit of research. There's also a bit of jargon to learn, also not too bad.

Pros: Customizing your online store is a lot of fun! You can make it look however you want and you can change it as often as you need. Control over pricing, shipping, products etc is a big bonus. Also, the apps that you can add make the website a lot more interesting to use.

Cons: Adding new products is not the simplest process, especially products with various color options. No real cons, though. Just needs some training.

Pros: The pricing model for this is amazing. You can't beat the price for a beginner level platform. It has all of the features and functionality that you need in order to get your eCommerice business up and running.
