### "We love Myrec.com!!"

Myrec.com took us from paper registrations to online registrations back in the summer of 2019. We love how easy the software is and how supportive the staff is on the helpline. We are happy with myrec.com!

Pros

Myrec.com is extremely easy to set up registrations and the ability to export rosters for staff/coaches is a great feature.

Cons

Email blasts are not reaching parents and are always going to their spam folders. This has caused problems in the winter months as inclement weather requires us to cancel sports, and not all parents receive the news.

A wonderful journey since 2012. Watching this software grow has been incredible. I remember watching Ray play his guitar for us at the MRPA conference and now myRec is a nationwide leader in rec software. Fantastic!

Pros

MyRec is designed and maintained by recreation professionals, for recreation professionals. Customer service is able to talk you through any/every issue and guide you to solutions in a very short period of time. MyRec understands that rec departments have unique needs because they have been there. Thank you for understanding what it takes to run successful programs, manage facilities, and engage communities.

Cons

Inactive vs. Active email addresses and not being able to pinpoint why/what we can do to prevent this from happening.

The customer service at my rec is great. Whenever I have a problem I can't figure out on my own, they are just a call away.

Pros

My rec is user-friendly and great for a parks and recreation professional. I like all the reports, which make my job as a program coordinator easier.

Cons

I wish I could pick up more than one activity at a time, rather than having to go back in and select one at a time.

Words I would use to describe our first full year for programs and activities: User friendly for both management and participants of our programs and smooth sailing all around! Deployment is scary. Setup brings me back to the old saying: You don't know what you don't know!

Pros

The customer service is responsive and plentiful.

Cons

I'm always frustrated when I use my back arrow to go backwards and it doesn't allow it. I haven't recorded/ written down which ones but several times a week I a talk to myself about not having a handle on the back arrow!

Overall the experience has been very positive. Other than the one con I had, it has been nothing short of great.

Pros

I love how user friendly the software is. I feel like for both residents and staff, MyRec allows everyone simple and informative access to all aspects of the website.

Cons

From an administrative perspective, I do not like how when searching for past programs by selecting a date and reviewing the information, when you are finished, it takes you back to the current day. Too many times I found myself searching for multiple programs that occurred in the past, and having to manually put in the date one-by-one each time became quite the inconvenience.

### "Better presentation of Days of the week and improved mobile expierence "

It helps us translate our marketing matierals into sales via QR codes, but we would like to see the mobile cell version be easier for people to create an account. Developing a mobile app would also be a great solution to this issue. We have received a lot of feedback about the mobile version being difficult to use for creating an account and making payments so we normally encourage people to use the mobile version as a way to view programs and that they create their account and sign up for activities using a laptop or computer. Although I like the general structure of the web pages and appreciate that other nearby recreation departments use this software—which helps with user familiarity—we would prefer a design that offers more editing flexibility, similar to a GoDaddy website.

Pros

Easy to create and update program descriptions.

Cons

The way the days are shown in the activity column. Ex) MTuWThuF We think it would be a lot better if you stacked them vertically like below or Mon, Tues, Wed and then if it was 5-7 days a week just Mon-Fri or Tues-Sat Mon Tues Wed Thurs Fri

The customer service! We really appreciate the fast and professional service that you provide.

Cons

If I have to put something down for this, I will say that I wish there was a sub total for the top section of the income summary report. This would make it easier to confirm that the total matches the disbursement summary report.

I would give it a 9/10. There could be some improvements made in the cart and with UniPay compatibility. I do think that duplicating programs could also use some improvement, but overall, the site is user friendly.

Pros

The ease of use, especially for registering people for programs. It is also very easy to generate reports for financial and participation records.

Cons

Users tend to have issues with UniPay. UniPay's compatibility with MyRec could be better. Also, the ability to have diversified pricing for rental facilities would be a nice addition.

### "Good company with solid customer service"

Good. Not perfect for a non-traditional entity like us. MyRec is open to suggestions for improvement, which is great. And we are generally able to work around things if they can't grant our requests for edits, etc. Cost is quite affordable. \*One of the questions on this survey asks for what purpose we use the site. I chose "registration" but it's really more like "other". We use MyRec for products and events.

Pros

Support is easily available. Everyone we've delt with is friendly and helpful.

Cons

1) MyRec is designed for Park And Rec depts., which is fine, but it would be great if it was more user friendly for non-traditional clients like us. 2) MyRec can be a little clunky. This includes the language that they use. For example, when referring to a product, “pick-up instructions” would be a much better term than “acquisition instructions”.

My overall experience with MyRec.com is just awesome. I am a one-woman-operation and this system allows me to do what I do each day. If I need help, I dial the phone and get immediate assistance and a pleasant interaction.

Pros

I like the ease of registration for recreation programs...soccer, basketball, piano, art-literature, lacrosse, dog obedience, etc. Events - July 4th, parade registration, concert in park...it's all right there to see. Need an email blast to everyone - send it out. Cancelling a class and need to update the cost? Easy-peasy. If I need help, I call and get 100 percent knowledgeable, pleasant, step-by-step help and feel good about learning something new.

Cons

Must confess, I can't get the photos from my phone set up correctly (and quickly) when adding a new program, but I simply call and get awesome support and usually a pleasant or inciteful conversation that propels me.

The customer service is exceptional. Any time I call, the staff are polite, patient and kind. I came from another town where they had already been using MyRec and when I started last year in Brookfield, we switched to MyRec from another platform and our department is so happy with all of the options MyRec provides. It makes our lives easier!

Pros

I love how easy it is to monitor program registrations.

Cons

Users always have trouble recovering their password. We get complaints that the website is "too confusing" and not user friendly.

Pros

I appreciate that MyRec is a comprehensive service and software that adapts to our Rec Department's needs. We can offer daily, weekly, and one-off programming, field reservations, scholarships, and more. The software does take some getting used to, but ultimate has met all of our needs.

Cons

There are parts of MyRec that are not user friendly. I have found that when I am creating a new program, or complex program, I should call the customer service line or request an appointment with MyRec staff. The staff are extremely helpful and share details that are not always in the how-to videos.

I love MyRec. It is very easy once you get the hang of it. It is very easy to find help from Customer Service when you do get stuck or confused.

Pros

I love how helpful the Costumer Service Reps are when we get stuck or have general questions. Many times they have helped me untangle puzzles I thought were not solvable! They always have a pleasant voice and are very patient.

Cons

Just the few things I mentioned in my review. The biggest one being that I would love for their to be a report for member birthdays.

When we first started MyRec I was very nervous but \[sensitive content hidden\] and \[sensitive content hidden\] were there for me all of the way. Back then we had a camp with multiple camp selections. They painstakingly worked with me to customize the camp as follows:Tuesday/Thursday regular and extended hoursMonday/Wednesday/Friday regular and extended hoursMonday through Friday regular and extended hours MyRec's customer service has always been there for me and helped me with some "issues" that I could not figure out. Most of these issues were my fault and they kindly and professionally straightened them out.

Pros

Inputting facility and pavilion rentals is so easy and efficient. You cannot overbook with MyRec the definite "watch dog".

Cons

Well, it is time consuming scanning the membership id's but I don't believe there can be an alternative method since each family member needs their own id tag.

Pros

MyRec is very easy to use for programs such as Basketball, Tennis, Soccer, Yoga, etc. I would recommend MyRec for these types of classes. Customer services is outstanding.

Cons

MyRec is not user friendly for the Kids Club/Camp programs. This is my primary area and I would not highly recommend MyRec for this part of the program.

Over the years MyRec has evolved from a bare bones inexpensive software package to what I consider to be one of the most user friendly options (on both the management and public sides) on the market and by far the best value for your money.

Pros

1\. The MyRec customer service is second to none! There are no endless chat bots to "talk" too; just simply pick up the phone and talk to a real person in the United States. The internal Help Desk can also answers many of the questions quickly.2. Customer feedback is always welcomed and they are very proactive in implementing suggestions which=h has allowed them to keep up with the industry and outpace competitors. 3. They are a small business focused on one thing: being the best Parks & Rec software in the industry. I feel that over the years they have achieved this.

Cons

1\. They do not have all the bells and whistles as the software from larger companies. Each year they implement more options and are quickly catching up. 2. For a small to mid size/large department they are perfect. Metropolitan/County sized departments may find limitations.

There are a lot of issues with the in house operations; my Program Coordinators prefer RecDesk's software, but the customer service, desire to do better, and flexibility that we get from MyRec are far superior to them. Like I said before it is a glitchy program and is not consistant, but ultimately it does what we need it to do and MyRec does put a lot of effort into making the software better all of the time.

Pros

The community site is easily search able for patrons. The company's openness to development in suggested areas. It does feel like MyRec is trying to consistently improve its operations for the better. The base functions of creating households, registering for programs, and point of sales operations are very easy to learn and use. Cloning of programs and activities is easy and extremely useful and efficient. Dashboard information is great! It would be out of this world if it was customizable. Customer Service and tech help is quick and often knowledgeable to fix issues in one call.

Cons

Overall there is no consistency with options and filters. For example some reports you can get an excel export and some you can't, this is the same for programs (advanced verse standard) and all other modules. The software is very glitchy. The site can shut down with no warning and we have to call in to make sure it is taken care of. We also deal with some odd one off issues that can't be explained, but we usually find some sort of solution. It keeps us on our toes, but wish we could depend on the software more. Things change so fast that it is hard to keep up sometimes. Offer quarterly training would be amazing! Streamline integration with other software. I mentioned earlier the issues with Constant Contact, it would be great if there was an easy integration with financial software like MUNIS. I believe it is possible, but we have not tackled that project yet.

We left RecTrac because the 3.1 upgrade was going to be forced and the price increase was not something we could afford. At that time we switched to RecDesk because it met our needs for ease of use in house and for our patrons, ultimately help was almost impossible from them and the excuse we received from the president was that more departments had joined and they had no intention of increasing their work force so the response time was drastically effected with no intention of changing it. We changed to MyRec because we were promised that we would be able to transport all of our data from RecDesk over to MyRec. It was attempted but did not work at all. We are extremely please with the customer service and the company's constant evolution of the software.

### "MyRec is perfect for what we need"

Before MyRec, I was a one person recreation department that used paper forms for registrations and triplicate forms for rentals. We had a paper calendar and a HUGE binder for each of our rental facilities. I needed a cart to transport them. People would call in to the office multiple times for one rental. With MyRec, they can answer most of their questions online. The amount of phone calls has dropped which frees up time for other planning/programming. Getting MyRec was like adding a staff position.

Pros

MyRec offered the features that we needed. The system is easy to use and update. MyRec's staff is always available to help when we get stuck - but they also have a great help section with videos and step by step instructions.

Cons

Some of our residents have a bit of a learning curve with getting their account set up. Once they figure it out, then there seems to be less calls to us for help.

I appreciate all the help I have received from customer service. They are amazing!

Pros

There is only one thing I like about myrec, which is the customer support. The customer support is amazing, they are always there to answer and help with problems. I call all the time and have become very friendly with the staff. They always answer the phone and always help me fix whatever problem I'm having.

Cons

I do not like myrec. I keep a little book in my desk called the " I hate MyRec book" and I write down all of the stupid problems I have. Things that should be simple are not. Looking up a name, you can't put in the name , Chin, b/c the Chins will not come up, it starts with A's. Or, I know someone is in the system, put in the name, spelled correctly but it still does not show up. The system insists I put in information I do not have, so I have to make it up, like birthdays, addresses, emails. Why can't I leave it blank. I hate that it always forces me to confirm this stuff but at the same time it won't stop people from making duplicates, which I can't delete of ever merge together, b/c its not simple. In our old system, you would pick a group and click send email, now I have to click nine times to do the same thing! Nine times! The same thing with labels, in the old system, find the group hit labels, this system, you have to dig for it. When looking up information I see a lot I don't need and nothing I want is on the same page. How about the persons name, address, phone, etc. on one page, ( the address is on a different page) with.. the activities they are in and the credits/ balances they owe? While I think the support is amazing, I hate that I have to call constantly for the smallest stuff. I do not defend this company to the public at all. I constantly get negative feedback from the public and I have to turn into the IT person to fix it.

Overall we've had a great experience with MyRec and their associates. Very attentive to their clients needs and willing to go the extra mile.

Pros

MyRec is a user friendly and adaptable recreational software that contains modules which meet the needs of our daily operations as a parks and recreation agency. The functionality and concepts of utilizing the software are easy to understand and orient new employees on especially, with the videos and pdf instructions underneath the Help Files. All of the software support employees were present and offered assistance to any software issues and if there unavailable, would respond back quickly via telephone or email. All of employees would walk you through an issues or problems and either had a solution or, would seek additional information from their team/co-workers. Steadily provide updates and new revisions made within the software on a monthly basis through there web-based newsletter. Automatically archives programs, activities, events and rentals that have occurred on the specific date, time and location. Can retrieve and easily clone previous programs and activities.

Cons

Employees within different tiers (managerial or recreation leader) had either too much or not enough access to features on MyRec. Having to manually block an account that currently holds a balance which still allows the account holder to register for future programs, activities and events. Account holders can create more than one account in the system by placing their name underneath another account (family member or friend) instead of the system automatically linking the account holder to their former or current account. At times we've had issues with adjustment on accounts more specifically when it comes to members receiving pro-rated or full refunds for their purchases. Members not receiving any notification emails after resetting the password to their account.

from start to finish line the service was outstanding. I felt like MyRec listened to our needs on what we wanted, and they delivered. very friendly and great prices.

Pros

I love the ease of use; customer service is very helpful and knowledgeable.

Cons

when running a distribution summary report, it would be nice to click on the blue highlighted total to find out for example what day a reservation was made so that either an invoice number could be shown, a name or at least a date shown when that takes place. we don't run daily totals, we run biweekly or monthly.

dollar value and to be honest, they took the time to explain things and helped us. i felt like a number when working with Rec desk. They actually were mad when they called back to ask why we didnt choose them. i said that their tone right there when we talked was the reason why. very nervy to act like that

Active Net was NOT user friendly, and it seemed as though they were leaving the recreation part of their training. they charged additional fees and were not helpful to say the least

Great people to work with both from the sales side and the customer service side. The software really takes into consideration how a recreational professional would need to use it, not just a generic use. We are very happy we made the swtich!

Pros

It is a very straight-forward software to use on the admin side and user side. It is affordable and they are always taking our feedback on ways to improve features.

Cons

We switched from ActiveNet and found there were some features that MyRec did not have that we liked previously. We have been with them for over 2 years and have been able to talk through how to add features or improve features when possible.

Pros

This program has been easy for staff to learn to navigate and is user-friendly for customers.

Cons

We would like to see tournament bracket features for sports and event ticketing system that is easy to use.

So happy the software is easy for staff and community to use- that is what we strive for. Thank you for the feature idea regarding brackets. Our exploration into this area in the past has revealed just how complex it is (different sports have different bracketing options, teams could be across activities or external, etc.). Because of this, it doesn't fit within our current software iteration, but it may be considered in the next full version. On event ticketing, please give us a call to go over your ideas what you'd like to see there in more detail.
