Graduate Student Intern Higher Education Used the software for: 1-2 years ### "Hazard Assessment Module on e-Compliance" November 20, 2018 5.0 I am working a Lab Safety Coordinator, at the University of Alberta, where one of my prime responsibilities is to create a database of HAs of all the labs of the department, and this software has really made the work easy Pros This software interface combines several aspects of conducting a formal hazard assessment creating an ease of usability and provides a very good platform to combine those Cons Sometimes, it is difficult to maintain a database of self-defined hazards, and controls, which makes it time-consuming to add those individually to other HAs, if being conducted. Pros their sales staff was supportive and understanding. they were very good sales technique. Cons There are a ton of basic features I'm so disappointed it didn't have. The tables that give you a list of incidents doesn't show employee name and you can't add it --its not customizable. Employee profile is not customizable for which fields it shows and it doesn't have capability to add. Employee profile that had address and other info osha 301 form needs and workers comp claims have no way to include. OSHA forms were not able to be generated. Pros EcoOnline eCompliance is super easy to use and navigate Cons Every time I scroll down on the inspection page and go to type in mileage it auto scrolls back up to the top of the page and it repeats this twice for some reason? I would recommend other companies to use this program Pros It's very easy to navigate through on both the computer and on the phone app. Stats are easy to extract from the software. the program is tailored to what we need. Cons At first when entering info on the phone app, the program was jumpy, but then I realized, as soon as I opened the program it would sync and once the sync was completed, no issues at all. Ease of changing forms is useful. Pros Like best the ease with which simplistic short forms can be filled out by field personnel, to the result of over 20,000 in less than a year. Cons Adding one word to a field name (from "Project/Customer" "Project/Customer Mandatory) CREATED AN ENTIRELY NEW FIELD and skewed every aspect of our SYSTEM prompting hundreds of calls regarding bad information that once opened, was fine, but were told that this is how the software is to function. Watching our forms be revised, revised and then revised again to suit users. All of our forms had to be re-worded to accommodate this software not having logic already, which I believe is being changed now. Personnel can be duplicated with first and last name matching exactly with no warning whatsoever, which has turned out to be alarming. Reporting is only 20% to fulfilling our needs 12 months in. Scoring on forms is not straightforward, but is helpful and will be better utilized going forward. We have various 3 delegations and multiple sites within our company; this software has enabled us to limit user access to specific sites/delegations while at the same time allowing our admins/directors to access all site inspections. Pros I like being able to perform Safety Inspections with this software on the mobile phone and I love the offline feature where we can do inspections with low connectivity status. Cons The only issue that we have had with this software is that we are unable to use our own established scoring system (we use a 4.0 average scale). There are some many great features with this product but the ability to customize to fit your companies EHS system is fantastic. The two click feature is great especially for management if they are looking for information it is available in two clicks. Cons Expensive and definitely meant for larger companies looking for multiple modules. Not for small companies only looking for one or two modules. Cost is charged on a per user at a time basis which sounds great in theory. However, if all users input their data at the same time your user number shoots up. We had a problem with operation employees making their updates at the end of their shift and what could have been a 10 user account then became 50 users at one time. Airsweb is considering how to address the smaller company economic limitations of 5K or less a year. We know that our user pricing is very competitive and in addition we only charge based on the average concurrent users, and spikes are ignored. If the average concurrent user count over a reasonable time frame increases, then we have a discussion on price adjustment. We also believe that our value based on the latest technologies, is extremely attractive and a reason for our recent growth momentum. BH Bruce H. Cons The reporting module is restricted to Administrative staff and audit scoring features are limited. Also features in some Smartforms modules are not available in other modules. But i’m sure as the software develops these areas will too.
