### "Canvas - a great, everything-included LMS"

August 20, 2025

5.0

Canvas was a lot of work to implement but we have had a wonderful experience with archiving old courses and implementing new ones. It was worth the effort to get up and running and users enjoy the experience.

Pros

Canvas is an easy to manage LMS that has a course layout for students that is easy to navigate. Students can easily navigate between modules, see due dates and review assignments. Canvas syncs with our SIS, PowerSchool, with few bugs and customer support is easy to work with on issues.

Cons

When setting up grade pass back to automatically sync canvas to our LMS there are many steps teachers need to take and i wish it were easier to push this out on a global level.

### "Canvas is Amazing!"

November 7, 2025

5.0

My overall experience with Canvas has been amazing! I truly don't have any complaints for Canvas. The system automatically grades assignments (unless the instructor changes the settings for manual grading). All my messages to my instructors get sent and I never had an email be sent back through Canvas.

Pros

The main aspect I enjoy about Canvas is the ease of understanding the system. It took me an average of thirty-minutes to understand the layout of the system. I enjoy that I can email my instructors from the software instead of opening another tab for the email website. Plus, each course has its own link so the classes are nicely organized.

Cons

I can't think of a single aspect that I don't like about Canvas. My institution used a different platform (forgot the name) but it is MUCH easier to navigate Canvas. The other platform that was used in the past, had too many updates which would lock people out of the system.

### "Good student course management "

April 3, 2026

4.0

Pros

Our school uses canvas and as a staff member I enjoy it for how easy it is to manage multiple student courses at once all in one place. It’s easy to create a shell and customize it for each class. The customer service in helping our teachers and parents is very communicative and helpful.

Cons

The grading system is tricky as there are so many options to choose from on how to grade which is confusing for parents. There are symbols, the ones for missing and/or currently being graded, that confuse parents on their meaning.

### "Centralized Platform For Tracking Everything"

October 21, 2025

3.0

It has been smooth overall. It can be challenging to create assignments and groups but since it is all on one platform, that makes keeping track of everything easy enough.

Pros

I like how the platform tries to centralize everything and keep it grouped by course. It is easy to look through grades, assignments, and students by class. There is also a messaging system internally, which can be useful.

Cons

This site can be clunky, especially for larger classes. There are times that I have to reload the page because it won't load. Also, it can be hard to create new assignments since you have to code everything precisely.

### "Great comprehensive platform for educators"

January 11, 2026

5.0

Overall its a great resource to connect students and educators. For the price point, features and automation it's very useful and easy to navigate amount all students. It robust features include direct messaging, integrations of countless platforms and course creation.

Pros

The clean and modern dashboard makes it very easy for both student and instructors, it allows instructors to also view a students point-of-view. The app is also very easy and has almost all the features. Canvas also allows to you to connect third-party tools like Zoom, Google Drive, and other LTI plugins. Built in functions like turn-it in and auto graders reduces time spent on cross checking or auto grading. It also has many extensions to help with customization.

Cons

I think the notification overload is a little annoying and it has to be configured correctly, you can receive both app notifications and email. Sometimes there are bugs and it states "Canvas is experiencing issues" and it's down so that can be annoying.

### "Canvas Works Like Magic!"

December 12, 2025

5.0

Canvas is an excellent Learning management system, user-friendly and Use it heavily in designing courses and integrating different learning tools. Our faculty like it very much.

Pros

Canvas is a learning management system that is user-friendly with a graphic interface easy to navigate. It can seamlessly integrate different types of learning and has multiple templates that help new users to design assignments, quizzes, and discussion questions.

Cons

The Canvas gradebook tool can be a bit complex and intimidating for new instructors. The HTML feature of Canvas is not robust enough for the designer who wants tobe more creative.

### "Canvas is Better than Blackboard "

June 27, 2025

5.0

I’ve been using Canvas for about 5 years, both as a teacher and as an Executive Director of a non-profit. Even though it’s obviously specifically for schools, it really has great features you can use for all kinds of projects.

Pros

It’s incredibly user-friendly and their support service is great. You can do everything from quizzes to links to full lesson plans on Canvas, and there are a ton of add-ons to make lessons more engaging and easy to use.

Cons

I seriously have nothing bad to say about Canvas. It integrates with seemingly everything and I use it for everything from classes to clubs.

### "Great for online learning!"

March 13, 2026

5.0

Great! It is easy to use, and it is very helpful for keeping track of assignments, watching online video lectures, and downloading resources.

Pros

I love Canvas! I've used it in college and in graduate school. Everything is organized and easy to access. It makes tracking assignments and grades across multiple classes easy and organized.

Cons

The commenting and discussion boards are good, but they could be more collaborative. I've had some uploading issues with them before which is frustrating.

### "Canvas: The Premier LMS for Exceptional Support"

April 4, 2025

5.0

Overall, we have found Canvas to be the premier LMS. Our students seamlessly transition from high school into the higher ed space having had Canvas experience. We are very happy with the customer support that we receive.

Pros

We have been using Canvas at our K-12 district for more than a decade. We have grown with the company as it has expanded into the K-12 market space and love that we have been able to reap the benefits of being an early adopter.

Cons

Right now I would say that we are struggling the most with the conversion from the classic assessment "Quizzes" to the New Quiz online assessment feature.

### "Canvas: A User-Friendly and Powerful Tool for all Education"

November 23, 2024

4.0

Canvas is a strong learning system that meets the needs of all education. Although it could improve in performance and onboarding, its great features and easy accessibility make it a top choice for both teachers and students.

Pros

Canvas is simple and easy to use for both teachers and students, making it a great choice for managing online courses.

Cons

The free version doesn’t have some of the advanced features included in the paid plans.

Switched from

[Adobe Creative Cloud](https://www.capterra.com/p/48969/Adobe-Creative-Cloud/)

I switched from Adobe to Canva because Canva is simpler, quicker, and more user-friendly. It’s great for creating designs without needing advanced skills or a steep learning curve. Canva offers lots of templates, and you can easily drag and drop elements to create professional-looking graphics. While Adobe has more powerful tools, Canva is perfect for everyday design tasks like social media posts, presentations, and flyers, and it’s more accessible for people who don’t need all the complex features of Adobe.

### "Canvas vs BlackBoard"

March 3, 2025

4.0

I have worked with both Canvas and BlackBoard. They are very similar as far as set up, but canvas seems more difficult for me to navigate. However, the notification and app system is much more efficient than BlackBoard.

Pros

The app availability and notifications for assignments is very helpful. I like how the app sends a notification to my phone when a new assignment has been posted or a grade is put up. Also, the calendar keeps a to do list in chronological order, which is helpful.

Cons

Canvas is a bit confusing to navigate. The tabs are not very helpful for finding information.

### "Canvas is a Great Option for LMS"

September 9, 2025

Pros

Canvas is used in my company as the central repository for learning and course management to streamline in-house create courses and blend learning in real-time.

Cons

Canvas is limited to customize unlike alternatives that I have tried - this isn’t a big issue though since I don’t use it regularly.

### "I am surprised by how well this is going"

January 13, 2026

5.0

My website search visibility is now finally up. So I am happy we are no longer invisible on the web. I do not want to have to go into the nitty gritty details of marketing since I do not know anything about marketing. They actually answer the phone when I call which is more than I can say for our last agency.

Pros

I am writing this as my laptop is literally burning my legs and the fan sounds like it is going to scream itself hoarse, so I am writing this quickly. \[sensitive content hidden\] were able to somehow get the SEO stuff going, I am relieved I do not have to tell them about my business ten thousand times. The reports are showing up in my email and I do not have to worry about them which is perfect for me.

Cons

The development work (coding) took forever and moved much slower then I would have liked. That chocolate chip cookie they sent for holiday was a 6/10 at best and extremely dry compared to the other cookies. Communicating with the offshore people was a challenge due to all the different time zones.

Pros

It does the job. You're able to click between courses and see a calendar and due dates for everything.

Cons

Feels a bit old-fashioned and clonky at times. I know it's pretty industry-standard for universities, but I think it's a bit unintuitive and not really visually appealing.

After learning and accepting the downfalls within the platform, I was able to use the platform to the best of my ability to educate myself and graduate from the program I was enrolled.

Pros

Cons

The search feature within Canvas did not provide effective results. I also found there to be work around a that seemed unnecessary.

### "CANVAS is the missing key in education management."

February 25, 2025

5.0

I am fully satisfied by it's doings. A fruitful and easy experience with CANVAS.

Pros

CANVAS has advanced learning management features which makes it more effective compared to its competitors. With CANVAS we are able to keep track of assignments very easy to use and very helpful. It's deliberately helpful I can fully guarantee that. I have never missed any assignments and all thanks to CANVAS.

Cons

We can all agree that CANVAS does it's job perfectly. No cons.

### "Canvas- The best software for students and educators"

April 26, 2025

5.0

Pros

The best part is that everything about classes- assignments, projects, their deadlines, syllabus, all courses- everything is in one place. The second best thing is that canvas calendar can be easily linked to Google calendar which helps with assignment due dates.

Cons

One thing which I did not like is that even though there are a lot of great resources on Canvas, but since their uses is not easily explained and they are not easily discoverable, a lot of them go unused by students.

### "Canvas: Course Manager"

January 19, 2026

4.0

I would give Canvas a solid 8/10. Its authentic, safe and purposeful. It was developed to bring everyone on the same page. So, it's extremely professional. In addition to that, slight rework is needed in UI.

Pros

I used Canvas during my Graduate program at the University. I liked how everything is integrated in one platform. You can track literally everything in Canvas.

Cons

Least Liked: Since, it was the first platform I used for course management, I found it Complex for a beginner. Also, being a Teaching Assistant, grading a paper was a bit of experience at the beginning.

### "Canvas Review "

November 23, 2024

5.0

Overall, I’ve had a positive experience using Canvas throughout my college years. Over the past four years, I’ve encountered little to no issues with its functionality, making it a reliable platform for my academic needs.

Pros

Canvas is a highly efficient and user-friendly app for students. It offers a variety of submission options, such as file uploads, text entries, and media recordings, making it adaptable to different assignment needs. Additionally, its built-in support features and the ability to directly communicate with instructors provide clarity and assistance, enhancing the overall learning experience.

Cons

One of the least likable aspects of Canvas is its notification system, which can feel overwhelming if not managed properly. I often receive a high volume of alerts for updates, assignments, and discussions, which can be difficult to organize.
