### "Canvas Is The Best!"

March 19, 2026

5.0

Overall, I have enjoyed using Canvas! I have interacted with the platform as instructor, TA, and student and each experience has been good.

Pros

Canvas is a user friendly platform for both instructors and students. It has a wide variety of ways to present and engage with educational materials, and is easy to transfer courses from year to year or even instructor to instructor.

Cons

Canvas is a bit of a heavy lift to get set up at first. Configuring the class modules and adapting for different educational needs (grad vs. undergrad; online vs. in-person) can be time consuming.

### "Very Positive Experience with Canvas "

April 30, 2026

5.0

Overall, my experience with Canvas has been very positive. It was easy to use throughout my entire college experience.

Pros

I like how Canvas is organized. I'm able to see all of my classes and prioritized assignments and projects on the home page. I like how Canvas also allows for real time communication with my professors and my classmates, so we can work on assignments and projects together.

Cons

Honestly, I don't really have any complaints about Canvas as a whole. It's organized in the way that I like and understand so there is not much to complain about personally.

### "Easy and Helpful for Managing Coursework"

September 3, 2026

5.0

Overall, my experience with Canvas has been positive. I use it regularly for my coursework, and once I became familiar with where everything was located, it was pretty easy to navigate. It helps me stay organized and keep up with my assignments and grades.

Pros

Canvas makes it easy to keep track of my classes, assignments, grades, and due dates all in one place. I also like that submitting assignments is simple and I can easily go back and review feedback from my instructors.

Cons

Sometimes it can be difficult to find certain assignments or course materials depending on how the instructor organizes the class. The mobile version can also be a little confusing compared to using Canvas on a computer.

### "Centralized Platform For Tracking Everything"

October 21, 2025

3.0

It has been smooth overall. It can be challenging to create assignments and groups but since it is all on one platform, that makes keeping track of everything easy enough.

Pros

I like how the platform tries to centralize everything and keep it grouped by course. It is easy to look through grades, assignments, and students by class. There is also a messaging system internally, which can be useful.

Cons

This site can be clunky, especially for larger classes. There are times that I have to reload the page because it won't load. Also, it can be hard to create new assignments since you have to code everything precisely.

### "A learning platform that helped me rebuild my career in Canada"

July 1, 2026

5.0

Canvas became an important part of my journey after I moved from India to Canada. As a physiotherapist preparing to continue my profession in a new country, I had to complete online courses and spend many hours studying. Canvas kept everything in one place, including lecture notes, assignments, announcements, and course materials, so I never felt lost. I often studied after work and sometimes late at night, and being able to open Canvas on my phone or laptop made learning much more flexible. It helped me stay organized and focused during a challenging period when I was adapting to a new education system and preparing for my future career.

Pros

What I appreciated most about Canvas was that it made online learning feel simple and organized. I could easily keep track of assignment deadlines, review lecture materials whenever I needed, and communicate with instructors and classmates. During my exam preparation, I didn't have to worry about searching through emails or different websites because everything was available in one place. It gave me confidence that I wasn't missing important updates and allowed me to concentrate on learning instead of managing files.

Cons

At the beginning, it took me some time to become familiar with all the features because I had never used a learning management system like Canvas before. Occasionally, pages loaded slowly if my internet connection was weak, and receiving many notifications at once could feel overwhelming. Once I became comfortable with the platform, however, these became only minor issues and did not affect my overall learning experience.

### "Canvas is Amazing!"

November 7, 2025

5.0

My overall experience with Canvas has been amazing! I truly don't have any complaints for Canvas. The system automatically grades assignments (unless the instructor changes the settings for manual grading). All my messages to my instructors get sent and I never had an email be sent back through Canvas.

Pros

The main aspect I enjoy about Canvas is the ease of understanding the system. It took me an average of thirty-minutes to understand the layout of the system. I enjoy that I can email my instructors from the software instead of opening another tab for the email website. Plus, each course has its own link so the classes are nicely organized.

Cons

I can't think of a single aspect that I don't like about Canvas. My institution used a different platform (forgot the name) but it is MUCH easier to navigate Canvas. The other platform that was used in the past, had too many updates which would lock people out of the system.

### "A Reliable and Organized LMS for the Classroom"

February 19, 2026

4.0

We use Canvas as our primary learning management system. It has been a very strong platform for both teachers and students.

Pros

Canvas allows classroom content to be extremely organized. Assignments, announcements, quizzes, and grades can all be housed in one place, which helps streamline communication and keeps students on track. The ability to schedule content and structure courses into clear modules has made it much easier to manage pacing throughout the semester.

Cons

I have ran into issues with quizzes transferring from one course to another, especially from one school year to another. It turned out our quizzes were somehow housed on a different server than everything else. This issue took almost 3 years to resolve.

### "Canvas review"

August 7, 2026

4.0

Overall I am pretty satisfied and have been happy with using it as I work at a University and also used it prior as a student. It is pretty self explanatory too and easy to figure out.

Pros

I like that it is a place for centralized work and that it can host multiple things such as course work, homework, quizzes, etc. In addition, the fact that it has a mobile app makes it easy to access on devices which is a very big pro especially for students.

Cons

While having a mobile app is a very big pro, I have noticed that there are some limitations in it and some items work better in an actual web browser.

### "Easy to use, great for online classes"

July 27, 2026

5.0

Overall it is easy to use. I like that you can take the quizzes right there and get instant results. I like that it is usually free to use when taking a course.

Pros

Very convenient for classes that I'm taking. Now that I'm not in school I use canvas for my continuing education courses. It has been easy to use to download the content I need.

Cons

Sometimes the format that is downloaded is not compatible. That might be because of the person uploading it or I'm not sure. I wish there were more options on what type of file to download it as.

Cons

Honestly there was nothing I could say that I disliked about Canvas! It is just awesome and so simple, and if you get confused easily, you can always ask for help!

### "Student Friendly - Course Management is Strong"

March 30, 2026

5.0

Overall, it was great for college, and I enjoyed using it while I was in school. I hope other schools would consider using Canvas to help students navigate the more digital prominent aspect for schools now.

Pros

Canvas looks good, clean and is very easy to use. I used it for the entirety of my college career at two different colleges. It allowed to easily manage my course work for each class and allowed for easy communication with my instructors. I didn't have to pay for the use of Canva... that cost was probably factored into each course cost. They are instances of bugs or issues every so often but usually was resolved with a day or less.

Cons

I remember a few cases where I had to contact customer support to help resolve an issue which wasn't the easiest but compared to other customer supports Canvas support was not as difficult as others.

### "Great for Schools!"

March 23, 2026

Overall, my experience is great. The pros greatly outweigh the cons of the platform and i definitely recommend using Canvas.

Pros

Canvas was awesome for our school. I have used it for 8+ years and it was incredibly helpful to both students and teachers. Assignment tracking, scoring, collaborating, and grading are all great features of Canvas.

Cons

When a student may want to review feedback on an assignment, sometimes depending on what device they're using, the feedback is hard to view.

Pros

Canvas is used in my company as the central repository for learning and course management to streamline in-house create courses and blend learning in real-time.

Cons

Canvas is limited to customize unlike alternatives that I have tried - this isn’t a big issue though since I don’t use it regularly.

### "Search and you may not find "

September 20, 2025

4.0

After learning and accepting the downfalls within the platform, I was able to use the platform to the best of my ability to educate myself and graduate from the program I was enrolled.

Pros

Canvas by Insructure served its purpose of providing a platform for students to access education for the program enrolled.

Cons

The search feature within Canvas did not provide effective results. I also found there to be work around a that seemed unnecessary.

### "A Powerful Tool but can be inconsistent in practice"

January 5, 2026

4.0

I appreciate Canvas as a valuable central repository. When an instructor utilizes it properly, it’s a model of efficiency that respects my time. However, a poorly managed course becomes a frustrating time sink, forcing me to hunt for materials. This is compounded by the default notification settings, which flood my inbox with emails for every minor change, adding unnecessary digital noise to an already busy schedule. It's a powerful tool whose potential can sometimes be limited by inconsistent use.

Pros

Canvas is pretty good at organization. The dashboard provides a clear overview of all courses, while the integrated calendar and to-do list make tracking deadlines effortless. The mobile app is fantastic for checking progress and announcements on the go, creating an efficient centralized hub.

Cons

The platform is not very consistent. The experience is entirely dependent on how well an instructor organizes the course; a poorly structured page is a nightmare to navigate. The interface can feel dated, and the default notification settings often lead to an overwhelming flood of emails for minor updates.

### "Used from highschool to graduate school! So convenient"

December 2, 2025

5.0

Excellent. I've been using from highschool to my graduate school right now, and I remember when I first use Canvas in my highschool time. I always had to ask my grades to teachers, and can not check what I missed, If I missed the school, but since Canvas came out, it made my life so much convenient.

Pros

Organized, well structured to use for students. Easy to check grades, which is most important thing for students!

Cons

There is sometime updates and system check up, which brings whole canvas app down for few hours. Instructors understand those situations, but sometime it is bothering.
