### "Easy to use app for College Students"

July 25, 2022

4.0

I had a good experience with CANVAS the first semester I used it. I found this app as a good organizer when attending college because it even gives you a 'free class' on how to use it or not.

Pros

What I like more about CANVAS is the 'To Do' tab, where we can see all the upcoming deadlines and keep track of them.

Cons

Sometimes it gets confusing the display of the assignments for a course. I believe it could be a standard tab in all matters because sometimes we find the jobs in one place, and it depends on the subject, we find them in another place.

### "Takes the classroom worldwide"

July 14, 2021

5.0

Pros

CANVAS was essential to managing courses both as a student and a teaching assistant during the pandemic. It's great for maintaining academic integrity (with minute-by-minute breakdowns of tests) and managing courses. As a student, I love using Canvas because it keeps all the information I need organized and helps me distinguish school-related work from my other remote jobs. I would highly recommend Canvas to educators who are seeking a remote or online-accessible option for students who can't always make it to class.

Cons

There are some data loss issues when it comes to internet connection breaks and sometimes Canvas will just suddenly disconnect while you're writing a test which can be pretty stressful. I've also seen other profs experience problems with images/visuals attached to questions during exams. Sometimes it just won't display which is pretty difficult when it's required to answer the question. Also if you have a ton of students taking the same exam... sometimes Canvas gets bogged down and you may experience IT issues.

### "Best training & learning management system"

June 13, 2022

5.0

If you are seeking out an smooth to control platform for training and trainer team of workers members, Canvas is one of the excellent software out there. Great for remote team of workers and might without problems be used in-residence as well, as Canvas shops documentation in smooth to navigate modules. While in a few instances, locating positive features may be difficult, in case you empower your group to simply "click on around" then they may don't have any troubles operating within-side the platform and gaining knowledge of the essential material.

Pros

We have used Canvas as training education platform. it absolutely was integrated with the staff job training and education for the continued learning program. Canvas could be a nice platform to mix and combination all the training activities, info and courses. Canvas is employed across the native faculties within the space and have used it on variety of occasions for that furthermore.

Cons

They have some glitches nearly not possible for many organization to line up properly. An enormous disappointment for user.

### "Best User Friendly and cost effective LMS Software "

March 9, 2022

5.0

Highly Recommended Software.

Pros

The best part of this software is that it is highly user friendly and inexpensive software. This software makes students and teachers interaction more frequent and successful. The added advantage is that parents can also have a check on their child progress, grade sheets etc.

Cons

There is nothing that I don't like about this software personally.

### "Canvas Student"

June 23, 2022

5.0

Overall, I love using Canvas as a student. I wish I could use it for management of school tasks beyond my coursework (e.g. administrative requirements), because of the way it makes me feel organized and prepared.

Pros

I like that the software is user friendly. I have used Blackboard for classes in the past, and Canvas is a more improved version of the platform. I also really like the feature that celebrates you through GIFs when you complete an assignment. It is really motivating.

Cons

I like the calendar feature, but I wish there could be a checklist associated with it. Or a way to check off tasks on certain dates ahead of the date. If there was a way to embed a daily to do list within the platform, it would be perfect.

### "I Cannot Teach Without Canvas!"

June 23, 2021

5.0

As a teacher I would really hesitate to teach in any district that didn't use Canvas. I love it and am so accustomed to it that I don't think I could live without it.

Pros

As an English and journalism teacher, I was drowning in papers and texts. For me to work at home, I'd take a CRATE of work each night. A crate. Canvas allowed me to take a laptop home or anywhere for that matter, and have everything I needed for any of my classes at any time. I LOVE IT.

Cons

Reporting a problem, making a suggestion, or getting help should be easier. I would think we'd have a CHAT feature with someone from Canvas. When I found out that my concerns were going in-house to our administrator of the software to then research for us, I was frustrated because that is a time-consuming process. When I have an issue, I need an answer then, not in weeks.

### "The Last LMS You Will Ever Purchase"

February 28, 2022

5.0

As a staple in higher education, online and hybrid learning have played a central role in offering courses to a geographically dispersed demographic of students. Canvas provides this ability with a solid product and reliable up time to help us meet these goals.

Pros

A very powerful platform with a low threshold for adoption and ease of use. Our instructors rave about the intuitiveness of the course builder features and functionality. Since the pandemic, nearly all of the institution's thousands of courses have content online in Canvas - including the traditional in-person classes.

Cons

Integration with our student information system required some additional outside services to that students, courses, and grades could be synced in real time in order to give students immediate access once enrolled for the class.

### "CANVAS is a great tool for Courses and International competitions."

August 7, 2021

5.0

It's a nice program for communicating with students and is very organized. I really like to use it.

Pros

If you work in a school or a scientific competition, or if you wish to teach a class, you can use CANVAS. It's an excellent application because the grade book offers an Effective Teaching option for tracking progress against a set of academic criteria. Students and teachers will benefit from this mobile-friendly and easy tool. The largest business would be distance education, although it performs excellently in general.

Cons

It can be tough to cope with at first when using the application, and it takes a long time to publish a post on the student page. Students occasionally carried assessments in the incorrect location and took time to get acquainted with the mobile phone application.

### "CANVAS - Easy e-learning Setup"

March 17, 2021

4.0

It is easy and quick to set up even for no technical people. It is a reasonable cost depending on usage.

Pros

The first thing I noted about Canvas is that when creating content, the page looks like an MS Word document. This makes creating pages with content easy as the learning curse is very gentle. There is very little need to be technical. It is more a matter of formatting rather than getting to know the software platform itself. The dashboard is clean and modern with easy navigation on the left sidebar for courses, account information, calendar, inbox and help. Your default home is your published and unpublished courses. On the courses tabs, are announcement and conversation icons that notify if a course has issues you need to attend to in a specific course. The settings menu is straightforward with nothing cryptic even for non-technical people. Setting up courses is a breeze with a 'Course Setup Checklist' button available inside each course shell you create. There is a walkthrough for each element of a course from content to publishing your course. If you have an existing course you can simply import the course with several formats supported including but not limited to Blackboard, Moodle and zip. For educators at various institutions, they can just import and customize where the need arises for the different institutions. Assessment types include quizzes and assignments. It also integrates easily with other services like Google Drive, Office/Docs and others.

Cons

Video elements management needs improvement, the thumbnails are poor quality and very small. There is no option to edit them. To get a good visual of Office elements needs embedding the content hosted somewhere else. Natively on the platform PDF and PPT display poorly with just vertical scrolling. Exporting An exported courses from Canvas is in a custom format that is not compatible with other LMS platforms. This makes it hard to move between platforms. There not much customization of learning elements compared to other LMS available. Some of the support documentation is dated and needs updating.

### "Easy to use...only if you know what you're doing"

October 11, 2020

4.0

The best thing a new Canvas user could do would be to attend training FIRST. Do NOT just jump in like I did and assume that because you're tech savvy you'll figure it out quickly. It took me weeks and weeks when I first started using it to build my class. Lots of trial and error and calling the IT department. I should have just saved myself some time and gone to training! But I didn't have the time so I winged it. Ugh. On the whole though, once you learn how to use it, it's not bad at all. And it gets easier with time. And again, it's 10x better than Moodle! Also, there is a Canvas "Commons" where you can look at other Canvas courses that other instructors have put together so you can get an idea of techniques you might use. But, you still might need to do a training session with IT to figure out how to replicate the cool graphics that others are using! Again, it's not intuitive, and there is not a lot of online help available. But on the whole, Canvas is the best thing out there right now.

Pros

I've been using Canvas as an instructor at a university for the past 7+ years. The best thing about Canvas is that it's better organized than Moodle, which I've also used. I encountered Canvas when I came to work at my university. Before I started my job I was only familiar with Moodle, which I thought was an awful ed-tech application. I found Canvas to have a better interface, and was easier to navigate as a user. As an instructor, there are all kinds of features that you can use to set up a class, foster engagement, track student progress and assess completion of assignments. You can set up discussions, assign students to groups and even enable them to meet virtually. Canvas also works well for asynchronous learning in that you can create a course that is self-paced and students can step through each assignment on their own time.

Cons

The biggest challenge with Canvas is that it's not easy to use, unless you've been trained and know what you're doing. I had to learn Canvas completely on my own and it was a bit of a nightmare, even for someone like me who is very comfortable with technology. It's not entirely intuitive, especially when you're building a course from scratch. It's basically a website and you have to learn how to link pages, websites, documents, etc. You don't need to know how to code or use HTML, but it's still very painstaking to set up a class, even if you copy a previous class from year to year and just need to update it. The grading feature was also "updated" and it's more annoying now and less easy to use. The one big drawback though is the interface in that it's not all that graphical. You have to learn work arounds to make the interface more appealing to students. It's still better than Moodle! But still, it would be great if they could make it more like a real graphical website and less like a Word document on a website.

### "Canvas for Online Learning, Teaching & Assessment: OK but..."

February 6, 2021

3.0

Best valuable features: Share to Common, Import/export content i.e., transport/transfer files from past year or another course. It saves time, not reinventing the wheel. Assignment Due date is very cruel to learner as 1 second late submission may cause a heavy penalty. Recently due to COVID-19 my learners in UK and International faced difficulties. I suggest to add a feature giving some window instead of a fix hh.mm.ss timestamp.

Pros

Learning & Teaching: Various useful features, e.g., upload/download files, page creation, announcement and discussion and valuable apps containing ubiquitous tools, like MS Team meetings, Panopto, Vimeo, YouTube, Dropbox etc. Assessment: Huge variety of Quizzes, secured quizzes, quizzes SWOT statistics, lockdown browser, Assignments, anti-Plagiarism tools, Moderation, Marker Allocation, Grades, Research: Conferences, collaborations, Canvas digital forum support.

Cons

Assessment of students: sorting may not be sync'd with local university database. i.e., downloaded grades and university's marksheet contains names of students starting differently. Imaging if you have 300+ names! this causes sorting issues while assessing online. Quizzes are great but cannot create duplicate questions, some time academic need this feature. Also because quiz question can be an Essay therefore, this type of assessment must include anti-plagiarism tool (i.e., Turnitin etc), not available in Quizzes but only in Assignments. Reference Manager and Library tools are not available but can be added, e.g., Talis, StudyNet etc. These features are necessary for cognitive learning and cresting your own Library does help. I need to use either Endnotes or Mendeley as an external app on my desktop or on cloud. Its good to use integrated Email tool but its not linked to outlook or other email app. I cannot send email to other people outside my module, i.e., cannot do cc to manager, examiner etc but I need to permanently add in the list of people. Also cannot add images etc in text but can attach files. Also cannot format the text but just plaintext is allowed. You cannot add http link to a text.

### "Powerful Course Management Tool "

November 23, 2021

5.0

I did my masters during the peak covid times, during which all the classes were made online. We have used canves extensively during this period. My overall experience was very good with CANVAS. It was able to handle huge student population without any glitch.

Pros

Simple UI, very intuitive to use. The platform was easily explorable. All the resources were made avaibale. From s student perspective: 1. Course and activity tracking 2. Discussion forum 3. Easy to submit the assignments 4. Supports multiple file formats. From Professor Perspective: 1. Easy to publish the assessments 2. Easy to host tests 3. Good analytics platform 4. Able to interact with the students well .

Cons

As for as I am concerned, I am good with this platform.

### ""Empowering Creativity: Navigating Education and Design with Canva""

August 31, 2023

5.0

My experience with Canva has been incredibly positive. It's a versatile and user-friendly tool that has elevated my design game. From classroom materials to social media posts, Canva's features and templates have made creating visually appealing content a breeze, enhancing my overall creative process.

Pros

I appreciate Canva's versatility and user-friendly interface the most. It empowers me to effortlessly create captivating visuals for various purposes, from classroom materials to social media graphics. Its extensive library, collaborative features, and animation options make design enjoyable and effective, even without prior experience.

Cons

While Canva is highly useful, I sometimes find its more advanced design features limited compared to professional design software. Additionally, certain customization options can be restrictive, particularly when creating complex graphics. However, for most everyday design needs, Canva remains an excellent choice.

### "Excellent LMS for Grad Students"

January 20, 2022

5.0

Great experience overall, happy that my school chose to go with.

Pros

As a grad student, I need a central location for all my classes, including schedules, lessons, assignments and grades. Canvas provides all of these features and more. I really like that I can check my "what if" grade, which allows me to enter in possible grades and what I could score in the class. Helps me plan.

Cons

Notifications do not always go through, which can be frustrating when you are waiting for feedback. Also, submitted assignments can be confusing as well as reusing content that have already been uploaded.

### "CANVAS is a great tool for online learning"

December 17, 2021

4.0

Pros

Once you know your way around, CANVAS eventually becomes easy to use. It's a bit daunting at first, though. As long as you don't have an assignment due on the one day it goes down, this is a trusty tool.

Cons

Rarely, there will be those times when CANVAS does go down. It's very inconvenient if you were to get a splash of inspiration or are doing a late-night project when it's maintenance time.

### "CANVAS, an essential tool for my learning"

April 6, 2023

5.0

Pros

What I like most about canvas so far is its organized and intuitive interface, the ease it gives us to edit courses and how pending assignments of the courses we are taking are presented on the calendar. Also its personalization, either on a cell phone or on a web page, which is easy to do and does it very quickly.

Cons

Like any other software platform, I consider some certain negative points: such as an initial learning curve for unfamiliar users, technology dependency and possible connection interruptions. However, it must be borne in mind that these negative points may vary according to the needs and preferences of each user.

### "It is an incredible software with many functions to carry out your classes"

August 5, 2021

5.0

It is a very versatile software for educational programs, it is ideal to have the courses organized and centralized in a single place where you can access the study material, develop collaborative work, evaluations and communication between the teacher and the student.

Pros

It's intuitive, easy to use and configure, it's great for collaborative work, it's ZOOM compatible, it's great, and students love it. You have different options to carry out your classes asynchronously (Package offece, forums, announcements, emails) and synchronously (zoom). You can create question banks and setting them to be displayed randomly is a very useful function.

Cons

The gradebook can be improved, it must have an additional function for advanced configuration to assign the percentages. It should have a chat option and know who is online in real time so that students can study collaboratively.

Reason for choosing Canvas

I have used the canvas because the university acquired the software, and I consider that they have made the correct decision for all its functions, especially since the transition to totally virtual classrooms was very effective.

### "Student using Canvas for E-Learning"

June 3, 2021

4.0

Overall my experience with CANVAS has been very pleasant, especially now that learning is online.

Pros

I like how canvas breaks down the parts of class into tabs. For instant you click your course and from there you get sections for Grades, Syllabus, Quizzes, Assignments, etc. Another feature I really like is the calendar. I use it to stay on top of assignments and due dates. I also like that you can set it up to send announcements through email or the app for when a due date is coming up.

Cons

The Support section could be improved. As it is now, if you have an issue with Canvas and submit a ticket it takes about a week for someone to get back to you.

### "Great product for learners and instructors"

June 15, 2022

5.0

It is helpful for students to learn their courses, get introduced to classmates, and get tested on their knowledge!

Pros

I like the ease of access and navigation both as a student and an instructor. I love the feature where students get to comment on your post or each other's post. That helped with the interaction especially when my students commented on my announcements. I taught asynchronous learning for a semester and while I particularly didn't enjoy asynchronous teaching because I'm extroverted, Canvas made it easier. I could easily do discussion boards for my students to get their responses. I could put them into groups for them to have that team bonding in a sense. Finally, I love how I could incorporate external technology like Panopto into the canvas platform. This is important in cases like asynchronous learning.

Cons

I would love to see how the studio can be enhanced for more advanced video needs.

### "Canvas is a wonderful software in more ways than one!"

June 13, 2022

5.0

Pros

My personal experience with Canvas has been amazing! I access the software daily. Overall, this software has helped me be more organized throughout my education journey. Two things I love about Canvas is the calandar and the to do list because they are easily accessible from the home page. This helps me not only stay on track but also know exactly what coursework is due on which dates.

Cons

The mobile layout can be confusing because it is different than the online layout. Many of the mobile app features lag or time out often, which can be frustrating while completing coursework. Unfortunately, I often lost my coursework solely due to the webpage timing out after a few minutes.

### "Canvas Has Some Flaws, But Overall is a Great Tool"

April 12, 2022

4.0

Overall, I have a great experience with Canvas. I think a lot of the things I don't like about it are associated with grades, coursework, tests, and exams, which I negatively view and thus I negatively view Canvas sometimes by association. But it allows students to do so much, professors to easily communicate with huge lectures, and in the age of COVID, it allows for such a seamless transition to online classes when necessary.

Pros

I most like how easy it is for students and professors to to communicate on the platform. I really like how assignments are posted, grades are given, and all the information we could possibly need is on Canvas – I also really like how it's possible to take quizzes and tests, as well as to see the box plot distribution of grades when that's applicable.

Cons

I really dislike how the UI of the files looks. There's also so much going on with the platform and many unused features. With the calendar, for example, I wish there was a way for me to remove it from the sidebar if a professor makes no use of it – otherwise it just clutters everything. If there was more student control on the look of the UI and access to specific resources needed, then it would feel so much more dynamic than it currently is. Syllabi, for example – if I could create a shortcut to them on my dashboard, I would love Canvas!

### "The best platform for a student "

May 26, 2022

5.0

Having this tool to help me remember my assignments, to know better my classmates, and do countless great things has make my life as a student so much easier.

Pros

What I like the most is that everything you need to submit is shown in one page, organised by course, time, and day it needs to be uploaded. You can't miss anything if you know how to use it. It has a lot of potential.

Cons

I think everything is awesome, but something that might need a little improvement is the way each course is organised. Sometimes is a little difficult to find some assignments, or sources like documents, but it doesn't overshadows the rest of the platform.

### "Canvas is very useful for digial education system"

April 1, 2022

5.0

I have been using Canvas for a several years for my graduate education. My overall experience is very good. I still have access to the course contents and my submission. Therefore, I need to look back to any of those contents, I have access to them through Canvas, which is amazing.

Pros

Canvas supports almost everything those are necessary to support a digital education system. The instructor can upload course materials, lectures, provide assignments and home works, and publish the grades. Student can access the course materials and submit exam, assignments, and home works.

Cons

For online live lectures the instructor has to rely on other software, which could be a feature of Canvas.
