### "Canvas, the Second Way We Can Communicate Our Knowledge"

August 22, 2022

5.0

It was a great experience using canvas, actually even if we're not on class/work, I always use canvas every time and anywhere.

Pros

It is super easy to use. I like the most on this feature is that, we can use it in our mobile phone and the features and parts of this software are timely and appealing.

Cons

None, it already gave me the satisfaction that I want on a software.

### "I like the interface very much !!!, it so easy to use."

October 1, 2021

5.0

I have used CANVAS for the entirety of my Masters' degree program and I must say it has been extremely pleasant to deal. I really enjoyed it.

Pros

The interface is probably the best thing this software has. It is extremely easy to navigate and use. The sidebar makes it feel as if the entire application is summarized in this left side, which is good, because CANVAS is an extremely dense software. I also really like the fact that it is robust, so I don't recall it ever failing me, when it comes to submissions or anything of the like. Messaging on CANVAS is also simple, easy and reliable. The gradebook's "what if" feature is incredible, because as someone who used to use Moodle for his BSc I used to do this all the time on external websites, but on CANVAS you can do all of that in house. The Dashboard is also a very nice and neat feature that basically puts tasks in perspective so you do not miss out on doing any major work. The auto-grading system is also incredible.

Cons

The very first time I used it took me a bit to figure out, But once I got the hang of it, it was pretty straight forward.

### "Easy to use with advanced functionality "

April 5, 2022

5.0

Pros

The ease of use was what stood out to our company primarily. All of the canvas functions and feature met our expectations and integrated with our courses perfectly.

Cons

The only downside is it wants to automatically connect with google accounts. It searched for them primarily and without prompting.

### "Great Student Portal System"

November 20, 2023

5.0

I really like the team grouping feature and gradebook, making grading clear and concise.

Pros

I have used canvas both in undergraduate and graduate school, and I have seen a lot of improvements during that time. I do very much like the interface, internal assignments, upload portal, and group features. I also like the embedded word processor used for discussion assignments. It's got a lot of features.

Cons

I think more work could be done on google suite/Microsoft suite interfacing, as the current offerings don't work very effectively. Otherwise, I haven't run into any issues with canvas.

### "A Revolutionary Aid to Learning"

January 8, 2019

5.0

Pros

I have used canvas at both my previous college and my current one which I transferred to, for both classes which were taken entirely on the platform (online classes) and classes where it was used as an aid. The ability to see an up to date schedule for your classes, contact instructors, revisit old modules, submit assignments online, view and respond to instructor feedback... It's completely changed the game. It's become an intrinsic part of my routine to check canvas everyday. You can also customize what alerts you want to see, so if your instructor gives you feedback or sends an alert out you can get an email straight away. The app is also fantastic and very convenient! If you're an instructor and you don't use canvas, I worry that I won't be able to see important changes in time. Plus, feedback is relegated to the old fashioned, penciled in way of the early 2000s. We're better than that now, in no small part due to Canvas, which has genuinely revolutionized the medium learning takes.

Cons

There was one brief time this year where they pushed an update that made it so one of my instructors would see some error message when they clicked on my file submission, even though they were able to successfully download the file. They patched that quickly! Overall, it turns of lasting cons, canvas has tried very hard to become irreplaceable, and they've succeeded. My only problem is when instructors aren't tech oriented, and so don't understand how to set up a course shell, but that's not canvas' fault.

### "Feedback of Canvas User"

February 15, 2022

5.0

From the perspective of a student, Canvas is a great platform. I appreciate the structure of the software, both the web-based setup and the mobile apps, one for teachers and one for students, because it is really simple to use and makes learning more enjoyable. The majority of consumers find it easy to use. It's also customizable, so it can be used for a wide range of purposes.

Pros

Canvas is very easy to use and has an option if you're a student and a teacher in the software. Canvas is a great way to organize your learning. A Dashboard, a high-level summary of major courses, and a Global navigation menu that allows access to the LMS's main features, is what I liked the most in this software. You can also see your to do list and it prioritizes the ones who have due dates.

Cons

The least thing I like about this software is that it has some technical issues with audio recording that users have to deal with. When the due date is not set at midnight, it erases the assignment automatically. Students' messages are not recorded until the teachers respond to them.

### "Intuitive, Flexible and Organized for the College Venue"

October 15, 2020

5.0

As an adjunct professor, I appreciate ability to plan, present and communicate without headaches. As I had to teach myself how to use this platform, it was important and appreciated that this was not a headache nor was it complicated. Canvas provides me a place to communicate with students, post assignments, send announcements and track grades. Creating quizzes is simple, as is organizing class materials and taking attendance. If needed, a seating chart can be created in minutes, complete with student photo. I use both the website and the mobile app as part of my educational endeavors.

Pros

CANVAS is easy to use, flexible, organized and intuitive. I taught myself how to use it--I didn't even have to use the help guide to do it. Simple integration with apps such as Zoom is appreciated in this time of COVID. Canvas allows me to present my on-line class with little effort and little concern. The mobile app is robust, which is appreciated when on-the-go.

Cons

I have not experienced any issues with Canvas. Honestly, it's simple and user-friendly. I am not privy to the cost of Canvas, so that might be a con.

### "Easy to use "

June 30, 2025

5.0

Good overall performance and experience. The program it self is very easy to use and requires a low skill set.

Pros

It’s definitely gotten easier to use with time. It’s easier to navigate and upload work that I’ve completed

Cons

I wouldn’t say there any major cons. Anytime there is a needed data fix it usually fixes any bugs or problems.

### "College course management program for students, faculty, and staff"

January 2, 2019

4.0

Pros

After my university switched over to Canvas as the preferred course management software, I was happy to finally have a user-friendly interface to work with. The menu is not cluttered and all tabs and icons are easy to find. One of the main advantages of Canvas is the ability to easily sync a school email account and get live notifications when items and assignments are posted. Professors can also setup calendars that help remind students of exam, project, and homework due dates. Students can also setup discussions or threads within their respective courses, which is useful when a lot of students have a similar question. Saves the professor time from having to answer 50 emails about the same question.

Cons

The notification system, both as a student and professor, is not the most efficient system. Canvas is meant to have a built-in emailing program. This creates a lot of confusion when students send messages via Canvas (which is linked to a school email account) and separately send messages directly from their school email. I've encountered times where it was not clear how to send a message directly to particular member of the course, and ended up emailing the entire class by accident. Professors often alternate between general email notifications and "Dashboard" notifications within Canvas. It makes it confusing for students as to where exactly to look for course related information. I find this lack of streamlining for notifications to be the biggest drawback.

### "Great college experience because of Canvas"

February 23, 2022

5.0

I really liked that Canvas would help me manage my stress as a student. I found that I was able to more easily view upcoming assignments and manage when things were due and how I would get things done.

Pros

I liked that all of my classes were viewable in different formats. I had a dashboard that would show me upcoming assignments and it helped me manage my class workloads. I definitely would not have had as successful a college experience without Canvas.

Cons

I disliked that my professors wouldn't use the features available. Due dates would pass and Canvas would yell at me, but the professors had put in the wrong due dates.

### "best learning and education software"

November 21, 2023

5.0

personally my experience with canvas is rather positive due to its ability to organize tasks and its qualitative free version

Pros

the ease and simplicity of the software is one of the points that makes canvas one of the best learning software but also the qualitative and quantitative content that the software offers makes all the difference

Cons

the negative point of canvas and that we cannot see the previous affections once locked but also if you have an unstable connection you can be ejected from duty and negatively impacted upon your reconnection

Alternatives considered

[Acuity Scheduling](https://www.capterra.com/p/191978/Acuity-Scheduling/)[Visio](https://www.capterra.com/p/201133/Visio/)

Reason for choosing Canvas

I chose canvas rather than its alternatives because of its free version which is qualitative and its affordable price

### "Canvas will never get old"

May 13, 2022

5.0

Pros

I liked how easy it was so access all my school materials, homework, and take online tests. There were never online testing until canvas came out. After things started to go remote due to Covid 19, canvas made it easy to continue to learn from home.

Cons

There was nothing I disliked about this software but a suggestion would be to be able to add classes. That would make it really easy and an even more powerful software than others.

### "I enjoy using CANVAS"

February 9, 2024

5.0

Pros

I started using CANVAS over 2 years ago when I first became a Teaching Assistant. Once I got the hang of how to use and optimize it for my classroom, it was the easiest thing I've ever done. It is really easy to submit grades and review assignments that students have submitted. I can also use it to keep in contact with my students and give class-wide or individual updates. It also it is easy for my students to get in contact with me as well.

Cons

There was a learning curve that I had to overcome when I first started using CANVAS but the learning portion didn't last very long.

### "Canvas LMS: A Digital Canvas"

November 2, 2021

5.0

Overall, I enjoy using Canvas because it does exactly what it is designed to do.

Pros

The software is a one-stop-shop for all LMS needs. It's easy to use and the platform promotes a positive experience for learners. You can include videos, chat board, etc. without any issues and large files can be uploaded without any problems.

Cons

I can't think of any cons; it's an LMS system that is continuously evolving.

### "Canvas - A professional and organized platform."

February 27, 2022

5.0

As a student I can say that canvas is a good platform, my experience has been productive and it was not difficult for me to understand the platform system.

Pros

The canvas platform gives an organized experience, it has a very friendly and good interface, sending documents and information is very simple because we can send the information directly on the platform or on google drive.

Cons

What I liked least about this platform is that some options are a bit hidden, I also think they could be clearer when showing pending homeworks. I also think the canvas mobile app can be much better, the interface is very compressed.

### "Canvas as a student user"

February 1, 2019

3.0

Compared to Moodle, I like Canvas much better. It is very much focused and geared towards enhancing the student's learning experience.

Pros

I have been using canvas regularly for all my graduate classes. It has been the epicenter/hub for the instructor and all other students to come together and create a intuitive learning environment. Things I really like with canvas: - Discussions and Help Forums It's so easy to post questions in canvas and ask the professor and other students for help or clarifications. my graduate classes are pretty demanding and requires lot of back and forth with the instructor. But imagine if every student asked the instructor the same questions over and over again. On canvas I can see other student's questions and responses so it's like big FAQ hub. - Easy to navigate Contents All of the contents such as lecture slides, videos, homeworks, grades etc are in one location under different tabs. It has been organized properly and I don't have to click 100 times to get tot the page I want. - Interaction with other students I think this is what differentiates Canvas from moodle and what I have used in the past. This platform is very much student geared and student centered. It is there to help students interact with each other and learn from each other.

Cons

Canvas is not perfect though if you are not an expert user or instructor. - Many times instructors said the contents are released but it wasn't - The grades accumulation does not always makes sense - Very much dependent on how the instructor has laid out contents. - Redundant information - Not always user friendly. Does take a while to get adjusted to it

### "The 21st century requires interacting, learning and living the virtuality"

June 12, 2018

4.0

To reduce the distances between the participants and expand the possibilities and technological literacy of all.

Pros

The teaching of the 21st century requires a change in models and approach to learning. The change allows to reeplantear not only the contents of the subjects, moreover, the tools with which the teacher will have to share their experiences. It is very valuable to have a virtual space in which you can group: Class documents, videos, conferences, guides, questionnaires, tests, texts, messaging, links, e-mail, all online. The teacher, in this platform, also has the ability to qualify the different assignments and even make various qualifications in real time. The interaction can also include the representatives, who can also access, if they wish, the platform. Through the "Collaborations", participants can work as a team their classroom projects, through group editing programs, which can be sent directly to Canvas. The personalization, organization and structure of the modules is very helpful for the participants to experience the different advantages of virtual training.

Cons

The platforms have generalized their use in such a way that it is easy to find them in different stages and school courses, as well as in undergraduate and postgraduate university studies. In the same way, the age of the instructors and of the participants varies considerably. When users are not able to interact with each other easily and quickly, they lose interest, not only for the course, but also for the platform, which translates into a considerable loss of effectiveness and impact of the same. It would be fantastic if the teachers could have a cheaper version of the platform, but not be "tied" to large organizations, schools and universities, a kind of "private" virtual classroom that is managed and set almost entirely by the teacher, who will only have to enter his participants, in different classrooms, at the same time, and with an accessible cost.

### "Canvas Benefits"

October 2, 2022

4.0

Overall I found Canvas to be really helpful and results for online quizzes and tests were quick! It's simple to use with a variety of options, and that makes developing learning plans for students easy. It's user friendly and has most of the features that you need. Good for organizations and easy to integrate many apps. It is well constructed!

Pros

The functions and every day support it offers is second to none. It's innovative and practical to use and with the amount of students I teach with various learning styles, I found it provided many options. I like to be able to have easy access to student grades and it's great for that!

Cons

There are a lot of training sessions which sometimes I just don't have time to do as a busy teacher. Sometimes when I needed to get assistance for support with not understanding an interface, it took a long time to connect with support over the phone.

### "Review About CANVAS"

March 30, 2022

5.0

Overall my experience with CANVAS is great its very easy to use and has a lot of useful features, very useful for both students and teachers. But there are some areas where they need to improve one of them is a mobile application and they should include some built-in video conference tool.

Pros

1\. Very user-friendly and easy to use. 2. It includes very useful tools just like calenders, file sharing options, and grade marking options. 3. It has Zoom integration with which you can schedule and store. 4. customer service is very quick and supportive. 5. Its dashboard presents a detailed list of your recent activities. 6. Grading option works very efficiently.

Cons

1\. Mobile app has some glitches. 2. Lack of built-in video conference tool. 3. Sometimes massages are delayed. 4. Zoom features are quite confusing but once you are used to it you can use it easily.

### "Canvas is the clear winner"

November 21, 2019

5.0

My overall experience with CANVAS has been terrific. It's made me feel more confident as a student, and has saved me valuable time because I can always find exactly what I need for my weekly assignments thanks to its modern-style dashboard and advanced functionality. A true winner for all students, both young and old.

Pros

As a returning student attaining an MBA through an online program at a state university, I spent the first several semesters suffering through Blackboard. Like CANVAS, Blackboard is a learning management system used by today's higher education institutions. However, I always found it to be difficult to navigate and challenging to use. Recently, my university switched to CANVAS. I was nervous at first because, while I was no fan of Blackboard, I feared CANVAS might be worse. Thankfully I was completely wrong. CANVAS features a clean dashboard where all of your courses, assignments, grades, discussion boards, and other online learning tools can easily be accessed. It's extremely user-friendly and I had become a skilled CANVAS user in under an hour. I used to dread accessing Blackboard, but now I welcome accessing CANVAS instead.

Cons

There is literally nothing to dislike about CANVAS. Even those new to online learning will find it simple to use and extremely flexible.
