### "Canvas as a Teacher and Student"

October 19, 2019

5.0

Overall, I would say that Canvas is a great program when you know the ins and outs of the program. I have used it as a student and a teacher and I can see the benefits of having Canvas. It is easy to navigate, but there is a lot to learn to make it work correctly.

Pros

Canvas is nice to get information and links out to students really quickly and efficiently. The layout can be nice once you know the bells and whistles. You can embed items into the website for students to access. Canvas has a lot of means to respond to an assignment. Students can upload a document from the computer, or Google Docs. Students can submit a picture, video, or audio file as well. You can have an online discussion as well, where students can interact with each other. The speed grading feature is very nice and grades will port over to Gradebook. (Which is the grading software my district uses)

Cons

Sometimes the links don't work and you won't know about it until the students find them. I teach languages, and so I often have a template that I would like the students to use. The students had to download the template, edit it on their own device, then upload their template back onto Canvas. It was extremely frustrating when students would not upload the correct file. The cost of Canvas is pretty steep as well.

### "Canvas - Student Review"

November 8, 2018

4.0

Pros

This is the best online organizational tool to connect and share class material with students and teachers. I recently started graduate school and could not be happier with Canvas. I came from a school that used a different online organizational program that was clunky and not easy to use. The features available on canvas has made navigating my class pages a breeze. The tools available for collaboration online have been very helpful for me as well since a lot of the students in my class are either commuting to class and do not spent much time at school, and because of the amount of weekend work we are required to do. Canvas is awesome.

Cons

There could be a little more streamlining of the site navigation. May this comes from how the professors organize their individual pages, but some times it seems like it takes a couple tries to get where I need to go.

Overall, Canvas has been a great tool and has helped transform the field of higher education.

Pros

I will say this software is much easier to comprehend than the previous platform I used to complete my school work.

Cons

While Canvas has been a wonderful software to use, the only issue I faced was the adjustment to the new software and user interface.

### "CANVAS great tool for learners!"

June 2, 2021

5.0

CANVAS is a great educational software. I wish every educational institute should use CANVAS . I am highly recommended CANVAS to my friends and colleagues.

Pros

CANVAS is a fantastic software that has been discovered recently for remote learning. Learning through online media is a recent trend in this Covid pandemic. CANVAS has been making this distance learning swiftly and effectively. Collaboration with Zoom makes it more reliable and user-friendly. CANVAS helps me analyze my educational progress and helping me solving my assigned assignment properly. CANVAS keeps me on track.

Cons

I do not have any issues with CANVAS. But all my professors are not used to it. That creates some miss contact sometimes.

### "A majority of online courses use this"

October 18, 2020

4.0

Throughout my 6 years of using it. I got a hang of it after 2 years.

Pros

Its the best brand I have used. Work is easily submitted and network is reliable.

Cons

Due dates can be missed since teachers use different outputs. Upcoming assignments could be in modules or main area. Depends on when it is posted. Don't rely solely on assignments tab\*

### "Canvas makes online classes easy"

November 28, 2019

5.0

Overall Canvas gives a solid consistent student experience across their schedule each semester.

Pros

Canvas is easy to use for students and instructors alike. It's highly customizable by each instructor so it can be tailored to the coursework of each class yet it's also fairly consistent so students can learn how to use it across their class schedule, speeding up the learning curve.

Cons

Canvas can be glitchy sometimes for students in the beginning of each semester. Part of it is the initial student learning curve but part of it can be glitches Instructure needs to address.

### "Great Educational LMS"

August 28, 2021

5.0

Overall, a great, full-featured tool for educational management.

Pros

Easy to use module system, file sharing, and grade access for everything you need. Additional tools like discussion board, announcements postings, and connections to outside services like Gradescope and Google Drive make Canvas one of the best LMS tools I have used.

Cons

Some additional features including class grade distributions and percentile data overall for a class would be welcome.

### "I love canvas"

I use canvas for my schooling and business. I am able to submit things to my manager and to my teachers. Rather than print things off I am using it as a tool to save paper and time and i absolutely love it.

Pros

Cons

### "A powerhouse system"

August 4, 2020

5.0

A breeze. Servers are rarely down or malfunctioning, and the singular time in my experience that they have been, customer service was very accommodating. The software itself is amazing, but having excellent staff to back it up just goes the extra mile in value.

Pros

Prior to the current pandemic, Canvas was already a great platform for academia. Now, with coronavirus necessitating a large shift to online instruction, its ability to function as a gradebook, lecture/class shell, and assessment provider is invaluable. Many high schools and especially colleges would not be able to function efficiently without it.

Cons

In comparison to other services that offer both a grading platform and an assessment platform, Canvas unfortunately does not provide the option to "cross out" or hide answer choices on multiple-choice questions that the test takers knows are incorrect, which can make online test taking very difficult.

### "Keep up with Canvas"

February 23, 2020

5.0

Most professors assign everything on Canvas. You can write journal entries within the platform, so you don't have to write and then reformat to turn stuff in. Larger pieces of work are easy enough to manage. My most recent professor prefers pdf files, so it's super easy to convert and submit. I also look at the syllabus regularly on Canvas, along with some short readings we are assigned. It's easy.

Pros

My school switched to Canvas from another platform. Canvas is much easier to navigate, and it seems like most professors prefer Canvas.

Cons

Canvas is a piece of cake to use, as long as the professor knows how to use it. A couple of my instructors have neglected to really learn Canvas, but that is true with any platform, I'm sure.

### "Good LMS"

June 14, 2019

4.0

Pros

I love most of the features of Canvas. SpeedGrader makes grading assignments easier and definitely allows me to finish more quickly. I can highlight, comment, and underline directly on the document. The best part is, if I make a mistake, I can just delete it! I also like viewing the Interactive Report to see how often my students are logging on and how much time they're spending on Canvas.

Cons

I gave a 4/5 because I think it would be great if there were more options for grading essays, like a plagiarism checker. This would help tremendously!

### "Useful tool"

September 25, 2021

5.0

Canvas is definitely a "must" app if you're into e-learning, or want to keep track of your teaching projects. It has been a very useful tool for me, and can't see myself switching to another app in the near future.

Pros

User friendly, is the best pro. When you have no time to adapt from other app this is critical. Nicely designed, colors and stuff. You can tell it was made by professionals.

Cons

People following up the courses have had issues with size of the lectures. They want to set it bigger. Also, they have complained about de sound playback controls, because the files can't be played faster.
