Pros It allows to built a course, to add lecture material (both printed and video), it has a built-in support for what and Zoom conferencing, it allows to quickly find and grade students submission and to leave a feedback right in the submitted PDF documents. There is an ability to create and analyze surveys. Cons It may be hard for a new user to get around, to find things. I wish discussions were searchable and more user friendly. I like how my classes are interactive tabs and how everything about the class is neat and organized. Another thing I am really enjoying is the mobile app. Blackboard never had an app and third party applications that would run BB were just terrible, but not any more with Canvas. Since this is my first year using Canvas I still have abit more to learn about the application. But so far everything is alot better in terms of user interactive and layout. Cons I think the only thing I don't like removal of college links. My university switched from Blackboard Collaborate to Canvas and the first things that went away were the list of helpful reference links. Review Source PK Phillip K. Unless you need lots of customization, you'll be fine. Pros I like to customize my course pages, and canvas makes this mostly easy with the web-based design tool. Cons It doesn't let you customize everything. The gradebook can be limited, in that it's frustrating to "distribute" grades using the "release grades" feature. Review Source SM Samuel M. Pros I used the canvas throughout my MBA at a distance. A very agile tool that helped me in my studies. The best was being able to take exams completely online without having to go to university. I believe it is better than the moodle platform, for example. Cons The layout of the platform could improve, make it more beautiful and with more colors. Navigation between modules is also not very intuitive, making it necessary to go back and forth between the menus several times. Review Source FS Farhan S. Would recommend it if you're looking for such a service. Pros Canvas is a great tool that I've used as a student and a grader. It's very easy to use and allows for great flexibility. Modules make a great way to show assignments, projects, readings and exams in order. It's also a great way to get grades out to students. Cons There's not much negatives accept for small little things. It would be nice if canvas notified students about grades after classes end or if they had dark mode. Review Source Nicholas F. It is very easy to share documents and keep track of the schedule. It is super nice that it lets you export the calendar to your mac or outlook calendar and I use that regularly Cons There is no way to "check off" something as you completed it. It is organized, clean in structure, and the layout is simple. Pros Canvas is incredibly easy to navigate, and as a student, I can do all of my assignment comfortably. I have used other software, but nothing come close to Canvas when it comes to an online education portal. I can see my grades, exams, discussion boards, and communicate with my fellow classmates and professors. Cons The only thing I don't like is that is hasn't been implemented everywhere. Canvas was best at keeping track of online discussions between 40+ students which can get messy and hard to keep of track of quickly. Turning assignments in was also easy and made the process of doing you work that much better and therefore, made homework and assignments a breeze. There is an easily accessible menu to the left of the home page that makes accessing classes, the calender, and email very simple. I prefer this software over any other when doing homework. Pros I've been using CANVAS all throughout college and really enjoy this software. Accessing classes is easier than ever and it's also very simple to communicate easily with your classmates and professors. Cons I do not really have any cons for this software.
