### "Canvas Is The Best!"

March 19, 2026

5.0

Overall, I have enjoyed using Canvas! I have interacted with the platform as instructor, TA, and student and each experience has been good.

Pros

Canvas is a user friendly platform for both instructors and students. It has a wide variety of ways to present and engage with educational materials, and is easy to transfer courses from year to year or even instructor to instructor.

Cons

Canvas is a bit of a heavy lift to get set up at first. Configuring the class modules and adapting for different educational needs (grad vs. undergrad; online vs. in-person) can be time consuming.

### "Canvas is the Best Online Classroom Option"

March 20, 2026

5.0

Canvas has been great. It has been the best online classroom platform I have used, and I have used many.

Pros

I love Canvas for my classes. I love the to-do dashboard. It helps keep me on track with assignments. Each teacher is able to customize their class as they best see fit which makes it a consistently unique experience.

Cons

Sometimes there are graded assignments that don't show up on the dashboard but are due weekly in the modules. I wish there was a way to assign certain pages to certain days like "remember this task" even if Canvas didn't automatically recognize it as an assignment.

### "Canvas - The Versatility LMS"

November 17, 2025

5.0

Overall, within the education field, canvas was a huge improvement from previous albums that I've used. Their versatility, the tracking, and the ability to organize your courses were simplified and very easy to do. It didn't feel clunky, it was very clean, and the user end had a positive experience and as a creator, I also shared that experience as well.

Pros

Canvas is an extremely versatile LMS because of its capabilities to host and create different files. What I like most about canvas is the ability to create pages that allowed you to link items from various resources. As long as that link stays stable, the user would be able to open and access that link. I also liked canvases capability to track several things about my users which include log in time, how long they were logged in, and if there were any required items to complete for assignments to complete, it would be able to track their progress and score which was essential for record keeping.

Cons

The main thing that I liked least about canvas was the creation of pages because it did require knowledge of coding in order to make the page appear and look the way you wanted it to. Thankfully I do have experience with coding so I was able to set up the page to look and function as I wanted it to. However, for some of my colleagues, they did have a harder time with that because of their lack of knowledge of coding and they were unable to achieve the kind of look that they wanted to do.

### "You're the Art on your Canvas."

November 12, 2025

5.0

My overall experience with Canvas has been great. Being a Student I use it almost every day. For me it has been a good experience. I would recommend all colleges/universities to use it.

Pros

What I like most about Canvas is it's ability to show and keep my schoolwork in one place and pick up where I left off. I as a student I use Canvas a lot and need it for my college work. It is really easy to use. It's really easy to navigate between courses and keeping them managed into one place.

Cons

I have had some issues with Canvas such as glitches, and bugs. However, I have never needed to use Customer Service for my needs. I believe it is still better than some of the other software's out there.

### "Canvas Works Like Magic!"

December 12, 2025

5.0

Canvas is an excellent Learning management system, user-friendly and Use it heavily in designing courses and integrating different learning tools. Our faculty like it very much.

Pros

Canvas is a learning management system that is user-friendly with a graphic interface easy to navigate. It can seamlessly integrate different types of learning and has multiple templates that help new users to design assignments, quizzes, and discussion questions.

Cons

The Canvas gradebook tool can be a bit complex and intimidating for new instructors. The HTML feature of Canvas is not robust enough for the designer who wants tobe more creative.

### "A Reliable and Organized LMS for the Classroom"

February 19, 2026

4.0

We use Canvas as our primary learning management system. It has been a very strong platform for both teachers and students.

Pros

Canvas allows classroom content to be extremely organized. Assignments, announcements, quizzes, and grades can all be housed in one place, which helps streamline communication and keeps students on track. The ability to schedule content and structure courses into clear modules has made it much easier to manage pacing throughout the semester.

Cons

I have ran into issues with quizzes transferring from one course to another, especially from one school year to another. It turned out our quizzes were somehow housed on a different server than everything else. This issue took almost 3 years to resolve.

### "User interface has space for improvement"

February 9, 2026

3.0

I see most schools use tit, unfortunately it seems outdated and again biggest issue is it's poor user interface.

Pros

Used it for school, one stop shop, all calls content was there, power points, tests, quiz, exams, eventual grading

Cons

User interface is quirly and hard to follow, seems to to be standardized, not sure if it was a problem by each Professor or simply the platform itself. Documents not always easy to find, uploading assignments was always an issue, had to submit emails to Professors as backups to ensure we'd be graded.

### "Canvas is Better than Blackboard "

June 27, 2025

5.0

I’ve been using Canvas for about 5 years, both as a teacher and as an Executive Director of a non-profit. Even though it’s obviously specifically for schools, it really has great features you can use for all kinds of projects.

Pros

It’s incredibly user-friendly and their support service is great. You can do everything from quizzes to links to full lesson plans on Canvas, and there are a ton of add-ons to make lessons more engaging and easy to use.

Cons

I seriously have nothing bad to say about Canvas. It integrates with seemingly everything and I use it for everything from classes to clubs.

### "Modern and Intuitive UI With Features Beyond a Modern Learning Management System"

March 29, 2026

5.0

Canvas has been a great learning management system for a student to use that allows you to easily view grades, submit assignments, and create goals to help students get a certain grade in any course.

Pros

Canvas is easily accessible both on the web and your phone. The UI is seamless and intuitive. Your school can even upload a logo on the sidebar to brand the platform when students are using it. Additionally, you can put in scores for any assignment in the grade book to see what your overall grade in the class would be before the instructor even enters a grade.

Cons

Canvas automatically marks assignments as late even if the course did not require any online submissions for the assignments. The instructor access could have better design options so that the instructor is asked if any submission is required for an assignment so it's clear if students must have something submitted or not.

### "Best in the business - all-encompassing LMS"

June 20, 2025

4.0

The best LMS tool I have used. As a teacher it was indispensable and very nifty with the amount of integrations, automations, and customization available. As a student, Canvas was easy to use, navigate and understand. I found it to be very functional and easy to upload my submissions using traditional file upload and Google Drive Sync.

Pros

Canvas was excellent as a student and as a teacher. The process of adding courses, assignments, learning objects, and embedded links was easy and satisfying. My school used Canvas as their primary hub for learning and external sourcing and it worked really well. Grades were easy to enter. Reviewing student submissions and adding comments was seamless. Our integration with Google Suite was a little tricky at times, but once you got the hang of it -- it was critical to our success. Overall, very happy with my experience using this platform.

Cons

I cannot really think of an overt negative feature of this program. There were of course bugs and concerning overlays, but for the majority of my time using it .. it was great.

### "Great for Schools!"

March 23, 2026

5.0

Overall, my experience is great. The pros greatly outweigh the cons of the platform and i definitely recommend using Canvas.

Pros

Canvas was awesome for our school. I have used it for 8+ years and it was incredibly helpful to both students and teachers. Assignment tracking, scoring, collaborating, and grading are all great features of Canvas.

Cons

When a student may want to review feedback on an assignment, sometimes depending on what device they're using, the feedback is hard to view.

### "Student Friendly - Course Management is Strong"

March 30, 2026

5.0

Overall, it was great for college, and I enjoyed using it while I was in school. I hope other schools would consider using Canvas to help students navigate the more digital prominent aspect for schools now.

Pros

Canvas looks good, clean and is very easy to use. I used it for the entirety of my college career at two different colleges. It allowed to easily manage my course work for each class and allowed for easy communication with my instructors. I didn't have to pay for the use of Canva... that cost was probably factored into each course cost. They are instances of bugs or issues every so often but usually was resolved with a day or less.

Cons

I remember a few cases where I had to contact customer support to help resolve an issue which wasn't the easiest but compared to other customer supports Canvas support was not as difficult as others.

### "I am surprised by how well this is going"

January 13, 2026

5.0

My website search visibility is now finally up. So I am happy we are no longer invisible on the web. I do not want to have to go into the nitty gritty details of marketing since I do not know anything about marketing. They actually answer the phone when I call which is more than I can say for our last agency.

Pros

I am writing this as my laptop is literally burning my legs and the fan sounds like it is going to scream itself hoarse, so I am writing this quickly. \[sensitive content hidden\] were able to somehow get the SEO stuff going, I am relieved I do not have to tell them about my business ten thousand times. The reports are showing up in my email and I do not have to worry about them which is perfect for me.

Cons

The development work (coding) took forever and moved much slower then I would have liked. That chocolate chip cookie they sent for holiday was a 6/10 at best and extremely dry compared to the other cookies. Communicating with the offshore people was a challenge due to all the different time zones.

Pros

It does the job. You're able to click between courses and see a calendar and due dates for everything.

Cons

### "Canvas is a great platform for students and educators alike"

May 29, 2025

5.0

Great! Summarizes all the things I need to submit, plus I get notifications while on the go if I do miss something.

Pros

Canvas has always been my go to platform by my university. Due to the pandemic they had to invest into a learning platform that would better supplement our learning needs online. After the pandemic, our university still continuously uses canvas and man was I glad they chose this platform. I can easily see my grades, my performance and how I can better improve my academic performance.

Cons

The UI I think needs a bit of a revamp to make it look more modern and minimalist. Although I think the university that I study in does most of the interface design.

### "Pretty good for what it is "

March 15, 2026

3.0

Overall canvas is better than other course management programs I would choose it again , bug fixes are always going to be needed with software

Pros

I like that canvas gives an overall list of things that you need to do instead of making you click each individual course

Cons

Canvas has a lot of bug issues so sometimes it won’t recognize an assignment has been submitted creating confusion for users and a lot of emails to the course instructor

### "Used from highschool to graduate school! So convenient"

December 2, 2025

5.0

Excellent. I've been using from highschool to my graduate school right now, and I remember when I first use Canvas in my highschool time. I always had to ask my grades to teachers, and can not check what I missed, If I missed the school, but since Canvas came out, it made my life so much convenient.

Pros

Organized, well structured to use for students. Easy to check grades, which is most important thing for students!

Cons

There is sometime updates and system check up, which brings whole canvas app down for few hours. Instructors understand those situations, but sometime it is bothering.

### "Canvas - An Easy to Use LMS"

December 7, 2025

5.0

I’ve been using it for over 10 years and I love it! It’s easy to use, and I can typically read through and grade assignments quickly.

Pros

I can easily edit and add assignments. I can also easily link assignments to the home pages of the courses I teach. I also like how easily I can upload worksheets—PDFs and Word Documents—to assignments.

Cons

Whenever assignments have different open, due, and/or close dates based on course sections, I have to assign it separately. I have to pick all 3 dates for all sections, even if they all have the same close date.

### "Seamless Teaching Experience with Canvas"

March 19, 2025

5.0

There is only one word to describe my overall experience with Canvas: Excellent. No more Excel sheets to track grades, no more complaints about missing announcements, seamless cloud synchronization, and a centralized learning system.

Pros

As someone actively involved in teaching, I really appreciate the clean interface and ease of use of Canvas. Whether it's organizing course materials, setting up assignments or quizzes, or making announcements, everything is streamlined and efficient. Additional features like cloud synchronization, discussion boards, and video embedding are incredibly helpful from both the instructor's and students' perspectives. One of the most lifesaver features of CANVAS is SpeedGrader. It allows me to quickly review submissions, leave comments, and provide detailed feedback, making the entire grading process hassle-free and efficient.

Cons

A common frustration with Canvas is its notification system. While it does notify students in the announcement section, the notification is small and easy to miss. Another minor inconvenience is that although SpeedGrader is a lifesaver, it tends to lag when handling larger class sizes. These are the only minor inconveniences that I least like about Canvas.

### "Canvas should be #1"

April 7, 2025

5.0

I LOVE Canvas. This is one of, if not THE best LMS available. I would and do highly recommend it. I've been on several different ones, but Canvas surpasses most in nearly every category.

Pros

It is up to date, makes it easy for the end user to access necessary tool bars, and has the ability to "play nicely" with other add-ons. It's a great LMS.

Cons

Sometimes the tools are not enough. For instance, there aren't enough fonts to add a personal touch to the messages. Also, formatting is not real easy. If you know coding, you can create your own format, but what is basic to Canvas is a little elementary.

### "Mediocre like most Classroom Management Systems"

April 24, 2025

3.0

It’s no better or worse than any of the other popular university classroom management systems. The biggest problem is professors not knowing how to use it, uploading things in the wrong spaces, and then confusing students. If the space were more standardized or had better user-training, this wouldn’t be a problem.

Pros

Canvas has a lot of tools and is always up and running. I’ve never had a technical problem with Canvas.

Cons

It’s too disorganized. In trying to do everything, it became discombobulated and not user friendly anymore. Students are usually much better at using Canvas than professors.

### "All in one great platform!"

March 2, 2025

5.0

As a graduate student who frequently uses Canvas, the platform serves as a centralized hub where I can access course materials, submit assignments, communicate with instructors, and track my progress—all in one place.

Pros

It is easy to navigate and intuitive to find course materials, assignments, and grades.

Cons

The discussion board feature—though functional—feels somewhat outdated compared to modern communication tools. A more intuitive and interactive design could enhance engagement among our students.
