June 29, 2026 5.0 My overall experience with Greater Giving, their staff and tech support has been phenomenal. The service has been a game changer and is worth its value. Pros Greater Giving is incredibly easy to use and teach. Volunteers pick up on the program quickly, sometimes day of an event and it all around lifts so much stress. System is very intuitive but appreciated the best practices intro. Also I have used customer service a number of times and they are easy to access, always helpful and can quickly answer my questions. Also had a great experience with our sales rep. Pros I have used our CRM system for the past seven years to manage our big event ticket sales and a separate company to manage our night of event (200 people). Using Greater Giving this year centralized everything and the system was so much more dynamic. One of the things I liked most was the incredible variety of reports you could generate before the event, for the event and afterwards. It was also great for generating receipts and invoices. Cons I have only one real complaint. I am used to being able to default to charging for credit card processing fees (giving the user the option to easily opt out). Greater Giving only allows you to let the user Opt In. Have seen far less participation as a result. I wish it was different but not a huge issue. February 2, 2024 2.0 Overall, the company offers a product that can be very useful, but if you have a small fundraising team who doesn't design websites and have a lot of experience with backend website management, it is not the best unless you use it regularly and invest the time into learning it. Pros Greater Giving offers affordable options for fundraising event software, and makes it easy for event attendees to register and save their credit card information to make check-in process quicker. Cons The event software is extremely hard to use, and not intuitive unless you have lots of website experience. For one example, if you add a logo for a sponsor to add to the event landing page, it doesn't say that it has to be specific format. A lot of guessing and calls to customer service. They do have tutorials, but several are outdated, so you waste time watching and realize you need to call customer support anyway. You can easily just use it on a surface level but the more you use more you will enjoy the software. It does take training and work to input information but once you get a hang of it will help your event run smoothly. Pros Greater Giving is an excellent software that assists with all of your event planning needs: tracking, invitations, silent auction, etc. If you are hosting a large silent auction this software is the best bang for your buck. The great thing about this sofware is that it also stores all your previous information as far as guest list, attendees, those who have made purchases of from your silent auction and safely stores personal information. Cons One hiccup we have encountered with the software is that it can only be tied to one bank account that we have found. Our organization uses seperate bank accounts for different events and have a few different facets of our organization so different programs need to stay in their own field. March 12, 2024 5.0 Our overall experience has been wonderful. Pros Greater Giving is pretty great. We have used it for a large annual fundraising event for several years. It helps keep all attendees and donors organized, helps us run night-of-event tasks smoothly (check in, check out, charging cards, etc). My favorite part is that volunteers who work the event are able to be trained in less than five minutes to check in attendees, enter sale, and check out attendees. Extremely user friendly. Cons There is a cost, but there would be a cost with any system used to accept credit cards. The added benefit of using Greater Giving to run the event has allowed us to grow our fundraiser, and this year we set a record for the event, in terms of number of attendees as well as funds raised. " July 14, 2023 5.0 Pros Like many non-profits, we transitioned to an online platform during COVID but are now 'hybrid' with an online silent auction but live in person event. I was not on the team that selected GG for our first COVID/online event, but it was a wise choice. Honestly, I only use it now for the 4-5 months leading up to our annual event so there's always a little bit of time relearning things which have slipped from memory! It can be tricky to remember all of the operational details when you're not using it on a routine basis. As the title of my review says tho, for the times when operations aren't intuitive, customer service is always VERY helpful and gets me back on track in short order. I am an auction consultant and currently use GG at 5 non-profits and I’m getting ready to add another one. Pros Integration of Greater Giving was very user friendly and met all our needs. Cons The only draw back is when a donor donates more than one of an item for an auction and it will be placed in multiple packages. I have to enter multiple items. You can’t copy and use separately. October 18, 2016 5.0 I sourced Greater Giving back in 2010 when we were producing our first Gala. I wanted software that would easily keep track of people and items. The ability to create a website was a bonus! Greater Giving performed like a champ before, during and after the event. I also began using the website capabilities for other events/fundraisers. The sites are pretty easy to set up and maintain. When I have needed more help, customer support is always there. They were really there for me at our second gala when the power went out. We had just finished the silent auction and the guests were seated for dinner and being served when the power went out. We were able to process all the silent auction items as we worked from the software and not the cloud. We decided not to have the live auction or fund a need. Instead, Greater Giving assisted us in creating an online auction and worked with us every step of the way. Their expertise and great products helped to save what could have been a disaster. Hospice East Bay has about 4 events a year where Greater Giving is utilized. As long as I am the Development Associate for this organization, we will be continuing our relationship with Greater Giving! Pros Easy to use. Great customer support. Full reporting capabilities. Easy customization. Cons When the website gets updated and things move around or there are different ways to do them. No manual updates when that happens. Review Source TG Tracy G. I know this sounds harsh but it was not a match, we needed something simpler moving forward. Pros Very detailed in nature, this is great for a larger company that has the capacity to look through everything and be incredibly detailed. There are many features we did not use. Cons Because it was so detailed, I would get frustrated at times. In my brain, having to activate one switch on a completely different page and category was difficult for me to understand. The thermometer view that can be shown during events to capture live donations is better than any others and that alone usually convinces my clients to use Greater Giving. Cons Greater Giving is not as affordable as other platforms and if my clients decide not to use it, it is usually because of the price - specifically because of the online auction add on. Greater Giving really corners the market but I wish it was less expensive so I could more fully recommend it to non-profits with less resources and smaller budgets. Review Source CF Corine F. We were then able to export the data into our donor software. It simplified our process for the auction, quite simply. Pros We have used this software for our gala for many years. I inherited it and began using it and found the transition to be pretty smooth. I really like it for assigning bidders to tables and to individuals and for tracking auction donations and values. Cons My least favorite thing was the lack of online bidding software but I believe they now have that too. We are not doing our gala anymore so we were unable to try that feature. It is extensive having many features, reports and different ways of going about getting things done. They are PCI compliant which takes away worry about security and adds value to your overall event. Whether you are a small shop or large, any nonprofit can use it with a little bit of training, some practice and time. It is cost effective and adds value to our events. It is amazing that anyone from volunteer to staff can reach out to tech support. I like that it is web based and that you can have multiple events simultaneously. Also the capability to have different permissions for each user including multiple account admin helps s multi department development team like ours. Relatively speaking the mobile bidding works easily. Cons The "join me"feature is still new and we haven't been able to master it's use yet. The website capability is great but requires a little extra training. However the tech support is excellent with an almost 12 hour a day call hour. If the tech can't answer the question they get back to you. Most often though they will walk you through a step. I personally began using the software in 2012 and have grown very fond of the product. Every year I talk with customer service and say I wish the software could do "xyz" and they say "that is in the works". The next year I see the improvements. My biggest complaint is the software takes some time to learn. We are a volunteer organization and it can be difficult to have people learn the software in the time frame needed. That being said, those of us who are actively involved are very knowledgeable and impressed with the many features the software offers. I believe a permanent, year round organization would quickly get immersed in the software and use it to the fullest intent. I am impressed with all the reporting and appreciated the many ways you can filter the data and export the data. The ease of being able to pull donors, donations and sponsors from one event to the next has been a huge benefit for us and eliminated many hours of work. In reality, I do not feel the software could be easier I just believe we are in a difficult position because of ever changing volunteers. Review Source LB Lisa B.
