### "Easy to use"

July 22, 2021

4.0

In addition to loving the platform, we love the organization! Customer support is awesome!

Pros

We love how easy it is to create a fundraising campaign. Our users find it easy to customize their personal fundraising pages and share with friends and family.

Cons

Occasionally we find that it is not as feature rich as we would like, but Classy support is always there to suggest a work around and we prefer an easy to use platform to one with all the complexities that make it hard to use.

Switched from

[Blackbaud TeamRaiser](https://www.capterra.com/p/198639/Blackbaud-TeamRaiser/)

We switched from TeamRaiser because we were looking for an easier to use platform for our volunteer fundraiser and a simpler way for staff to set up fundraisers. We definitely accomplished these goals.

### "Classy - an excellent solution for robust fundraising programs."

August 4, 2022

5.0

Pros

Classy is very easy to use, from the moment it is set up. Implementation was relatively straightforward, and had a dedicated Classy representative to walk us through the process. Upon set up, we were able to immediately reap the benefits of the platform, and the Support - from documentation, to regular training webinars, to the assigned Client Success Manager has been very useful.

Cons

There are certain design features/elements that I wish had more customization, especially within the crowdfunding and peer-to-peer campaigns and email acknowledgement templates.

Reason for choosing GoFundMe Pro

We chose Classy because it seemed like the best fit for our organization, given our needs, existing and planned tech stack, and cost in comparison to some of the other frontrunner fundraising solution options.

### "Not all it's cracked up to be"

January 16, 2026

3.0

We are pretty frustrated. The support folks are doing their best, but the fact that you cannot speak to someone in real time is bananas. I have spent hours in back and forth emails with someone when we could have hopped on the phone for 15 minutes with me sharing my screen and we'd be done.

Pros

This product has a lot of good features and does seem to provide a good experience for donors, which is meaningful.

Cons

Where to begin? 1. There is no live phone support - no training package that you can pay for to solve problems after the initial setup of your first campaign. 2. It's clear that the absorption of Classy has resulted in a kind of Frankenstein of products, with events linked to campaigns in a really confusing way ("what is this page and how did I get here? and also, how to I find it again?"). 3. The events displays are very flawed - the thermometer lists donor names but they don't scroll, and when \[sensitive content hidden\] buys a sponsorship for ABC Company, the name that shows up is \[sensitive content hidden\]. The Supporters list has the same problem. In 2026, when we have been doing events for decades, having an accurate real-time giving thermometer at a fundraiser seems like a basic function of a fundraising platform, but you can't get it here. 4. There is no credit card swiper to take in-the-moment donations. They offer a Stripe device to capture credit card info when guests check in. This can be very useful if you hold auctions where attendees end up with things in a "cart" so you can process payments after the event ends. We have no use for this device since we don't do auctions. GiveSmart had a smartphone attachment that would allow for in-person donation support. As it currently stands, our options are to 1) sit with someone while they do a text to donate or 2) open up the donation page for the event and manually enter the person's credit card info. Again, a swiper to capture impulse donations are offered by other platforms. Not this one. 5) Integration with Salesforce: This is pretty good and we are grateful to have it, in spite of the usual duplicate record creation that can happen. One thing we discovered, though, is that gifts made through individual fundraising pages, even if they are linked to a specific event, go into Salesforce separate from the event. For example, I did a test fundraising page for Giving Tuesday and the two gifts I collected show up in Salesforce under \[sensitive content hidden\] instead of GivingTuesday. If we do a big push for fundraising pages in the future, we will need to either develop a new tracking system or manually move the opportunities over one at a time so they are associated with the event.

Reason for choosing GoFundMe Pro

Promised features and "intelligence" - this sounded like it might work for us, especially to grow our recurring giving.

Switched from

[GiveSmart](https://www.capterra.com/p/130794/GiveSmart/)

We found a lot of the features of GiveSmart were a bit stale. One thing we especially disliked was that the event display with the giving thermometer only listed donors alphabetically, not showing the most recent gifts as they came in, so you'd have someone in the room make a $5,000 gift but if their name started with S, we could be waiting a long time to see their name on screen while Susan Abbott, who had given $25 months ago would get prime billing.

Response from Classy

January 29, 2026

Thank you for the honest and detailed feedback. We’re glad the donor experience and features are working well, and we hear your frustration, especially around the lack of real-time support and the time lost resolving issues over email. Your comments on product complexity, event functionality, in-person giving, and Salesforce tracking are appreciated and being shared with our teams. While this doesn’t change your experience, please know the feedback is taken seriously and helps guide where we need to improve.

### "Good fundraising platform"

November 16, 2021

4.0

Pros

Having a Peer-to-peer and crowd funding options is a nice tool to have under our belt.

Cons

The transaction fees are too high. We have several donors that call us and mail us checks because, when they cover the fees for their $1,000+ donations, takes away from the money they have set aside for our cause. We wish the fees were a little lower for small charities like ours. We are already paying to have the software (which is not cheap) and on top of that we need to give from the donations.

### "Fantastic at First, But the GoFundMe Merger Stalled Innovation—Now We’re Looking Elsewhere"

February 6, 2025

3.0

Great for the first few years. Not so great now. We're looking to see what else is out there that might support our needs better in the future.

Pros

When we moved to Classy in 2018, we were so excited for a better donor user experience and better backend use. The ease of setting up recurring gifts and managing them was great. Crowdfunding and P2P Fundraising was also a big win for us. But overall, it was the fantastic frontend UI and a great relationship with our account rep.

Cons

Ever since being merged into gofundme, the quality of the product and the promised innovation have slowed to a crawl. Things we have been asking about for years and have been promised for years have gone unfinished. There are constantly issues around events where we have to keep reaching out to support to fix, rather than being able to fix them ourselves. The fact that the email receipt comes from Classy rather than being setup to come directly from our organizational email causes receipts to go to donor's junk email creating a terrible experience for them. We moved from Blackbaud and even though it was a terrible ui setup and terrible backend setup, we could at least sell swag at events and have it tracked directly in our CRM. We've been waiting on this feature from classy for a long time. The Salesforce integration is incredibly wonky. Not using best practices there. We have a good account rep again, but for a long stretch, we were just transferred from person, to person, to person who each time had done no research on us as a customer, we kept wasting our time to get them up to speed, only to be told over and over that the things we were hoping to see in platform had been delayed. I thought this merger with gofundme would increase innovation, but it's slowed it to an absolute crawl.

### "Classy is Classy"

November 28, 2022

5.0

Team Classy has been the most amazing customer service and team to work with. Responsive right away, always available, and the training through their library or in-person is second-to-none and done with excellence.

Pros

Classy is the easiest and by far most customizable CRM software that we have used. It is ready to go right away to start to build and create campaigns. The look is great and it is easy for the end-user to use as well. It is also very multi-functional in using the platform for donations, crowdfunding, peer-to-peer or ticketed events. All in one platform and delivers.

Cons

The current split of Classy and Classy Live (live event/auction) side of things is the biggest downside and separate but not a deal-breaker. They work together well.

### "Simple Sharp Peer2Peer Fundraising Website"

April 26, 2022

5.0

Classy allows us to run multiple similar events across Canada with the same professional quality of user experience and administrative management. When those two things are easier, we can focus on our priorities like recruiting participants and ensuring a quality event. We have had increased participation since using Classy and having measurably fewer user problems means having more returning participants year after year.

Pros

Ease of making a personalized website that matches our brand and has all the functionality that we need. Our participants find it easy to navigate and use which is so important when you are asking people to voluntarily fundraise for your cause.

Cons

I wish there was a way to highlight our sponsor logos in an upfront way so that participants and website visitors see them without it impeding their ease and ability to find information relevant to them. A sidebar or something?

### "I'd be lost without Classy for our peer-to-peer fundraising campaigns!"

April 15, 2021

5.0

Overall, Classy has enabled us to do more with fewer staff members and has increased our donations. We also have seen an overwhelming amount of donors (74%!) cover a portion of fees, so we keep more of our contributions. Customer Service is easy via chat and A++ every time - everyone is so nice and extra helpful! I highly recommend Classy as a fundraising platform.

Pros

Classy was SO easy to launch, customize and implement for both our donation page and our fundraising campaigns. Their interface is simple and intuitive, and they are constantly innovating new features and functions. It was also easy for our schools to set up their own campaigns. We have saved a ton of hours using Classy for our platform. We no longer have to manually do tasks that are done automatically like: send donor recognition emails, fraud management, import donor data to our email platform, offer employer matching gifts, in honor of donation gifts...

Cons

The cost is a bit prohibitive, but we were able to budget it for it once we compared Classy to other platforms and calculated the time we would save on their platform. Two big issues I have is that I need to download two reports to get all the accounting data for campaigns, and donor-paid fees show up in the fundraising total, which is misleading and has long been a user complaint.

Reason for choosing GoFundMe Pro

I researched about 8 other similar platforms. Classy had more features and integration than other products. We were also already using Stripe, and we liked that they had a payment platform that we already used and trusted.

### "The best fundraising platform for our needs"

March 20, 2019

5.0

We have been using Classy for many years now, and have raised tens of thousands of dollars from our growing community of donors. Classy is incredibly easy to use, and has amazing support, even though we're on a completely different time zone to the support team! The peer to peer campaigns, which we use at least once a year, are super straightforward and look great even if you don't know what you're doing or could never dream of creating something from scratch. We also shopped around and truly found that Classy offers the most competitive rates for what we need. Thanks!

Pros

Easy to use, and really prompt customer service.

Cons

Nothing! We're really happy with our use of Classy. I'm sure there's more we could do to make the most of all the platform has to offer but right now we're meeting all our needs.

### "Simple, modern platform that makes processing online gifts a breeze!"

February 21, 2019

5.0

Pros

We had been using Classy for a few years and then decided to switch to a different platform. That was a HUGE mistake. We ended up switching almost immediately (even paying for two platforms at once). We love Classy's modern design for it's fundraising and event pages. We love how simple it is to edit the design of these pages and doesn't require any knowledge of HTML or really graphic design experience. The best part of Classy is how smooth the integration is with Salesforce. While we have had some issues with certain data not being pushed in, the team is always responsive in trying to correct the error. The chat function is especially useful when I have small questions to ask. Additionally, I enjoy their blog posts and resource emails and can always count on their site to have resources to download for all our communication and fundraising needs. Overall we have had a great experience using Classy and will continue to use their platform to manage our online giving.

Cons

We do wish there was a bit more flexibility in the kinds of things we can edit when designing campaigns but it gets the job done well as is. For example, we often wish to customize certain colors on one button vs. a theme but are unable to do so. Another small con is that we have donors who sometimes mail in their credit card information to us but with no email address. This means we have to use an email associated with our organization, which sometimes causes classy to join or replace users who have had that email associated with their record as well. This is just the nature of basing users off email addresses as well as our fault for not indicating that we need a donors email to process online gifts. This is usually pretty simple to fix.

### "Classy makes fundraising easy!"

November 1, 2022

5.0

Pros

While I can spend all day talking about how wonderful the software is in its ease of use, aesthetic, and features, the most amazing part of Classy is the customer support. Every time I have a question, I am able to get an answer from the chat in minutes, and the support specialist is able to get me an answer or solution almost immediately.

Cons

I truly can't think of anything I dislike, but I will say that if there is ever something you can think of that will improve the platform, you can let a Classy representative know and they may be able to find a comparable solution for you.

November 30, 2021

5.0

Pros

The ability to peer-to-peer fundraise, crowdfundraise, and create multiple branded beautiful campaigns are a huge selling point! Everything syncs to your CRM and we gained over 100 new donors in our first Classy campaign.

Cons

Classy is fairly expensive, so make sure to do the math to see how many of your donors are giving online or who are ready to mobilize in digital giving before purchasing. Peer-to-peer has an incredible reach but requires a lot of advanced prep to really be effective.

### "Easy to use for donors and organizations, seamless integration, and a helpful support team! "

February 21, 2019

4.0

The integration with Salesforce has been a big win for us. We've more than doubled our funding while cutting our manual data entry time in half.

Pros

We made the switch to Classy from another fundraising platform in October 2018. The year prior, from October to December, we raised about $80,000. This year we raised more than double that, and I know that a big reason for that is because of Classy. The site is much easier to use for donors but it also is more aesthetically pleasing. It invites people in and engages them. Creating a page that transitions seamlessly from our own website was very easy to do with Classy. Page setup is user-friendly and I like that you can see the changes that you are making in real time, instead of having to make a change, save it, then go preview it, then go back and change it again (which is what we had to do on our old platform). Classy customer service has been very helpful as well. They are responsive and knowledgeable, and finding answers to my questions, or solutions to my problems, has been simple and pleasant. We have integrated Classy with our Salesforce database, which is a huge plus for us. There were some kinks but their support team was very helpful. Though more expensive that our former platform, I feel that the investment was definitely worth it.

Cons

The price is significantly higher than the platform we used before, both in annual costs and in transaction fees. We also need volunteer registration functionality, which Classy doesn't provide, so we do still have to use our old platform for that piece.

### "Mixed feelings"

December 13, 2017

4.0

Pros

\- allows several tiers of fundraising with no additional cost (campaign-->teams-->individual fundraisers) - includes events, which is a simple platform (and it should be simple! just tickets!) - upfront cost is more, but fee for % of donation is less than competitors - customer service has been mostly polite and friendly; it's also nice to occasionally talk to the same person when a problem presents itself multiple times in a day, so I don't have to get someone new up to speed. - chat for customer service is convenient, as I can keep working on other things as I wait for answers.

Cons

\- We constantly have fundraisers confused on how to set up their page. This has been a huge pain point. - In fairness, this is true with any platform: the fee for % of donation on TOP of the Paypal fee is painful. This is something that didn't occur to us when we started. Plus a monthly fee from Paypal to take the Classy donations. - Customer service hasn't been particularly quick to pick up on problems, and we haven't been completely satisfied with some answers. We've been told on two different occasions that there's a "glitch" and to ignore something, instead of presenting a solution, or tell us the only solution is to refund a donation and ask the donor to re-donate.

### "Great for fundraising in teams and has user-friendly reports"

February 21, 2019

5.0

Allows us to more easily track our fundraising of individuals and teams and employ simultaneous campaigns.

Pros

Classy is a great platform for our Dance Marathon because we are able to have both individual fundraisers and teams, adding an extra element of camaraderie during our event! Additionally, the versatility of the different campaign types for our other initiatives is super helpful, too. Classy has also redone their reporting system, making it much more dynamic and user friendly. Classy support is generally helpful, too! Overall, my experience with Classy has been positive and would definitely recommend!

Cons

### "I absolutely LOVE Classy!"

September 12, 2018

5.0

Pros

Classy is a GREAT tool for fundraisers who need customized donation pages. Working with Classy is SO easy and the templates that they have are wonderful. I absolutely love how you can further customize the templates to match your branding or even your donation form needs. Not every tool is as flexible or robust as Classy. Plus, their customer support is incredible.

Cons

When you initially connect with someone from Classy, it's obvious that you're working with someone from their sales team. They do call and email often, so if you don't want to use their service I highly recommend being upfront and stating that. Other than that, I loved it!

### "Centralized & Resourceful"

February 21, 2019

4.0

Pros

Classy is such a helpful tool for our nonprofit because the make fundraising centralized. You can set up events, peer to peer fundraisers, crowd funding, etc. We are still figuring out how to best use these different tools for our nonprofit, but Classy has a ton of resources to help with that too. I think the resources Classy offers is one of the things I like most about them. If I ever have a question, I just go there and there is usually a resource available.

Cons

It is hard to tell your donors how much they should pay to cover fees because WePay uses a set approach and Classy uses a percentage. It would be helpful if they could agree.

### "Robust service with helpful integrations"

November 18, 2021

4.0

Pros

Our nonprofit team has really appreciated Classy's clean user interface and its many robust native integrations. Despite other similar options, we are always inclined to use Classy as it works cleanly with our existing systems such as Salesforce, minimizing busy work for data entry and donor management. Their support team is highly accessible and have been a really helpful resource for our team to maximize usefulness of our campaigns.

Cons

While the plug-and-play setup can be very helpful for quick campaign creation, for some campaigns, customization options are limited. Their in-house payment processor Classy Pay also has some fees which were relatively hidden which has been disappointing, but it is generally a very useful software.

### "Best investment we made as a small non-profit"

February 21, 2019

5.0

Classy has helped us diversify our donor base, it has helped us build and brand a monthly donor program, and it has helped us increase our online fundraising substantially.

Pros

Classy has been a game changer for us here at The Launch Pad. It felt like a scary investment because we are a very small non-profit and it can be risky to spend money on things other than programming. However, Classy helped us reach a broader audience, it engaged younger families in what we do, and it gave us a much more professional look. Classy is user friendly, it communicates to our donor database so our Salesforce account stays up to date, it sends receipts automatically, and as a team of only 3 people serving 100s of teens a month, that helps us out so much. We are classy customers for life!

Cons

The only complaint I have is that I wish we could switch between campaign templates without having to rebuild the design. It's not a huge ordeal, that would just make it a little more efficient.

### "Classy is not for Nonprofits "

October 31, 2018

3.0

We were sold to product for our donation platform, however once we signed the contract we found out that the product does not track Google E-commerce analytics, and its also does not allow donors to pick multiple funds. They did not allow us to cancel the contract even though this product was not a good fit for our organization and they sales team misrepresented the capacities to the product. We will never use Classy again, we paid annual contract and did not implement it at all.

Pros

Classy is a good alternative tool for the Peer to Peer fundraising platform, however they are marketing the product as a donation platform which could be problematic for nonprofits.

Cons

You cannot give your donors the option to pick multiple funds, its does not have capacity to to track Google E-commerce. The sales team never discloses this to you, and once your locked in the contract they will not let you get out even though the product is not a good fit for the organization.
