Pros

The software is intuitive, easy to navigate and user friendly. The room-by-room checklist allows users to tailor surveys to the specific needs at each site. This customization affords surveyors the ability to reduce time completing the surveys and more time actually reviewing the site. The program also has great flexibility for access. Surveyors can perform the survey on their cell phones, tablet/laptop, or computer. With cloud-based storage, surveyors can pre-build surveys in the office and complete on-site by accessing through mobile devices. Using mobile devices has increased efficiency by allowing completion of the survey as moving through the facility. With further benefit of reducing errors or missed citations by compiling during the survey instead of all at once at the end. Ultimately, this increased efficiency has afforded more time to provide technical assistance to the client. Therefore, assisting efforts to reduce compliance issues.

Cons

Overall, I have nothing negative to say about Outlier or the SansWrite X software. As with any software, there can be user errors that cause "glitches" but those are quickly remedied.

Pros

SansWrite X is exceptionally easy to use and to train users to work with. The Room-by-Room checklists allow you to easily customize your survey templates dynamically depending on your momentary need. The application can be utilized whether online or offline and synchronization with the database is seamless, requiring no additional work by the end user. The user interface is very well designed and capitalizes on a common sense workflow. Outlier is very responsive and implements change requests quickly and accurately.

Cons

There are no aspects of this software or my interactions with Outlier that I would describe negatively.

This program has been a great boost for productivity, and was a blessing when the offices had to close due to the pandemic, because working remotely became a cinch with the user portal. It has created an environment where most of my daily work is now digital, so those concerned with an environmental footprint can be happy to note that the reduction in the use of paper for printing and processing inspection reports.

Pros

This software has been instrumental in cutting down time my employees spend writing inspection reports. We began implementation of the user portal over the summer, and it's been a great experience so far. We can issue our reports right out to the providers and in turn they submit their corrective actions directly to us. It has been a great time saver and has increased productivity across the board. When there are glitches, the customer service representatives are quick to diagnose the issue and resolve the problem. I have had nothing but friendly interaction on the phone and have been beyond happy with the outcome of every conversation.

Cons

Any software has its drawbacks and limitations, and when this software is working smoothly, it's great. The only issue we've had is that sometimes if there is user error in entering information, the inspection can become "stuck." Fortunately, as stated earlier, the customer service team can quickly address and correct these issues when they arise.

It is an affordable option for small Health Departments that are looking to provide up to date information on inspections to the public and implement computer inspection. The program is easy to use and requires little training for field staff to get up and running. I would recommend SansWrite to other small health departments for its ease of use and great customer service.

Pros

SansWrite 7 is very easy to use and cost effective. We have a hosted site now, we upgraded last year from the standalone license. The program is easy for the field inspector to use and reminds them to visit each section of the code prior to printing or saving. The forms are fairly easy to manipulate if needed. The customer service is great! The online portal is easy to use for the Program manager and the reports export into excel or csv.

Cons

All form development is an extra charge, or the user can develop the forms from their basic template, which we were able to do with some training, but not the most ideal option if you do not have an IT department.

Highly recommend.

Pros

We have utilized SansWrite since 2007 on a daily basis to conduct regulated facility sanitation inspections. Well designed software which drastically increases inspector productivity. We have investigated the competition in depth and have resolved to continue with SansWrite.

Cons

We have yet to experience any negative issues with this software.
