Sometimes helping a customer requires overlap between the programs and RGP seems to have an efficient way of navigating it. I appreciate that RGP has features that allow for double checking yourself. Sometimes the double checking shows that you missed something critical and without the double check you would have forgot and probably created a larger headache in the future. Finally, the audible sounds that RGP makes when customers check-in to the facility is a valuable asset. I do not always have time to be staring at the check-in screen. Audible cues are a little more passive and helpful in certain scenarios. Cons Disclaimer: I do not exactly have a solution to this problem so please take the complaints with a grain of salt. First, booking groups in RGP is a nightmare. It's the least intuitive aspect of RGP. Most groups do not have an exact headcount of participants when they schedule a group session. As a result, the # of participants is outside the booking's parameter and now I am forced to jump through multiple windows and prompts to add individuals to the group. This is bad enough but even worse when I have to do this right before or during the time the group session should be starting. In my (plebeian) opinion, the RGP group book/calendar resources are bad enough that I would rather be using an entirely different program than to continue using the RGP calendar and booking features. Managing groups at climbing gyms can certainly be cumbersome. This is the reason we developed the Event Document System (EDS) feature last year. EDS is intended to simplify group and event management at busy gyms. If you're using EDS, please reach out to support@rockgympro.com or give us a call and we'll take a look at your specific configuration and hopefully find a way to streamline your group management processes. I have no major complaints and no reason to search for alternatives. Pros It is extremely user friendly, modifications are easy, and I’ve personally never had any crashes or issues while using it. Cons Placement of buttons isn’t always intuitive. Once I’ve familiarized myself with the layout, it’s not much of an issue, but I wish I could have more layout control. It includes everything you could possibly need for a gym, and we never need to use any other software. Everything is all in one place, and it’s very convenient. Pros I think my favorite thing about Rock Gym Pro is how organized everything is. I think the different tabs (POS, date entry, check in, calendar) make the flow of helping customers a lot faster and more efficient. It’s also nice that it’s very difficult to make mistakes. For instance if you forget to do something RGP won’t let you continue or will at least let you know that something is wrong. Cons Something that I struggled with in RGP was how long it took me to learn how to do everything. Despite its organization, there are so many buttons and options it can take a long time to learn how to use it. My least favorite thing about it though is that sometimes customers waivers or belay certifications will just be completely lost. We then have to have them redo waivers or belay checks, which sometimes frustrates customers.
