Teachers can easily lock class pages until previous requirements have been met. Cons Like every LMS, one of Schoology's flaws is the inability to establish a deeper page/course hierarchy. Pros I like that it is easy to get into and store things. It is not only easy for teachers but students and parents. You can acess grades, assigments, missing work Cons Sometimes it goes down so that would be the only issue that I see with it. Other then that it is a great program. Pros Most parts are pretty intuitive, but for slower learners, it can seem like a pretty big learning curve. Customer service is fantastic. I most flipped lessons, videos, classroom announcements and homework for the night. I can also attach homework worksheets or notes that were given in class that day. Layout looks familiar to students, so its use is intuitive to them. Scoring with a rubric is amazingly simple. June 19, 2017 5.0 Pros Ease of use, continual upgrades, available both in web and app version, LTI compliant, robust grading features such as rubrics and customizable grading scales, mastery grading features...The App, in particular, is very easy to grade on, as it allows for easy inking on student submissions. It has also been used that students can submit work on their phones if their regular laptops are not working. Cons The calendar feature is relatively weak. Pros I like how I am able to use the free version since I do not have a lot of students, yet. I like being able to have kept my curriculum under resources. Also, being able to assign assignments to certain students is a bonus since not all my students need to review certain skills tested on the ACT. Furthermore, I was able to roll content forward year to year. Pros Easy to use; teachers can pre-load and keep courses, make shells that they carry over; this has great integration with Quizlet and navigation is user-friendly. Also, access to the other courses and ebooks/articles was great to further my own learning. Teachers can share courses...it is awesome. Also you can view all of your children’s progress if you have more than one attending that particular school. I like that if your child is having trouble in a subject you will know ahead of time by assessing their grades and averages through this app. Overall, I have had a great experience! I recommend it to parents that want to keep track of how well their children are doing in school. Pros I love that it gives you your child’s test grades as soon as the teacher uploads them. I like how you are able to determine if you want to use a course or group based on what you are trying to accomplish. Not only is this an LMS it can also be used for clubs or things of that nature. Cons The app and the web version do not always work the same. They do not sync with your Active Diretory in order to have it so when you add an account to AD it would then sync with Schoology instead of having to then also add an account to schooolgy. Schoology provided a flexible way to work without loosing papers or organizing papers by subjects to turn in to teachers. Pros Schoology was easy to use to turn in homework for my children during COVID\_19 pandemic. We had to transition from another platform Cons Navigating fatures can be improved. However, I have learned to appreciate the software as it allow students to be honest with themselves. Getting a question wrong is a way to motivate students to learn from their mistakes and Schoology does a great job with that. Pros My favorite feature of Schoology has to be the randomized question function. This allow for less cheating in the classroom so teachers/professors are able to where the students are in the class (behind/ahead/on track, etc.) Cons My least favorite feature is how it is uneasy on the eyes. There is too much information and it can be quite disorganized sometimes. This causes confusion on where one function is from another. Being in Minnesota, Schoology allowed me to feel prepared for adverse weather conditions and that my students and families would be able to access assignments and materials. Cons I'm curious if the software could be made more accessible to students with disabilities, maybe with just visual supports rather than written text for assignments, links, etc. I feel that students have a difficult time navigating Schoology on their own and am curious if updated versions would be more accessible.
