### "Schoology supports students, families, and teachers"

July 11, 2020

5.0

Pros

Schoology is a robust yet flexible tool that helps teachers provide content, instruction and feedback to students and families. It is highly customizable and allows teachers to integrate most any other digital tool to meet the diverse needs of learners. Schoology can be used in basic to deeply developed ways. One of my favorite features is the ability to save and build content and items from course to course. You are able to save time and build stronger learning experiences as your skills and created items grow.

Cons

The biggest challenge with Schoology is the shear volume of customizable features and functions. The basics are relatively easy to learn, but it does take time to play and learn the full capabilities this product has to offer.

Reason for choosing Schoology

The overall flexibility, robust tools, and collaborative structure.

### "Flexible, fully-featured and fun!"

June 15, 2018

5.0

Schoology works best for a whole school setting where different ability levels of instructors and learners will be accessing the platform. Especially suited to an establishment which intends to develop a blended learning and learning self-paced learning approach outside of the classroom. A school which confidently uses mobile apps and digital technologies will find Schoology a healthy addition to their collection of digital tools.

Pros

+A huge community of teachers and learners looking to sharing their experience and support one another in the usage of the platform. +A recognisable user interface which makes the learning curve for new users simple and intuitive. +Superb flexibility to create bespoke learning environments for teachers and learners.

Cons

\- Some limitation of iframe embed due to the HTTPS protocol requirement. Use of HTML code editor often strips the inclusion of more advanced features such as Java functions. - Limitation toe badge and gamification of learning. - LTI integration not fully functional, relying on apps developers to plug the gaps.

### "Schoology is a great LMS!"

April 10, 2018

5.0

Pros

Because it looks and feels like Facebook, our students and teachers don't have issues learning how to use it. It is simple and straightforward and one of the best on the market. Love the chat feature for admins. They provide immediate help when I get into a bind.

Cons

It goes down more than we'd like but that is the nature of technology. Whenever it happens they keep their status page updated so we know what's going on.

### "Excellent LMS for Middle School"

July 13, 2020

5.0

I enjoy using Schoology to provide resources for my students to use both in the classroom and outside. It is fairly easy to use, but can sometimes be time-consuming. The integration with G Suite is beneficial with reducing the time needed to edit content in multiple classes. It is easy for students to navigate and undersatnd.

Pros

I like the ease with which students can navigate the platform and the way that it houses everything that students use. I also like the ability to collaborate with colleagues to create activities/assessments together and share then easily with each other. I also like that it enables you to provide feedback for students on assignments and communicate directly with students.

Cons

There are some features (feedback for the new assessments, reporting features for the gradebook) that are missing that would be really helpful, particularly for remote learning.

### "Schoology Makes Teaching Easier"

September 19, 2019

5.0

I have saved so much paper by moving to giving and receiving homework assignments through Schoology.

Pros

I use Schoology on a daily basis. I am a big fan. I love everything that it has to offer. I assign all homework assignments through Schoology and expect my students to submit their assignments through Schoology. It's very easy to upload an assignment and to go through the submitted assignments. I also appreciate the Resources tab, which allows to to upload files, links, and more, making it easy for me to pull up materials I need to use in class.

Cons

I really like this software and it has made my life much easier as a teacher. The only function I wish it had would be the ability to schedule publishing of an assignment. Right now I have to manually publish an assignment when I want it to appear to my students.

### "Schoology to the Rescue "

October 31, 2019

5.0

Pros

Schoology is a one stop shop for instructional technology! From assignments to assessments, Schoology gives teachers an all-in-one platform to foster collaboration and personalization. It is also easy to use for both teachers and students.

Cons

Schoology is constantly improving so there are few drawbacks, but when something needs attention they are responsive.

Reason for choosing Schoology

Their attentiveness to our districts needs.

### "Program ease in collaborative with teachers and Google easy for that with students across classes."

June 14, 2018

5.0

Being able to collaborate and communicate with teachers in my department is fast and easy. Collaborative projects with students across all class periods has been very productive in my classes. Being able to sync to the gradebook is fast and efficient.

Pros

Ease in posting resources to keep students in Schoology for research projects and assignments. The ability to assess student learning in multiple formats. Being able to use the Google Drive link to create collaborative assignments across class periods for students to participate in allows all students to participate in one big project.

Cons

Schoology needs to solve the problem of students being able to copy and paste into Schoology. It's too easy for students to plagiarize when they can go outside of Schoology and copy and paste information to answer questions. I can tell students not to do that and remove grade points when they do, but if Schoology could find a way to not allow student accounts to copy and paste, there would be more original work done by students in the platform.

### "Difficult to Navigate"

June 2, 2021

5.0

As a parent, I find the layout hard to navigate. This past school year my 5th grader used it as their entire learning platform due to COVID. The children had to learn how to use it at the beginning of the school year, and it has worked for them very well.

Pros

I like the daily emails that let me know my child's grade, and if they are missing any assignments.

Cons

The daily emails are not always correct. The emails come through after school is done, but do not always reflect everything my child submitted during that day. I have told my child, go submit X assignment, and my child can show me on their page where they already submitted that particular assignment.

### "Smile with Schoology"

January 19, 2022

5.0

Schoology has been an easy way to help keep my classes organized, and students up to date with what we are learning in class. It has also come in handy for those that have had to stay home for whatever reason. I can post assignments, quizzes, and videos. I also like that students can leave me videos. This is helpful when I need to check their fluency, or hear/see them explain a math problem.

Pros

Schoology is a nice way to organize classes, and lessons/assignments, that is easily shared with students and families. This LMS also has options to create different types of quizzes, including multiple choice, short answer, and even matching! Another great feature is being able to easily create badges to award students.

Cons

Schoology has so many features it can be overwhelming at first, but does get easier with time.

### "Schoology"

May 18, 2020

5.0

They've been great. I have gotten the opportunity to learn from many users and become a resident expert in my school as well.

Pros

This platform has been a savior in the current remote learning context we are in with this extended closure due to COVID 19. They've adjusted their settings, provided support and are responsive to the customer needs.

Cons

I wish they would make blind scoring a reality in their platform for written work! This would allow us to eliminate one other platform and it seems like something that this LMS could manage.

Reason for choosing Schoology

We seriously considered Blackboard and Canvas, but we already had about 50% of staff using the free version of Schoology and thus went with it for that user base and because it had all the bells and whistles in a user friendly experience.

### "Schoology is every K-12 school's aid of delivering success which will be evident to child's growth."

November 20, 2018

5.0

Schoology saves much time of incorporating fun an learning in my classroom.

Pros

When I think of the best learning management system, it is no other than Schoology. It is a software designed for collaboration and interaction with the ease of use since it has a user-friendly interface. I like all of its tools specifically the one that provides instant report on the assessment took by the students. This software was designed based on the needs of the users and their abilities to use modern technology without worrying on how to operate it. It is very portable because you can use any device and still it has a perfect graphical user-interface. Teachers and students will definitely enjoy learning through Schoology. No more boring lesson and no more wait time to check for over-all performance of each learner. I can say the this is the the technology's gift to learn instantly.

Cons

As a teacher, I want all my students to be self-managing when it comes to learning. Schoology helps me realize this. No comments and no suggestions on its improvement or features.

### "Schoology is a great Learning Management System"

January 29, 2021

5.0

I love that I can continue to teach regardless of the current pandemic situation thanks to Schoology.

Pros

Schoology has played a critical role in helping teachers teach during our current pandemic situation. It is key that I can put curriculum online for students that are sick or in quarantine. It is also critical for when I have had to teach from home. It allows me to communicate with students regardless of the current conditions.

Cons

Figuring out the best way to assign things like google forms, and links to websites has been a little bit confusing because there is multiple ways to this. To find the most efficient way of using it has been a challenge.

### "Schoology Helps Us Educate"

April 3, 2020

5.0

We are able to show students that they can access all their resources, interact with staff and teachers while accomplishing homework tasks in an app format, web-based and overall on the go!

Pros

We are able to educate so many students in a comprehensive way and make it clear what tasks are left to do.

Cons

I do wish that the communication channels would be more flexible for formatting purposes. It feels more like simple text.

### "Schoology Review"

May 19, 2022

4.0

Pros

Schoology makes it easy to create, share and manage classroom activities. This software is awesome for remote learning and has been a part of the education system even before online teaching/learning rose to prominence. The platform has many great features, the assessment creation option as well as a calendar for keeping students updated are very practical tools. The user interface is pretty easy to get a hang of and students find it very easy to navigate the space.

Cons

The platform itself does not have many flaws however the mobile version does tend to crash occasionally even during assessments.

Schoology allows our school to link assessments to standards. This makes it easy for our staff to identify struggling concepts.

Pros

Our teachers love that they can post assignments on schoology and have their students email it back to them. It also allows them to organize their materials in folders, which makes accessing important documents easy.

Cons

Schoology is a great learning management system.

Just navigating the site can be difficult. Figuring out how to do the assignments on there and entering them is the hardest issue.

Pros

It was nice to have class assignments available right at home and to be able to see how many times the assignment had been tried.

Cons

Teachers never notice if they have emails from the students, it's a little hard to navigate.

### "Versatile Learning Management System"

February 4, 2021

5.0

Overall, the application has made it beneficial in that all educational needs are in one place; assessments, assignments, grades, messaging

Pros

This software had been instrumental in making learning available both in the classroom and at-home learning for students that are out for any reason.

Cons

It is time consuming to post Google Applications in all of the classes. You can post the assignment but you have to go into each class and attach the document.

Switched from

My overall experience with Schoology was satisfactory.

Pros

I honestly did not like this software, it does what it's supposed to do but just not to my capacity.

Cons

There are a lot of things I don't like about this app, they're all functionality and UI related though. The software gets what it's supposed to get done.

### "Great for Homework"

September 30, 2019

Overall it's been great to use schoology because it's extremely reliable and easy to use.

Pros

I really love schoology because it works so well and it's so easy to use. I've used a lot of classroom platforms and this is my favorite.

Cons

The only thing I don't like is that the time for assignments is sometimes hard to see if you have a window minimized or you're scrolled to the top.

### "Remarkable LMS for education but usable for other contexts"

December 4, 2018

5.0

Pros

As a professor, I interact with a lot of learning management systems. There are numerous factors to consider on the back end for schools or school districts. But when evaluating front-end user interface aspects, I think Schoology comes out on top. It is formatted as much like facebook as might be possible. The interface is intuitive and simple to navigate. Schoology would be a great choice for any business needing an LMS for training purposes (or any other use for a closed system content distribution). Certifications as well as grades are possible in the evaluation functions. And, best of all, with limited users the service is free. You'll have to check when the system switches to enterprise level (and the cost is an investment at that point for sure), but you'll have plenty of time to grow into it and make sure it is the right product before investing any funds.

Cons

This can be costly if you have usage appropriate to enterprise level. I would argue that you get what you pay for and it is worth it, but the cost to buy is not minor.

### "Easy of use +, add some options though"

July 16, 2019

4.0

Pros

The software integrates well with PowerSchool and therefore my school well. It is easy enough to use and add assignments to a class.

Cons

A few things. -Make it easier to add other classes to an assignment before it’s published. -offer an option to put the newest assignments at the top of the feed instead of the bottom. By quarter end it’s ridiculous to scroll through it all. -too laggy when creating tests. I type a whole question then wait for a minute as it adds it to the screen. Super laggy.

### "Clutch for shifting to online learning"

December 9, 2020

5.0

Overall, Schoology was a lifesaver. We experimented with different products but really enjoyed the controls we had as instructors. In a time when the pandemic hit, we were struggling to find the application that worked best for us and this ended up being the perfect fit. It was a huge bonus that it came free and that we were able to find a testing software to continue our online education. Kudos!

Pros

The features that made choosing Schoology the most impactful was that it was free, had many controls as a course instructor and created safeguards for academic integrity. It had more controls to avoid cheating, created amazing supports for test writing (test bank, fill-in-the-blank, mix-and-match, time allotment, weighting etc.). It was very user friendly in that it created items that we used in in-person teaching and made life so much easier!

Cons

My co-teacher and I had a hard time figuring out how to prevent students from receiving their grades right after submitting their exams. I'm sure it was a matter of deep diving more, but in our scenario of first-time users, the students received their final grades after their final exam rather than giving us a few minutes to explore the stats and realize if we needed to drop questions or not.

Liked the controls and options that Schoology offered more.
