Pros

Schoology is a LMS that will enhance the learning taking place in the classroom. Using the LMS has made my students active learners in the classroom by completing assignments, discussions, and assessments inside the program.

Cons

The program has a free side and a paid site. The free side does offer a lot of information, but could offer more.

Highly recommend this learning management system. It is the best at this point in time.

Pros

This is a great LMS, the best right now in my opinion. The design is great and easy to navigate with little instruction.

Cons

I would like a better option than the existing one for real time meeting. At this point there is an option but it has delays and other problems.

Have used Blackboard previously like Schoology better

Pros

This software was so easy to use and I loved how it linked to my Gmail account so i didn't miss an email from a professor or staff member. The assignments were easy to get to and submit as well as read for discussion purposes. I loved that other software such as Zoom could be integrated to make taking the online classes easier

Cons

Like any software it had a couple glitches, but nothing too major or inconvenient

Schoology is a great solution for "one stop shopping" for our students. This is a great time-saver in the classroom.

Pros

My staff and students have used Schoology for the past three years. It is a great learning management system. The students find it user friendly and the teachers love having one place to manage the many aspects of their classes. Excited to see what new features will be coming this year!

Cons

My teachers are patiently waiting for Schoology to be tied to our student information system so grades will import directly!

Schoology seems great. I wish our admin would learn how to use it to its capacity.

Pros

I love the easy look of it for the students to use and upload their assignments to.

Cons

I don't love how older curriculum is not stored for the students, but that may be something to do with the admin of the product and not the product itself.

We love Schoology and it has made our 1:1 initiative really successful.

Pros

Schoology is easy to use for grades K-12. It is the only software that we found that all grades could use. It also has amazing integrations.

Cons

Sometimes, products are rolled out too early. New programs come out and the old ones are still not fully functional.

Schoology changed my classroom experience for the better. It is integral to my classroom and our school district since we are 1:1. Schoology isn't just a tool it creates a culture in your classroom that helps faciliate community in the classroom experience.

Pros

\*User Functionality - easy for teachers and students to use! \*Consistency of Updates from Schoology - they are constantly improving the platform whether it be with new app integration or ease of use in design. \*Support - Their support team is amazing, and client services are impeccable. \* Number of Apps that integrate is growing all the time! \*Google Assignment App stepped up the overall experience and use for Teachers. \* Assessment update changed the game - appeals to all different subject areas.

Cons

Honestly none because any issue that has existed Schoology has responded with an update if there was enough need for a change! That is one of their greatest strengths as a company.

It is a very excellent product that I highly recommended to every Academe.

Pros

The software play a big role in the Academe, specially to the Faculty member. Most common problem that every faculty usually encounter is on how to continue providing a learning experience to every students every holiday o vacation. On how to give quizzes and exercises whenever they are outside of school because of trainings and seminars? That's the very essence of Schoology. It could send every learning experience to every students wherever they are. Aside from that is very user friendly.

Cons

The common problem that may be encountered using this software is that it requires Internet connection which everybody don't have.

Absolutely horrible. There’s not a single thing I like about this program.

Pros

Nothing. It is awful. The homepage is distracting and I hate that I can’t re-order the tiles on my own. The gradebook and grade scale terminology is confusing.

Cons

The cursor jumps and deletes grades. There should be a save button or undo button. I hate that you have to click a box for kids to see your comments on assignments. Navigating from one student to the other to grade their work takes way too many clicks. None of the tasks are user intuitive and the names of certain things are just plain ridiculous rather than having a fill button the button says “set all grades” When there should be options to fill blank boxes or fill all boxes etc.

We have loved using schoology. The navigation is simple for students and the aesthetics are appealing.

Pros

This has been a wonderful learning management system for both teachers and students. It is easy to add files, assignments, students, and teachers to a course. It is also very user friendly for students.

Cons

I wish there was a was to turn of or take away the visibility of assignments or files. This way I can upload things but hide them from students until they need to be published.

It is extremely easy to use. Students didn't need "training" on how to use the platform, it was very intuitive. There are multiple ways to engage students.

Cons

I have only gotten frustrated because they still use Flash for their video recording. This should definitely be a priority for Schoology.

Was an affordable LMS for my school.

Pros

The first feature I like from Schoology is that wer were able to incorporate our Student Information System to Schoology. This allowed me to pull information that was already available instead of recreating users. Second, I was able to use a Single Sign On authentication with my users so they could use an existing account instead of having another set of credentials. Third, this has a Facebook feel which is great for users because most of them are already familiar with the facebook layout, which decreased the length of time it took for them to use the product.

Cons

Schoology has a lot features available for users to utilize. Unfortunately, a lot of these features take a lot of time to learn properly. Certain environments sometimes do not work properly.

Great experience and always improving!

Pros

The easy learning curve was the best feature of this product. If you're familiar with a platform such as Facebook®, then learning this product is a piece of cake. Our parents, students and teachers easily figured it out and put it to use.

Cons

At the time that I was fully engaged in this product, it did not intermix with out main grading platform, so we had to keep two sets of records on both platforms.

Pros

Schoology makes it easy to organize assignments, handouts, links etc all in one place and it is very easy to use from both a teacher and student perspective. The discussion board feature is also really nice to have asynchronous discussions and share their opinion without hearing/reading other responses first.

Cons

I wish there was a way to make responses on a discussion board anonymous to other students but names still be visible to the teacher for grading purposes.

Schoology helps me to keep track of assignments, meetings and readings for the leadership program I am a part of. It helps me keep organized and on top of things.

Pros

I like that I can receive notifications when a course is updated. The ability to have multiple courses in one place is very helpful.

Cons

Sometimes it is difficult to find the update if I do not click in through the notification. I use this as an adult registered in a class and I think it would be difficult for younger student to navigate.

As a former English teacher, it was so nice to have students be able to speak their voice in a setting they may not have been comfortable with prior to using Schoology. We were able to do many of the same discussions with our Bible students as well. It really helped in studying scripture passages.

Pros

I love the addition of the discussion board feature. Requiring students to post prior to seeing other students' post makes it easier to ensure they are not summarizing/rewording someone else's post. This was something that several teachers at my school requested and Schoology was very quick to implement it.

Cons

I really have nothing negative to say about the software. Many teachers at our school had a real problem with handing over a copy of our drivers licenses to a company when we already had a full background check with our school during the hiring process. It felt like a violation of privacy.

Schoology has helped to solve the problem of my students not having a copy of an assignment they need. They are able to access any and all worksheets that have been assigned and there are no more excuses that they "lost their homework."

Pros

As a teacher I love using Schoology. With Schoology I am able to post homework assignments for my class, create discussion pages, communicate with parents and so much more. One of the things I like most about Schoology is that I am able to post differentiated assignments for my students without them feeling the stress of having a different assignment then their classmates. Another thing I like about Schoology is being able to collaborate with other teachers by sharing resources and ideas which benefits both teachers and students.

Cons

The only con I have about Schoology is that there are so many things that you can do using Schoology, that sometimes it can be a bit overwhelming navigating the site. So my best advice is to pick one or two things you would like to use Schoology for and focus on just those few things until you get more familiar with the software. After that you can move on to learning and using more of what Schoology has to offer.

I don't know what my classroom would look like without schoology. It has become a part of my classroom and I rely on it as my means of communication, lesson planning, scheduling, testing and assessing, gradebook and so much more.

Pros

Using schoology as an LMS allows for quick communication between teachers, parents and students. Even when a child is missing from school, they can stay up to date and now worry about falling behind.

Cons

This software is constantly changing and making updates, which is a good thing. Currently, I am not impressed with the teacher analytics of the new assessments tool, but I can gather the information I need through the tests/quizzes.

It was difficult to manipulate by users that are not engaged with the software daily.

Pros

The ability for teachers and students to use it while in a traditional setting or at home virtually.

Cons

We were told that it would sink with our record and grade keeping system, power school, but it does not. There is not an easy way to share grades. It is a lot of extra work for the teachers.

My overall experience with Schoology has been really great. I personally really like the platform. I like that I can add folders, assessments, use the calendar, and add material for students however you would like to.

Pros

What I like most about this software is that I can create assessments that I can link directly to powerschools gradebook. I love that I can create many different types of assessments, that it links directly to the calendar so that all students can see it, that schoology will grade the assignment also.

Cons

The think I like least about the software is that at times there are glitches within the software. There are times when students and parents are not able to access the site.

I love having used Schoology in the past when teaching HS English an gamifying my classroom. I now utilize Schoology for professional development purposes. This allows me to create and offer my teachers anytime, anywhere, self-paced learning modules.

Pros

Schoology truly focuses their attention on personalized student learning. The features to set completion settings and afford students the opportunity to complete units/lessons/folders at their own pace is truly a game-changer. With that, it works perfectly when trying to gamify your classroom with the added benefit of included badges.

Cons

Navigation and ease of use require a little bit of time to play around and get comfortable with the program. So many added benefits and features are within other options. But once you figure them out (like embedding other apps into Schoology) they become the norm.
