### "Schoology Review from a Teacher Perspective "

February 18, 2020

4.0

Pros

I like that student's are able to access course information and materials for all of their courses in a single place. I use the assessment feature daily for quick checks of students' learning and it is nice to get instant data.

Cons

The learning curve to using the software is quite steep for those not technologically inclined. It takes several steps to upload documents. As a math teacher inputting equations is quite lengthy, but this is true of all software at this point.

### "Much better products out there."

May 4, 2018

3.0

Not much, Easy Grade Pro is better

Pros

Ability to turn in assignments online, ability to message students. Ability to upload files, but not display.

Cons

So many, can't list them all. No way to set defaults for some features, requiring extra steps for common activities like inputting assignments. Combining classes still requires you to switch between windows of the "combined" classes. Printed progress reports are hard to get to, and not layed out well. Drop down that appears during grading gets on the way of inputting grades. When grading an assignment, each student's assignment causes a new window to open, cluttering the desk top. The graphics are old fashioned looking.

### "21st Century LMS for the 21st Century Learner"

September 22, 2016

5.0

I use Schoology in all aspects of my classroom. I create and share resources with other teachers in my district. I share resources with my students. I use Schoology as our online discussion forum. I create assignments/quizzes/tests in Schoology to help with paper clutter. I use the audio function in Schoology to help differentiate assessments. I also use Schoology to keep track of my Relay for Life group at my school where I can share event dates, updates, and important messages. I love that Schoology can be used for teacher-led instruction, but also for students to learn, create, and publish their own work. Schoology is a great tool to use for collaboration as well as differentiation. Super easy to use, and the best part is that there are so many different ways to use Schoology from a Resource Hub for teachers, to a full blown online classroom.

### "Average LMS for Schools"

March 17, 2018

3.0

Pros

\*The LMS is appropriate to use for K-12 students. \*It was easy for me to use Schoology to administer quizzes and tests to my fourth grade students. \*I also used Schoology for my students to have online discussions, which they greatly enjoyed.

Cons

(Warning: The last time I used Schoology was in 2016. I have since switched careers. They may have upgraded features since then.) \*The email functionality was terrible. Our school administrator told us we were supposed to use Schoology for all email communication, but none of the teachers did because it was a huge was of time and effort. We stuck with our Gmail account. \*Using Schoology to store grades was also a nightmare as well. We had to use to other programs besides Schoology in order to administer our report cards.

### "Multiuser Program for Large School Districts "

September 6, 2019

4.0

Overall, I found Schoology to be a very useful platform to be used within a large school system. It allows for information to travel quickly and for collaboration to occur.

Pros

This software allows the users to not only access courses and communications, but also enables groups to be created to share information.

Cons

In order to reach certain aspects of the program you have to click through multiple operations in order to reach the desired destination.

### "Schoology"

October 17, 2022

5.0

Pros

What I like most about Schoology is that it has different folders such as the grades folder and it shows the grades and what you're missing. It's also very easy for teachers and students in school.

Cons

Schoology logs me out of my account every 3 days which irritates me.

### "Practical and Parent-friendly"

December 5, 2019

4.0

Schoology provides an innovative and user-friendly platform for students and teachers alike. It is frequently updated and offers a good support network. The main drawback is that it cannot be integrated or ported to support other LMSs, such as Brightspace. This limitation is a drawback if students are required to use multiple LMSs in their schools.

Pros

User-friendly interface Aesthetically appealing menus Excellent toggling and response times Parents have access

Cons

This is an alternative to Google Classroom, Moodle, and other LMSs. As such, it cannot be easily integrated with LMSs that might be present for other courses, such as concurrent enrollment.

### "Has the looks, flexibility, and control of Facebook"

November 3, 2015

3.0

Very attractive initial user interface convinces beginning administrators and teachers and parents that Schoology looks great. Ecstatic user reviews are convincing as well...except those users all appear to be first-time users whose primary reference point is Facebook. Schoology is two years old, and is attempting to leapfrog older established systems; but it is quite immature yet, and struggling to keep up with the dramatic success of its marketing campaign. Like Facebook, Schoology seems to make it easy to send lots of e-mails to lots of people, though it is difficult to be very selective -- for example, it is fairly easy to send a message to all parents (who have signed up), but not to send the same message to both parents and students at the same time. Assignments allow audio and video input, but the marking engine is clumsy (such things are very difficult to program), and grade input is completely uncontrolled--I can enter 900 as a grade instead of 90, if my finger slips. The max grade value is not displayed while marking some assignments, so I need to remember...25? or 50? or 100? Quizzes offer random selection from question-banks, but do not display the source, so it is difficult to tell what questions have already been assigned, and questions are inflexible, once selected. Parents complain that navigation is confusing, as there is no location set for course assignments (this could be rectified by faculty procedures, but the system provides no set location). There are very few reports for administrators, and sysadmins claim to have little ability to change things. But it does look good, and response-time and uptime have been good (not perfect). The system appears to operate according to the new web-development method--keep developing, keep changing, and follow Facebook's lead. However, it is not...repeat not.. a mature LMS, though it is certainly prettier than moodle or canvas.

### "Still the best"

July 3, 2020

5.0

Pros

We have been using Schoology for years now and continue to enjoy its stellar level of interoperability and ease of use for students and their families.

Cons

I am still amazed at the different aspects and attributes available to us. However, with the recent merger, the conferencing app is not available. However, because the firm has an amazing level of customer support, I was able to chat with someone with my concern and they are working on it now.

### "Great for Upper Level Learning"

July 21, 2022

5.0

Pros

This software helped me manage four grade 7 classrooms with ease. Everything that was needed was right in the program and was an ease for students and myself to use.

Cons

I attempted to use this is lower level classrooms as well but was not successful. This was challenging for younger learners.

### "Easy for the Teachers, Tough for the Parents"

October 19, 2020

3.0

Pros

Schoology seems to be pretty straightforward, easy to use application from the teacher perspective. They seem to be able to load the coursework relatively easy and lay out their course plans with little effort. I can't know this for sure, but it does seem that way considering how quickly the school system in my area has adapted to it.

Cons

I think there is a learning curve from the user (parent/student) perspective. It is not a user friendly as you would expect from an LMS. I can see where the teachers have had to make some modifications in order for it to fit their style of instruction. For a parent that is not as familiar with a computer or learning management systems, this could be a bear for them.

### "Schoology for K-12 Educators"

March 15, 2019

4.0

Pros

As an administrator for a large urban school district, I love sharing content and resources capabilities. It is very convenient and easy to use.

Cons

One thing that some of my teachers struggle with is the grading function. I think it is a great platform for a formative or a short assessment. However, I wish it was easier to transfer the data from schoology to other programs that we use as a district.

### "Good Overall"

October 22, 2019

4.0

Schoology makes it easy to get in contact with anybody associated with our school very easily, which we have not been able to do in the past. It also keeps our grades, lets students access assignments and many more things that are very helpful for our district.

Pros

This software makes it easy to communicate between students, parents, faculty and staff of my school. We have setup multiple auto imports in and out of Schoology and it makes life much easier as an admin.

Cons

While we have setup auto imports, they do not always work. Their support is great when we need help, but I feel like we are needing assistance more than we should -> At least once a week.

### "Helpful software as long as teachers are on board. "

January 13, 2019

4.0

Pros

This is a great way to stay on top of assignments and know what is going on in class. It is a great place for teachers to leave links and pdfs.

Cons

If the teacher doesn't post frequently then it is not useful.

### "Schoology made Schooling during Covid easier."

December 10, 2021

5.0

Overall, it was a game changer for trying to help get the kids through school while working a full-time job during Covid. It made communication with the teacher easier and was nice that the kids could be live with the teacher.

Pros

I liked that we were able to see what the kids had completed and not. It would send notifications when things were not complete to help us stay on top of things while working full time.

Cons

It would have been nice to be able to log in and see the actual work versus just what was not completed.

### "Schoolology"

July 25, 2022

4.0

Overall, I feel like this has worked for my son. It is a great way for him to do work both at home and at school.

Pros

I like that my son is able to get content from all of his courses and that it is a hybrid model. It took a little bit to adjust to it but we have figured out how to make it all work smoothly so that he can learn and get his work done.

Cons

I found it very hard to navigate through especially when using it on a phone. He had a lot of trouble locating certain folders that he needed.

### "I love Schoology"

September 30, 2020

5.0

Great, excellent experience. It has been nothing short of awesome. I have been using the application for years ans it is just pure awesomeness.

Pros

I am inlove with how easy this application makes asynchronous learning. Students can easily access thier course materials and take control of their own learning. This application is worth using in your classrooms.

Cons

The only thing that I dislike about this application is a minor issue as it doesn't affect learning in any way. My displeasure is with the fact that you cannot use your phone or tablet to change your profile picture. It has to be done from a laptop.

### "We have been using Schoology as our LMS for two years"

May 17, 2017

5.0

We are a 1:1 district and this product gave us the capability to fully integrate our technology in a meaningful way that still focused on the curriculum.

Pros

Schoology is intuitive and it is ever-evolving. It is one of the only LMS's that will work for grades K-12.

Cons

I wish that they had an add on feature for it to be an SIS so it could be a total one stop shop. The gradebook will not fit into one screen. You must still scroll up and down and side to side.

### "Schoology Student Review "

August 3, 2019

5.0

With Schoology, students are able to get assignments, take tests and exams. You can always go back to assignments to see what you got wrong to correct it in the future.

Pros

This software is easy to use for both students and professors. I liked the layout and how it was always up to date. It was very easy to reach my professor and other students outside of the classroom if I needed help with an assignment.

Cons

There are certain codes you have to get from professors to get access, so you have you have to make sure you’re enrolled in the right class to get the right access code.

### "In the midst of a pandemic"

June 18, 2021

5.0

Overall we used schoology all year and the kids had a okay time using it. We used it from our kindergarteners on to our 8th graders and all of them were able to figure it out by the end of the year.

Pros

after some training my third graders were able to use schoology all on their own without any parents help for turning in their homework. It was a great way to help track who needed help on what.

Cons

The most difficult thing was that some of the features are not super obvious to the users. Syncing grades took some time and could mess up in your infinite campus if not synced properly.

### "Used for an online class I was taking"

September 29, 2019

4.0

I have used this often for courses that I have taken online. It is easy to join a course and complete my work.

Pros

I really liked how easy it was to access documents, chat threads, and files that were created by my instructor on this website.

Cons

I wish that it was easier to find what folder things were in or Where I was in the course on the website. I feel like tabs within tabs on the left hand side of the screen would be helpful.

### "A Real lifesaver! "

March 14, 2018

4.0

\- keeping my child accountable for his homework - keeping on top of my child's grades. - monitoring days out of school and lateness's.

Pros

As a parent I really like this program (there is also an app!) Schoology allows me to keep track of my child's grade by seeing almost daily what assignments have been completed, the grade, homework & test scores, etc. This program has helped me keep my child's grade up and keep him accountable for doing his homework.

Cons

I wish that there was more required teacher accountability (assign homework require 24 hours later to imput grade or something) . There are teachers that are religious about it. I can see my child's grade almost real time and other teachers who won't update for weeks which doesn't allow me to keep on top of my child & his grades. I also find the app could use a makeover, navigation is hard, as a parent there are 3 things I want to see: current grades, absences & lateness, and homework assignments. The rest of what the app offers isn't really applicable to me. In addition to the design on the app itself is not user friendly.

### "Make your own online school and share your knowledge"

November 28, 2021

4.0

I use the platform for corporate education

Pros

I've been in human resources management industry for years and Schoology was personnel education platform which allowed me saving days and month on education tasks. You have to make an education video and materials once and the next time you just add a new student to your course.

Cons

There are no big issues with Schoology. Some say it is not intuitive enough. New people have to create a Schoology profile to get access to the course and sometimes do not understand the difference between student and teachers/coach profiles.
