Pros

It is a great way to track and communicate positive and negative student behaviors with parents, other staff, and even the student.

Cons

The phone application can sometimes be hard to use and time consuming when you are trying to reward multiple students.

Pros

It motivates students and teachers alike! It's relatively easy. I can collaborate and discuss similar problems/issues with other teachers.

Cons

It doesn't work with our attendance program so it is a little bit of a hassle to assign points every day.

Positive behaviors, positive engagement and better teacher to student interaction.

Pros

I appreciate the fact that for classroom teachers, students are enrolled into their side of the program so they are able to give points to large masses of students who are producing positive behaviors.

Cons

Unfortunately, for other staff such as school librarian, substitute teachers, and office staff, hero can be difficult when trying to reward multiple students for the same behavior. Hopefully in the future, there will be a function that allows for multiple students to receive points that are not enrolled in the same class.

Increase in ability to reward on task/positive behavior, decrease in tardiness, decrease in negative behaviors, increase student overall accountability.

Pros

I am able to instantly reward all on task behavior swiftly and students are recognized immediately.

Cons

Still missing a few compatibility features. I use chromebooks in my classroom and I would like to be able to use the desktop version of the app while walking around monitoring.

This software allows any adult in our building (teacher, Admin, librarian, lunchroom worker, security, etc) to award points for students doing well. It also allows a more organized way of tracking student tardiness and cuts. It's relatively easy to use.

The user interface can be cumbersome at times, and it can take more time than is necessary to award points to students.

Pros

It is easy for the students to see their points as soon as I pull up the HERO screen. They can also quickly see who has the most points and see how much harder they have to work.

Cons

It is sometimes difficult to pull up the Behavior History screen to check on the negative things such as Centrals. Also if I give two students a negative consequence at the same time and I want to print it out to hand the students, it only allows me to print one. Students will then say they "forgot" to serve their detention because they did not get the paper.

I like that it is used for attendance and phone calls home as well as giving points to students at my discretion when they are doing great.

Cons

I wish I had a bigger part from a migrant counselor position. But I use it when I am in supervision during lunch or the hallways.

What I like most about HERO is the ease of documentation. Before, no matter what you were trying to record, there would be a slew of papers and organi ation necessary. Now, we simply click and have everything on record!

Cons

I believe the errors I come across are specific to my building and situation, not the program itself.

I like the simplicity of the software, user friendly, self explanatory and loads of ways to access help.

Cons

I like to track my hero points on paper because my class is out of the class is not in the traditional setting. I would like to enter mass points at the end of the day or week.

Common currency among all grade levels.

Pros

Definite and easily understood reward system for both students and teachers. Our HERO store provides necessities for our students and teaches them basic economic principles.

Cons

Teachers don't really use our HERO store. I wish there was a feature that would allow teachers to create their own reward. I would also like to see the number of HERO points below the awards.

The software is very easy to use. Students are populated based on classes that are registered to you from the data entry.

Cons

The software does not allow you to give more than 1 point at a time. There are some things where I reward with more than one point.

I like the ability to give students points for the behaviors we want to see. I think it is important for students to be able to track their behaviors as well.

Cons

I don't like that I can not give multiple points at the same time. I wish I could change the number of points to give a student instead of having to individually enter the points.

We appreciate the ease of use. Every teacher that has had the chance to play with the software has expressed the ease of use and friendly nature of Hero. We can't wait to roll it out to students!

Cons

We are still trying to figure out responsibilities. We have several administrators and teacher (her champions) who would like more access.

When the student do something good I can give them points. These points can turn into awards. Sometimes those awards can be dress down days or homework passes.

Cons

It does not always connect directly with power teacher where I take attendance. So if I mark cut in power teacher it doesn't just give them a cut in hero.

Pros

Our students are advocating for themselves. Teachers are connecting with students on social and emotional levels that are needed to help foster our student's growing minds and emotions.

Cons

The app is not effective as the online version which teachers on the move needed.

I love the fact that I can gather so many wonderful ideas from teachers around the country. The value in exchanging ideas and projects is priceless.

Cons

If there was a way to have a live chat function, I think it was help to increase the turnaround time it takes for responses.

They are constantly requesting you to post on your personal social media and recruit others to join.
