Comments: ECLIPSE has kept our overhead really, really low as the practice has grown.

Pros: I spend most of my time handling back-office operations including billing, payment posting, etc. I love the automatic payments posting (when it's an option from that payer). The billing, receivables reporting & follow-up features allow me to handle almost everything for our chiropractic/physical therapy practice in < 2 days/week. And we've made all sorts of custom forms over the years to handle all that insurers keep putting in our way & populate & print the forms with the push of a button. This feature alone has saved me lots of time!

Pros: Customer Service - friendly, extremely knowledgeable and will return your calls. Most of the representatives are genuinely concerned about resolving your issue

Cons: patient bills are terrible, reports are hard to navigate, not up to EHR standards unless you pay an additional fee.

Since your office is one of 3 owned by the doctor & one of 12 owned by various family members since 1996 & through purchases as recent as 2014, we were somewhat surprised to read your review. We¿ve done our best to address the collective requests of your offices for years. And according to our records, you¿ve never mentioned that you had issues with bills or reports to our Help Desk. We reached out to you today & hope you¿ll take the time to discuss any issues you have with us in the future. My multi-disciplinary practice and scores of colleagues with whom I remain in touch rely heavily on the format of ECLIPSE reports & have never received patient complaints about bills. Regardless, I¿m sure you¿ll be pleased to learn that it¿s easy to have custom reports created to your specifications! Finally, since your office received over $26,000 in government incentive payments for 2013/2014 using ECLIPSE, we assume you¿re already familiar with the increased costs associated with using a certified EHR. Virtually all certified ONC applications have additional costs associated with them. Mandatory Rx, educational & other interfaces (required by the federal government) require subscriptions. We try to keep costs low for all clients, so thousands of ECLIPSE offices that don¿t participate in [government] programs such as MIPS & Meaningful Use don¿t incur additional fees. We¿re proud of the incredibly low cost of ownership attributed to ECLIPSE.

Pros: Technical support is supportive. Most of them are very knowledgeable and easy to get in touch with. The software does have some problems that Eclipse is working through, but other than that it is very user friendly.

Cons: I don't like certain things but find the software easy to use and navigate. It is plug and play type software and there are several ways to do one thing.

I just spoke with you on the phone. You told me today that the problems you had believed were our fault were in fact fixed by your system tech Monday after he discovered a network problem. Next, Dr. Fontaine communicated with our development team in recent weeks & received both a response and notification of an update within days (even as we pointed out that you should have been using a different report to achieve your goal both more quickly & more precisely).

The system meets my needs well.

Pros: The EMR is the best part of the program. It is easy to master and use. I also love the texting feature of the scheduling module.

Cons: The accounting side has some cumbersome aspects. There is a feature to put multiple patients in on a single check but it does not figure the deductible correctly unless you enter each patient individually.

Vendor Response

by MPN Software Systems on September 20, 2017

We¿re happy to hear you enjoy the SOAP/documentation aspects of ECLIPSE. The accounting feature you¿re referring to for manual (?) EOB entry has been part of ECLIPSE for decades & determines responsibility the same way regardless of how patients are accessed. As far as we can determine after reviewing your calls, you haven¿t reached out to our Help Desk for this issue. We do see that you use automatic remittance import. Please consider exploring those import settings with the Help Desk to better streamline ECLIPSE for your practice.

Comments: I would highly recommend Eclipse to anyone that wants a streamlined EHR experience. The way that the data is organized works extremely well for me. In my opinion the support you get is just as important as the software itself. With Eclipse my experience has been nothing short of 5 stars!

Pros: The ease of use is definitely a pro. My staff and myself picked up on the software very quickly and easily. I personally liked the ease of customizing each screen. The software I used before required many screens to be used to create a note. Eclipse does a better job with only a fraction of the screens required. The support has been great. I have only had a few issues, but they were responded to quickly and resolved in the same day, sometimes with in an hour or two.

Cons: The only con that I have seen with this software is the extra time i have to spend doing my honey do list instead of paperwork.

Pros: the company continually monitors new requirements in the medical billing environment leaving little for the user to have to chase for answers

Cons: electronic Healthcare records and single page scanning is not intuitive requiring a lot of time spent for each patient. more training should be offer for this aspect of the software

Overall: this practice has a combined patient load of greater than 5200 people that is a lot of patient monitoring and accuracy quired for CMS this software handles it with ease

Vendor Response

by MPN Software Systems on September 20, 2017

The Help Desk reached out to you after reading your review. First, EHR training materials are already at your beck & call in the form of webinars, context sensitive documentation and one-on-one help from the Help Desk. Next, we'd agree that scanning is not intuitive. Instead, it's comprehensive. ECLIPSE offers extensive scanning, import & annotation capabilities that go way beyond "single page scanning" and allow you to get the most from its documentation capabilities. You can combine multiple documents into one new document, scan one or more documents and copy them to multiple patients, add electronic post-it notes, redact info, add various graphics (e.g. arrows), assign document-specific permissions, encrypt, and mark them as pending review for a specific provider. EHR related data entry tasks for CMS programs (e.g. MIPS) can be ignored if you don't participate. However, all such data entry is subjected to rigorous live user testing in order to minimize typing.

Comments: When choosing a program there were so many out there, and vast price differences, when I demoed elclipse I initially thought for the low cost how could this be, but it was and has been since we purchased the software. To add its compliance has been tested with several audits including recent Medicare audits and the soap notes have passed 100% compliant every time.

Pros: It is very easy to use, even new staff are using it with ease. I have had other software in past and this software meets all the requirements and more. My soap notes continue to pass compliance tests when requested form insurance companies. This includes recent Medicare audits.

Pros: Easy to use Layout is easy to read. I love the fact you can color coordinate the appointment types. Text reminder options.

Cons: It is not integrated. We have to use another program for billing and notes. Entering EOB's takes a lot of time, and with other systems, it will automatically enter them in.

Vendor Response

by MPN Software Systems on August 25, 2017

We admit we¿re quite puzzled by your review. But we¿ve been unable to locate you in our client database in order to reach out to your office. Billions (not millions) of dollars in claims are processed through ECLIPSE annually. And ECLIPSE has directly imported remittance files -- currently in HIPAA mandated ANSI 835 format -- for decades. Finally, thousands of providers use the ECLIPSE Encounter for their clinical documentation. We¿re not sure whether you¿ve confused us with another system, but we suggest you call the Help Desk or review the wide variety of videos available to you via your ECLIPSE menu. All of these items are thoroughly integrated. Thus, you can, for example, simultaneously generate bills & relevant documentation to your printers and/or one or more electronic formats.

Pros: I own the product. There is good customer support. I can send my claims out hassle free electronically through my clearing house.

Cons: I spent 4 weeks on Training and $800 and wasn't prepared to implement for another 6 weeks after that. I felt that the implementation of totally new way of doing my front office has not come easy. I've used the software since May and I am just feeling comfortable with the basics now. I haven't even thought about using the EHR system yet. I think any system takes a while. I don't have anything to compare to at this point, but I feel this is hard to make the transition.

Comments: I absolutely enjoyed working with my rep from the Help Desk. He made my transition to a new clearinghouse much easier by being patient while walking me through every step in order to actually learn how to utilize the software better. It was an added bonus that his personality shines through the phone, is contactable, relatable and enjoys solving problems.

Pros: Customizable to work in any medical office setting, it has EHR capabilities which until recently, was absolutely intimidating, it offers continuous updates and most importantly, the Help Desk Techs are very contactable and extremely helpful (when they are reached). In fact, it wasn't until recent that I began utilizing the Help Desk (which we pay for this monthly), but once I realized how much quicker I could learn the software and decrease the intimidation factor, I now reach out weekly. Hector was the first person to actually allow me to enjoy this product. In fact, his great interpersonal skills over the phone allowed me to become more interested in learning the usages of Eclipse beyond the once limited use my office was acquainted with. The day-to-day usage of this software has exponentially increased efficiencies once I was able to teach my techs how to run daily operating procedures. I look forward to transitioning to EHR as soon as we are able to customize our own SOAP notes and create a user friendly interface... with the Help Desk walking us through every step of the way, of course.

Cons: This software is very intimidating due to its vast capabilities it possesses. It is meant to work throughout any medical office, but for that reason it is very overwhelming. In my chiropractic office we require a much smaller selection of options. Unless, I have someone from the Help Desk walking me through the software, it's like trying to find marbles in a bucket of sand and is time consuming. Though they are always updating the software, it still seems dated. Its layout is just not simple. Certainly not something Steve Jobs created because it is has too much going on and isn't as intuitive as I would like.

We¿re happy to hear the Help Desk consistently provides what you need & shows you how to find anything you inquire about. Your practice purchased ECLIPSE in 2008; you joined the practice years later and never received standard training. So, I¿m sure you¿ll be excited to learn that over 50 training videos are available directly from your ECLIPSE Help menu. Please bear in mind that ECLIPSE is not an iPhone app. It¿s a robust program that has evolved constantly over its lifespan to remain competitive, useful to doctors like you, and user friendly. As an ONC certified Complete EHR, ECLIPSE contains a variety of options that few chiropractors need or use. However, those options are required of all certified software ¿ and if you don¿t use the capabilities, you can simply ignore or hide them. Most ECLIPSE features are the result of requests from thousands of client offices across the USA -- offices like yours. The ECLIPSE user interface is absolutely current & fully supports Windows Desktop themes, cue banners, touch screen input capabilities and other features only available in recent Windows versions. We hope you¿ll make use of available training videos so you can more fully utilize existing features.

Pros: I love the fact that so many features are customizable for each individual office, that Eclipse is very user-friendly and provides excellent customer service/technical support. As a billing company, it's imperative to our success that we use a billing software that is reliable, accurate and is always current with industry changes. We regularly demo other competitive software programs in the industry and continue to find that Eclipse is the absolute best option for all of our software needs!

Cons: I wish there were more flexibility in report writing.

Overall: We began using Eclipse practice management software for electronic billing in 2005. We are still using it now in 2017 and it works yearly flawlessly. Every time I have a problem or a question I am able to call and have assistance that is both conscientious and professional. We do not use the electronic health records components of Eclipse so I cannot speak to the efficacy or efficiency of use in that arena.

Comments: Buy Eclipse! Eclipse is one of the best things we did for our clinic.

Pros: Eclipse gives you exactly what we need to run a successful practice! Insurance filing is made simple and integration with our clearinghouse is seamless. Unlimited help is available Monday through Friday. Eclipse gives you everything you need without the unnecessary bells and whistles that jam things up. I had one software program prior to Eclipse that was overly fancy and hard to use and kept breaking down with poor customer service. Eclipse invented the wheel when it comes to Chiropractic Software! Eclipse is the BEST!!!

Cons: There is only one con. The trainer we had initially was not a good match. I would make sure to recognize your learning style and get someone who will go at your speed and be a good communicator and a people person. I learned more through calling the help center Monday through Friday then I did with hiring one of their trainers.

Comments: Had a software problem and called and got great tech support on this recent issue from the technician. The tech called back a few times until the issue was fully resolved. Recommend him to anyone and everyone.

Pros: Ease of use. Can add custom lines to the templates. The program is very easy to use and understand.

Cons: If you are in a condition and have billed out visits in this condition and if you want to change the diagnosis or adjust it, it will change the diagnosis on any future bills / visits but it also changes the diagnosis on previous billed visits if they need to be re-billed. Sometimes you want to remove portions of a multiple diagnosis as the patient improves.

by MPN Software Systems on April 12, 2017

Dr. Deleasa, you¿ve been a client for almost 30 years. After reading about your recent interaction with the Help Desk, I requested they contact you immediately to help you with diagnosis entry. ECLIPSE has always allowed you to create an unlimited # of conditions for any patient case ¿ each of which allows you to manage all the information generally associated with a patient condition (diagnoses, dates, etc.). You¿re not expected to edit existing conditions for billed data. Instead, you simply create a new condition, copy the data and make whatever small or large changes may be required ¿ a process which generally takes seconds.

Comments: As the title says, this EHR program is really easy to understand and use. I use a first gen Surface Pro and it works great with it. The SOAP notes are really quick and are easily to customize to your liking. The customer support has been great so far in regards to training and learning how the system operates. There are also a lot of features built in to this software that are paid additions on other programs, such as email and text reminders to patients. The user interface is not the prettiest to look at but then again neither am I...

Pros: Easy to learn. Very customizable. Nice built in features. Scheduling, SOAP notes, Reports, Billing, all-in-one.

Cons: Not the best looking User Interface

Comments: Yesterday I had a question on how to set up providers¿.. Called Eclipse after using this company for years, I have to say this one call was one of the best help and response call that we/I have received regarding speed, efficiency and help from ECLIPE. I do appreciate all the hard working folks that help us out with all our questions in the past. But I need to personally thank one really special person that kept me from tears the last two days. ¿ See I hit the wrong button a lost data .I was overwhelmed had patients to deal with and patients in the waiting room called Eclipse got right through and talked to a very competent person by the name of M........... .She was wonderful. She helped me through a very bad day she stayed on the phone with me. Then promised to call the next morning and did just that. Then went above and beyond and stayed the phone with me until the problem was fixed. I thank GOD I had her there to help me. I t was a rough day..So thank you thank you . She needs a raise!!! Sincerely, Virginia

Cons: CONS¿. I WISH I HAD MORE TRAINING I THINK THIS IS GREAT SOFTWARE. I JUST DON'T KNOW HOW TO COMPLETELY USE IT. It can do a lot more then I¿m using it for. Thanks M................for the tips!!!

Pros: Very in-depth tabs, documents, resources, etc

Cons: Difficult for get customer service

Overall: Eclipse software was OK. Being a small Chiropractic office, there were many parts of the software that we didn't need to use. This software would be best for a multi-disciplinary practice with many practitioners and staff. It was somewhat difficult getting customer service to help us when problems would arise. There were always updates needed and ongoing training. Overall just OK, but maybe too much for a small physicians office with under 5 staff members. Best for larger practice or clinic.

The office you worked in until recently has used ECLIPSE since 1999. And though ECLIPSE is used by offices with 150+ employees, it's also used by thousands of offices with 1 or 2. As far as we can determine, 92% of your calls within the past 6 months were picked up live, and any issues were resolved. You also reviewed ECLIPSE on Software Advice in September 2015, noting "The customer service is great. They can usually get our questions and problems answered as soon as we call. And even if they don't know the answer, they call us back within 24 hrs with a solution." We'd love to know what changed your perspective. And yes, ECLIPSE is updated on a very regular basis as it incorporates new standards and user requests.

Comments: I used to use this software for over 8 years. I switched to a different EHR because my practice required more detail chart system. Overall I was satisfied with the software.

Pros: A stable system with very few bugs. Easy ledger.

Cons: Not cloud software--you need to back up the data frequently. I heard it provide the cloud backup now. Medical chart is not easy to use and hard to customize. Customer service is slow and often unavailable.

Recommendations to other buyers: If you run a simple practice, this software is very affordable, simple-to-use system that you will enjoy.

Thanks for your comments. As far as we can determine, you stopped using ECLIPSE in 2014. When you purchased ECLIPSE in 2009, you refused training. Over the years that followed, we received a single call from you regarding our SOAP documentation. It¿s unfortunate you didn¿t communicate your frustration. Reviewers here & elsewhere have raved about our Encounter technology. We wish we¿d had an opportunity to help you. ECLIPSE has received 5 star reviews on this site from multi-disciplinary offices with hundreds of employees and dozens of providers (e.g. ¿Reina from Southland Spine and Rehab Med Ctr¿ in March 2015). In fact, the office that created that review has used ECLIPSE exclusively in the ¿cloud¿ since before the term ¿cloud¿ became popular. And you are indeed correct that we offer URAC HIPAA Security Accredited cloud backup services. Finally, after extensive review of your call history dating back to 2009, we¿re unsure where we went wrong providing customer support. For example, we researched the 7 calls you made to us in 2014. 4 were answered live with hold times under 1 minute; 2 calls were returned within 60 seconds; 1 was returned within 30 minutes. To the best of our knowledge, we resolved your issue during each call. We¿re sorry we disappointed you.

Comments: I have found Eclipse to be user-friendly. We implemented the EHR portion one year ago and have become more versed with the tabs and selections.

Pros: User-friendly, easy to navigate. Good training online is available.

Cons: Inability to create a referral letter to another physician using exam findings, we often have to rebuild an index file on the server, we get kicked out of the program when we have had too many staff sign in/out even though we have licensure for 12 users, and have up to 6 users per day.

After reading your review, I immediately called your office to let you know how to resolve the issues you mentioned. I¿m puzzled that you chose to discuss these issues in an online review -- yet never called us about them. I¿m sure we could have saved you a great deal of frustration. A simple update would have handled the user problem you refer to. Finally, you can easily place SOAP information, in whole, in part, or via custom copy/paste into form letters that can be printed or emailed to referring providers (and simultaneously added directly to the patient¿s list of ¿Documents¿).

Comments: I have used this software for 3 years and although it is a definite step up from the previous software I had there are a few things I definitely wish was there. As an example I wish there were ways and places to quickly pop ups on the screen key items about the patient (levels of fusion, problems with certain adjustments, etc). Drop down menus are nice but don't quite including de enough and I constantly need to add to it to meet my needs.

Comments: I was part of a practice which used Eclipse for many years before using Eclipse in my own practice. I found it simple to navigate and was able to learn the system quickly. As my needs changed in the practice I was able to modify Eclipse for accommodation. Recently I began utilizing the e-mail blast to send out pertinent messages to my patients. Long hours of making reminder phone calls special scheduled appointments are no longer necessary. A few clicks of the mouse and I am able to send a message out.

Pros: The customer service team is knowledgeable and professional. They listen and go the extra mile to ensure that the problem is rectified, or the issue addressed. I love that Eclipse is able to be customized to the ever-changing needs of our profession, in addition to the needs of my office. The schedule allows me to follow not only the Patient appointment visits, but also the special tests and consultations which the Patients are scheduled for.

Cons: None. Customer service has been able to fix any issue I have had.

Recommendations to other buyers: Request a demonstration. You will be pleasantly surprised.

Pros: Price. The software does what you need it to.

Cons: Training and support. Customer service. Not intuitive/user friendly (the software is old and you can tell).

Overall: PROS: Eclipse is more affordable than many comparable options. It does the basic functions you need.

CONS: Training is very expensive (hourly personal trainer rather than a free online help/training site). Customer service is poor (you can get an accurate view of their attitude by reading responses to reviews). Not intuitive (in obvious ways that should be fixed) and lots of bugs.

RECOMMENDATION: This software is usable, but I wouldn't choose it if I had a do-over. The reason we're leaving is lack of features and functionality. We have found that we will save money with cloud based software with a patient portal (allowing for payment integration with credit cards, electronic intake, and online scheduling). Other software has developed these options.

Recommendations to other buyers: Other software has developed time saving (i.e., money saving) features, so I would look elsewhere.

We stand by Dr. Walters' response to the 1 star 1400+ word review that Annie from your office created on another site in December 2015. We encourage anyone to Google & read the review along with its response (search: "Annie from Sunstone Health Associates"). The review above infers both that you purchased ECLIPSE from us (you did not; you purchased an office that owned the product) and that you were trained by us (you were not). Perhaps some of your misconceptions might have been averted had you received training. Our Help Desk Director spoke with you last week and you were unable to clarify your references to bugs. Nor do we have a record of any unresolved calls/issues from your office. ECLIPSE can be used in the cloud, offers CC processing, a free patient portal, tablet based intake forms & multiple types of online scheduling. Again, we are indeed sorry you were unhappy with ECLIPSE.

Comments: While an Eclipse user for over 20 years I have always used the SOAP notes within the program for charting my patients progress. Like anything else new it took a little bit of time to get used to the system, but once I did I found that writing complete comprehensive notes quick and efficient. Recently I have been approached to perform peer reviews. It's amazing what I have to try to decipher. Hand written notes, canned paragraphs describing every test performed and what they mean, fourteen paragraphs to describe the patients symptoms. Some notes are totally devoid of information others have too much. The most constent thing I have seen in reports generated by Eclipse is that all the data is concise and logically presented, I don't have to sift through pages of notes looking for postive orthopedics, VAS scores, DTRs, etc . . . It is just easier to find all the information necessary to make a determination.

Recommendations to other buyers: It may take a little time tot get used to the EHR tab Encounters, but it is well worth your time.

Comments: I began using Eclipse in Oct 2013. To summarize the details to follow: when the system works, it is ok. However we have had consistent problems and the instability, errors and discrepancies within the system have been endless. CONS: Consistently unstable and quirky repetitive problems. We have worked exhaustively with support on these issues. Some reps are incredibly knowledgeable, others not as much. Friendliness and response time to concerns has been highly variable as well and many issues remain unresolved. I think it is best to use examples to highlight our problems. Here are the top 5 most consistent errors (this is not exhaustive): Multiple people in file. We frequently have need for multiple staff in a patient file at once (ie clinician finishing EHR and front desk in ledger for check out). A message is generated when multiple users are in a file and the file is ¿read-only¿ for anyone except the first person to access. When the primary user completes their task then closes the file, another message notifies the file is released. Not a problem, knew that going in. However about 50% of the time when the secondary person tries to save data (after the file release with no changes made during the read-only period) an error is generated and that workstation crashes. It takes approximately 90 seconds to get out then back into the system. We had to create a protocol to work around this, creating significant office inefficiency. Save errors Any changes made to the system (demographics, EHR, notes, alerts, etc) require manually saving. As noted above, save errors occur often with multiple users in an account. However, we have had extensive errors when saving that we have not been able to identify triggers. Some days it will happen 10 or 12 times, others not at all. When the save error occurs all data recently changed is lost. I can¿t tell you how many notes myself and my staff have had to rebuild. Out of habit we all hit save after almost every click. Makes notes much more tedious than they would otherwise be. User errors Theoretically our license allows up to 7 users at one time. We have 5 people in office, so clearly within that license. However our providers bounce treatment rooms throughout the day. Starting approx 6 months ago (after an update), we routinely get a ¿max user error¿ telling us we have too many users in the system (It has reported as many as 22 users). Support has been unable to offer any solutions, and claims it has nothing to do with the update. This happens during heavy patient volume (we are a low volume practice, on average seeing 70 pt/week), but also light volume. When it occurs it crashes the entire program and will not allow logging in for approximately 5-10 minutes when the ¿users reset.¿ So we have 2 choices: wait- unable to access patient data (approx 5-10 min delay), or manually delete the current user file (approx 3-5 minute delay). You can see the inefficiency when this happens 5+ times/day. Inconsistent Reports Although the reports are extensive, their reliability is not consistent. One example: referrals. We collect new patient referral information and (used to) pull a report quarterly to see where our referrals are coming from. When we filter the report for the time range, the end report still includes referrals from all time. I have also found multiple discrepancies in several financial reports, assigned provider/treating provider reports (for bonus structures), and more. We have worked with support/Laura on this with no resolution. We finally went to tracking manually because we couldn¿t devote ongoing energy without solutions. Can¿t view file types, deleted printers, scanners, etc Periodically we have been unable to view certain file types on different workstations. For example, we use a template for tracking physical therapy/rehab. We have done exhaustive analysis for triggers such as changes to a work-station, system settings, updates, anti-virus scans, etc¿..and the reason remains unknown. We have learned to correct the situation, although it took approximately 2 years for us to figure it out on our own; tech support finally helped, but it took about 6 different tickets before resolution. This has also happened multiple times with visibility of office printers, scanners, etc from various work stations. OUR EFFORTS: Throughout this journey we have tried to work with tech support who rarely takes ownership of problems. We have been told our network is unstable so we have upgraded/replaced every piece of hardware (server, gigabit switch, routers, modems, several computers, and more); we re-wired our office with CAT5 wiring in case the problem was in wiring. We have worked with 3 separate IT companies to professionally troubleshoot the problems, all of which have ensured me it cannot be external to the program. The cost of the system has quite literally tripled from the original purchase price. SUMMARY: After 3.5 years of ¿making it work,¿ I am currently evaluating other systems and planning to move on. I would not recommend this system.

Pros: The transition and training was very smoothe from our previous EHR and very well managed. Our sales rep, Laura Davis, was AMAZING, and has continued to be for 3.5 years, often acting as support and helping troubleshoot problems. The system is highly customizable, has great alerts, and as a comprehensive system should have allowed streamlined workflow.

Recommendations to other buyers: I would not recommend. The cost to "fix" the problems would have bought me 2-3 more expensive software systems in the long-run.

Dr. Therese Miller, thank you for using examples in your review. It helped tremendously as I first researched your comments & then spoke to your Milwaukee, WI office. What¿s most unfortunate here is that any of these items would have been easily resolved had you actually called us. As it turns out, you repeatedly called a 3rd party rather than our HELP Desk ¿ especially during the period from 5/2015 through 9/2016 when you never spoke to the Help Desk at all. And of course, until a week ago, you¿ve been running a 2+ year old version of the software. Most recently, your office personnel seem to have unintentionally deleted patient files as you attempted to handle the ¿user errors¿ you describe. As far as we can tell, that¿s the sole reason you became angry enough to write this review. Perhaps, if you had followed our backup recommendations, this problem wouldn¿t have become an issue. However, you use a vendor we do not recommend and weren¿t able to restore the data you erased because no recent backup existed. First, any & all software in current use has restrictions when multiple users attempt to edit the same data simultaneously. That¿s why we created Real Time Data Flow (RTDF) several years ago. This could have been instantly & easily turned on for your office at any time ¿ and would have eliminated any issues you describe regarding multiple users & saving data. But you never called the Help Desk. (It would have taken less than a minute to make this change.) The user error issues would have also been eliminated by speaking with the Help Desk and/or working through the problem with them. Next, based on your example, reports aren¿t generating inconsistent data. On the contrary, if you had called the Help Desk, we would have explained how to properly run the report you describe. In your case, an additional filter might have been recommended. And we would have ensured you were more familiar with data filters, a concept used throughout ECLIPSE. You also make a series of comments about your network, but never disclose the fact that your original network consisted of an old wireless home router and a few laptops that couldn¿t provide the performance necessary for data throughput on your system. Finally, we¿re happy you renewed your subscription this past month & believe our annual subscription is quite reasonably priced. But it seems you saved hundreds of dollars at great expense to your practice. We invest a great deal of time & money into our technical support operations. We¿re sorry you opted not to use those services to the extent you claim.

Dr. Draughon-Preston, as an ECLIPSE user since 1996 who has personally received $26,460 from the MU incentive program, you¿ve made a measurable profit on ECLIPSE over the 20 years you¿ve used it as the backbone of your office. You paid nothing for the certified version in 2011 and waited 2 years to begin the incentive program while other ECLIPSE clients were receiving millions of dollars in incentive payments. As you know, you¿ve been able to discern our status at any time, even though you opted out of receiving email. You¿re also aware that since roughly 7% of ECLIPSE users took part in the program (60% of whom dropped out after the first year), we didn¿t pursue the next certification and focused our development efforts elsewhere. Your sole contacts with the development team were via email in December, 2015. We reviewed those emails & found them to be diplomatic & devoid of any opinions regarding cost. Please feel free to publish them. And please pay special attention to the section where you were advised of an alternative that would have allowed you to continue to receive incentive payments w/o interruption. Finally, as per myriad updates in our README & the most recent email sent to our clients on 10/17/2016, you¿ll be happy to know that to address new CMS rules for the upcoming Merit Based Incentive System (MIPS), proposed in April 2016 as part of the Medicare Access and CHIP Reauthorization Act of 2015, it¿s projected that ECLIPSE will be re-certified in February 2017 to meet upcoming MIPS reporting requirements.

The tech support is extremely friendly and more importantly they are available. You talk to a human as oppose to leaving a message and they call you 3 days after.

Pros: I like the fact that each patient can have multiple cases which could be used in a multidisciplinary environment or per insurance whatever your heart desires. I also like the reporting capability.

Comments: I am used to switching software, as I have worked for a few doctors over the years. Eclipse is the friendliest, easiest one to work with, and the customer service is one billion times faster and more accomedating than Chiro Touch. Eclipse is way ahead of the curve on customizing their technology to your office's needs. It is also easy to navigate and updates regularly to the ever-changing medical requirements. I'd recommend it to any office looking to change. Support is free forever too!!!!! Other companies always charged us for updates and customer support, and if you really look at your bills thoroughly, it is kind of a rip off, full of hidden charges. Eclipse will not do that to you. It seems they really care about the happiness of their clients, rather than making money off of them. Check out a demo!

Pros: As stated above, the customization options.

Cons: None. Any issues had always been easy to fix.

Recommendations to other buyers: Check out a demo, (on go to meeting, I think) and write down any questions you have. You'd be surprised at what can be changed, for your needs.

Comments: Our offices have been using Eclipse practice Managment software for over 20 years. It has been used in our primary facility and numerous satellite offices. Eclipse is an intuitive program and user friendly, even for those lacking computer knowledge. First rate support staff, always accessible, highly knowledgable, and very patient with all staff members. I would highly recommend this product for individual and multi Doctor facilities

Pros: Fantastic billing program. Fast efficient, easy to use. All statistics and data reports available with a few simple key strokes. Frequent upgrades keep the program current with coding and billing trends and forms. Great support.v

Cons: None that I can think of. Just love the program.

Recommendations to other buyers: If your considering computerizing your office or a new software system, this program is the one. Go with a well established company that takes great pride in their product. It works and it works well

Pros: I do billing myself and now it takes me less than two minutes what used to take up at least an hour of my time. Scheduling is really easy to do and my staff loves it. It has an option for reminders for us in individual charts which makes our day to day business run smoothly.

Cons: nothing

Recommendations to other buyers: compare how much time this software will be saving you compared to any other. Daily SOAP notes would take more of my time in old software than whole new patient entry now takes in Eclipse.

Pros: A no nonsense approach to practice management with a team of support that is top notch! AR management is one of the most important aspects to me in a practice management software and I have yet to see any other software handle it quite like Eclipse. From the reports, to tracking sales tax and inventory it is all in there. I am a reports kind of person, I like to know where money is and what I can expect to collect. The ability to set up individual "expected amount" fee schedules for our contract insurance companies is priceless. Scheduling clients/patients with ease.

Cons: As someone who has used this program for many years I really don't have any true "least likes" of the program.

Recommendations to other buyers: Really give this software a look at. I have yet to find a system that is this customizable, user friendly with a support staff that is really willing to dig into your issues (if you have them).

Good EHR and excellent support!

Pros: We are able to get tech support in a timely manner. The ease of use is very nice.

Hi Dr. Meyers! Thanks for your review! According to our records, you haven¿t called us about any appointment issues. We just wanted to let you know that we¿ve contacted your office to better familiarize you with our audit log. The audit log is tamper proof, was certified to government standards in 2011, has been used by prosecutors to pursue theft-related convictions, and can show you directly which user deleted an appointment from the scheduler (and when). Audit reports can be generated to your screen with a variety of information and have extensive sorting & filtering capabilities.

Pros: Eclipse is very customizable to our clinic's specific needs. The advisor that we have worked with for the past 27 years has helped us make any changes or modifications that we needed to make easy. She made sure that everyone in the clinic was comfortable with the changes before she left. She has been wonderful to work with as we transitioned to EHR and came out to our clinic and met with us on several occasions to make sure our transition went as seamlessly as possible.

Cons: There are frequent updates that have to be done before/after hours.

Recommendations to other buyers: Their representatives are fantastic to work with. From the most challenging to the easiest of questions they are patient and helpful and will work with you until your question or concern is resolved and you are comfortable with the solution. The software is also very customizable and adaptable for whatever specific needs your clinic may have. This office has used Eclipse for 27 years and and it has always been up to date throughout all of the coding changes.

Hi Kyrsten! Thanks for your kind words. I reached out to Laura Davis, your rep, and asked her to contact you about updates. We¿re actually proud of the fact that we¿re constantly updating ECLIPSE, but there¿s certainly no requirement that you download updates as often as we make them available. Unless you have a specific & immediate need for a change or addition, checking for internet based updates weekly, monthly or less often is up to you. I¿d suggest you consider monthly updates as a reasonable compromise to ensure you¿re ¿up-to-date.¿

Enjoying using Eclipse at our office!

Pros: Actual work that the system does for you, and it is quick and efficient. I am absolutely using my computer less, and working on my patient's pain conditions more. I also have had excellent customer service from this company (Galactec) and several affiliates we use for training and as our clearinghouse. Within 3 months, I felt we had a very good grasp of Eclipse's capability. We are still learning how to use this software more efficiently every day. There is a lot of options depending on how you want to run your practice.

Cons: I was skeptical about back-ups, but they are easy and second nature now. It did take a while to get the system set up the way we wanted to use it...but this would have been the case with any other software also. I was also concerned about tracking claims and payments between Eclipse and Infinedi, but ever since we bought this software they have made a more seamless connection between the two products. All the things I was concerned about, customer service and support helped me through.

Recommendations to other buyers: It is the competence and professionalism of the training and support staff, throughout our training period and even months after the purchase of this software for very specific questions that really have made this software the right fit for our busy chiropractic office.

Dr. Jessop, we¿re sorry we weren¿t able to meet your needs during the short time you used ECLIPSE, which apparently ended over a year ago. It¿s unfortunate that though you called us several times monthly with billing questions, you never called us for any help [or to express your frustration] with what you describe as the ¿EHR portion¿ -- which includes a variety of features such as extensive document management & SOAP. The Help Desk staff would have spent as much time as necessary to guide you as you transitioned from your paper SOAP system. You experienced significant staff turnover not too long after you purchased ECLIPSE. Your original [independent] trainer provided an additional hour of training free of charge followed by 2 hours for $100 ($50/hour). We¿re sorry you viewed that as ¿pay out the nose for it.¿ Our Help Desk would have been equally available to help new staff with the essentials, and short online videos were [and are] available free of charge to get any new staff member started with basics such as patient entry.

Pros: Affordable, customer support will always return calls. We already know how to use it so we are very familiar with the software

Cons: Not very EHR friendly, it has limitations on EHR notes and they only have one vendor they can work with as far as credit card processing and their rates are high.

Recommendations to other buyers: I think it is important to keep overhead low, so eclipse will cover the basic needs for starting practice without breaking the bank however efficiency is important and they could have better updates to make it more EHR friendly

Dr. Rosas, your Lewisville, TX office has been using ECLIPSE for years & processing credit card transactions through OpenEdge since December, 2014. As a practicing chiropractor, you can imagine my surprise when I learned that you¿ve never shared any of the above concerns with either us or OpenEdge. I was further surprised after management personnel from both OpenEdge & GalacTek reached out over a two week period and spoke with you, Dr. Estess, and Kassandra. You agreed to supply OpenEdge with the alternate rates you¿d been quoted. Yet, after multiple follow-up calls, OpenEdge still hasn¿t received anything from you! With regard to your ¿EHR notes¿ comments¿ according to Dr. Estess, he was getting messages that his ¿computer wasn¿t connected,¿ an apparent problem with your network, not ECLIPSE. Regardless, the GalacTek Help Desk has made multiple attempts to provide assistance with your computer system. It¿s my understanding your office has been too busy to speak with the Help Desk technician thus far. Finally, your office waived training on ECLIPSE. However it was apparent during a 30 minute training session with Dr. Estess on the phone last week that perhaps ¿very familiar with the software¿ was optimistic regarding the EHR ¿ a situation we¿d like to believe has now been rectified. OpenEdge was originally referred to us by a chiropractor client in Washington, who pointed out that many of our competitors use their CC processing services. Over a period of years, we¿ve received a great deal of feedback regarding rates from friends & colleagues; virtually all consider the rates competitive. In fact, GalacTek became an OpenEdge client as well. These days, chiropractic clients process millions of dollars monthly through OpenEdge and issues are rare.

Pros: I like how customizable the calendar for making appointments is.

Cons: assorted oddities that create extra clicks - like when I open up a payment that has been applied to multiple bills - you have to click the down arrow to see them all - it doesn't automatically allow you to see the rest of the screen

Recommendations to other buyers: I do not know what recommendations I would have - using the software is the best way - so a live trial is the best.

Your ECLIPSE subscription lapsed about 18 months ago (so your updates aren¿t current), but I hope you¿ll take the time to call the Help Desk. Your 6 provider multi-disciplinary facility has been using ECLIPSE since 2006. The issue you describe about a feature added in 2013 has always been configurable & instructions in your README detail how to change it. We also reviewed your call history, including dozens of calls made since 2012 -- many of which related to your network -- and found absolutely no issues that weren¿t easily resolved in a timely manner (such as questions about the ICD-9 to ICD-10 transition & new CMS forms). We wish you had taken the time to communicate with us about the issue you describe in your review.

Comments: After all is said & done, ECLIPSE has saved my practice far more money than we spend on it. I look at colleagues who equate high prices to better software & just laugh. We use ECLIPSE for billing, SOAP/EHR, scheduling, document storage, creating & running custom payer forms, patient contact, etc. It basically runs the entire practice & has certainly saved money on staff. Downtime is non-existent; staff members have never had difficulty learning or using it. The software has been around since 1985, yet still routinely gets facelifts & new features that keep it looking like a brand new product ¿ rather than a clunker. At this point, there are offices that have gone from "new practice" to retirement with it ¿ even as we look at all the new toys that come along. What else can I say?

Pros: I like the fact that it is a one stop shop. Get billing and Great easy to use EHR system. Support is great.

Cons: Can get a bit teadus entering all the EOBs in manually, but that lets you see what you still need to collect and follow up on.

Recommendations to other buyers: I would recommend being very comfortable with billing, and make sure that if you don't understand something to call and have them show/explain it too you. There are lots of different ways to do the same thing.

Thanks for your review. The Help Desk has reached out to explain how to automatically import & apply electronic EOB remittance information ¿ which we¿ve been handling for decades. Also, if your claims clearinghouse is Infinedi, ECLIPSE will find, download & prompt you for remittance & acknowledgements as you submit claims. EOB¿s received as paper checks can be applied manually during a single bulk entry operation to multiple patients. Finally, paper EOB¿s can easily be scanned to one or more patient files in a few steps.

Pros: It has been very reliable, and generally pretty easy for staff to learn.

Cons: I just cannot use the EHR/charting component. I do not find it user friendly and it takes forever to enter a complicated new patient. I treat a lot of work comp and PI patients, and I have never been happy with how long it takes to enter a new patient. Once all the data is in the encounter record subsequent visits are pretty quick. However, because of this issue I am now researching other EHR software for my practice.

Recommendations to other buyers: Do your homework. Consider contacting other docs in your area to see how they like it. Include staff in your analysis. What is the likely learning curve? As I said, Eclipse has worked pretty well for us for more than a dozen years, but I think there are programs that offer more functionality. Make sure you know what is most important for you- most programs out there today do most things, but not everything well.

Dr. Whalen¿ as an ECLIPSE user since 1997, we appreciate that you¿ve never received training on the Encounter, which was introduced 14 years later. In fact, you¿ve called us about the Encounter a collective total of 3x in the past several years but never mentioned the issue noted in your review. We¿ve reached out to your office several times in recent days in an attempt to help you speed up a process for which we¿ve received extensive positive feedback in recent years -- specifically inclusive of the types of documentation you mention (e.g. Personal Injury). We understand that user interfaces for clinical documentation can spark profound differences of opinion among providers. However, after five years of nationwide feedback, we¿re confident that the extensive built-in customization abilities can help you create a process that¿s reasonably efficient for your new patients as well as your existing patients. We hope you¿ll give us a chance to get this working for you.

We¿re glad to hear you¿re happy with the Encounter. You¿ve been using ECLIPSE since 2010. Perhaps that¿s why you¿re unaware that our legacy SOAP / documentation features provide exactly what you mention -- the ability to click on a picture to zero-in on a body part. We actually introduced the first integrated electronic SOAP / billing system back in 1991, and by 2010, we¿d moved away from the older narrative formats that such systems create (which auditors & reviewers instantly recognize). The Department of Health & Human Services (DHHS) has even testified about such formats and what they term ¿cut & paste¿ mentality before Congress. The Encounter was released in 2010 to conform to concepts mandated in the American Recovery & Reinvestment Act (ARRA) of 2009, DHHS preferences, and published studies regarding structured & unstructured data in clinical documentation. It¿s now 2016, and we¿ve received a great deal of feedback from auditors & investigators, including comments that the Encounter ¿sets a new bar.¿

Fantastic!

Pros: HD was more than able to just help us get our data back, he very patiently waited and walked me through all the steps needed to correct our problem. He is the one we always try to talk with, he is very patient and does not make you feel computer illiterate when you have a problem. On this same day I had talked with another person who had told me there was nothing they could do and I would have to contact Carbonite to retrieve our lost information. When I called Carbonite they told me they had to have specific file numbers. I then called Galactek again and asked for HD who was able to solve my problem and even called me back while the information was downloading to see if everything was going okay. I would recommend this company to anyone who is looking for software with good customer service skills!

Cons: Occasionally you have wait time on the phone due to high call volume and have to leave a message.

Pros: The back office aspect of this software was excellent. My staff easily could generate reports for just about any parameter we wanted. It was easy to switch between cases in patient files (from cash to different insurances, etc.) and this made tracking things such as patient balances very easy.

Cons: It didn't integrate as well with emails, social media, patient reminders, etc., as other products.

Recommendations to other buyers: Make sure your staff can easily use the back end of the software to generate the reports you will need, and make sure you can integrate easily with your email/newsletter generator, or that the software itself has that capability, since email marketing is so important these days.

We appreciate your review, but admit we¿re somewhat puzzled. As of your May 2016 review, you haven¿t updated ECLIPSE for the past 8 years! ECLIPSE has extensive capabilities to contact patients via their preferred method of text message, email or via the patient portal, as well as extensive integration with third party products that interact with patients directly via social media. Comments: In 1985, after carefully reviewing all the practice management software available for chiropractic & medical professionals, I was unable to find anything that provided report functions I felt I needed for my rapidly growing practice. ECLIPSE provided a solution, first for billing, then for appointment scheduling, that could handle our volume on the limited hardware of the 1980¿s. By the 1990's, SOAP was integrated. Each & every time insurers made us jump through new hoops to get paid - such as filling out myriad new forms to pre-certify visits. ECLIPSE provided new solutions to minimize paperwork and maximize time savings.

In fact, custom form creation was one of my favorite features of the last decade and allowed me to integrate custom BC/BS forms (without any programmers) so we could print them in seconds instead of filling them out by hand in 20 minutes. In addition to the tremendous time savings, the forms were now much more accurate and helped us cut down on payment problems resulting from simple typos!

And since many of my staff members were terrified of computers, it's a testament to its ease of use that they've managed so well. Of course, the electronic billing alone probably saved me from having to hire additional staff.

Now, the latest SOAP technology seems to make it even easier to record accurate notes. During my 25+ years in practice, I've performed IME's and reviewed documentation for payers. This has provided an opportunity to review S.O.A.P. from a variety of our colleagues. Documentation differs drastically from one physician to another. We use different techniques, went to different schools, attended different seminars and have been taught a variety of viewpoints. ECLIPSE allows for customization - especially in those areas where chiropractors may differ extensively from one another. Auditors seem to love it. And it's fast.

Pros: Since the implementation of ICD-10 on October 1, 2015, I often missed my lunch hours to complete my morning notes using another (WritePad) EHR software. I used to have to stay late into the evening to complete my afternoon notes. That has not happened since switching to the Encounter software. When I need to call support (which I have done a lot during the transition from our 'old' software) I have always been able to talk with a live person AND get a resolution to my problem.

Cons: Whats not to like...? Accurate notes, fast notes, excellent support and it comes free with the Eclipse practice management software and subsequent support... I haven't seen anything comparable out there.

Recommendations to other buyers: The decision to use any given EHR software encompasses a lot of things. At the end of the day, for me at least, it boils down to accuracy of the information stored in the patient record and your ability to record the visit in a very timely manner. Without either, it fails. The 'Encounter' in Eclipse has allowed me to produce better notes in less time than what I could do in WritePad, getting me home to my family much sooner than what I used to.

Comments: I have used Eclipse software for about 16 years. I think it is easy to use and handles many aspects of the practice such as billing, scheduling, EMR and reports. Usually when you call for customer service you don't get anyone on the line and you have to leave a voicemail with your call back number and you have to wait for them to call you. The wait varies. I've waited between 15 minutes to 24 hours for a call back.
Our practice has been searching for other practice softwares and doing training and demos for other software I do realize Eclipse, although user friendly, isn't keeping up with the times.
Eclipse isn't cloud accessible, and as far as the SOAP notes, the set up can be better as well as the way it generates the note.
Also, the patient statements aren't the best nor any other statements that are printed. It sucks that we cannot put our logo in any of the print outs.
We've been told by many, that the software is very archaic .
I'm satisfied overall. Just wish, more updates would occur to keep up with healthcare changes and technological changes in society.

We spoke with Dr. Bracic on 3/24/2016, four months after you posted your review. Apparently you did purchase & begin using a competitor's cloud-based product -- and then returned to ECLIPSE. We appreciate your continued support. We admit to being quite puzzled by your comments. ECLIPSE has a variety of high tech new features. And the Encounter technology we released in 2010 has been lauded across the USA as auditors have routinely noted their preference for our data driven documentation. You've also been able to use ODBC to create custom statements for years. ECLIPSE can be hosted in "the cloud" -- and is for a variety of clients. Updates are posted to the internet weekly (taking up over 10 pages in your README in 2015 alone). Finally, of 15 calls you placed to the HELP Desk in 2015, 50% were picked up live with wait times from 4 seconds to 5 minutes. At least 3 were hangups & no msg was left.

Pros: The price is right, it provides electronic billing capabilities, you can download ERA and EOB information from your clearinghouse, and GalacTek Help Desk can usually help you solve a problem

Cons: Since Eclipse is a stand-alone system, it¿s very helpful that it allows practitioners to view the calendar via Google. Two problems. First, a practitioner may be forced to change their Google password to comply with Eclipse requirements. Out of four practitioners, three had to change their passwords. Second, when I enter an appointment on the calendar, it will sync to Google. If I edit that same appointment to change the time frame or to cut and paste it to another date, that does not always sync to Google, greatly compromising the accuracy of the calendar viewed in Google. It¿s easy to enter new patient information into Eclipse. However, phone numbers and email addresses are entered under a separate demographic tab. Cumbersome. Also, there are programming inconsistencies. When indicating ¿race¿ you must click in a tiny box beside the choice. But when indicating ¿ethnicity¿ you may simply click on the choice, without having to carefully aim for a tiny box. I have found these programming inconsistencies elsewhere in Eclipse. One of the worst programming inconsistencies is the use of the date cells. When entering a patient¿s date of birth, you must click on the calendar, then the cell is populated with today¿s date. (We have no patients who were born today!) You then click on month, change it, tab to day, change it, tab to year, change it. But when using a date cell in the patient¿s ledger, after the month is entered, the cursor will automatically move to the next cell, and so on. Because of the difference in programming for these date cells, I cannot confidently enter dates without watching carefully what I am doing. To save newly entered information in a patient folder, you must click a red ¿X¿ which is labeled ¿Close¿. When new to Eclipse, this is an uncomfortable concept. The word ¿SAVE¿ would be helpful or even ¿SAVE and CLOSE.¿ The big red ¿X¿ just doesn¿t compute. Issues with using the calendar to schedule appointments include: 1. There is no ¿TODAY¿ button. You must click the tiny calendar and then click the tiny option ¿Today.¿ A 2-click process. Doesn¿t seem very ominous until you realize that you are on different dates all day and then your 2 clicks turn into 200 clicks. 2. Recurring appointments are cumbersome to set. The best option I have found is to set the first, then copy and paste it to each succeeding date and time. It works, but is very time consuming. If there is a more efficient way to create recurring appointments, Eclipse has made it difficult to discover. 3. After setting a patient appointment, you must return to ¿Views¿ to ensure that you have indeed set the appointment! Skipping this skip is very dangerous. A real confidence buster. Eclipse offers a ¿preview¿ of bills and documents you have scanned and saved to the patient¿s file. However, scrolling to view more than one page of documents is so cumbersome that you often need to print the documents in order to see everything. The pages jump in such a way as to indicate that Eclipse is old-school technology. Eclipse will send ¿automatic¿ appointment reminders. There is nothing automatic about it. You must remember to send the reminders and go through the 19-step process to send the reminders. Even trying to use the Eclipse templates to set this process up took a couple of weeks, many phone calls to the GalacTek Help Desk, and many failed attempts. If you can endure that, then it works fine. With this process, however, a stand-alone system is a liability. You must send Monday reminders out on Friday or Saturday. This often necessitates a trip into the office, especially if there has been a holiday, since it cannot be done through the web. Eclipse makes their stand-alone system a selling point, citing instances when other web-based programs have been hacked. With medical records this is a valid concern. (However, countless companies use web-based payroll systems without any concerns.) In hindsight, we would purchase a web-based system. Initially setting up to bill insurance companies is daunting, difficult, and confusing. Eclipse helps by providing error messages and a 12 page document in the hope that you might find the error message and somehow decipher computer speak and discover your error. This is fun if you like to receive messages such as ¿Missing or invalid provider ID#: Loop 2420A ID Loop: 2420A Segment: Segment: NM1*82*1Name*Provider****34*.¿ This might be helpful if you are a programmer. If you are a receptionist or billing expert, you may not have taken a DOS class 30 years ago. If you don¿t think that¿s fun, you have the option to call the GalacTek Help Desk for ANSI issues. If you haven¿t been made to feel like a fool recently, please call. Once you know how to bill insurance companies and all your information has been entered correctly (including the impossible-to-notice ¿Patient¿s relationship to guarantor¿ cell), you are now ready to complete the 19-step process, if you want to bill an individual patient visit. One difficulty with this process is that after you click ¿EDI Processing¿ and identify the codes to submit, that particular dialog box just sits there. No indication that you are done, that you selected anything, or that you need to now close the box to go to the next step. This is a huge issue when you are interrupted by a phone call, a patient, a practitioner, a sneeze. You may need to redo the EDI Processing step to ensure you identified the codes. From our chiropractic physician: ¿The kiosk is terrible.¿ We have worked with GalacTek for four months to get the kiosk running to no avail. We are still using hard copy intake documents in spite of the fact that we have two computer-savvy people working on this issue with GalacTek. To their credit, GalacTek has offered to have a third-party come to our location to get the kiosk working. Aside from the fact that the kiosk does not work for us, the intake template is absurdly difficult and time-consuming to use. If we do get the kiosk working, we will need to tweak the template to a massive degree. Adding a ¿new guarantor¿ in Eclipse is relatively simple since it allows you to ¿copy from patient¿ or ¿copy from guarantor.¿ However, Eclipse technology relies on a ¿home phone.¿ 99 percent of our patients do not have a ¿home phone.¿ You must enter 10 zeros in the home phone cell anyway. This was sold to me during training as ¿it makes things cleaner.¿ That is a falsehood. It is a requirement and if you don¿t enter all those zeros in the home phone cell, you will be sorry later. So the ¿copy from patient or guarantor¿ works but only populates the ¿home phone¿ cell. If you want things to be clean, you must find the patient¿s cell phone number and reenter it in the ¿alternate phone¿ cell. A serious danger in ¿copying from guarantor,¿ is when you have a family. Dad or Mom may be the primary insured. Each family member may have a different digit on the member id, e.g., Dad may end in 1, Mom may end in 2, Child may end in 3, etc. If you have relied on simply copying from guarantor without checking each individual¿s member id, the claims will not be successful. Alerts may be set on Eclipse to remind you of things like ¿collect payment from last visit,¿ etc. Those ¿alerts¿ pop up only when you click on the scheduler to indicate the patient has arrived. The alert is a teeny tiny box that pops on at the bottom right of the screen and is in black and white. It is not enough to draw your eye to the alert and it was several weeks before I even noticed the alert pop-up. We have four different types of practitioners and different ¿cases¿ need to be set up for each practitioner. Switching between cases is cumbersome and time-consuming. When there are cross-over patients this becomes a real issue. The ledgers must also be kept separately in order to avoid serious issues when billing that cross-over patient.

Recommendations to other buyers: We would not recommend Eclipse due to the issues identified above and many other issues not covered here. I didn't discuss issues encountered by the practitioners in their note-taking. We would also recommend purchasing a web-based system rather than a stand-alone.

With over 71 prior ECLIPSE reviews on this site, some from offices that are over 40 times your size, we wondered why yours was such an outlier, so we appreciate your attention to detail. Reviewing your calls, it¿s apparent you¿ve been unhappy because you¿re unable to get our free KIOSK software running properly on your network, despite all the time & effort both you & our Help Desk have spent on the situation. You acquired ECLIPSE this past June when an existing ECLIPSE client sold you a satellite office and I have some suggestions based on your comments. First, it¿s unnecessary to enter phone numbers as ¿10 zeros.¿ We¿re not sure why anyone would suggest this, and I know for a certainty we¿ve never used ECLIPSE this way in our multi-disciplinary practice. When we don¿t have contact info, we leave related fields blank. I hope you¿ll call our Help Desk to discuss this further. But let¿s move on. You label numerous features as ¿programming inconsistencies,¿ such as a patient¿s ethnicity vs. race. According to federal EHR mandates, ethnicity is a single choice, whereas race may account for multiple simultaneous possibilities (e.g. ¿White¿ and ¿Asian¿). Certainly you¿re aware that people may identify as bi or multi-racial? Thus, of course the interfaces for these two items differ. And we think the most widely used date/calendar for data entry in Windows applications worldwide is also the most versatile way to enter & select dates. Which is why we use it in ECLIPSE. Data entry varies for obvious reasons. For instance, you may not have or know a patient¿s birthdate, whereas you would never enter a service such as an office visit without a corresponding date. Given your stated discomfort, please review your Help, where the calendar¿s versatility & user interface are explained in detail. Thousands of offices nationwide have used our Google Calendar interface since 2010 without incident. If you had called to discuss this, you might have learned that any appointments that concern you had been created before you turned the interface on. Some of your other comments seem to be attempts to use ECLIPSE in unintended ways. For example, it seems you¿re using the form letter reporting section of ECLIPSE to generate reminders, rather than the built-in ¿Appointment Recalls¿ feature, which takes half as many steps and about 20 seconds to setup & launch. Given your repeated use of the word ¿tiny,¿ please realize that you can scale both ECLIPSE & fonts. Also, you can likely scale your display through Windows as well. Once again, perhaps you should discuss this with our Help Desk. Finally, rather than address any remaining issues here, I¿d like to reiterate that we¿re sorry you¿ve been frustrated in your attempts to use the KIOSK on your network. Even this past week, we were remotely logging into your system in an attempt to help address your problem. In the future, we hope you¿ll use all the forums we¿ve made available to directly discuss any concerns you have.

Pros: The customer service is great. They can usually get our questions and problems answered as soon as we call. And even if they don't know the answer, they call us back within 24 hrs with a solution.

Cons: We operate a small chiropractic clinic, and this software is probably best for a multi-disciplinary practice. We feel the software is underutilized by us, but only becase we don't have a medical doctor, nurse, physical therapist, etc., on staff.

Recommendations to other buyers: Make sure you are going to get stellar customer support and training after the purchase of your software. You will need every bit of training to make sure you are comfortable using the software with daily patient flow

Dr. Murphy, thanks for your review. We just wanted to remind you that ECLIPSE was designed for a chiropractic office that still uses it almost 30 years later, that a large percentage of chiropractors nationwide use the software, and that everything from documentation templates to the customized ICD-10 databases that went live yesterday have been designed by & for chiropractors. Certainly, some very large medical, PT & multi-disciplinary practices now use it as well. However, it was our chiropractic client base that moved us in that direction. And we accommodated them.

Pros: There are several things that Eclipse does nicely. Let me start with handling the finances: When set up properly, Eclipse clearly shows at a glance how much a patient owes totally and how much they owe for the current visit. Entering payments is simple, and payments get applied to open bills (if set up to do that), or payments can manually be applied to a specific bill. Financial reports are easily created; aging reports, unbilled charges (I personally love this feature), practice stats. Billing: Claims are easily created, whether printing a paper claim, or electronically billing. Reprinting claims is simple. Patient receipts and patient bills give nice flexibility of what to include or exclude on the bills. Eclipse handles insurance authorizations nicely. They call them "conditions", and this prevents the office form entering a charge if you are over on visits or beyond a certain date. Entering new patients has been simplified when entering a family member by allowing the user to copy info from another patient's file. We have a lot of families and this is a great time saver, as well as avoids data entry error. Eclipse is quite comprehensive and there is just too much to cover and not enough space or time here. ICD 10? No problem... Eclipse has a built-in crosswalk from ICD 9 to ICD-10. It will be a smooth transition thanks to Eclipse. Just one more thing, Their support is super. Although sometimes it requires leaving a message and waiting for a return call, the technicians are extremely knowledgeable of the product. The few times that I had some "unusual" experience, the technician did their best to reproduce it at their end to guide me to a resolution.

Cons: I personally am not thrilled with the EHR/Encounter portion of the software, although I have several friends that are extremely pleased with it. I have seen some printouts from other Eclipse users, and it's not bad.

Recommendations to other buyers: I was going to change software because of the SOAP notes aspect of Eclipse. I looked at several, and after trying the patient management and billing aspect of the others, I came right back to eclipse. I have found it relatively easy to train new employees on the Eclipse software. Regarding the SOAP part of eclipse, it is just my personal preference, but as I said, there are many Eclipse users that are very happy with it. My advice: if you are looking at other software programs, really "play" with the demo for a while. Enter patients, enter insurance companies, enter patient and insurance payments, adjust balances. Look at how easy (or not) it is to read all the information on the screen. You will not find one that flows as smooth as Eclipse.

Pros: I think that this product and vendor spend most of their time attempting to help people in need during sticky situations. I think that this shows excellent customer service and the hopes to overall serve practices in their data storage usage, and to make it easier for them.

Cons: I think that the program can sometimes be slow, which in a fast pace environment can be difficult.

Recommendations to other buyers: I would recommend to be patient and do not be afraid of making mistakes, it helps you to better learn the system!

Pros: It is user friendly and offers a lot of options to input different demographic information.

Cons: There is no live EHR or Kiosk training. I feel that for the busy practitioner it will be a huge learning experience and will more than likely slow down the office flow.

Recommendations to other buyers: Evaluate and compare it to what else is on the market and see the easiness in using Eclipse.

Finally, you can easily place SOAP information, in whole, in part, or via custom copy/paste into form letters that can be printed or emailed to referring providers (and simultaneously added directly to the patient¿s list of ¿Documents¿).ders).

Pros: Our rep is so helpful and full of knowledge of the Eclipse program. Eclipse is an easy system to run.

Cons: Not really anything other than a few reports or query's that we don't get. Electronic notes seem hard to use for the DR. Not really sure of this yet?

Recommendations to other buyers: Try it you will like it. It is a great system! We have been using Eclipse since 2000 for the Y2K transition.

Pros: The product itself is great! Our office had Eclipse for 10 years and then we moved on to another software vendor (ACOM Health). The new vendor was a disaster. So after two years dealing with ACOM Health we switched back to Eclipse. Night and day difference in regards to speed, ease of use, features, price, and customer service. Eclipse has some of the best customer service around. I can always get a hold of someone within a few hours if I need help. The reports and accounting aspects of Eclipse are spot on which makes practice management so much easier. Eclipse is constantly improving on the product taking into account request made by its users. Anytime I run into something Eclipse doesn't do or doesn't do in a way I think is efficient I just shot their team a message and usually within a few months the suggestion is part of an upgrade. We left Eclipse once and it is my goal to make sure we never leave them again. I also recommend this to every office I see in my consulting business.

Cons: Honestly, I really can't think of anything at this time.

Recommendations to other buyers: We left Eclipse to go to ACOM Health because at the time we didn't like the electronic SOAP note in Eclipse and the other systems notes looked so much easier to deal with. The doctor was sure that the new system would handle SOAP notes in an easier way. After 2 years I can say that though the SOAP portion of ACOM wasn't as horrible as the Practice Management side it was combursome in many ways and the expense of the system was not worth the 'easiness' of the note. Going back to Eclipse the doctor and I spent about an hour a week for about 7 weeks customizing the notes in Eclipse to match the doctors preferences for how a note is laid out and making it completely personalized to him. The doctor is very picky about his notes so this was something we appreciated about Eclipse that we could customize the daily SOAP note to fit our needs, desires, and wants. Eclipse comes with pre-made templates which are perfect and if filled out match documentation requirements for Medicare. We just customized because we could and it was so easy to do in Eclipse. The kiosk patients can fill out help us as well in keeping paper work to a minimum. Overall it is good to be back using Eclipse.

Pros: Posting daily charges Auto posting User-friendly Ability to navigate between screens

Cons: Creating reports. Often times I need a simple report of a payor name and patient balance with that payor and it just does not spit it out easily. Posting credit card payments. We don't like the credit transfer between a family. If the card goes through we should be able to allocate to different accounts Appointment Calendar we should be able to edit reschedule and cancel within the same touch. It would also be nice to go to posting from appt. with an easy stroke.

Recommendations to other buyers: It would be nice if Eclipse would allow names of Lic. users ( with permission) to be available. When I worked with EZ we sold so many systems for them because we used it for years. It is also nice to call people that are working from an office perspective to answer a quick question. We need to know if our suggestions made to Galatec is being reviewed. When I have made suggestions I don't get any reply.

Thanks for your comments. First, you¿ll be happy to know that our HELP Desk personnel have direct access to experienced professionals who have consulted & lectured nationwide. Though we appreciate your request, we cannot ask your colleagues to routinely take time from their busy schedules to provide technical support. Also, though we have no record of any questions or suggestions submitted by your office through the Contact Us page on our website, we suggest you review the related ECLIPSE HELP topic ¿ which has a direct link to the form. The ECLIPSE scheduler is a powerful tool that can be used in myriad ways. Please call the HELP Desk to learn how you can reschedule appointments via editing or cut/paste operations in one or two simple steps. Finally, we¿re not certain we understand your patient/payer responsibility comments. Patient responsibility is always displayed on the ledger & payer balances are available by bill. Additionally, ECLIPSE allows you to transfer credits among family members via two simple steps.

Pros: I think that the technical support is top notch. I have been particularly impressed by your employee Hector Domenech. He is always willing to give that extra level of service to make sure that our system is running smooth and safe.

Cons: I would like to be able to move the various complaint tabs, save them and have them remain in the same order. I would like to be able to be able to completely edit out some of the standard information in the EHR notes.

Recommendations to other buyers: I would of course try all the top competitors and see which program best fits your needs. I don't think you can go wrong with Eclipse

Pros: What I like best about Eclipse is the software is all inclusive and very well integrated.

Cons: The inability to edit and change some features in the encounter part of the software. Also, in the past year or so the Tech Support has add numerous people and they are not as fully conversant with the software and past personnel. They can answer simple question, but numerous times I have been unable to get an answer without either repeated calls and waiting for the tech support person to go speak to a supervisor or someone more knowledgeable or having to wait for someone to call back, which does not always happen.

Recommendations to other buyers: Compare with other software systems and you will find that Eclipse is one of the few if not the only one that is fully integrated and addresses all the requirements of the new Healthcare environment.

Thanks for your review. I researched your calls to our HELP Desk and was surprised about what you *didn¿t* mention. For example, in August 2014, when you had an issue with the newest CMS-1500 form several months after its introduction¿ and weren¿t able to communicate your issue to the HELP Desk¿ you simply contacted the developers directly through our websites! They, in turn, explained why the issue existed (a mistake in published government guidelines), handled your problem, and notified you that an update was available within 24 hours. Additionally, thanks to their extensive experience with federal audits, they also advised you with regard to a theoretical Medicare records request. So, in this instance, your perceived difficulties with the HELP Desk were actually about published CMS/NUCC documentation. Regardless, you were able to get our attention and had your issue handled immediately. Also, since Encounter content is basically 100% customizable, we hope you¿ll contact the HELP Desk with any questions. I was unable to locate any calls from you or your office about the Encounter. We hope your future interactions with our HELP Desk meet your expectations.

Pros: Easy to learn and use. There was not a tremendous amount of time needed to learn how the system works.

Cons: It uses drop downs for everything in the EHR, and when you get to super bill, you have to manually type all codes in, there are no banks of codes with bubbles to click like there are with other systems I was used to.

Recommendations to other buyers: Certainly make sure you have a really good router, if you are going to use more than one computer in your office. Even with the best router on the market, with four computers on the system, pulling up patient files is really slow.

Courtney, we record all calls and maintain thorough computer logs of all our interactions. We¿ve exhaustively searched all our records, and have been unable to identify you as an ECLIPSE user or client. Your comments about ¿superbills¿ and the necessity to manually type in codes leave us wondering whether you¿ve confused ECLIPSE with another product. If not, we sincerely hope you¿ll get in touch with our HELP Desk. We were also puzzled by your performance comments. As a 4 user system, your clinic size is smaller than our average, and certainly smaller than that of other reviewers on this site that range to the top of SA¿s available size choices (101+ users). We can probably help you with this issue, as well.

Pros: Within a week the system was up and fully functional. I was creating more descriptive notes faster than I could do with Future Health, which I had used for 7 years. The customization is endless and you can truly create very descriptive notes quickly and efficiently. The support and training have been excellent and everyone I have dealt with has created an environment where i can implement this into my practice seamlessly. This company delivers on its promises.

Cons: There is not a great deal of stunning graphics in the program, but that is overcome by its robustness and ability to be customized to me.

Recommendations to other buyers: Check all the programs out and see what works for you. But don't be lured in by fancy graphics and bells and whistles. Make sure you can make a descriptive note, quickly and efficiently. That is where Eclipse surpasses all the other chiropractic EHR's in my opinion.

Pros: It is difficult to pick one or two features, as ECLIPSE has so many features we like best. However, after all is said and done, we like the fact that ECLIPSE has kept up with the changes in the industry, which has been instrumental in the growth of our practice. We started using ECLIPSE PMS back in 1995 when we had only two doctors in the practice. Now, with over 150 employees, 35 providers, two office locations, and one ambulatory surgery center, ECLIPSE has kept up with our growth, which has given us one less thing to worry about as we manage our medical group. Even today, I just received an e-mail of a new feature that is being implemented. Simply phenomenal!

Cons: We operate 24/7, so it would be nice to have 24/7 support. That being said, this has not really been an issue because we hardly call support.

Recommendations to other buyers: In my opinion, no software is likely to meet every single one of your wants, but it must meet your needs in order to run your business efficiently and effectively. Don't get sold on the "bells and whistles" and forget about the nuts and bolts. How is the software going to streamline your processes? If you are building processes to compensate for what your software cannot do, then that is not the software for you.

Pros: Seems to have a lot of good features for the practice, such as patient database, SOAP notes, billing plus appointment scheduler, and reminders.

Cons: Too complex to learn to use, and so many layers, pathways, and criteria to memorize that implementation has been put on hold. Stressfully complicated. Steep learning curve and pathways that are not intuitive to use. Training available only by phone and online. Training moves too quickly for non-technology wiz users.

Recommendations to other buyers: Talk to multiple offices currently using the software you are considering before making your decision. The vendor won't tell you about the drawbacks of their products! Use trial samples of all modules in programs.

Pros: This office system has all that is required and the note system contains all the components that are required for evaluation and management of a patient record.

Cons: I really like all aspects of this product. I have used three prior programs for software management and notes and this was the most user friendly product -- on top of the fact that it¿s both affordable and thorough enough to protect you in the event of an audit.

Recommendations to other buyers: When considering software today you have to be absolutely sure it will cover all the basics required in this complicated health care system. I was recently put to the test when I received a request letter for 10 patient files. After months of going back and forth with this large insurance company, I was finally able to talk to the clinician who heads the audit division. He not only overturned the refund request, but stated that in his 15+ years of reviewing notes, on a scale of 1-10 -- with 10 being the worst he had ever seen -- my notes were a 1. This is an absolute proof of the quality of the eclipse software system.

Pros: I like the ease of which this is able to be used.I like how quickly I can navigate between numerous patient notes without having to wait for each one to load over and over again. I like how the sales, support, and training staff are always there to help. Our reps are top-notch and ensure that you know how to use this. They take the time to make sure that you are trained at your pace and ensure that you can use this in your office.

Cons: I like nothing least about this product. It's just a great product.

Recommendations to other buyers: Take time to compare it to your current system from A-Z. Look at how user-friendly it is (very) to how smooth you are with transitioning in your office, and the cost (nothing competes). You will look at this and then wonder why you are using something else.

Pros: I can quickly speak with a customer service representative who will walk me through a process. The content that I can pull from various reports is extremely valuable.

Cons: The software sometimes freezes up when trying to put charges in and after multiple scheduling. I have lost doctor notes on occasion, per the office manager.

Recommendations to other buyers: Pursue demos as needed and speak with other organizations that utilize the software to get their opinion.

Pros: I like my trainer and Eclipse support. I have used Eclipse both in my practice and in a practice I worked at previously. That is the reason I purchased Eclipse; I can't say enough how excellent our training was.

Cons: To be honest with you, I love everything about the software. I can't think of any negatives. It works great in our office. I am the wife of the chiropractor, so you know I would be the first to complain.

Recommendations to other buyers: I think the trainer you get is very important. Our trainer had over 20 years of experience and knew the software inside and out. Sometimes, I would chuckle because our trainer would say with some of my questions, "Are we playing stump the trainer?" I would reply that I was never able to stump her.

Pros: The price of the software is very reasonable, and you can customize your notes to fit your needs (it takes some time, but it is worth it). I love that you have a real person that comes out and shows you how to use the software. From sales to install, they have been at our side. After the initial install and training, she gave me her cell number to call if I ever had any questions. When I do she always responds. She is friendly, warm, treats you with the utmost of respect and calms you down when the frustration of learning a new software starts to wear on you. I have switched from my other software to Eclipse because of her.

Cons: You have a help desk to call (which is very nice). However, a few times I had to leave a message that took a few hours for them to call back. I also felt rushed when on the phone with them and they are not quick to spend time with you figuring out the problem. I have gotten responses from them stating, "Well it doesn't do that for me on my end, you must be doing something wrong." I would hang up without an answer.

Recommendations to other buyers: Take a look at the reports. Make sure you can get what you want and have them show you exactly how to do it.

Pros: Eclipse is easy to use. and the support team knows the product inside and out. I love that I can go from scheduling a patient to checking them out really easily. Plus, their EHR is excellent.

Cons: There is nothing I don't love about this product. I was swayed into buying another system because of the touch feature. It wound up being a huge mistake. With Eclipse, it's easy, and if you have a question, their support staff is excellent.

Recommendations to other buyers: Try it out and try out the others you are considering. Once you can compare it by trying it out, you will see how much better it is than all of the others out there.

Pros: The program is rock solid and doesn't fail. In the seven years I've had the program, I have had only two minor technical difficulties after downloading an update, and those were remedied very rapidly. The previous software I was using was having problems after most updates, and tech support was almost impossible to get a hold of. After researching various programs and talking with doctors who owned various programs, I settled on Eclipse because the most important thing to me was a stable product and a company with a long-term history. I will also say their support is always helpful and courteous, and the developer himself actually responds to my email suggestions. He doesn't always give me the response I would like, but he does listen and implement changes that he sees as feasible and needed. He also personally helped me solve the kiosk wireless problem I was having that was not their fault.

Cons: The EHR part of the program is still a work in progress for me. I think that can be said for almost all the EHR charts out there. I can continue to see that portion of the product developing towards a very usable solution. We are currently inputting all the Meaningful Use data into the program and will be attesting after the first of the year. Once we're done implementing the Meaningful Use, I hope to have the EHR customized so we can start using that to eventually evolve from paper records into electronic only. We are starting to practice more and more with it on some laptops, but I haven't implemented that portion of the software yet. As we become more familiar with it and practice with it, I think we will eventually make it workable for my situation. For people switching to the program from another software, there is a learning curve. It was a little bit of a struggle in the training process trying to understand a design that was different than either of my previous accounting systems. Now that we have fully learned the system, we think that it works great; it's better than our previous system. I mentioned to my office manager the other day that I was thinking about changing software (as a joke). She said "No, I love my Eclipse. It never breaks down."

Recommendations to other buyers: I saw a review on here where a doctor said the chat feature and kiosk feature didn't work over the wireless. I had some similar problems that I contacted the vendor about, and they assured me the problem was in my hardware. Thinking myself quite computer literate, I didn't really think that was correct, but I listened. I then called my router company and was on the phone with hardware tech support for many hours, and they assured me that there was nothing wrong with my router. I came back and told the vendor that, and he came back and assured me that there was a problem somewhere in my router; it just hadn't been found. I actually started to get a little irritated, but I tried to listen further to what he had to say. I then decided to try a little test, and I brought the router from my house and hooked it up at my office. The kiosk and chat feature worked fine on the router I replaced it with! After that, I bought a brand new router for my office and hooked it up, and everything worked fine. We're not actually using the kiosk yet, except in limited application, but I now know it works, and I know the problem was within our router, even though the router technical support company could not find any problems. These things happen, and I'm glad the vendor was relatively patient with me when I kept saying the problem was with their program rather than my own network. That was a little embarrassing.

Still does not function to its fullest.

Pros: The product is easy to learn.

Cons: In the beginning, I could never get through to tech support, but that has gotten better. We have had several computer techs in the office to get the Kiosk and office chat to work. They still do not work, and all the help from GalacTek has not fixed it either. The tablets we were told would work did not work with the program. So we ended up selling them at half the price we paid for them.

Recommendations to other buyers: Be sure that the software recommended will actually work.

We appreciate your frustration. As you learned when you called our HELP Desk, these features ¿ which run on thousands of computers nationwide -- can potentially be blocked by your Anti-Virus software, your Windows settings, and/or your network switches and routers. The problem is very specific -- both the KIOSK & Office Chat will function reliably the instant it¿s corrected by a network technician with the requisite MCSE designation. Generally, this issue is quickly resolved. We¿re sorry that your computer/network problems have upstaged & overshadowed primary features of ECLIPSE such as documentation, scheduling and billing.

Pros: Training and help desk are very supportive. They help teach the software and have been the saving grace to learning how to implement in our clinic

Cons: Help features are hard to use. It needs more specific guidance about the types of reports, etc. available.

Recommendations to other buyers: Think about your needs and technical capacities before reviewing software. This is a great software program, but it requires some skills, and you may not need all of the great features.

We certainly appreciate your praise for our HELP Desk. However, your comment: ¿The ledger sometimes does not calculate percentages correctly¿ is misleading ¿ since that¿s not actually what you experienced. When Andrea called for help on 7/31/2014, she discussed entering services before adding insurance info for the patient. ECLIPSE can¿t calculate how much a patient owes until you¿ve entered some basic insurance information. Of course, you can update responsibility in seconds during or after service entry. And ECLIPSE will automatically re-calculate percentages as you manipulate other fields (e.g. Units) during the edit process once you¿ve updated insurance information. We¿re also somewhat puzzled by your inventory comments. Though ECLIPSE does not contain robust inventory capabilities, it *has* been handling inventory & inventory reporting for decades -- including sales tax calculations -- for health care providers across the USA.

Pros: One of the best features of Eclipse is its ability to be able to customize the features to the needs of the office. That is why I feel so comfortable recommending it to my friends. It doesn't matter if they are PT, OT, Chiropractic, or Medical, Eclipse can handle everything.

Cons: To be honest, after using the software for over 14 years, there isn't anything I can think of to complain about. The support is wonderful, and we still have the same sales rep and trainer that originally trained our office. They keep updating to keep up with the times.

Recommendations to other buyers: One of the things I think is unique to Eclipse is that any forms you use can be replicated and used electronically in Eclipse. Also, Meaningful Use is easy to do in Eclipse. We have received our money for Meaningful Use the last three years. While my colleagues have changed software two or three or more times through the years, I can happily say we have never considered changing our software. Eclipse has always kept up with updates that were needed. The great thing about Eclipse is if you are on support, you never have to pay for updates. They are easily downloaded from the internet. One of the things I like best is that although we are a medical office, I have close friends using Eclipse who are chiropractors, and they also LOVE the program.

Pros: Eclipse software works very well. What I am speaking of is the lack of glitches, freezes, or other malfunctions. Our rep is golden. He will make sure everything goes well and certainly will do anything within his power to ensure happiness with Eclipse.

Cons: The learning curve takes a bit of time, but it feels worth it, as it is now part of my process.

Recommendations to other buyers: Remember that, like any software, Eclipse is a tool. You have to work using the tool. I use every aspect of Eclipse to my business advantage (Kiosk, ChiroMatrix web form, etc.). If you take the time to integrate the Eclipse process into your practice you will ultimately save time. I collect more money using the Encounter note system than I ever did using travel cards, and as a bonus, I am legal! I am getting paid so much faster than before because the notes are spot on.
