### "The fun yet professional organizational tool"

March 15, 2026

4.0

I’d describe my overall experience as good. It does have it’s disadvantages, such as the limit on dashboards and the small number of free templates, but it also has many advantages that make virtual teamwork easier and faster. Once you get the hang of it, it becomes a very useful and even fun tool!

Pros

What I most enjoyed of Miro is that it turned out really fun and easy to use for making mental maps, flowcharts and diagrams. It helps automatizing the creation of these tools, because it’s a big dashboard without space limits, and you just need to add the elements you want without worrying about the space limit (if it’s going to be too small or too big). It’s also very collaborative, which is something’s that stands out when you got to work with groups of coworkers; it has been a game changer for me and my peers when it comes to teamwork and organizing our works and projects. It feels fun, chill, but professional at the same time. The navigation in the platform is fast and intuitive; you don’t need to type much to find what you want. Talking about the elements, I was thrilled when I saw the variety of cool things (Colorful post-its, arrows, pie charts, bar charts, etc) you can add to make the dashboard more organized and easier to digest. Loved that!

Cons

For the cons, the one that stood out the most for me, is that the free version doesn’t let me create more than 3 dashboards at the same time, because when I need to open many dashboards for the big projects, then I need to use another tool or just try to adjust to the limit it is giving me, and it’s not really comfortable.

### "Easy to use whiteboarding and charting tool with some administrative limitations"

January 4, 2026

4.0

Miro has been a solid tool overall. It’s easy to use, makes it simple to visualise ideas using templates and drag-and-drop, and it’s great for sharing and collaborating. We’ve used it effectively to scope a CRM build and to map out requirements in a way that’s easy for others to understand. The main downsides are that structured diagrams don’t export in a useful hierarchy, overlapping items can be painful to work with because of the layers, and it would be better if you could add more detail to items without cluttering the board.

Pros

It is very easy to use. The click and drag interface and the templated actions make visualising data and concepts easy. It is also easy to share and collaborate with others. The free licence tier makes it easy for others to join in.

Cons

Though the data in flowcharts and mind maps are in a structured hierarchy, Miro does not export the data in that structure. Especially for csv the data comes out in one column and in the order in which it was added to Miro, which is illogical. Items on the board that cross each other or overlap are difficult to work with as the item you want might be buried behind other items. Miro operates its layers like Powerpoint, which is equally difficult to use. I find myself sending foreground items to the back multiple times to get to the item I want. Miro is only two dimensional. In my mind maps I want to be able to provide more information about an item in the map but the only way to do that is to create another label or postit note. I would love to be able to provide depth to an item where someone could hover and read a description of that item. Also, from an administrators perspective Miro only makes content created by my organisation visible to me in the enterprise tier, which is expensive. I cannot see what my staff are doing in Miro, therefore handing over from one employee to another is very difficult.

Alternatives considered

[draw.io](https://www.capterra.com/p/166985/draw-io/)[Lucidchart](https://www.capterra.com/p/146136/Lucidchart/)

Reason for choosing Miro

Miro is the most user friendly. These other applications are more cumbersome. Though they are cheaper, so you have to weigh that up.

Switched from

[Visio](https://www.capterra.com/p/201133/Visio/)

Visio's interface is quite clunky. They should ditch the offline app and just move to online only and invest time in making the interface more user friendly. That's where Miro is better

### "Miro review"

January 28, 2026

This is used in my team daily to ensure we can map out processes. It does create great process maps which are a great visual to display to understand what we are doing in our process and to share with stakeholders

Pros

My current team are designing a new app within our business , to allow us to map out the project we use Miro and integrate with Jira tickets to see the bigger picture on Miro.

Cons

I feel its quite hard to navigate around , I find unless you know the full ins and out of Miro its quite hard to draw out a flow chart etc

### "Miro & miroverse"

September 24, 2025

5.0

my overall experience is very positive, i use it in most of my workshops. and my teams are very happy with the way we use it. If you're looking to help your creativity, collaborate and have fun while getting things done, this is a great tool.

Pros

i like how it adapts to the current contexts (working from home, distributed teams. It is a very useful tool for brainstorming, collaborating and very easy to use. You can use it for management. It's a tool that is adaptable to different industries (eg, iT, Health, etc) . My company pays mi license and it has a great ROI. And if you want to go deeper into understanding miro , they have available workshops and courses for FREE. And you can become a creator (miroverse), so there are different layers where miro helps.

Cons

If you have an endless board it might take a bit to load but nothing major. I am talking of a real big board.

### "Digital Whiteboard Tool that I Give an Overall Rating of 10/10"

September 17, 2025

Creative management through Miro has been one of the main benefits that I relish on my end at my current position.

Pros

Miro enables us (teams) to brainstorm, plan and execute work visually. I like that it offers collaboration features that help improve ROI through real-time engagement and meetings.

Cons

For over four years now that I have been using Miro to collaborate visually, it has never failed to accomplish my needs.

### "Visual Collaboration of All Times: Miro"

September 7, 2025

5.0

Planning, tracking and collaborating on projects has been seamless with Miro. Project collaboration is another great experience that I have had with Miro.

Pros

Miro’s intuitive user interface (UI) makes it easy to access features. I like that Miro enhances real-time collaboration which boost performance across all departments in my organization.

Cons

The previous version was lagging when the board was loaded with too many elements - the current version is flawless anyways.

### "Sophisticated Digital Workspace "

August 20, 2025

Pros

Miro enhances cross-team collaboration regardless of geographical location of time zone disparities that help improve collaborative work for teams in my organization. Some of the features that I like most in Miro are such as task management, PPM, remote work and file sharing.

Cons

I used to lack some features in the free tier which is now a history since I upgraded to the premium version which does not limit features.

### "Versatile and powerful"

March 14, 2026

5.0

I use Miro regularly for workshops, trainings, and brainstorming sessions with clients, and it's become hard to imagine running those formats without it. The flexibility, the depth of features, and the fact that most people already have it in their toolkit makes it a reliable go-to. It's one of the few tools where the visual format actually adds value rather than just adding steps.

Pros

Miro fits naturally into how I work as a freelancer. The visual whiteboard is flexible enough to handle anything from structured workshop flows to open brainstorming sessions. Most clients already know it, which saves a lot of onboarding time. The feature set is deep without feeling overwhelming once you're in it.

Cons

The free plan is limited - you'll likely need a paid tier to get the most out of it for client work.

### "Excellent ops tool"

January 8, 2026

4.0

excellent for visual thinking and workflow mapping in operations using the free version, it really helped us iterate on process design but we won't be using the full system at this time.

Pros

We specifically tested Miro for its operational capacities. It really shines at helping ops teams visualize complex workflows and dependencies. Mapping processes, swimlanes and bottlenecks on an infinite canvas makes it easier to see where work stalls and who owns what. Real-time collaboration and templates help teams align quickly and linking boards to work in other systems (via integrations) keeps things connected. We found it especially useful for cross-functional planning sessions, retros, ops playbooks, etc.

Cons

If you need structured task assignment, or resourcing built in, you might still need complementary tools? Boards can get messy without disciplined organization (even though that is the same in most tools). We didn't test it out with the whole team, but intuitively it feels like some teammates would struggle with the freeform canvas at first.

### "Miro Makes Team Collaboration Simple and Fun"

Overall, my experience with Miro has been great. It has made collaboration more effective and creative, especially for remote teams. It’s a tool I genuinely enjoy using and would recommend to others.

### "Absolutely brilliant and no going back!"

January 20, 2026

5.0

A wonderful contribution to the world of data and idea visualisation. Easy and accesible for all ages and types of people. Made easier with a desktop and mouse, but equally at home on an iPad. You can spend hours expanding your visualisations with a smile on your face. A joy to use and so useful for teaching, learning and other project visualisation applications

Pros

I absolutely love Miro. It has helped me with teaching tasks, presentation tasks, group collaboration and simply visualising ideas and structures. It is incredibly well designed and thought through. It looks beautiful and is a joy to use. They have very appealing licenses for Universities which makes getting everyone onboard a breeze. Really reccomend for a wide range of uses.

Cons

It is hard to find fault with Miro, but it might simply be that it takes a tiny bit of time and commitment to learn the ropes and become a creative genius. The time is well spent though, as once you master the art of creating engaging designs and presentations it is hard to imagine going back to anything else.

### "Miro is essential for our collaborative work"

March 20, 2025

5.0

I create dashboards to illustrate our security processes and map different possible scenarios of cyber attacks. I can present complex information simply so I can see the picture clearly. I design and monitor security protocols and quick responses to vulnerability incidents. Real-time collaboration is beneficial for simulating scenarios and responses.

Pros

We can work in real-time, simultaneously, and in the same space. This is great for creating and sharing security protocols and analyzing risks among all team members. The software is very easy to use, so we can concentrate on applying the functions efficiently without distractions. We can integrate Miro into our workflow seamlessly. Miro meets security standards, so we don't have to worry about the data we enter into the app.

Cons

I would like to be able to customize the access controls more. I feel that company data is secure in-house, but I want to safeguard it more.

Pros

I like about Miro, the easy way to contribute with other people at the same time about a project and the usefull tools that they provide.

Cons

What I don't like about Miro is that the mobile side doesn´t work well nd crush really easily. Because sometimes the whiteboard is too big, there is extra downloading that makes things hard.

### "A fun, eye-catching collaborative tool."

July 15, 2025

4.0

I have used Miro for my apprenticeship classroom weeks as well as when working with designers for our new website at work. It is really easy to share collaboratively in whatever format works best for you and I enjoyed the interactive methods, it made things a lot more fun during otherwise dull discussions and is great to come back to or export.

Pros

It's really easy to share ideas in real time and collaborate as a team to be able to come back to. It works really well in a learning setting, I used it a lot for my apprenticeship. It's so easy to drag in images or add a post-it.

Cons

I almost feel like there are too many features or it can be confusing knowing where to start with a board or picking the best feature. Not necessarily a con!!
