March 7, 2019 5.0 Pros We started off using RTB for big, heady workshops - design thinking, kanban, etc with remote teams - no more "taking picture of a whiteboard, transcribing it into \[insert random comfortable tool here\], sending non-collaborative bitmap out to team" procedures, just one great tool. And then we realized that it could be used for so much more! Org charts, mind mapping, small kanbans for things like kitchen duty or office chores or whatever! Also impressed with just how often they update it with new features (including iOS apps), and sometimes the simple act of seeing someone else move a sticky around in realtime is just fun. Cons Nothing comes to mind, if there was one thing it would be that the export viewport thing is a bit hard to get right unless you've screwed it up at least once before, to know what to do the next time. Seems like a small thing to gripe about! You can use it for a lot of things with a lots of people working with you at the same time. Pros This is a very good software, that helps especially when you have working from home. There are a lot of uses and it's easy to use them all. Lots of good templates as well. Cons It used to be slow sometimes but I think they fixed it mostly. This allows me to keep my workflow centralized. Miro's sense of whiteboard platform is designed for teams to brainstorm, mind map, and collaborate visually. This can be a much more engaging way to work together compared to traditional text documents. Miro integrates with O365 suite (OneDrive for Business, MS Teams), which is a phenomenal advantage. Pros Miro is super easy to use, the business stakeholders I work with (Process Improvement team) didn't have any issues with learning how to navigate in Miro, how to create new boards and build their first process maps. It's very helpful when performing online workshops and working sessions where there is a need for brainstorming, ideation and process mapping. Cons Starting off with an empty canvas was quite difficult for some business users, especially those who haven't used a whiteboarding tool before. It's easy to create workflows and take notes. You can also collaborate in real-time and easily share access to content. It is amazing how fast and smooth the web experience is even with multiple (16+) participants. Second is the flexibility of it. My company created various templates for retro and other meetings and we can easily choose which one we would like to use. It is also extremely easy to group items together and quickly ask people to vote on them. And for example you can also play music while you are waiting for the timer to finish. All in all it makes our team meetings and collaboration fun. Cons The "native application" does not feel native. I think it is just a web page wrapper. I really enjoy well crafted applications on my Macbook Pro but this does not feel like one. It is not a deal breaker as the website works well but the only negative things which is worth mentioning in my opinion. Pros Miro comes with an extensive set of diagramming templates and icons - for example, for AWS, Azure, etc. These are very useful when I need to diagram a Cloud-based software/system architecture. I can drag the icon onto the palette and quickly 'wire' data flows or system calls to create my diagram.This is useful when explaining how the different systems (applications, data sources, users, etc.) are integrated and interact with customers. It helps them to visualize my recommended solution architecture and make it easier for me to explain the solution.It's the modern equivalent to a whiteboard session...perfect when we have teams that are remote (or working from home because of the pandemic) and we can't get everyone together for an interactive, in-person session. Cons Some of the user interactions with Miro are not intuitive. For example, you need to right click (and hold) to move the palette (i.e. pan). I always try to left click and drag because that's the way that most tools allow you to pan an image. It's frustrating, but not a deal breaker. Review Source JC Janet C.
