### "Great VCS for open source"

June 28, 2025

5.0

Fantastic VCS tool, no complains really. Would highly recommend to anyone looking at a publicly setup VCS.

Pros

Easy to use, simple to extend, and can plug into multiple other applications easily. Highly extensible with tons of plugins to make it more powerful

Cons

Enterprise can be a tad bit expensive. The actual UI is a bit clunky and not as easy to understand everything

### "Github is great but can be better"

May 30, 2026

4.0

I use GitHub mainly for school and personnal projects, but recently I switched to selfhosted GitLab to see different things and I don't think I can go back now :)

Pros

Its a good platform to start with, it works, is quite easy to use and widely approved by the community

Cons

The fact that it's owned by a corporation and closed source. You cannot take full control over it. This is why I prefer open source tools like GitLab

### "Solid project managing and source control system"

August 21, 2025

5.0

Pros

Github is one of the best collab platforms for develing, the addition of projects makes it much easeier to manage what is going on accross platforms.

Cons

Alot of the intergrations cot more money, which is a shame. And it seems some basic features such as branch locking as hidden behind a paywall now.

### "Amazing for students"

October 10, 2025

5.0

I use it every day and extensively. As a student, I use it for my class projects with my classmates and outside of class I use it for hosting my project ideas. I really like seeing what the community is building and the 'explore' feature is what sold me over competing websites.

Pros

The ease of use for students and beginners alike. From creating a student account and getting pro features for free to making your own repository and collaborating with peers with a few clicks. Everything is seamless from the git cli to the website.

Cons

The integration of AI is integral to advancing the space of collaborative development, but the ethics and privacy of it is often questioned, especially with Microsoft backing it.

### "Trustworthy repository hub of campaign technology."

December 26, 2025

5.0

It has proved to be a reliable source of scripts, landing pages, and automation regarding our mobile campaigns without stalling the sales impetus.

Pros

I also prefer the ease with which changes can be reviewed, actions can be triggered and everyone can be coordinated in situations that require quick approvals on the campaign.

Cons

I do not like that first structure and approvals may bewilder other team members who are not technical and I tend to take them through the fundamentals.

### "Gold Standard Repo"

February 20, 2026

5.0

Overall great experience. GH is still the gold standard for repos and is baked into the workflows for many orgs.

Pros

Great free tier for personal use, fast and easy to create repos and push code, Actions make deployments easy and great integrations with IDEs.

Cons

Sometimes can be noisy. Builds can run slow on occasion. Copilot use is getting a little pushy. Can have a learning curve for those not familiar.

### "Convenient project management and deployment "

March 3, 2026

5.0

Always pleased with any project I am working on. Contacting the Devs for support is a breeze to have issues resolved in a timely manner everytime.

Pros

Super easy to use. All commonly used functions are always laid out in a very user friendly layout to allow easier navigation.

Cons

Nothing major at all. If I had to say something I would maybe like to see improvement of access to files in repos.

### "Best Collaboration tool for developers"

July 10, 2025

5.0

Pros

The best thing about Github is Collaboration feature. When a developer creates a pull request, other collaborators with access to the repository can view the proposed changes.

Cons

The least I like about is, it cannot host large sized files. Other than that there is nothing to complain about.

### "GitHub easy to use"

April 1, 2025

GitHub is an incredible platform that excels at fostering collaboration and innovation among developers. Its tools, like version control and pull requests, make teamwork seamless. However, it can be a bit challenging for beginners due to its complexity. Overall, it’s a powerful hub for coding and community.

Pros

GitHub is amazing because it simplifies collaboration with tools like version control and pull requests.

Cons

GitHub can be challenging for beginners due to its complexity, and advanced features may feel overwhelming for casual users. Have you experienced this?

### "Excellent Version Control Collaboration"

March 11, 2026

5.0

Pros

The strong community support I believe is the greatest point on GitHub. Can get code reviews easily from community. It's remote friendly, I can have access to my repos from anywhere. It integrates with Azure DevOps, Jenkins and other third parties, which is great to enhance automation workflows.

Cons

No major issues found, but I'd say at the beginning found it a bit challenging with Git commands, branching and merging.

### "GitHub ist das Zuhause für Entwickler"

May 31, 2026

### "GitHub Made Development Easier"

September 22, 2025

4.0

My overall experience with GitHub has been really positive. It’s a powerful platform that makes collaboration, version control, and project management much easier. While there’s a bit of a learning curve at the beginning, once you get used to it, it becomes an essential tool that I rely on regularly.

Pros

I really like how easy GitHub makes it to collaborate with others through pull requests and issues. It’s also great being able to track changes and roll back to earlier versions when needed. On top of that, I enjoy being part of such a large open-source community where I can learn from other projects and share my own work.

Cons

I think the thing I like least about GitHub is that it can feel a bit overwhelming at first, especially with all the different features and settings. Sometimes the interface can be a little confusing, and it takes some time to figure out where everything is.

### "My review of GitHub"

November 26, 2025

5.0

Overall, GitHub is easy to use. There are many features that make developing software in a team environment easy. Also, it is quick to setup and migrate from other version control tools.

Pros

I like that GitHub is a very intuitive version control tool to use. There is a huge community that uses GitHub and if I ever run into problems, it is very easy to find a solution on Stack Overflow.

Cons

There is a lot of downtime with GitHub. I am unsure what the service level agreement is with GitHub but in my career as a software developer, it has gone down at least 10 times.

### "An essential everyday tool"

March 17, 2025

5.0

Github is an essential tool for those who work as programmer, both alone and in a team. If you use it alone, it offers version control, access to code from web UI, actions for deployment and continuous integration. If I use it within a team, it allows you to control the work of collaborators, create pull requests and predict the impact of changes, discuss pull requests through a dedicated commenting gui, track issues and discuss them with collaborators. "Projects" is another powerful tool to manage development end deadlines in a team workflow, but even if you work alone is very useful to organize development.

Pros

My favourite features of Github are: - "issues" to track and discuss feature requests and bugs - pull requests to propose changes and discuss them in comments by dedicated UI - github actions for automatic deployment and continuous integration - "Projects" form project management

Cons

I can't find anything that doesn't fit my current workflow and my team's one.

### "Best code storage platform ever made"

March 2, 2025

5.0

I had great experience with Git hub which made my code easily available from any device, there was also in build deploy feature for static web application, It best and most recommended platform to learn.

Pros

It is a one of the best platform to store the code and allow team members to work on same project simultaneously without having conflicts.

Cons

As I used git hub to store my store far more there was no cons I got for it, It was very easy to learn just had little tricky to understand UI to resolve conflicts which issue was resolved in git desktop (application of git hub).

### "The best version control tool out there."

March 25, 2025

5.0

Overall it's easy to use in a team where multiple people work on the same code. PRs, issues and merges are straight forward. I love being able to see who's done what and when. Makes troubleshooting a breeze.

Pros

I love how easy it is to keep ensure I have version control of my codebase, and how it hooks up with 3rd party services to make it easy to link tasks with PRs.

Cons

For non-hardcore developers like myself it can be challenging to setup sometimes, but it's a small downside compared to the benefits.

### "Quality, gold standard product "

December 29, 2025

5.0

Overall, a great experience. Similar to other products in the space, such as Gitlab and Bitbucket. No issues implementing.

Pros

GitHub is the gold standard Git implementation. Incredibly easy to use, feature-rich, easy to get started, and reasonably priced.

Cons

As with any software, you need to have an understanding of the feature-set and the task you wish to accomplish. Occasional downtime may result in minor interruptions but isn't frequent enough to be a significant issue.

Pros

It is a great tool for collaborative teams remotely distributed, easy to seetup, it is very intuitive and easy to learn with a very gentle learning curve, and great code editor features.

### "GitHub: The Best tool of Web Development , Code Tracking and Collaboration"

March 17, 2025

5.0

I highly rate GitHub and i give it a 5/5 Rating. Using GitHub gives me the ability to track changes in my code and rollback to previous version of a code if i break something. I am able to view when i made a certain commit and rollback to that software version of the product am building thereby saving time. Furthermore, working with other developers is great! using GitHub branch features, i can work with other developers by working on different parts of a website or software without breaking the live version of the product.

Pros

What i like most about GitHub is the branching feature. This feature allows multiple developers to work on different features of the same software without breaking the overall product. Once a developer makes their changes on their end they send a pull request to the Senior developer or project manager who checks the code and later merges/Integrates it with the other live version of the product without breaking it!

Cons

GitHub meets all my needs. In terms of code tracking, collaboration with other develop

GitHub has become an absolutely essential tool for our development workflow. As the leading platform for version control and code collaboration, it offers an unmatched ecosystem for managing code, reviewing changes, and shipping software efficientl

Pros

Version control with Git: Branching, merging, pull requests, and commit history are all handled flawlessly, making team collaboration smooth and reliable. Pull Requests & Code Reviews: The PR workflow is intuitive and powerful — inline comments, suggested changes, required reviewers, and status checks make code reviews efficient and structured.

The Overall experience is Great and the features GitHub provides makes it the best in its field as it has features like code revert , pull requests which help in open source and thus it provides a great learning platform

Pros

The thing I like most about GitHub is its open source capabilities and also that multiple people can work on same code with the help of pull requests

Cons

The thing I don't like about GitHub is that it is not completely safe for important codes as it is mainly an Open source.

September 6, 2025

Pros

GitHub is a really good platform for team collaboration when working for project development, resolving bug and issues. It has different features, such as portfolios and automatic properties for coding. It is easy to use and it has helped me and my boyfriend who is studying as a computer engineer.

Cons

For the normal user, it is not that intuitive at the beginning even if it is easy to use. You have to know a bit of coding or pipelines, and have a good team to merge your project and make it work.
