### "Version Control"

March 13, 2020

5.0

Pros

I don't know how many time we have over written projects, or sometime visual studio crashes and your project doesn't open. At first i thought i could do cloud backup of my project folders so i decided to use dropbox but still every time you sync your folders you lose the previous version of your project, the only other way was to save the project different time with different name but still it was a lot of work, so i decided to try out github, its in the cloud, no fears of hard drive crushing and losing all your code. One simple commit will save you the headache of losing your project and tracking the project version. The only problem was i saved with is giving names for each commit which have a useful meaning.

Cons

If you are a beginner the process of creating a repository for already started project can be so hideous.

### "Fast and Easy way to share Source Code for Coders!"

It's fast and easy software to collaborate with and share source code with other people who code.

Pros

It loads source code with one click. You can quickly and easily share the link for the source code across multiple platforms.

### "Nothing can do better source control than github"

May 4, 2019

4.0

Many teammates are working at the same time on same project , it makes our work more productive. There are many branches to work on and all the changes can be merged easily. It has been regular version control system for our team.

Pros

All the version control is very user friendly with short linux like commads. You must understand the basics but once learnt it is very easy. You can make multiple branches to work with your friends. You can also test at the same time. The release and the production can be separated. The changes chain is very intuitive and we can go through what changes have been there in the project. You can easily setup new system with pull requests. Most ide's support the github integration which is a big boon for github users.

Cons

There must be basic understanding about github but trust me it is worth it. You will love using github once you are started.

### "A coder's time saviour"

August 5, 2022

5.0

I usually refer my GitHub profile over my resume to people I work with. So that they could actually take a look at my code. And the amazing fact is that I could host a website for myself more like a portfolio which is very important for a fellow freelancer like me.

Pros

The thing I best liked about GitHub is the fact that I could keep my code safe and secure and can edit it anytime I want. Also I could just add a branch to my source code to add a feature before I actually add that to my source code which is very helpful. And the fact that I could watch lots of ongoing projects and take part in it which is very helpful for beginners like me.

Cons

When I started using GitHub, it was a bit difficult. But then, GitHub has multiple tutorials to help us out. It didn't even take me much time before I figured out how it works and I could I make use of that.

### "Github the best tool to preserve the source code for project management"

April 26, 2022

5.0

I am overall satisfied with Github. No complain. But obviously some room for improvement to make it more convenient to use like fast web update.

Pros

Github is Easy to access for users like me. I like its user interface which is very easy to use. Mostly I like the static website presentation tool to showcase my portfolios.

Cons

Some time, it takes time to update the website using github although i changed information manually. Its annoying and it needs to be updated soon.

### "Github is a great and very popular version control system which helps a lot in code management"

September 20, 2019

4.0

Github is always a good investment as it makes the whole coding process smooth. It help for collaborative development and also for auto deployment etc. through integrations

Pros

Github basically helps in storing and sharing a repo/project with the peers who are collaboratively working on the code. It can also help as a backup store even when we work alone on the project. The features provided such as, pull request , integration with many CI tools and SDKs, code quality assurance and the amazing technical support. Github also provides continuous feature improvements and support.

Cons

There's an learning curve / time taken to get used to git might slow us at the beginning. But over time it is easy to use.Chances of bugs and crashes happening is there , but they can be resolved pretty fast. It does cost money to have a private repo and also for enterprises.

### "Github Is Dveloper's Magic Tool"

March 6, 2020

5.0

GitHub helps me to back up my projects, its main aim is different which working with team in a collaborative manner and share your code or recourse and merge it without interfering with others code. It allows us to create and maintain branches which is good option, it allows the freedom of doing your work on the development branch while the production branch is live and Testing branch is used by the QA team, so yes its a great option to work with ease.

Pros

Centralizing all the resources related to the same project becomes very easy is Github. It allows us to work on the same project within the same room or remotely and then merge it properly. Maintain old history with all the possible details who made that change with his id, time and all that which help to figure out how to fix the problem and who is responsible for this.

Cons

It forces use a command-based interface that's why some of my colleagues feel uncomfortable using it. Maintaining project large team becomes very hectic if all are working on same module. All the way it's a good option to maintain a backup of each and every change around the whole team.

Reason for choosing GitHub

I choose GitHub over other options is because of its easy to use and gives better security, and most people use this over the world.

### "Github is a tool which helps to manage team source code work detail."

August 5, 2018

4.0

it is over all good experience.

Pros

what I like in Github is You can just commit your code without interacting with server. For any team it is common platform where they can centralized team work and track source code history for each team member because in a team it is most difficult for anyone to remember each member work record.IN GITHUB each member has their own folks where they can keep their source code so their is no need to directly put your changes in application.Team can make many branches as per their requirement and keep file their. IN GITHUB there are so many feature which make easy to interact with eclipse.

Cons

Many times its happen when we commit more then 5 files in GITHUB ,it miss few files,it is very slow some time. Some time your changes dose not reflect on git so you need to do same thing more then 2 time.

### "GitHub Review"

March 16, 2019

5.0

Everyone that has ever learned anything code-worthy or has ever worked on a coding project for a company has used GitHub, the hosting repository is so popular in fact, that even Google uses it! A company can assemble a team of the best of the-best developers from anywhere across the entire globe and as long as there is good communication flowing between the team leader and the coders, any project can run smoothly and efficiently on GitHub.

Pros

What I like so much about GitHub is not only the ease of accessibility, but also the opportunity that it delivers to coders from around the world. With GitHub a team of web developers can be selected to work on the same coding project for the same company, yet they don't have to live in the same town or even be in the same city! A company can compile their "dream team" of web developers and put them all together on the same project. The company can check the developer's code and check the amount of work that their employees have done for the day, simply by logging in to that project that is loaded on to GitHub.

Cons

I guess what I don't like so much about GitHub is that while it does keep track of all of the changes that is being made to the code via the pull request, any project could still turn into a disaster, although human error could play a big role here. The problem is that any one of the developers that are working on the same project could go in to GitHub and change the code and without proper communication between coders, they could potentially write over someone else on the team's code by accident, or even reload the entire project so it will look different from the other person's code that is also working on the same project. That issue could could cause a whole lot of problems and frustration!

### "The greatest open source dive"

December 4, 2018

5.0

My job is marketing, and by description i'm far away from any code but my boss asks for results, and GitHub helped me achieve those results .. by providing free open source softwares and making a special tab called (issues) to ask and post questions to the original Poster of the script or even anyone with helpful knowledge to serve your need in a very friendly editor.

Pros

I like the idea of finding anything i needed .. i mean like any script, any help any idea i was struggling with on my code .. someone already thought about it and created a solution for it gave it to us free it's like the internet Santa <3

Cons

That i need to pay in order to keep my repository secret ... This should be exclusive to companies, but i'm a single user and i just wanna keep some codes safe for later .. if the could make it free secret repository that would be the best place to host a static website on their GitHub pages

### "Handle your code well, in essentially every context"

June 20, 2018

5.0

Most simply, hosting code and using it in various Continuous Integration contexts.

Pros

Github does most everything I want a git repository to do and does it well. Hosts code, allows (and facilitates) collaboration, has integrations that truly add value, has issues/pull requests that make sense, hosts static webpages with little effort, and so much more. Whether you're coding for yourself, within a large company, or involved in open source projects, Github deals with all of your concerns incredibly well (trust me, I've used it for all three use cases). There hasn't been a case where Github has blocked me from doing anything I need it to do, which is much more than I can say for other software. For something as simple as hosting code, Github has managed to do a whole lot more while still keeping it all focused on one thing: writing code.

Cons

The labelling system in Github issues isn't the best. With how incredibly freeform it is, every repository has their own complex system of labels. Projects is a decent feature, but making sense of all the issues a repository has (sometimes hundreds) is just overwhelming. It ends up just being an enormous list to parse and can be stressful to manage or just to search through.

### "Best End-to-end project management tool"

January 13, 2022

4.0

Pros

I have been using Github for almost 5years. It has been very convenient for me to use it for almost all my projects. The very vast set of tools to integrate with Github seems to be very impactful, like tools for Project management, Deployment, Debugging...

Cons

All integration and ease of use are very much good, but I feel its UX/UI can be made better. Somethings are been misplaced, I think better UI/UX can be make it more proper.

### "A house to share software"

July 22, 2019

4.0

With GitHub I have been able to find a lot of software that helps me complete my developments faster.

Pros

Without a doubt, what I like most about GitHub is the huge amount of repositories that exist. You can find almost everything you need to complement your development. Sharing free software nowadays is possible thanks to platforms like GitHub. If you are a software creator, you have a desktop application on the same platform where you can send code updates without much effort, it is very fast and intuitive. In its latest update, now you can have free private repositories, which makes GitHub a good option when it comes to keeping your code updated and secure.

Cons

There is not much to say against it. But I would like to see a more polished interface, like that of other platforms. However, that does not make it more difficult to use.

Pros

Cons

### "Excellent Code Base Management Platform"

June 6, 2022

5.0

GitHub enables me to push my personal projects to the remote platform, and create GitHub pages to display my projects and this is super helpful in showcasing my work to potential employers if they need to see what projects I have worked on.

Pros

Ease of use, user-friendly interface, open-source for everyone to use sufficiently even without the paid features that require subscriptions.

Cons

So far, no cons about this software that I can think of.

### "A Broke Developer's Friend"

April 28, 2022

5.0

I've tried other git repositories (GitLab, BitBucket, Gitea) but I always come back to GitHub.

Pros

A lot of free features from the get-go: private repositories, build minutes, storage, and almost everything that a solo developer/small business needs to start.

Cons

Nothing really. If I have to say something I don't like, it would have to be the "paywall" in front of some new cutting-edge features. (Co-pilot, Codespaces, etc)

### "Excellent set of tools provided for Version Control of Repositories and building CI/CD Pipelines"

February 9, 2022

5.0

Overall it's an amazing product with many features for collaboration, version control, automation, and security of code repository. There are many open-source products that offer similar functionalities independently - thus to set up all that GitHub offers you will have to deploy and maintain multiple open-source products which can become complex at times especially while troubleshooting. Hence GitHub is an inexpensive option that provides all that is needed to have a successful DevOps setup in any organization.

Pros

GitHub is widely used for DevOps by many organizations hence it has a very vast community to provide assistance when needed. It has a vast set of tools and features that support streamlining of DevOps processes in the organization. It has support for triggering events based on webhooks for third-party microservices like the Openshift platform.

Cons

Cleaning up a repo is not straightforward in GitHub and is a complicated process, if that can be fixed it can improvise repo management.

### "The excellence of a software management tool"

January 16, 2023

5.0

Pros

Pretty much everything. They have a great diversity of tools and features to let developers enjoy and organize their work, they also have a pretty decent issue management part. One of the things I like the most is the DevOps tools such as CI/CD they have a great library of templates that you can import and basically mount your own CI without any line of code, you just have to tell the UX which one you want to use.

Cons

Sometimes that much amount of features makes a mess and it's hard to find "that thing you need but you cannot find" since the settings of the repositories and the account are so big It's hard to locate what you need to change. Also the worst thing is that if your code is private, tons of this features are paid so if you want to have the features a big company has you'll have to pay for it.

### "Personalmente prefiero otros"

March 27, 2024

3.0

Pros
