Pros Everything about GitHub is absolutely perfect, I had been using it for so long, its the best way to manage code for development among the entire development team. Github allows keeping track of the changes done to the code from the first day of the project until the end, its excellent for reports generating as it also allows to keep track of each user changes and commits done to the repository. I use Github from the website also from the desktop version for Laptop and lastly from the command line which is my favorite way to manage the different project repositories. Cons At first, it will be a slow start to get used to Github as it contains lots of commands but once you get the hang out it, it's so easy to use. Review Source Ebenezer N. Since it is the mode widely used code hosting platform it's more preferred worldwide. Cons It has been the goto code repo for years and has been getting better and better over the years. I don't have any complaints regarding the software. I use it daily and is very easy to control code versions for a large team. Pros By far one of the best platforms to host any type of code. Once you learn how to use it, it allows you to manage code versions very easily, which is very handy for projects with many collaborators. Also, it has a great DevOps pipeline that are customisable. Github has a really nice engaged community for open source codes, encouraging tech discussion and issue solving. Amazing community support! Besides that, an education/student plan is offered, allowing to have private repositories. Cons Not very easy to understand and use at first. Also, I've had problems when I wanted to download a single file from a repository, I either had to download the entire project or copy paste the file I wanted, which was not very handy. Multiple branches that let's many people work, ability to save the code in cloud so that the code is backed up are the 2 most amazing features. Cons I feel a missing feature that can be added is the code search feature. Many times I have to clone a repo and then do a grep search. A large number of open source libraries are available on GitHub, so it is worthwhile to understand this stage. The ability to make personal files is something I have used before. Pros \* As a vault, this is incredible. It contains open source applications/code that almost anyone can fork and use.
