Great product to collaborate with colleagues on critical issues and tasks. Would definitely recommend!

It is the best software for the purposes it was created for. Easy to use once you learn its potential. Multiple features for interesting task.

### "The original (and still the best, or at least close to it) Git implementation out there!"

June 7, 2018

5.0

Version control for a cheap price!

Pros

GitHub is very reasonably priced per user and doesn't limit the number of private repositories. As a small business but with many clients, this has allowed us to create a great number of repositories for projects across all of our clients. Even if you're just playing around with something, you can add it to GitHub without having to worry about additional costs or limits. Plus you can tie your personal account to a Team account and not have to remember multiple logins!

Cons

There is a steep learning curve to Git (the platform behind GitHub), but once you get used to it, it's actually quite nice. I do wish they had some better visualization of what's going on inside the repository to track commits/PRs/merges/etc. That would definitely make it easier for novices to understand. Also I wish that Gists could be handled a little differently in terms of access.

### "GitHub concise review 2022"

January 14, 2022

5.0

My overall experience is great. imaging storing your app source code without GitHub. It is my best code repository so far.

Pros

GitHub software or website is a one-stop for me when it comes to code management and version control. GitHub helps me and our team to store and manage our project ( APP) source code as long as we want. We can easily update our app without issues to different versions. I also use GitHub when integrated with amazon web services to deploy my app and is easy to update my app with git push features. It is very cheap and has both private and public repositories for teams.

Cons

For me, GitHub is very good and verse. I only want them to design their desktop app in such a way that new users will understand and operate it with less supervision.

### "Github review from daily user"

April 15, 2022

This product is super useful and it serves as an indispensable tool for product development.

Pros

Github is free for the community but also available for enterprises. It has all the necessary tools you need to develop an application smoothly.

Cons

The number of new features rolling out is very limited in the long product history.

### "Programmers Rejoice! This is the best repo for our coding"

April 2, 2018

5.0

Coders Rejoice! GitHub makes coding (either individually or in teams) easy and secure. Versioning works great! It works like a time machine where you can easily go back and forth through time and versions of your work. Branching out your code works well for Open Source projects for parallel or collaborative work. Integrations to IDEs like Atom, to cloud platforms (Amazon, Google) are flawless.

Pros

Back in College we did not have this tool, and now that I'm working in an enterprise how I wish this app was already available before. GitHub makes coding (either individually or working in groups) easy and secure. Devs can easily commit, branch, and tag on one's local machine without interacting directly to the server. Collaboration is made easy. We can agree or disagree on code and just branch out as necessary. Version tracking helps a lot as a time machine to revert or just review one's work. There are many integrations that we use as well e.g., to Atom (IDE), Amazon and even Google Cloud.

Cons

To some people, the format of GitHub might seem intimidating at first and just works for programmers (e.g., not for a non-techy layman). So definitely, there's some learning curve to be expected. But once you get past that initial training, it's definitely the next best thing that will hapen to your coding career!

### "Github from a Designer and Product Managers Perspective"

January 10, 2018

5.0

Pros

As a designer and product manager I mostly use Github to document software and manage projects. I love using the Wiki to document what needs to be built. Being able to use hyperlinks makes organizing my thoughts easy, and allows readers to get as many details that they need. I also use it to break projects down into tickets and communicate what needs to be built with my dev team. Project Boards are my favorite way to visualize tickets, and make it easy to see what needs to be done, what is in progress, needs to be tested, and approved for production.

Cons

I wish the workflow for creating tickets was more streamlined. I often create tickets directly from Boards, but this requires you to create a note and then convert it to a ticket. Also, when you convert a note to a ticket it gives you a pop-up modal that allows you to provide more information, but the modal doesn't have all the features that the new ticket page has. So typically I create a note, convert it to a ticket, and the click on the new ticket on the board to provide additional documentation and add the proper tags. This needs to be streamlined.

### "GitHub:A Tool For Project Management and saving your work"

May 7, 2023

4.0

Pros

The best thing i like about GitHub is that you can save one part of code twice and make changes and save each stage of the work of the projectYou can also stash changes clone a whole project within seconds and many other things

Cons

The thing i found problematic was that GitHub is very complex and you as a begineer have to learn how to use itAlso the pricing is quite high and the enviroment of GitHub can be scary to newbies

### "Number 1 version control"

October 29, 2019

5.0

Is simply the best way of working with teams, everyone can work on their own tasks at the same time and then just put everything together.

Pros

You can manage wathever git feature here, in a simpler way, most of the times with UI direction and not only command lines; this saves a lot of time to control the work you do with it.

Cons

There has been a few times where the commits have caused issues when fetching from other places; this is different to conflicts, it just simply doesn't show any troubles but when you do a pull request and download what is up, the code is completely messed up (the same way as when you have conflicts, but without the warnings). This is a pain when it happens.

### "One of the best place to interchange the code and work effectively without any service delivery"

March 8, 2018

5.0

Pros

The best part of this software is we can exchange the large voice of the across the team members in almost all organisations we see maximum people using this even though there is SVN, other repository providing tools. This holds its importance in handling the code very secure robust. GitHub has various additional features like code commit and review and a place to comment the notes and an option to download the artifacts/builds. This tool made the business serve efficiently reducing the human intervention(or) involvement

Cons

There is nothing much about the cons since everything seems well as per software requirements. The UI part need much more enhancements like additional filtering options and unnecessary options to hide

### "the best code repository"

March 12, 2018

5.0

Pros

itHub is a git repository which provides public along with private git repositories. The private repositories are paid but the public repositories are free of cost however private repositories are not that expensive. There are many nifty features of GitHub like it has one of the best documentation among its peers, having public repositories enables developers and programmer community to communicate in your work and its has one of the best hosting services to host and run the project.

Cons

GitHub leans towards coders and programmers hence it cannot be understood by laymen. Hence there is a bit of learning curve expected. Also it should ease the operating of Git client for desktop. Rest all the features of GitHub are nifty.

### "Empowering Collaboration and Version Control of Codes "

April 28, 2023

5.0

GitHub provides powerful version control tools that allow developers to track changes made to their code over time. This makes it easy to revert to a previous version of code or to see who made specific changes and developers can easily find and contribute to open-source projects, and organizations can release their own open-source projects for others to use and contribute to.

Pros

GitHub provides a centralized platform for teams to work together on projects. Users can easily collaborate with each other, share code, and contribute to each other's work.

Cons

GitHub's public repositories are visible to anyone on the internet, which means that code can be easily copied and used by others without permission. However, GitHub provides options for users to make their repositories private, which requires a subscription.

### "The essential tool that every developer should know how to use."

August 28, 2019

5.0

It is an essential tool today, many companies have full repositories in github, my experience over the years has gone from best to best, as they constantly update the platform and are adding new functions and features, even now. You can try to get financing for your personal projects or open source.

Pros

It is the most used code repository, what I like most is that it allows me to share open source projects and be able to participate in other projects, which promotes fellowship among colleagues, is an essential tool for organizing large projects. It is very easy to handle branches, push, pull, merge, version management, backup, etc. It is extremely versatile, everything is also hosted in the cloud, so it can be accessed from any platform through the web browser, and access it. completely, another thing that I really like is the possibility of having a totally free personal repository.

Cons

This platform has improved a lot over the years, currently I find it difficult to find negative aspects, however, i could say that one aspect to consider when using github is that it is necessary to learn to manage the git command line, this can turn the learning curve somewhat steep.

Cons

I cannot think of anything bad about this. It has made project management very easy and smooth.

### "GitHub essential for code collaboration"

September 14, 2021

5.0

GitHub is an essential tool for our organization. Without it, app and website code collaboration would be a terrible mess!

Pros

We use GitHub for code reviews daily. The interface and template set up lets us design our pull requests to meet our needs. GitHub organizes our branches well and let's us view a history of code revisions.

Cons

Using GitHub desktop makes using some GitHub features easier. Learning Git commands in Terminal can be daunting for some users.

Overall I had the best experience with github and still using it for development process which makes it easy.

Pros

The best part about the github is that if allows us to track the version and and work on a projectbin collaboration where we can view edit and solve the errors by sending pull requests.

Cons

Overall github provides all the functionality for the development but it does not provide any testing tools which would have helped even more.

### "gilmar review of github"

June 14, 2020

5.0

overall my experience has been great. in fact i have met a few other like minded people on github. its great place to learn a bit of everything in software devlopment.

Pros

I like GitHub software because I can push my source code of my app directly to my android studio. and from the android studio back to the GitHub, so that if am working on mobile with other developers we can all share and be updated in a unified form

Cons

it's not free, you need to learn the program before you jump to private handling of codes. It takes a little bit of getting used to but after that it's fine. git hub desktop is also not so easy to learn but once you do you be sharing and updating directly from your studio machine. instead of going from GitHub site to software and back again.

### "My Experience with GitHub: Secure, User-Friendly, and Supportive"

April 15, 2023

4.0

Pros

GitHub is great because it's secure, easy to use, and has a huge community. I like that it keeps my code safe and is not complicated to work with. It's also nice that I can find help from other users whenever I need it. Overall, it's been a helpful and positive experience for me.

Cons

If there's one thing I didn't like about GitHub, it would be their privacy policies. While they have made strides to improve in recent years, I still have some concerns about how they collect, use, and share user data. Though it hasn't affected my experience on the platform, it's something that I am wary of and hope they will continue to address.
