### "Got to have Github"

December 14, 2021

5.0

All my repos are safe in a Github repository and that is great

Pros

I like how easy it is to share repositories either publicly or in a private project where you select the team members. Github helps understand the basics of git source control and also has a bunch of powerful integrated features and plugins. I like that you can integrate with heroku and have a live project synced. I like that you can host a simple page within a repo

Cons

I dont have many issues with github. I think that better tutorials in video format could help new developers learn the ropes faster

### "Breakthrough of Collaboration and Code sharing "

January 3, 2019

5.0

Github is a great platform and I'm glad it came in our time. Definitely a god-sent application.

Pros

I had a life changing experience in first time of using github. With just 5 simple commands i could install and start using github for version control. With an upgrade you can have a private repository, enlist collaborators from around the world and build world class versioned applications. This application has a vast community of developers, hence i literally get exact codes needed for my applications. The windows gitbash app is simple and friendly app for querying git repos. Besides the technical features, having a reputation on this great application means having more referrals, dev world recognition and respect.

Cons

There's a quite steep learning curve when it comes to working with branching, it's easy for a beginner to get lost and loose projects progress. Also,

### "Valuable product for high-scale"

Every software development team should use this. The platform has easy access to documentation, guides, and articles related to Git.

Pros

Today every software company is using repositories, but most companies using GitHub in their tech-stack to manage small or large-scale projects by multiple developers. By using pro features you will get better insights for your project and the team is able to see progress with progress tracking features and its extremely valuable.

Cons

I didn't have issues with this platform but from the overall experience there were only about more security and easier tracking of branches after merging

### "GitHub is a pretty powerful industry standard, and benefits from tons of integrations"

April 18, 2018

5.0

We love how well GitHub integrates with various 3rd party services we use, and we also make heavy use of GitHub's own internal integrations (Issues, for example). GitHub makes our source control a fairly seamless process.

Pros

GitHub's new pricing means we don't have to be stingy about throwing projects onto GitHub, and we make heavy use of various integrations (with other vendors like Rollbar and Heroku), which means that things just work seamlessly together. We've been happily using GitHub for years now.

Cons

Git has a relatively steep learning curve, but that's hardly GitHub's fault. GitHub has a few neat features that are useful but a bit buried (for example, comparing two arbitrary commits), but overall they leave you with little to complain about.

Plenty of storage for my projects and somewhat easy to retrieve past versions.

### "Experience in using GitHub"

January 18, 2022

5.0

We have created a website for all the students of Computer Studies in our School. And I am very amazed of what I learned from our professor in using this software. It is a user-friendly software. Of course I've been studying Information Technology for almost 4 years now. And I am fond in using software that are relevant when making projects. And I highly recommend it to all IT people or computer related courses.

Pros

What I like the most about this software is that in making repositories is much easier and a user-friendly experience for me. I and my classmates are fund of using Github for our professor practice us on utilizing this software enable for us to be familiar in using and be able to adopt the projects we made by utilizing this software and for us to use this in the long run.

Cons

For an amateur user things might get hard for them to understand some features of this software. And it is recommended for them to have at least a guide from a mentor on how to utilize this kind of software.

### "The toolbox"

August 30, 2019

5.0

I have repositories for: Proof of concepts projects, store notes and code for courses or classes

Pros

Is the tool with most acceptance along any developer team, in any organization, in any country. You can have a software developer that doesn't know a new technology or programming language. But, hi know what is GitHub and how to use it. It's a perfect place to store not only code, ideas, documentation...

Cons

It's very difficult some times to connect from git being behind proxys and enterprise firewall... but it's not GitHub fault..

### "A Leading Platform for Software Development and Collaboration"

January 31, 2023

4.0

Pros

GitHub is one of the most widely adopted platforms for software development and has a large community of users and contributors - it simply is the place where you'll find most open source projects. It offers a range of collaboration features such as pull requests, code reviews, issue tracking, and project management, making it easy for teams to work together.

Cons

While GitHub includes quite advanced project management tools, they are not as feature complete compared to dedicated platforms like Shortcut.

### "GitHub, one of the best repository tools."

December 18, 2017

4.0

There are many benefits it offers, the ability to maintain order in your projects, keeping track of the changes made by each programmer, with the ability to rollback in case of an error, taking care of the main branch of the project, it is essential when handling large projects.

Pros

GitHub has brought great benefits to my company, with this application we can maintain great projects, where a large number of programmers are involved, organized, functional and with full record of each change that is made on it, a very useful tool in many aspects, totally necessary when we talk about big projects.

Cons

It is a very complete application but it has failures on occasion, such as: Very long load times, it presents failures on occasions that make the programmer lose time. The merge in occasions is not precise, should be reviewed with care since the application makes mistakes in this regard. The cost is a bit high.

### "End-end Automated CI/CD & Code collaboration"

January 16, 2023

5.0

Pros

Developers like me have very simple and effective tasks because of features like website hosting and project evaluation and contribution. Students and professionals alike can benefit from hosting a website for free on GitHub because it allows us to practice and learn more.

Cons

One of the features of github is version control, although a beginner finds it challenging to use. The process for merging earlier versions is not properly documented. Additionally, a recent security policy change that prohibits the usage of a password when pulling a repository confused new developers.

### "GitHub a gold standard of source control"

March 28, 2022

4.0

Pros

The most likeable things about Github are Good documentation, Good availability of servers across the globe and github pages. Github pages allow to quickly setup a web documentation and examples for the public source code projects or your product APIs that makes it easier to communicate integrations and source codes easily.

Cons

One of the cones is security point of view. IT doesn't seem very much suitable for high value intellectual properties/ source codes. Although it has private repositories now but these are not quite enough. Another thing is price. If you have a large team; prices can quickly stackup.

### "Best repository hosting service on the market"

August 24, 2018

5.0

Overall, github as a versioning control system, is definitely worth the effort, time and investment as it can give you much more flexibility and peace of mind for any project. I would recommend github to be useful for anyone who codes.

Pros

I work on linux and other open source projects; as far as I am aware most of the open source projects are hosted on github because its free and included nifty features like wikis, issue trackers. One of the feature that makes using github so popular is using simple text editor for writing formatted documents and also there is vast documentation to get help. Since github is more like showcase of code we wrote, it can be used as marketing tool and put in resume; it is better than linkedin profile in my opinion. Also code versioning, integration with cloud platforms and syntax highlight for language support is second to none.

Cons

There is bit of learning curve during my initial days of github, but past that its smooth. Even though the free model is sufficient to get started on github, the versioning and some advanced features cost and comparatively prices are high on github in my opinion.

### "Who doesn't like Github"

January 25, 2023

5.0

Overall it was the best experience and I also loved the Github copilot it made me more productive because it was analyzing my code and answering my answers according to my code it was easy to use GitHub and I will forever use it till the day I retire.

Pros

I like everything about Github, The most favorite thing is branches because I can independently work on my project after creating a specific branch from the main and do whatever I like with the code without fear because I know even if I push the code it will not automatically merge in a main branch without generating pull request, and its integration with Vs code is the best thing ever because I can push, pull and commit everything in VS code without going to my terminal and it's so easy to use

Cons

I don't dislike a thing about Github because there is nothing to dislike.

### "GitHub your best choose!"

May 28, 2019

5.0

Pros

Github is a cloud-based hosting that uses git for code version manager, also brings several tools for deploys, creation of wikis and a issues control. Github is a handy resource if you need to develop a project with a team. Moreover, GitHub allows you to use unlimited private repositories. The security that GitHub and Git use the access credential based on the SSH key protocol. That means that all the data and process are reliable. Furthermore, You can use the Graphic tool-GitHub Desktop- where you can oversee all the status, changes, merges, and updates of your project with a friendly and handy interface.

Cons

On the early releases of GitHub Desktop tool, the configuration was a little bit annoying, and sometimes there was a latency on the data refresh process. But that minor problem was solved eventually on the new version of the app.
