### "Overall a good medical billing software"

Since they didn't have Medical Billing inhouse prior to KareoPM this has been a bonus for the office overall. Generally I am the only one utilizing it other than the doctor for reports.

Pros

The patient information and being able to attach documents for Worker Comp claims has been very beneficial. Running statements is very easy and a time saver, also have a rejection "bucket" and no response bucket is great for follow up. It was fairly easy to learn coming from a different Medical billing software once I got the hang of it. Customer service is very helpful and pleasant to deal with which is a plus.

Cons

The integration process was not difficult at all since there wasn't another system here previously it went very smoothly. Some report details I would like for Cashpacks is not available currently but Im working around it.

### "I wish I could go back. "

Very poor. This contract will not be renewed, and I’ll be speaking with our original sales rep soon to see what it takes to get out of the contract before it ends. Shame on this company.

Pros

Potentially the KPI’s (these are pending, and my hopes are low).

Cons

The customer service and account management is a joke. Our first success coach had no idea what was going on/what he was doing. It took WEEKS and constant follow-ups on my end to get assigned a new one. Then the same thing with ERA enrollment. I can hardly seem to get an email back from the person in charge of our enrollments. I eventually called and asked to speak with her. I was told she’d call me back later. Two days and 3 follow-up emails later, I miss her “call back” in which she 1) neglects to leave a voicemail and 2) emails back with “I just called you back but no response”, and a one sentence answer to my many questions. Finally, they have changed my login email without my knowledge, wouldn’t help me reset anything or retrieve my account despite having all info and being the admin, and after I got that resolved (on my own), I’m locked out once again because they have changed my password. I highly regret choosing Kareo.

Reason for choosing Tebra

I’ve researched multiple. We chose Kareo because it seemed to be the most supportive and educational choice considering we are in the process of moving billing in-house for the first time. They proved me wrong!

Pros

Easy to use for both the billers and the providers.

Cons

Generating reports is difficult when our providers ask for a specific a/r report. We had to pay extra to run certain reports that other billing software programs already have as standard reports.

We have been w/Kareo for 5-years. I would definitely recommend esp for someone w/a small office.

Pros

Reports are the best and you can see exactly what you need to by customizing.

Cons

Upon upgrades, there are occasional glitchen which are more annoying than anything but normally things are fixed right away. Being able to combine patients when you accidentally add him/her a second time would be a huge plus.

I love the no response files. If you work those, you will rarely ever have a timely filing issue again. I also really like how we can add suggestions to better the software and Kareo listens.

Pros

I love the ease of use with Kareo. You can literally sit down, bring up kareo and start billing if you just read the screens. I've worked off of other softwares including Athena, Epic etc and the ease of Kareo is definately refreshing.

Cons

I have a wish list of a couple i things I wish Kareo had. On the clinical side, i would to be able to set up Kareo notes that it would automatically pull the cpt codes into the superbill. On both sides, platform and billing, i wish Kareo would hook up with the NPPES file so when i search for a doctor or practice for referring purposes, all the info would be there.

We were going to look at other products. It just happened Kareo was first and it seemed to fit our demand. We did not look other software.

I am saving on paper, time and staff training. I enjoy using Kareo software it is to the points.

Pros

It simplicity, accessibility, easiness of the software makes things easier for staff and management.

Cons

I do not like that if you fail to save your contents right away when flipping to a new page by mistake, you have to write everything over. It needs autosave.

At first was good, but after the merger there was no help and fees to pay if I did need help, so I had to cancel it and pay until the end of my contract, which ended up costing more. Do not sign up for this EHR!

Pros

It was easy to use for the charting and put patients in the computer

Cons

They merged with another computer and the setup makes it very difficult from the insurance to the eprescribing, and setting up the lab, and I was told it would be $200 an hour for 1 on 1 help. So there was a great deal of time wasted and no help on the other end, so it was a total waste of money.

Reporting, posting payments, sending invoices, etc are all a breeze with the software. Customer service is without a doubt the most helpful and easiest of any vendor I've ever used.

Pros

The software is very easy to use after a few weeks of learning the in's and out's. I likely don't utilize half of what the software is capable of, but it's perfect for what I need.

Cons

I wish it was possible to integrate the Kareo Practice Management software with more than one EHR in my industry. It is only available for Medicfusion integration.

I actually fell into Kareo due to the EMR it was paired with. And then Kareo quickly became my favorite software I've used in my 10 years in practice. I've been with Kareo for approx 5-6 years and have consistently been pleased and have no plans to change anytime in the future, unless forced to for some unforeseen reason.

Tebra has been excellent in helping me. They were very supportive in answering all my questions. Everything was done in a timely manner. I would highly recommend I give them a 5 star review!!

Cons

They are super efficient and nothing wrong with that-but when billing is not put on time, multiple emails are sent which can be very irritating especially when you are busy seeing many patients

### "Things they should say before you sign up"

A disaster.

Pros

I have no positive comments other than some unique staff interactions that were not horrible.

Cons

MEDICAL RECORDS ARE OFTEN DELETED. The company has a disclaimer hidden in their service agreement stating they are not responsible for deleted medical records and provide no internal back up system. There are cheaper and more reliable systems out there. A staffer shared with me that they had recently made major internal changes and were suffering through a high load of errors. THE SYSTEM IS OFFLINE OFTEN. We were without an EHR for two days. This was met with a generic email from the \[SENSITIVE CONTENT HIDDEN\] who asked for comments. I responded and never heard back. THE SYSTEM IS NOT USER FRIENDLY. You have to learn their coding system. Look for systems that do not require technical knowledge for modifying your consult note. Oh, and TECH SUPPORT IS NEW to the software! I knew more than the "tech." They outsource their tech to a company in India that is NOT an expert in the software.

### "Cannot get customer support "

Right now pretty bad. I cannot stress enough how awful it is to not be able to get help when it's needed.

Pros

Right now? Not much. The notes are good, but so are Microsoft word documents.

Cons

Cannot collect payments from patients- which is a huge issue. Previously their customer care has been abysmal and they take weeks to reach out to you. Or I've left a review in the past and got a call immediately. That doesn't look good.

Reason for choosing Tebra

Price, but right now they're comparable thanks to that patient pop merger. We may have to switch since Dr Chrono works.

All I get from Tebra are emails talking about more products, but when I email problems and frustrations those seem to get lost in the "mail". My account manager never responds to me. I was recommending kareo to other providers but not now.

Pros

I like the interface and the flow of the work product.

Cons

I have the time to sit here and write a review because the website is down again. Since the merger with Patient Pop and Tebra and becoming a Tebra company the site is nonfunctional every two weeks. This can last from an hour to hours at a time interrupting my work flow. Hard to do clinical work when I can't even access the website.

Good. We have now moved all our clients to Kareo from other software.

Pros

We love being able to use Jopari for work comp and auto, I do not find other software offering this. Also printing the HCFA with background from the system has saved us huge amounts of time and money with our significant volume of work comp and auto.

Cons

Reporting could be better; we would like some standard reports that we have in other software and have not had the time to work on custom reports. We need reports that we can run easily by CPT codes; client often have questions on what they have brought in by specific codes and the reports can be confusing. Also just basic year over year summary of charges, receipts and adjustments would nice. Enrollment is better but still an issue that slows down new clients. We can't print the UB form with the background for faxing claims. We want batch numbers on patient payments so we can track the office collection. ASC Medicare rates do not show up in the contract & Fees; it defaults to the professional fee schedule.

### "Easy to use "

Pros

Kareo EHR is user friendly and notes are easy to read esp when a physician puts the req'd info in. Ability to print/fax/email ... love it!

Cons

however when maintenance upgrades occur, you are at times w/out the services you need for a day to 3-days. This is not good esp in our office. We have made suggestions as to a back-up server so we can continue working while issues are being handled but no such luck. Customer service has a lot to be said for this company and totally not my favorite phone call to make when I have to. The process isn't the easiest and dealing w/the lists upon lists of extention's is a waste of time.

Pros

I don't have any positive statements to make about the software; it was a horrible experience.

Cons

This was my first experience with EHR software. I taught me how to make a more informed decision regarding the next purchase. First, I was hounded by Kareo's sales rep to purchase prematurely. Second, the facilitated training was very ineffective, and would have been helpful if the instructor had included hands on experience during the class. Third, nearly all of the class participants had purchased a subscription expecting Kareo staff to assist them with getting in network with payers. No one in the class was actually ready to use the system. Fourth, the Kareo system's new patient form is extremely lacking. The system does not allow the form to be modified or replaced. Consequently, my staff had to email a new patient form or make it available during the patient visit.

### "Expensive Glorified Text Editor"

I used the EHR and billing for a little over 2 years until Kareo decided to start charging an outrageous fee for the EHR part, and then made it nearly impossible for me to get my patient charts out of the software and provided ZERO support for this, and then ultimately deleted several years worth of patient records.

Pros

This EHR is essentially a glorified text editor with billing functions. This gave it the ability to adapt through templates and macros to a wide variety of documentation scenarios, not pidgeon-holed into a specific speciality.

Cons

Billing was not fully integrated into the EHR, meaning that the billing needed to be entered separately from the charting in a separate program that didn't carry over more than demographic information from the charting portion.

### "Kareo is a waste! "

The support was a nightmare. It took hours to get through to someone. And they promised so many updates and changes to the system without following through. Definitely wish I would have tried a different EMR for my practice.

Pros

Kareo seems pretty basic. Lots of errors to deal with in charting, appointments, billing. Would never try it again.

Cons

Kareo billing was a nightmare. It seemed like 90% of the patients I billed were incorrect. Always having to adjust bills, and circle back with patients. Such a waste of time. The photos never ended up in the correct patient chart, or they were erroneous.

Pros

It is pretty user friendly. They also give me a cheaper price as I do not use the billing section. I didn't find any other EHR that would do that.

Cons

Not being able to securely send PDF's to patients. They took 8 mos to set up my google business profile and have only brought me a few patients.

### "Smooth sailing"

Pros

Just started in Feb 2021. Transition from one PM to Kareo was smooth. Kareo's staff helped upload all patient info; appointments, demographics, bills owed. The Kareo system texts and emails patients their appointments. We love this feature. With Kareo, I can stay on top of billing insurance and patients. So far, nothing is getting lost in the cracks. With my old system, I had to run a monthly report to see which patients have not paid a bill yet (which is obviously not hard to do, but would sometimes forget to run one). In Kareo, I see who I need to bill every day. AND, if a patient hasn't paid, the receptionist sees that they owe a bill before setting up another appointment.

Cons

The system did not transfer credits on accounts. Ex: If a patient bought a "package of 3" of one of our services, the credit on their account for unused services had to be entered manually in to Kareo. Kareo does not offer a Waitlist. I have asked a few times if they could add this service. Seems like it would be an easy feature to add, but to no avail. We would REALLY use this. Instead, we have a google spreadsheet for our waitlist.

The messaging function - I just wish I could do it remotely.

Cons

The lack of app! The cost! The inability for a patient to enter an address during the intake. Also, it’s so buggy!! It takes forever to load (I feel i’m back in the 1990s when i’m using your webpage! )
