We have been a national provider of revenue cycle management for physical medicine and rehabilitation physicians since 1991. We look at software as a tool to be put in the hands of uniquely qualified individuals who know their field intimately. We realize that we are the experts in billing and collections so we do not need our software to be the same. What we needed 5 years ago was software that someone else maintained, updated and hosted. Kareo provides a perfect balance of knowledge and expertise in the back end of the system without keeping us from leveraging our knowledge and expertise of the front end. We can add a new practice, schedule patients and produce electronic billing within two hours with Kareo. New users, utilizing the online resources Kareo provides for training, can be productive within 24 hours. Kareo is so easy to understand from the billing office and the medical office perspective that many tasks require no training at all, it's just obvious! We have had a good experience with customer support, both from the timing perspective and the depth of knowledge perspective. Kareo provides us an economical way to use our skills and expertise to provide stellar service to our clients and a transparent tool for both us and the providers to constantly see what is going on financially with their practices. If you figure in the gains we have made in collections against the cost of Kareo, it has essentially been free.

Pros

Before using Kareo we outsourced our medical billing and incurred nothing but lost claims, missed filing deadlines and lack of communication with the vendor. Kareo puts US in charge of our own billing. The software's ease of use is the best ever. Communication between Kareo, the clearinghouse and us is professional and their responses are timely. We have a small business and Kareo is perfect for what we do. The cost is far better than hiring an outside agency to do our work.

Cons

I can't think of anything that isn't good about the software. Of course, we don't do patient scheduling with it, only the insurance billing, and that is perfect for our needs.

Pros

The software is easy to learn and the support is excellent. They are always there to answer my question and give direction as needed. There is never a dumb question for them. The clearinghouse is also very helpful. I love it because they are always up to date and you do not have to pay extra to keep your billing system current. We did not get into the EHR but I wish we had. It sounds amazing. Another thing it is web-based, so you can work anywhere you are located. We travel in an RV for the last 3 yrs and I have done my billing all over this great country. Sometimes sitting at a lake with a great view.

Cons

I can't think of anything I do not like about Kareo.

Cons

That it doesn't link up with open dental which I was told they are working on. Really would like it to sync up with our current management software.

Great way to get new patients. I like when we answer the phone it says Patient Pop so we know where the call is coming from.

Cons

I wish it could firmly convey to the patients they are REQUESTING & appointment & office will call to confirm the appointment date and time.

One major draw for EMR systems is customizability, I feel with Kareo I wasn't able to customize the EMR to the providers' needs.

Pros

The system was easy to use, basically click on an area and type in your medical chart. Easy to use on most platforms (both Apple and PC).

Cons

Patient eligibility was faulty. The patients eligibility was "unable to be determined" more often than not, we had to use third party sites or call for verification of eligibility.

We now have a webpage that really stands out and reaches patients and Google searches. Lots of information about hand surgery problems on the webpage.

Cons

We have had difficulty integrating some of the features but most of that is on our and dealing with allscripts pro.

I used it to keep patients records for some time. I learnt that it was useful only if the problems are removed.

Pros

It is available on ipad and has a web version accessible everywehre. Relatively cheaper than the competitior (drchrono) Was free in the past so this one is only a good feature of the past (which allowed me to test it) I really appreciate they have finally added patient messaging improvements to the ipad version

Cons

Least things happen automatic almost everything is manual (even lacks autosave for notes) Messyness throught the experience only for small or medium set up so i can not recommend to the hospital because of the lack of support for cordination at such a level Only works with online pharmacies in the US (or atleast not in the country where i work)

I would highly recommend Kareo. It is user-friendly, convenient since it is web-based, and it is efficient. I will never look for another billing service or billing software again.

Pros

My practice's cash flow has improved by 90%! Kareo is extremely user-friendly for someone like me who had no previous billing experience.My cash flow has improved by 90%. We're now receiving insurance payments within two to three weeks and there have been almost no rejected claims that have been outstanding for more than one month. The support staff and the training videos are extremely helpful when implementing your practice information into the software. I can do the practice's billing from any location since it is web-based. It has given me the control I needed with respect to getting payments as quickly as possible from the insurance companies.

Cons

The only negative side is that for larger practices with more than five providers that you are billing under, it becomes costly to pay the monthly pricing per provider. It would be good if Kareo could implement a monthly price for practices or billing services that have five or more billing providers.

I have used Kareo for a year, since starting my private practice. I had no knowledge of billing prior to this experience. I'm so grateful for this software!

Pros

The customer service is amazing. The reps are available, patient, and knowledgeable. I am able to do my own billing BECAUSE Kareo has such excellent customer service.

Cons

There are a few reports I wish Kareo had. It would be helpful to be able to easily determine average per visit revenue.

I signed up for Kareo to link to practice fusion EMR and streamline everything. Streamlining medical care is an oxymoron, like military intelligence... Anywho, After 5 months of use Kareo gets a C+ from me. I have the 200 dollar a month plan. My biggest problems: program layout/user interface/screen shots are mild-moderately confusing. Specifically lots of clicks needed to get to the "right place." Defining the difference between an insurance Company and Insurance Plan within the framework of the program is confusing. Payor setup is mediocre. BCBS started working (EOB's and Payments) immediately. Medicare and medicaid are still screwed up and its been 5 months. Is this entirely Kareo's fault, probably not (clearing house, payer and kareo program must all be "in sync") but I'm still having setup issues, which is frustrating. Some good things: Creating a superbill in practice fusion is nice. Most patient info goes right into kareo (if you have insurances set up properly!) Initial setup person was great but they stopped calling/giving instructions after about a month. I felt slightly abandoned. Perhaps I just have abandonment issues. The idea of not having to back up my computer locally is great. Creating patient statements that they mail for you is nice. So to sum up take a good look before you leap because once you start you can't just flip a switch and go back to your old billing company/system.

Pros

This company is a fraud, they failed to delivery on the contract and still charged us $1200 although they openly admitted to their failure. The implementation manager simply did not attend meeting they had scheduled multiple times. After two months PatientPop did not deliver a usable website. Spending couple of hours on Wix.com we were able to create much more professional looking website with all the same SEO capabilities for a fraction of the price. There are many better, cheaper and more professional service providers out there.

Cons

None. Too expensive and very poor quality. Customer service is non-existent , and they only care until you sign the contact so they can start charging but will not deliver.

Kareo is by far the best web-based software on the market! I have tried many, Kareo continues to surpass others products with the ease of use and the reporting processes. You will not be sorry when you give Kareo an opportunity to improve your overall billing processes!!

Pros

The ease of use of Kareo makes it an easy decision in purchasing a web-based medical software program. From the sales staff to thhe implementation team to the consistent support from customers service,hands down a superior product. There is no other choice in products on the market that offer as much as Kareo does and stands behind their product after the purchase. Kareo also does not lock you into a contract, they are confident that you will stay and they make it easy if you should choose to leave. Kareo keep up the good work. I will never leave! Thank you for such a incredible software.

Cons

It is hard to come up with "cons". I would say the only cons that I could think of is that you are limited by your own ability to discover. There is so much that Kareo can do to make the process easy, you have to explore and talk. To customer support to see just how much you can do!!

Pros

I did like how the software in a graded instantaneously with our EMR system in order to put new clients instantaneously as we head to Devin to our other system.

Cons

I don’t like the frequent updating of the software that wookr prompt me on screen nearly weekly to log in and update to the newest version. Also I www not a fan of the system layout and appearance. Found it tough to navigate at times.

Kareo is always trying to improve and they tell you their progress in that area and give routine updates. Kareo is mindful of billing requests and takes suggestions very seriously.

Pros

Kareo is the best software and most user friendly software I have ever used! One click later you can almost always find what you are looking for and the help you might need if you don't! It covers nearly every aspect of billing without being redundant or confusing. If you are just starting out this is the one to get, if you have been at this for a while then Kareo will cover all your bases at a pretty reasonable price.

Cons

The aspect I like least is the support HOWEVER; this has greatly improved since I started with Kareo about three years ago. I had to call support just last week and it could not have been better so I hold high hopes for this area!

The job of a biller is to put money in the bank. No matter what the specialty, no matter what the payer or the patient mix, no matter how complexities faced interfere with the effort, it really doesn't matter. All that counts is that the biller be able to rely on the practice management system to provide the simplest, most reliable, most intuitive, most funtional, and most effective mechanism to put money in the bank. At the end of the day, there are no excuses for not getting paid that make any sense to the provider. Be able to comfortably walk around in your practice management system - know how it works, rely on its working the way you'd want it to, spend the time required to really know it, and you will know that there isn't another system available that's even close to Kareo's cost effectiveness and capability to help you get the money in the bank. Be able to absolutely show that your billing efforts are provably correct, to your provider and to the patient. Unless you use Kareo, you won't be able to be an effective biller at the same cost to your provider. All the provider wants, really, is a solidly built money machine. All the patient wants is a sensible explanation of why they owe what they owe. You can't come close without Kareo. Couple it with a free, fully integrated, completely certified, and wholly functional EMR, and your will put money in your provider's bank.
